Want to Change Latency from "Interleaved" To "Fast...

I used to have "Fast" latency which helped smooth play on xbox live, but when i turned my router on and off over a period of a few days (When i was rearranging my room) i noticed that my internet had slowed down, i checked and i had an "Interleaved" latency type! I wish to go back to "Fast" as it helped.
Thanks.

  • How can i change the background color in the mobile windows adobe reader app? i want to change it from black to white but don't know how.

really want to change the background color of my documents in the mobile app. ive tried to search the answer online, in blogs and other various 'life hacks' blogs or articles, but so far everyone is talking about the desktop version. i really want to figure this out. is there even an option for the mobile version for windows? the only editing icons when a document is open are: export, home, make public, search in document, highlight/strikethrough/underline/comment and continuous/single view. if there isnt an option to edit background color, can i suggest that the makers of the windows mobile version make one, and make it fast please! any help would be appreciated. -CHANGE BACKGROUND COLOR

  • Want to change latency type on my line

Last year I had a new line laid into my home after 3 years of problems with the old one. Earlier this year I opted for the upto 20 Meg speed, my line is outputting around 18.6 which is fine however recently i've been experiencing disruption to my line.
Sometimes the Hub will reset itself, then when it comes on the broadband light flashes yellow for ages whilst the other lights are blue sometimes upto 5 mins will go by, requiring me to reset it manually to achieve a stable blue light & connection.
I've checked my latency type and found its interleaved. My old line was Fast type as I a game alot and I need a fast stable connection. I think it must have been an oversight when they connected my new line at the exchange they forgot to use the same settings, I do have an I-plate installed so its not an interference thing either.
Is there anyway I can get my Latency set to Fast type please?. My download speeds are stable although sometimes erratic so its not a line problem I have just an exchange setting.

    DC74 wrote:
Right, then clearly theres something not quite right with my line then, shouldn't be taking ages to re-sync after a reset. Is fast latency still better for gamers though?
Depends on your definition of "better for gamers".....
You either have an interleaved connection that affords stability, maintained IP profile, and maximum sync rate, with maybe the addition of roughly 20-40 milliseconds latency to server connections, as a worst case scenario.
Or you have a slightly lower latency connection, with no forward error correction, possible rise in noise margin, resulting in lower sync speeds and associated IP profile and throughput.
A no brainer really ....  over to you.

  • I want to change audiobook from music to audiobook

In the other versions of iTunes I could change a ripped audiobook from music to audiobook and it was synced and handled differently than music.  When I go to these files in iTunes 12 the list is there but changing it to audiobook does nothing. The audiobook remains in music and doesn't move over to the audiobook section.  How can i fix this?

  • Want to change photos from bmps to JPEGs

When I e-mail photos from my iPhone (3G), they show up as bmp files instead of JPEGs, which makes it harder to post to blogs, etc. Is there a way to change the setting on my phone so that the photos are JPEGs?

I had a client who was sending a file from his iPhone with this same problem earlier this week. All of the attached jpg files that I have been getting this week from Mac computer users (not just iPhone), are coming over embedded as .bmp files. (I have to work on PC here at work.) So far I've been unable to pinpoint how to fix this.

  • How do I change my profile - want to change username from user568042

How do I change my profile so that my username is no longer user568042? I have tried to go into my profile and change my name: What they call a handle (username) in my profile; to something different, but it won't let me.

You are right. However, I tried just what you told me about a month ago and no matter what I did, it wouldn't let me. I knew that it wasn't that hard, but I could never get it to work. Thanks. It worked.

  • I want to change back from pages 5 to the last version

But I don't have an iqorks folder in my applications folder, help please?

I honestly don't know, I upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks when prompted on this iMac which is mid 2013.
I have even more problems today, my trash has gone haywire, it has two items I did not put there, also the keychain has gone mad. I feel I need to put it back to factory settings but I am scared in case it ends up a mess, its out of warranty, I didn't get extra cover as I've had macs for around 20 years and never had any problems. However, I'm not a computer person I'm a writer so a bit thick when it comes to computers!!  Any help would be so much appreciated.  Brenda.

  • Want to change webcam from iSight to another (logitech)

    Hi,
The camera needs to be a USB 2.0 device that is UVC compliant.
Older USB 1.1 cameras or even USB 2.0 camera connected via a USB 1.1 port are not going to work.
    UVC means USB Video Class
Early models came with "Vista Certified" on the boxes (not many said UVC)
At OS 10.4.9 iChat could use the included UVC driver (included in the OS)
USB 1.1 cameras before that time needed their own Drivers (in some cases some did work with a generic Third Party driver of which there were/are two).
For iChat this also needed an add-on Utility to covert the video for iChat.
Some Mac Keyboards only have USB 1.1 ports and you may do better using one on the computer itself.
The First Version of Photo Booth only sees any additional Camera if it is plugged in before the app is Launched.
Later version have a Camera Menu item to change the camera (It is not in Preferences)
Face Time also has a Menu item for this.
iChat is in the Preferences > Video section.
In iMovie 6 and earlier it is below the main display area but above the Clip of time line area and to the left of centre.  (the chocie is a drop down when at the camera end of the slide)
The Newer iMovie apps with the Hollywood Star icon has it on the central lateral grey/silver bar (with the tool icons) at the  Left hand end.
Opening this will display the Preview and there is a bar to chose the camera.
If you hold the ALT Key down and then go to the Apple icon top left you get the option to open the System Profiler.
Under Hardware > USB you should find the Logitech listed telling you which Port it is connected to and whether the camera is a USB 1.1 device (the speed listed will tell you)

  • I'd like to change my latency type from Interleavi...

I would like to change my latency type from Interleaving to Fast. How would I go about doing so/who do I contact.
I have checked previous threads, but old links on such threads do not work anymore.

Thanks for the quick reply. Things make more sense now. I read up about the DLM and yes apprently it must have changed it over around the time I had a lot of visitors with their laptops and what not. This is just an educated guess here but a lot of resetting of the router went on during their visits, at least once or twice a day for a while now and it's possible THAT is what made the change of the latency setting.
It may be fine if I just advise everyone to not touch it at all and it will change back in a period of time. But just to check because I do know myself that the line and connection was pretty stable even before all this, with a lot better latency (which is what I want the most). Is it possible to force change it back? Thank you.

  • Interleaving or Fast Latency?

I have bee looking at my ADSL stats quite a lot recently and have published here a very recent one where the DL in over 16Mbps but then realise that my Latency has changed from Interleaving to FAST. Should I read anything into this? Ist this to maintain a more stable connection and will it automatically change back to Interleaving?

    HHGTTG asked:
Ist this to maintain a more stable connection and will it automatically change back to Interleaving?
    It's actually the oposite ...
An interleaved connection will give better stability but a slight cost, that being the extra overhead consumed and a degree
of latency (sluggishness) depending on the depth of the interleave. There are various levels of interleave depth, according to the amount of error correction that DLM needs to stabilise.
If your line is running fastpath ... in reality it means that it is above average in conditions condusive to transmit the DSL and is ok to go as it is .... any error correction will be done by a trellis modulation system within the code of the DSL standard.
Also ... and this is purely my own opinion. BT Wholesale who own the technical systems and such for their Dynamic Line Management systems which run the BT network, never publicly publish details of technicalities about DLM, for obvious reasons .... however it is my own opinion that more and more lines are now modulating fastpath DSL which leads me to think they have changed the goalposts slightly about interleave, simply because gamers prefer fastpath to allow for better latency free gaming.

this is a link to the mods remember going to fast path can make your line more unstable  unless you are an ardent gamer  i would reccomend staying on interleaved

  • BT Infinity - Changing Latency type

    Hello!
I have read a few articles that say that you cant change your latency type from Interleaved to Fast Path with BT Infinity because the modem is in a little white box and not part of the HH.
This is only the case for some people though. I still connect with the telephone wire and not the WAN port. I have always had a brilliant connection (noise wise etc.) and have always hit the theoretic max of my broadband on ADSL2 and now VDSL.
Would I be able to request my latency type be changed to Fast Path (as I assume it isn't that, although you can't tell with modern HH's) as I do not have this seperate modem box?
    Thanks,
    Craig

That's right, you can't. DLM handles the transition automatically.

  • How/can I change the "from" address in Mail?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, and have come across a problem.
I use iCloud for my mail account, but I want to change the "from" address - so the return address on my messages is NOT icloud.
I could do this in Lion.
In the mail account settings, there's an option that says "alias" and it lists (me)@mac.com, (me)@me.com and (me)@icloud.com, and then "custom" is an option.
    Great!
So I choose Custom, and then I can type in the "from" address that I want.
However, when I go to save those changes, it tells me the SMTP server can't be left blank.
    What?
It's not blank! I didn't touch it. The icloud server is still there!
Furthermore, it's greyed out, so even if it WERE blank, it's not like I can edit it!
Once this happens, the only fix is to delete the whole account from mail, and to disable mail in the icloud control panel, then re-add it.
Has anyone figured out to work around this?

Apple's outgoing mail server - just like 99.9% of all other SMTP servers, does not allow "relaying", meaning you use a domain in the 'sent from' address that is different from a domain hosted by the server. The simple reason is to make it harder for any spammer - not assuming you are one - to abuse the server. While bandwidth, server capacity and server load are some issues, the main fear for ISPs is to get blacklisted, and consequently mails from such server being refused by all others.
It's a general rule, and while exceptions might be technically possible, it would be a manual act which at a certain rate would become unmanageable.
If you want, read about the antonym, open mail relay servers, here.
You see, it's actually good behavior and absolutely in your interest to prevent you from using a "non-in-house" 'sent from' address.
