Want to change podcast artwork: not showing up in iTunes Store

Hi. I want to change the icon/artwork for my podcast.
My website (created with iWeb) = www.manleywoman.com
My podcast in iTunes Store = Manleywoman SkateCast
I use Garageband to create my podcast, then save to iWeb, then save to iTunes. So I changed the artwork on the podcast itself in Garageband. That worked fine and shows up properly on my website and on the episode for which the artwork was changed. I thought that changing the artwork on the podcast RSS page of my website would automatically change it in the iTunes Store, but so far no luck.
Can someone walk me through how to make the proper artwork show up in the iTunes Store? Right now it's just a broken link. Thanks

You can update your artwork via feedburner.
1. Go to feedburner.com and log in to your account.
2. Click on your feed for the show.
3. Click on the OPTIMIZE tab at the top, then click SMARTCAST on the navigation bar to your left.
4. Under PODCAST IMAGE LOCATION you can add the url to the image you want to use (store it in your site folder somewhere).
You can also add in keywords, and description as well.
Hope that helps.

  • Podcast Artwork not showing up in iTunes

I have a new podcast which was recently approved by iTunes. All appears to be well with the feed setup, but the artwork is not appearing properly in iTunes. I have checked the setup on my end and the raw feed XML, and I don't see the problem, as the URL to the artwork image seems to be specified correctly. Here is the feed:
    http://www.bighillsoftware.com/category/podcasts/runtime/feed/
The <itunes:image> tag is present and points to the proper image. Any ideas on how to get the image to show up properly?
    Thanks,
    Brad

iTunes caches the image, to save reading it off the server every time someone looks at the Store page, but can take some days before it appears in the Store. I can't give you an exact timing, but I wouldn't be surprised at 7-10 days. The feed and the image are OK, so it's just a question of waiting.
When you add new episodes to your feed they will appear immediately for subscribers but will usually take 1-2 days to appear in the Store - again, due to cacheing, this time of the feed itself.

  • My podcast artwork is not showing in the iTunes store or in the Podcasts app

My podcast, the Legal Seagull, was recently posted to iTunes. The problem is that the artwork is not showing in the iTunes store or on the iPhone's Podcasts app. Once you actually download the episodes, the image does appear.
I verified that my image is 1400 X 1400; however, it does appear to be around 700kb. I have seen some posts about how you should try to keep it under 500kb, but I haven't seen anything official from Apple to that effect.
I note that there is a man out there called Roger Wilmut, who is extremely knowledgable about this issue and has responded to many similar questions. Mr. Wilmut, if you are out there, could you please advise whether my feed is set up correctly? If it is just a waiting process, I'm fine with that- I just want to make sure that I've set everything correctly on my end.
    Feed: http://www.thelegalseagull.com/feed/podcast
    iTunes link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-legal-seagull-podcast/id886005819?mt=2
    Thanks!

OK, looks like the problem has resolved! All it took was a few days of waiting patiently

  • Another "Album Artwork not showing up in iTunes" thread...

I am having issues getting the album cover artwork for my brother's podcast to show up in iTunes.  He is a dozen episodes in and not having an eye-catching album cover in iTunes store is a real bummer.
I validate the feed and see the
    <itunes:image href="http://images.quickblogcast.com/6/1/7/1/2/327378-321716/DefaultImage/AlbumCover1400.jpg" />
    The feed url is http://www.thewordsetsfree.com
    1. Am I missing something?
    2. Is it true that it is possible that Apple needs to refresh the cache for my feed if this is new artwork?
Someone please point me in the correct direction.
    Thank you!

The URL you give is of your web page. Your feed is at
    http://thewordsetsfree.com/podcasts-only/rss2.aspx
and your iTunes Store page is at
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-word-sets-free/id626043992?mt=2
Your image is correctly referenced in the feed and exists on your server. It can take some days for an image to appear in the Store; sometimes the process seems to get stuck and it can take quite a long time. You've done your part correctly and I'm afraid there isn't really anything further you can do about it.
If you ever decide to change the artwork you need to give the image a different filename because of the cacheing, otherwise the Store won't know it's changed.

  • Podcast Channel Not Showing Up In iTunes

I submitted my podcast to iTunes 3 days ago and I can manually subscribe to the podcast channel but it is not showing up in iTunes itself.
    Here is the feed:
    http://www.frontlinechurch.tv/podcast/frontline-podcast.xml

The feed is fine and the image is correctly embedded in the episode I checked (the latest one); it appears when subscribing in iTunes.
As I don't have an iPhone or an iPod Touch I can't check its behaviour there, and I don't know how these devices are supposed to handle this.
However there are two points about the image which might be an issue, though I don't know: its size is 691 x 691 - it should be 600 x 600: this isn't a problem in iTunes, but as I say I don't know whether it might affect an iPhone. Also the resolution is 180ppi - this is pretty academic on a computer, but normally it would be 72 ppi. You could try changing one of the images - of course you would have to re-upload the media file - and see whether it helps.
If it doesn't your best bet would be to ask in the iPhone Forum where someone would be able to check this for you.
One further point: your episodes are missing the 'itunes:duration' tag which should contain the duration as h:mm:ss - this doesn't prevent the episode from playing correctly, but the durations won't show in the Store or in subscribing (until the episode is fully downloaded).

  • Created Podcast Not showing up in Itunes Store...

Hi Gang...I was wondering does anyone know y my created podcasts are not showing up in the itunes store...my rss feed has been validated and i am able myself to subscribe to it...but when i do a search it does not come up and doesnt show....also how can i find out if ppl have downloaded and listened to my show...my rss feed is jason1977.libsyn.com/rss

When I first created my podcast, I noticed quite a bit of lag between the time my feed got accepted and the time when it would be found when i did a search on iTunes... I think it was like 2 days before a search on my name or the name of my podcast would bring up my feed.
Give it a little while to all come together.

  • New Beatles albums - track names and artwork not showing up in iTunes 9.0

Has anyone else bought the new Beatles remastered CDs and tried to import into iTunes 9.0?
All that shows up is Track 1, Track 2 etc and no album art.
Is this due to there being video on these albums too and how can one deal with this issue?

It is because they have not yet been added to the database that is used to provide the track information.
When you insert a CD into your computer and it appears in iTunes, the iTunes software connects to a database and looks for the track names for the CD. If it finds the CD in the database the track names are downloaded and use to tag the music.
The album art on the other hand is provided by the iTunes Music Store, so if an album is not available in the iTunes Store than you cannot get the album art for it. As the Beatles are not yet available in the iTunes Store you will not get the album art.

  • Apps review I wrote on my iphone is not showing up in iTunes store  but can be found in my iTunes account.

I have this problem for over a year and it really frustrates me.
I tried contacting iphone and itunes support and was thrown to different departments but ended up with nothing fixed. Does anyone know how to fix it?
    1. Can't submit reviews on iPhone like when I first started using my iphone - use temp fix to get around it , as suggested by members in apple support community - Put no star rating, after pressing submit - it has a pop up asking me for my star rating - and i submit rating then - at least with this method,  the reviews are submitted - but I no longer have review submission sent confirmation anymore.
    2. My new reviews NEVER show in iTunes store anymore - not under the App page. Nonetheless, if I go to iTunes store and go to my account - my reviews are there. But it seems like my rating and review itself are not shown on the itunes store anymore - when it used to show shortly after review submission.  There are times I go back to the app after a week and I still don't see my reviews.
I don't feel good about this coz my reviews and suggestions are never read by the app creaters and seemed like my insight with the app or good/bad experience with the app do not matter.
    Please help~!

After researching for a few years, every now and then, writing numerous emails to Apple different departments with no helpful response, I finally see that my reviews are in fact showing up on iTunes now. Very happy.
As written in some other posts, there is a delay with review posting, and reviews are probably read and screened to filter out junk fake reviews. I remember when I first got my iphone a few years ago, review posting seemed to be immediate, but perhaps they have changed the process and now it involves a review process.
If you encounter the same problem, but are able to see your review that you submitted when you click the "Write a Review" button, after a few days or months (don't know how long it takes for it to go through the process), check for your review on iTunes>>Account>>Reviews and Ratings - see your review date, go to the App and sort by most recent - so it will be sorted by submission date and see if your review is there.
Furthermore, I do feel frustrated losing long reviews when the submission is unsuccessful, eg if you did not submit a rating, always copy your review first before submission so that you can paste it and resubmit in case your review didn't go through!
Hope this helps all of you who love Apple and care to have your voice and opinion heard!

  • Podcast artwork not showing up in store.

I'm sorry. I'm sure this gets asked all the time, but the other topics I found in search did not seem to be my problem.
    My podcast feed is:
    http://mediathresher.com/?feed=podcast
    My podcast artwork is at:
    http://www.mediathresher.com/wp-content/uploads/podcastlogo.jpg
(which you can see in the feed text)
The podcast is on the store here:
    http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=372229560
But I don't seem to get the artwork! I'm either doing something wrong or there's a delay between putting a podcast up in the store and seeing the artwork...? It was only approved a day or two ago. I optimized all the feilds in both my podcasting suite for my website and feedburner, and the id3 tag artwork shows up fine when I download.
Sorry to be a pest! Thanks for any help!

It seems to be normal for the Podcast Image on the Store page to take a day or two longer to appear than the feed - evidently it's cached separately. It can take even longer for the version of on the Search results page to appear, but it all usually sorts itself out eventually.

  • Podcast ArtWork Not Showing In Library

    Hello, support.
My Podcast (https://itunes.apple.com/es/podcast/managing-madrid-podcast/id630812424?mt=2) correctly shows a picture defined in the feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/ManagingMadridPodcast) , and I also have that same logo set as the cover pic for everyone of our three episodes available. Still, the image won't show in the iTunes library. It shows when we access the podcasts' site in the Store, but not in any of the episodes or even the own podcast in the library.
Could you give me a hand?
    Thanks

The image you see in some podcasts when you subscribe in iTunes is not referenced in the feed but is actually embedded in the media files. Please see this page for a full explanation:

  • Podcast Description not showing up in iTunes/Feedburner

    Hi all,
After my podcast got approved all the information entered in Feedburner was getting
read in my Podcast in iTunes. After 2 months or so I started noticing that the Podcast Description got
removed, then the copyright info and finally the author information.
Here is a picture where I try to show where iTunes is not grabbing some of my feedburner information.
Its looks like some of the Feedburner information is going through, as you
can see in the picture, is grabbing my Podcast Picture, Category, new episodes, etc.
    iTunes Podcast Link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/pod…..d419121389
Note: This is a category I setup through Wordpress and re-directing the feed to my
    feedburner account (.htaccess file)
Would love to know, what is causing this and if I have to do something in order for this
    to get fixed.
    Thanks in advance.
    Pedro Sanchez, Jr.

The feed registered with iTunes is at
    http://www.comopromovermimusica.com/category/podcast/feed
iTunes is not using a Feedburner-generated feed so any amendments in Feedburner are having no effect.
Your feed does not contain the 'iTunes declaration' at the top, nor any of the required tags for this information to show - 'itunes:author', 'itunes:subtitle' and so on. This I imagine is something you would need to address in Wordpress, but I can't advise on that.
Any ht_access modifications are not likely to have an effect (though possibly a 301 redirect may). If you want to move iTunes to the Feedburner feed the correct method is to add a special tag to the feed, following the instructions here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#changing
However this will have no effect if you don't have the itunes declaration at the top, which should look like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
This is necessary for iTunes to be able to read the 'itunes:...' tags.

  • Artwork not showing up in iTunes?

    Hey everyone,
I just submitted a podcast for approval last night and it was approved this morning. Most of the information is showing correctly in the iTunes store, but the 300X300 jpg image I set up in libsyn is not showing as album artwork in the store yet. Also, the file will play streaming, but will not download to completion to my account.
Are these issues something that's typical of a new podcast? I've checked out my feed in RSS feed validator and everything checks out.
    http://rockcrushespaper.libsyn.com/rss
Thank you for any advice you can provide.
    Josh

Since writing the above I've spent a few minutes playing about with iWeb. When you create a podcast, and click on the main podcast page (rather than the episodes) you should see a placeholder for the description and for an image in the top section (above the episode listing). Dragging a suitable image into the placeholder space did in my case create the correct 'itunes:image' tag required for iTunes to display it on the Store page.
You have an image there, so you have evidently done this. However I notice that it's a .png - in theory iTunes should accept both jpegs and pngs; your png contains an alpha channel so I wondered whether iWeb was baulking at it and not creating the tag.
Subject to any suggestions you get if you post in the iWeb forum, I can only suggest that you try replacing the existing image with a jpeg, which ideally should be 600x600px (though iWeb may limit you as to that).
If you do this, it may take some time for iTunes to update - new episodes normally appear in 1-2 days, but for some reason images can take a lot longer.

  • Podcast art not showing up in iTunes

    Hey Guys,
I recently startd a music podcast using blogger / feedburner.  It was approved and is appearing in iTunes, but the artwork is not showing in the store.
I had originally used a 1400x1400 png image per apple's instructions, but just switched it to a jpg after reading somewhere that jpg is now the preferred format.
    Any Ideas ?
    Podcast
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/dignan-radio/id657681622?mt=2
    Feed
    feeds.feedburner.com/DignanRadio
    Cheers!

PNG should be perfectly OK, but JPG is fine. Your image is correctly referenced in the feed and exists on the server; the Store can be quite slow to pick up images, so I'm afraid it's just a question of waiting until it does.

  • Podcast is not showing up in iTunes podcast section

Hi I've got a podcast that use to show up in iTunes but now it doesn't. I'm not sure but I think it has to do with how my content is produced. If you want to check it out the URL is http://www.archiveclassicmovies.com/acm.rss.
