Want to change profit center when goods are issued for consumption

Hi gurus,
I am using FI PCA in ECC 6.0
I have one plant
I have material at plant level (wheat floor)
This material is used in production of more than one product. (different kind of bread) Each product group is a different profit center. Thus material is used in more than one profit center.
At time of receipt i do not know which product the raw material is going to be used for.
In Material master just one profit center is maintained and it will flow to the production order and the inventory of Finished goods received later.
At time of issue of raw material for consumption, i need to change the profit center.
Is this possible in standard configuration.
How do i go about it?

Hi Rishikesh,
There is one way you can do it. Define one material master set for each product group in t-code GS01 using table MARA and MATNR field. Then enter all materials which have the same profit center into each group. So you have sets M1, M2, M3 etc. which belong to profit centers P1, P2 and P3.
Define a substitution rule for profit center under GGB1 using the following conditions.
1. GL Account number for goods issue 261 (issue to production order).
2. Material set M1
3. Company code and document type (WA etc.)
Profit center equals P1.
Similarly define another substitution rule for M2/P2 combination.

The client does not want to change the profit center assignment on the network or WBS.
Finance would like the ability to change the profit center when the FI/CO document is created.
When trying a FI or CO substitution , we keep getting an error message stating that the profit center cannot be changed on the object.
The account assignment from the object will overrride any attempt to change the profit center via substitution.
Does anyone know a solution to the problem.
We are investigating adding an enhancement when the error message is called.

But, have you maintained 3KEI settings for derivation. This would give you additional flexibility to define your default account assignments. If still 3KEI is not sufficient, you can try amending the following message KI399 in OBA5. Before, making changes, you should know the implication. My question is what is the business need to change the Profit Center. Why cannot the users enter the correct WBS Element / Order, which contains the correct profit center?

You entered profit center FD999 or transferred it from a previous transaction, such as material receipt from an external order. However, the system derived profit center DUMMY from the account assignments.
System Response
The system automatically determines the profit center from the assigned profitability segment, cost center, order, project, network, sales order, or cost objects. This overrides the profit center you entered manually.
Procedure
To post the data to profit center FD999, assign the profitability segment, cost center or other object to that profit center as well.
If the posting to profit center DUMMY is correct, no further action is necessary.
This message is sent as an error in the standard system. You can make the message a warning or deactivate it entirely in Customizing. Use the Implementation Guide under "Controlling: General" and choose Change message control. Enter area KI and message number 339.

Substitution of Profit center at the time of goods issue for consumption

Dear All,
We have a requirement of changing the profit center at goods issue level i.e. when goods is issued for consumption, it will pick the profit center maintained at Sales order level instead of picking Profit center maintained in Finished Goods.
In our case, we have to maitain the profit center in the finished goods but the problem arises when we put the different profit center in sales order in place of FG Material master PC, then at the time of PGI & billing, system picks the PC maintained at sales order but the problem starts when we issue the goods for consumption i.e. it picks the FG material master PC.
Can we go for substitution for it? but for substitution, i dont have any idea how it works & how to create it?

Error MM335 when trying to change profit center on material master record

We are trying to change the profit center that is assigned on the u201CSales: general/plantu201D tab in the material master (same as what shows on the u201CCosting1u201D tab of the material master).
The following error message appears: u201CYou want to change the profit center but there are still material stocks u2013 Message no. MM335.u201D
Our SAP version is SAP ECC 5.0 with support pack 19.
This particular material that we are trying to change only exists within one plant and one storage location in SAP.
I have done the following in order to try and resolve this issue:
1. Removed all inventory from the inventory management and warehouse management side for the material.
2. Closed all open purchase orders and process orders for the material.
3. Looked at the MD04 screen to verify there are no outstanding documents for this material.
I also searched for OSS notes and found note #1249513 which was applied to our sandbox environment. This note did not fix our problem.
I had a developer to debug the code that is being triggered upon making a profit center change. Two important pieces of information he found is that the SAP code is:
1. Looking to see if the u2018New G/Lu2019 is turned on and u2018profit centeru2019 is active in the new G/L.
2. Looking to see if previous period stock exists for the material.
The code is then setting a flag which causes the error message to appear.
I have found other comments in the forum stating to change the error to a warning for message MM335. I believe this is not the correct solution; as this would allow a change to a profit center even if stock exists, open orders exist, etc. I also know we could trick the system by temporarily changing the message to a warning and sending that through to production, changing the material master and following up with a transport to change the message back to an error. This would work, but we want a final resolution to this problem.
I believe that 2 OSS notes that were included in our latest support pack upgrade has caused this problem. Those notes are: 1057674 and 1106510.
I plan on opening a note with SAP, but was wondering if any users have experienced this same problem after a recent support pack upgrade.

Following is additional information regarding this problem. We were able to successfully change the profit center on some of our materials by making sure there was no stock in previous period and current period (and no open sales orders, purchase orders, etc.).

Profit center when new GL activate

Hi all
I have activated new GL. What are the changes occure in profit center, when compare to regular one.
for e.g. configuration wise, storing master data or transactional data in tables.
i heard that data store in different/multiple tables when compare to classic profit center

By the activation of New GL accounting, the system activates new table FAGLFLEXT table, where in the transactional data for profit centers also stored. The Normal PC master data tables I think will holds good for the NEW GL as well.

Create Substitution Profit Center when MIRO (invoice)

How to create substitution profit center and this the requiredment:
When i create invoice MIRO there is tax account 11701105 and i want to substitute profit center in that account,
i have create substitution like this, in GGB1 ,>financial accounting> line item >step 1>SYST-TCODE = 'MIRO' AND BSEG-HKONT = '11701105' AND BSEG-WERKS = '1000
why this not worked, did i miss other config?

thats true.. MIRO line items do not always have PLANT... You can refer the following notes for this
0000032654 High level automatic account assignment
0000105024 Automatic a/c assignment (OKB9) does not work
0000409520 Goods/invoice receipt: Default account assignment ignored
If your idea is to populate a Profit center based on Plant, then you would need to use a FI Substitution with user exit RGGBS000 and write your code to fetch the WERKS from preceeding MM document and populate WERKS as well as PRCTR based on it...
But, before you do this, let me ask you a question.. Are you not using Document splitting in New GL? If you use it, PRCTR gets populated always in all the line items..

You want to change the profit center from 2001010003 to 2001010004. However, this is not permitted because transaction data already exists for the account assignment object. Changing the profit center in this instance can lead to inconsistencies in FI.
Example:
There are costs on a cost center (WBS element) to which profit center A is assigned. If the profit center in the cost center master record were now changed to B and the costs then distributed to other cost centers, the currently assigned profit center - that is, profit center B - would be credited. Profit center A, however, would still have a debit posting.
System Response
The action is terminated.
Procedure
If you want the change in profit center to be possible, you can convert this error message into a warning message. You do this in the IMG activity Change Message Control (work area FAGL_ORG_UNITS, message number 011). In this case, however, you need to examine the possible effects that the change in profit center would have on the relevant balance sheet in FI.

Mate,
you have 2 options.
1. Create a new cost center and asign the profit center. after that, distribute the line items from old to new.
2. Go to OBA5 - Work area "FAGL_ORG_UNITS"
Press enter
Here, create the mesage number as 011 Online - select "Warning"
Now go anc change the Profit center (This is not actually suggested, but if your Client is okay to maintain, then you can)

I need to change profit center for accounting document on item line, for that purpose I have used user-exit EXIT_SAPLV60B_004, but my new profit center gets latly overwritten in FM CO_DOCUMENT_CHECK (which is called from FM AC_DOCUMENT_CREATE). It gets overwritten from COBL. Is there any way to solve this?

In GR document profit center pulled from PO Material :
If you have ordered with material code, must check profit center assigned into material by mm03/Plant Data2
If you have ordered without material code, than check cost center assigned Profit center by 1KE4

i have create substitution like this, in GGB1 ,>cost accounting> line item >step 1>COBL-SAKNR = '21117106' and COBL-VKORG = '3000'
why this not worked, did i miss other config? how to assign tcode in substitution, like just valid in VF01?

Hi Aditya
Tax account is a balance sheet account which will never flow into CO at all.. So, your CO subst will never be called for this line item
Subst in CO can be written only for Cost Elements
Subst in EC-PCA can be written for populating profit center in Sales orders
But, Subst in FI can be written for all GL accounts, especially the balance sheet ones
Hope, it is clear... You need to write subst in FI, and not in CO for VAT line item

Change profit center assignment in cost center

We have around 20 cost centers and assigned to 10 different profit centers.From 01/01/2011,we would like to change Profit center assignment in cost centers.
all cost centers postings should post to old profit centers till 12/31/2010 and from 01/01/2011,postings should go to new profit centers.
What is the best way to achieve this?any help is appreciated.

i have one more issue here,i can't change hierarchy in cost center and getting errors..

Field Hierarchy Area to be changed must be unique for the entire interval. You selected a change interval which does not include the entire period. Any change in the field would result in an inconsistency.
I have try to change time depended field in configuration.system is not allowing for field "KHINR" in OKEG TC.

Cannot change profit center in profit segment

i have a problem while changing profit center in profit segment via t-code VA42.
system is not allowed changing them after the contract item was billed.
by checking characteristic derivation rules in t-code KEDR.
system issue message "This derivation step is predefined and cannot be modified or deleted." for PRCTR field.
I think it's the result from characteristic derivation attribute which set to "Do Not Overwrite If Fld Already Filled."
can anyone help me change them into "Overwrite with New Value Only If New Value Found."?
or anyother suggestions?

Contact the carrier the devices are locked to. Apple has nothing to do with this and will not unlock any iPhone for end users.
If the carrier offers unlocking and you meet their requirements, they will then submit the information to Apple to have the device unlocked.
