Interesting. I bought a Plantronics 650e bluetooth headset to use with my iphone and Powerbook (Skype). The Plantronics site said it was compatible with the iPhone and capable of multipoint bluetooth pairing with two other devices. I've tried two of the Plantronics headsets and found that they work fine when only paired with the iPhone. However once I pair it with the Powerbook I find that the iPhone will not talk to the headset again unless I re-pair the headset to the iPhone bluetooth. However once I turn the headset off or talk to it with the Powerbook bluetooth it will no longer work with the iPhone. I'm starting to think that the iPhone is broken with respect to multipoint paired bluetooth headsets or at least this Plantronics one. Does anyone have an iPhone working with a bluetooth headset that is paired with multiple devices at the same time? Which one? Do you have any tips on getting it working?

Just to add,
The specific model (HP Officejet Pro 8600, assuming I did understood your intention as you did mentioned an Officejet model) only support infrastructure mode using a router. will help to know the exact model as there is no such a model named as Officejet 6800.
The Wireless Setup Wizard will not detect any ad hoc network - you may establish the connection from the computer by selecting the printer SSID but the connection will drop after 60 minutes due the HP Auto Wireless feature included for this model.

Hi, Just trying to connect my kids Hudl to my imac to transfer music/films accross but having no success.The imac wont recognise the Hudl, using a USB cable. any ideas?

I can get it to pair to both the phone and the imac, but am having trouble switching back and forth. I don't need to have them both active at the same time, but would like to be able to switch whenever I want. Let me know what i can do. Thanks.

So I am expecting my tax refund in a week or 2 & I wanna buy an Android Tablet, but I am kinda computer/tablet stupid & I have no clue which one to pick... Additionally, if possible, I would prefer a White Android Tablet over a Black Android Tablet!!! I am a T-Mobile employee, I work @ their customer service center/inbound call center in Portland, Oregon. My expertise is cell phone activations, new customer activations/sales/upgrades, tech support & billing. I am very unknowledgeable when it comes to the iPad & Android Tablets. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!!! So far I've narrowed down my tablet selection to the Sony Tablet S, Asus Transformer Prime, iPad 2 & Asus Slider... Suggestions??? Keyboard is not hugely important, however it would be nice, I can type very well on a tablet, so keyboard is not a must... Micro SD card & Android 2.3 or higher is an absolutle must!!! Cameras of at least 5MP would be nice as well. I've done a little research since I posted this & iPad 2 is officially off my list. Asus Slider, Sony Tablet S & Asus Transformer Prime are what I'm looking at as of now. As far as screen goes, I want a larger screen if possible. Flash websites I also want access to. When it comes to sound, I listen to alot of music, I am in my 20's so I'm kinda a partier & I like loud music, so something with a high level of audio & vidoe sound would be great!!! I personally own an Android cell phone, the HTC Sensation with T-Mobile, I have had Android cell phones since the very first day the HTC G1 phone came out, the HTC G1 was the very first Android phone ever put out by any cell phone carrier. I'm partial to Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 - Although it is getting a bit dated at this point. It's very well built, and is one of the thinnest and lightest of the Honeycomb tablets. It does not have a MicroSD slot, but there's a USB host adapter available for $20 - I just copy media from a thumb drive using that when I need to.
The Toshiba Thrive is way too thick and heavy.
The Asus Transformer Prime seems to have a lot of quality control issues, in addition to availability issues. I think that Asus screwed up when they gave it a metal body - it has had a severe negative impact on wifi and GPS performance. If you want a quad-core Tegra3-based tablet - wait for someone else to release one.
Nowadays you actually have quite a few choices - 10.1" tablets were the standard for Android tablets, but some people are willing to sacrifice usability a little in order for the improved portability of a 7" tablet, or Samsung's Galaxy Tab 8.9, which is in between the 7" and 10.1" tablets in size.

If you have a wifi router you can set up/turn on the wifi... set the user name and password wifi in your router... open wifi in general settings on the iPhone... log into your router, user name and password. (If your don't know how to turn on the router wifi. Google the router make and model and you will find instructions on how to do this.)
If you don't have a wifi router and your Mac has wifi capabilities you can hookup to the internet over wifi from your Mac to your iPhone.
System Preferences on the Mac... Network... Wifi... Advanced tab... Hit the '+' to add a user name and password...
Make sure you use WPA2 Personal for Security... Hit ok... Turn on the wifi... Same as above with the iPhone, log into your wifi settings on the iPhone.
*Important point... Use WPA2 for the encryption/Security setting. If you use anything else for this setting, your wifi can be hacked.

What is best way to connect new camera to iMac.

I just got a new camera - canon PowerShot sx40 - I want to connect it to my iMac to down video. It does 1080 dpi. My computer was from feb 2010. It has 4 USB and one FireWire 800 port. No thunderbolt. What cables do I need.

The camera shoud have Firewire 400 cable (arrow looking port), all you need is a Firewire 400/800 (boxy looking port) adapter.
This will allow the camera to stream video to the computer and transfer at the fastest speed.
If you only have USB on the camera (may be USB mini port), then it's really for transfering, your Mac only has USB 2 ports, so find out which ones are the USB 2 (as some are USB 1 which is slower)
Newer devices may have USB 3, but it's backwards compatible with USB 2 and 1, just slower.

Connect to my 10.6 mail server from an android tablet

I have an Samsumg Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (Android 4.0.1) tablet and I need to set up my email for my business on it. I have it set up fine on my iPhone and iPad and desktop (Mac and Windows both), but when I try to set it up on my Android tablet it either says the username or password is incorrect (I am positive it is not) or it cannot contact the server. I've about pulled my hair out trying to figure out which setting is messing things up, but on the tablet the choices are few, so I'm about at a loss. The only thing I can think of is that there is no option on the Android to use MD5 challenge/response for authentication. If that were it, why would it say "Incorrect username or password"?
I know this isn't an Android forum, but it IS an Apple email server. Any peculiarities I might be overlooking might be the problem, so that is why I ask here.

There is nothing unique, special or weird going on here, there is only the usual slog of figuring out what an individual mail client requires and offers, and what the mail server provides and can offer, and aligning the two within your local expectations and needs.
OS X Server uses standard Unix mail server tools. Postfix and Dovecot. And again, there is nothing special, weird, or unique here.
Check your mail server logs for details around the connection failure. Assuming you see the connection error arriving, of course, and that's a clue in itself. You'll want and need to look at both the IMAP or POP logs, and the SMTP logs.
The usual triggers are the firewall settings, the particular required ports for your mail server configuration, whether SSL is used or not, and possibly the encoding of the credentials.
Check with the Android client settings, with the Android documentation, and possibly then with an Android forum around what your particular client requires, when connecting with Postfix and Dovecot tools. (These are standard Unix tools, so I'd expect there are Android-specific discussions around the network. Here's one discussion, though the trigger for what that Android user encountered is probably a firewall block against outbound TCP port 25 connections from random boxes — boxes that are not known mail servers — that is increasingly implemented around the 'net.)
And FWIW, OS X Server 10.6 has a layer of management tools atop Postfix with Server Admin key among these, and I'd manage via those first and not via the direct postfix commands. But the lower-level postfix commands do work on OS X Server, if you're looking around. In other words, read-only, don't use the lower-level Postfix tools to make changes, unless Server Admin et al don't allow you access to the setting.

HP Deskjet 2540 - connect to pc via USB, can I print from android tablet as well?

I've just bought a HP Deskjet 2540 all in one printer.
I have set it up via USB connection to my windows 7 pc, and it is printing fine.
I also have an android tablet. Can I also print from this whilst using the printer via USB on my pc.
Any help on if this is possible and what steps I need to do if it is would be appreciated (I have been reaeding the help section on the website but I am just getting more confused).

You don’t need to have the printer listed with the two different connections unless you’ll be switching back and forth from being connected by USB cable and wireless. You can delete the one you don't think you'll be using.
To print the web page, please use the browser found within the app. I’ve included the ePrint Mobile App FAQs document for your reference.
In addition I’ve also included the ePrint Product Specifications document. This document has the list of supported email programs, file types and print limitations.

Selecting the correct adapter and cable depends on which year model iMac you have and what inputs the TV has?
Check the User's Guide that came with your iMac or your Spec's at > Apple - Support - Technical Specifications
to see if your iMac has a Mini-DVI or Mini DisplayPort and then select that adapter with the correct connection for the TV.
Example: if you have a 2010 or 2011 iMac and an HDMI ready TV, then you would want the > Moshi Mini DP to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support - Apple Store (U.S.)

For the "Arangements" option to appear, the external display must be turned on with the correct input selected and connected to the computer. Then close system prefs, reopen, go to "Display" and "Arrangement" will be along the top.

I can't connect to the itunes store and have some problems with other websites. Some websites load OK. I had the same problem on my iPad and changed the DNS, but don't want to do this on my iMac, anyway, surely I should have my router's DNS?

I can't connect to the iTunes store from my iMac and have problems loading a number of other websites, however some websites load perfectly well. I have had the iTunes store issue on my iPad and resolved it by changing the DNS but surely I should use the DNS for my router. I don't really want to change it for the iMac as I access secure sites with it to internet shop.
Any ideas, I was going to try loading Chrome but can't get it without going through the iTunes store. Anyway, that is treating the symprom not the cause.

Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
