Adobe Reder does not do that, nor does any other Adobe software. A google search suggests third parties offer such a tool. How useful they are will depend on the PDF, e.g. if it is a scanned blueprint forget it; if it was an CAD design in the first place you might be able to get back basic lines but not text.

This is not a feature of Adobe Reader. You'll need either Acrobat or a subscription to one of the web-based services that Adobe offers (like PDF Pack) to do it.

i cannot convert pdfs to word files using either Adobe Reader or ExportPDF website. Using Adobe Reader, I get "an error occurred while trying to access the service" and for ExportPDDF website, I get an "internal server error" message. I have the most recent version of Adobe and checked for recent updates Anything else I can try?

Countless .png files after converting pdf to dwg

After converting a .pdf file to a .dwg file using the export feature in adobe illustrator, I find that as many as 500 .png files come with the newly made .dwg after the conversion is complete. My question is, why do all these pictures come with the .dwg file and what would I have to change, settings wise, to no longer have to delete all of those photos? (i.e. how to export ONLY the .dwg file) I thank you all in advance for you help.

We can't know. We have no idea what the file looks like, how it was created in the first place or even what version of AI you use. And not to state the obvious: You are mistaken if you think that CAD-generated PDFs or DWGs only contain vectors, so for all intents and purposes this could be totally normal within the bounds of the format and how the file was originally generated.

If you have bought Adobe Acrobat then you will have the Save As Other > Microsoft Word menu item, and there's no charge to use it.
If you are still opening your files in Adobe Reader, then it will be trying to sell you a subscription to the ExportPDF online service. You don't need that if you have Acrobat installed.

Adobe displays error when trying to convert PDF to Word file

Help! I just bought the Adobe convert pdf's to word package as it was advertised on the right side of a pdf file I was working on. This file advertised itself as non savable but I don't want to spend hours working on this application only to have my computer freeze or shut down and have to repeat the work. On the right side of the document is an advertisement from Adobe to convert PDF's to Word or Excel for a fee. I pay the fee and now the pdf file fails to convert to Word. I know some pdf's are protected and won't convert. How do I know if that is the problem? Why would Adobe advertise that it could convert a pdf to word if it was a protected document? I have no idea how to trouble shoot this.

For privacy reasons - we would not allow the advertisement to 'know' the level of security on any document. Sounds like you were accessing via a browser regardless so we cannot control that portion.
Do you happen to know the original author of the document? And if not - what is your intension with the document? To share?

I'm trying to convert my pdf file into an xlsx file. I have the Adobe Export Subscription, yet Adobe Reader hasn't been able to convert it, although it will convert the file into an rtf file. Any suggestions on how to make the conversion?

Can you just elaborate what problem did you face exactly with Adobe Reader. What error u got from Adobe Acrobat. I use it all the time and it works just fine. I signed up for a free trail and want to convert a PDF file to word. I am in Adobe Reader and hit Convert and it clocks but I do not have a converted file after it stops. How do I do this?

Adobe doesn't offer free trials to its subscriptions. Did you start an Adobe Acrobat trial? If so, make sure that Acrobat is installed, and then open your PDF in Acrobat, rather than Reader. In Acrobat, choose File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document to save your PDF file as a Word document.
When you try to convert via Adobe Reader, you're actually accessing the ExportPDF online service, which is a subscription offering separate from Acrobat.
Provided you have the Acrobat trial, you can use that to convert your PDF files until the trial expires. Then, if you'd like, you could proceed with either an ExportPDF subscription, or an Acrobat subscription.

Dots are appearing on characters after created PDF through *.dwg file using AutoVue API

I created PDF's through *.dwg file using AutoVue API 20.2.2. I observed in more zoom of PDF, every character or line has dots. At the same time on second page of PDF drawing lines are thicker that first page of PDF.
Please kindly help on this, how to remove dots and drawing lines are published same as on first page.

As with any format that does not support zoomable line thickness, the output is dpi dependent
Imagine the DPI impact on a PDF is similar to the DPI on an image, except you can zoom into the lines, they look smooth (it is vector) but the position for the specific points is not as accurate as it should
So it all boils down to how are you generating the PDF?

Free trial version stopped converting pdf to word file

I recently downloaded the free trial versio nof Adobe Reader XI, and for one day I was able to convert pdf files into Word files (doc, docx). I have not been able to do so since. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software to no avail. The furthest I can get is to click on the convert button within reader, and then when I click on 'view converted files' I am sent to a website that asks me to subscribe in order to use the conversion function. This looks to be a somewhat common bug with this software, which leaves me very little confidence that this would be a worthwhile purchase (I am a writing teacher and would like the ease of converting back and forth in the long term).
Can anyone help me with this?

Adobe Reader is free software; there is no trial for it.
The ExportPDF online service, initiated through Adobe Reader, is subscription based. To the best of my knowledge there is no trial either.
The only trial there is to convert PDF to Word/Excel is Adobe Acrobat.

Converting PDF to Jpg file

i am looking for an pure java api wich will convert pdf file into jpg.

If it is going to State Legislators I would highly suggest doing the PDF in a DVD-ROM folder. (I am sort of assuming these are pages of material, and not a bullet point type list.) It also lets them print things out and read them.
That being said, I find Motion does a nice job of making text. Export as self contained in a codec like Pro Res, then bring it into Compressor. Often CBR will give good results on text. even if you go that route, the PDfs in files may not be a bad idea....
