Want to create folders on iPod.

I want to create folders on iPod.  Have read comments from 2006, but not the answer.  Maybe if I explain:  I want to have a folder called Chopin and include individual playlists for different artists.  How do I do it?  Thanks

Go to My Computer and select the CD drive.
Create the folders you want then drag the songs from iTunes to these folders and Burn it from Windows.

  • How can I create Folders in iPod and keep all bands & artists separate?

    Hi guys,
How can I create folders for different artists and keep them separate? Is it somthing that I need to do in iTunes in my Mac or import them a certain way?
    Anyone please,
    Thanks in advance,
    Zia

If you have the artist information entered in iTunes, then they should already be organized like that on iPod.
    Go to music-->artists

  • I want to create folders on my iPhone and sync to PC

I really want to find a way to be able to sync photos to my PC but keep a folder structure around them. Some case:
I take pics on my phone
Photostream copy moves up to icloud and down to my PC
I can organize them into client names(or other)
Any itunes images and folder setup to sync move to my phone
I just can't figure out how to get a new pic into a folder on my iphone that will move to my PC and be in the same folder when it's there.
When I try to move an iphone created image to a folder to a folder on a phone that is setup to sync from the PC, its grayed out. So that implies that the iTunes synch is one way only. I can move new pic to other folders on the phone, but of course those aren't setup to sync.
Is there no way to organize pics into folders on the phone that then gets echoed on the PC??
If photostream is the only way to sync both ways, then it's horribly ineffcient. Every time I open the PS folder on my PC it takes 1.5 min to refresh with all 1800 pics in there. And if I need to find certain client image sets, then I have to go back and find them by hand. Now good.
Does anyone have suggestions around how to acheive this?
    Thanks
    Rich

You should copy everything from your old computer to your new one, then sync.
The iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

  • HT4847 how do i create folders for iWork documents?

How do I create folders to organize iWork documents?

If you want to create folders in iCloud to organize your documents, it's much easier if you are using OS X Mountain Lion and iWork '09. Just open Pages and you will see the iCloud window. Drag one file to another one to create a folder in iCloud.
If you aren't using OS X Mountain Lion, open http://www.icloud.com, log in with your Apple ID and choose iWork. Then, if your documents aren't in iCloud, drag them to your Internet browser. If they are there, just drag one file to another one to create a folder in iCloud

  • Can you create folders inside an iPod?

I have an iPod video, and I want to know if it is possible to create folders in the iPod, other than the ones allready there.
    e.g.
In the audiobook folder would it be possible to make a folder called "Harry Potter", to put all my harry potter audio books in?

  • Why can't I create FOLDERS under my iPod name in the DEVICES heading?

Note: I have my iTunes set to "MANUALLY MANAGE MUSIC".
I can create Folders, subfolders and playlists under the PLAYLISTS heading.
Under my iPod name in the DEVICES heading, iTunes only lets me create a PlayList. No Folders.
    Questions:
Do I need to AUTO sync to get the folder heirarchy and songs created under the PLAYLISTS heading onto the iPod?
How do I create a Folder under my iPod name in the DEVICES heading? This appears to be a bug and/or another iTunes limitation. I tried it and whenever a new folder is seleted, the folder appears under the PLAYLISTS.

*Why are you creating playlists for albums and artists?*
Why is that relevant? This is an Apple product which, historically, has allowed its users to file information any way they saw fit! Why suddenly impose arbitrary restrictions on how I organize my own data?
+The earlier version of iTunes DID allow you to create folders in the iPod+
    *Only when autosycning*
*You can be frustrated all you want but the feature has not been removed.*
Yes the feature HAS BEEN removed. I currently am holding a prior generation nano in my hand which, in iTunes 6, allows me to MANUALLY create folders in it and drag playlists to the folders. I can nest folders and create any hierarchy I want. Since I am doing it MANUALLY, I can use the same ipod on several computers and collect selected audio files from each of those computers. The new version of iPod/iTunes simply has REMOVED this feaure and it is now only available if you autosynch. Like I said, I currently have free use of folders on an older gen ipod in MANUAL mode.
The software is too concerned with whether you are pirating copyrighted material and does not at all take into account LEGAL use of the iPod! As a matter of fact, I use the iPod to store audio tracks of live presentations and need an easy way to archive these on a single ipod from several computers. The most efficiient way to do this is to MANUALLY transfer the files from each computer to the iPod, and put them in their corresponding folders on the iPod. I have been doing this for over a year on the previous generation nano and iTunes 6 with no sweat. But new iPod required 7.5 iTunes and I can no longer create folders on the iPod in manual mode. This requires a long linear stream of playlists that cannot be organized into category, computer of origin, etc. As such, I can no longeruse the new iPod for my very simple application of archiving/playing non-copyrighted audio files which have no prior id3 info.

  • Want to create a small Movie to play on ipod

    Hallo
I want to create a small Movie-file to play on my iPod, but I don't want to use the quite large Standard iPod-Format. What other choices do I have? I tried MPEG4, but it didn't play.
I produce a Videopodcast, and want to keep the size small, and it should also play on iPods.
    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks everybody.
    Greetings from Switzerland
    Rolf

Okay, thank you for trying to help me, but I guess, I didn't make clear what I really want.It would be a lot easier if you simply stated a target file size for a given duration here. For instance, lets say you want an iPod file targeted at 3 MBs/min or 9 MBs for your 3 minute file. This would require you to limit your audio plus video data rate to an average of approximately 384 Kbps. Since this is roughly half the data rate recommended for a 320 x 240 "Baseline" profile H.264/AAC iPod/Podcast file, your would have to use alternaive compression settings to the "iPod" preset. If I assume you wish to use QT Pro as your current workflow would suggest, then the obvious solution would be to use the "Movie to MPEG-4" export option since the lowest available "auto-adaptive Movie to iPod" option would be twice this figure.
    QT Pro Export option: MPEG-4
    File Format: MP4
    Video Tab Settings:
    Video Format: H.264
    Data Rate: 320 Kbps
Image Size: 320 QVGA (for 4:3 aspect ratio) or as appropriate for other aspects at 320 pixel width
    Frame Rate: Current
    Key Frame: Automatic
    Video Options: Baseline/Faster Encode
    Audio Tab Setttings:
    Audio Format: AAC-LC (Music)
    Data Rate: 64 Kbps
    Channels: Mono or Stereo
    Output Sample Rate: 44.1 KHz
    Encoding quality: Better
    Streaming Settings:
    Enable streaming box: Unchecked
One the other hand, if all you want to do is half your current output file size, then:
open your DV file in the QT Player
open the "Show Movie Properties" window
    select the video track
    select the "Visual Settings" tab
turn Preserve Aspect Ratio off if needed
enter 320 x 240 or other 320 width aspect ratio "Scaled Size" settings
and convert using the "Movie to iPod" export option
This series of steps forces the "auto-adaptive" function to export as an H.264/AAC "Baseline" profile with video data rate limited to less than 768 Kbps and a 128 Kbps/44.1 KHz stereo audio track or roughly half the file size of your current "Baseline Low Complexity" profile. Both of these possibilities, of course, assume you would be satisfied with the reduced display size (320 x 240 QVGA) iPod compatible/Podcast file format and the quality produced in the 3 MBs/min to 6 MBs/min range covered by these two suggestions.
    P.S.,
Is there any particular reason you are not exporting directly from FCE to your iPod/Podcast target file?

  • How do I create folders for the apps on my iPod touch?

I recently updated to os 4.1 for my 2nd gen iPod touch but didn't get any of those

  • How do I create a new account for an iPod that is on an existing account?  My brother and I have shared an account for five years, and now that I'm moving out, I want to create my own account but still want to be able to play the music I've purchased.

My brother and I have shared an account for five years, and now that I'm moving out, I want to create my own separate account but still want to be able to play the music I've purchased over five years.

In order to continue to play and sync the music you purchased with your old account, you'll need to authorize your new computer/iTunes library to do so.  You can do this by choosing Store -> Authorize This Computer and then entering in your old account credentials.
That's all you should need to.  Then just create your own account and start purchasing and using it the same you have with the old one.

  • Can you create folders/menues in the playlist menu?

Was wondering if it's possible to created menus/folders (not sure that the correct lingo is) in the playlist menu in your iPod. I know you can do this on the iTunes program on your PC but it would be really helpful if it was possible to do this on the iPod itself.
    For example:
From the main menu click on Music then Playlist and instead of having a list of playlists, have additional folders like say 80's and click in that and have are your different 80s playlist in that folder.
Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance for any help.
    jla

You can create a playlist on the go. Just browse through your Artists, Songs, or Albums, and when you get to the one that you want to create a playlist for, just hold down the center button until the title of the song flashes quickly twice.
Once you are done creating your playlist, you can go to iPod > Music > Playlists >On The Go > and click play!
    Hope this helps,
    Cory
