Want to DL the latest version of iTunes 10.6.3. Clicked the update button. Waited then waited some more. Absloutely nothing happens. Appreciate any help on what I should do to fix the problem. Thanks.
Try the standalone installer from the iTunes tab above.

I want to download the latest version of iTunes from the internet rather than on the Apple software update...will i have to re-enter my account details in the iTunes i downloaded...plz help..!!
It may only ask those details when making a transaction in the iTunes Store.
It has nothing to do with reinstalling the application.
I'm pretty sure about that, as sure as I am that no meteore will fall on my head today.
But don't shoot me if it does.
It will also not ask you to re-authorise the computer, if you're afraid about that. -
HT1926 Can't install or uninstall the latest version of iTunes
Everytime I go to install the latest version of iTunes I get through most of it, then a window comes up that says "Windows Installer" - "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." - "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below."
In the drop down dox below the previously stated there are two options:
1) C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\
2) C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes 10.5.0.142\
Neither of them work and I get the message: "The path 'C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes 10.5.0.142\iTunes64.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes."
There is an option to Browse for the porgram but I can never find what it needs. Even when I attempt to uninstall iTunes I receive the same messages as above. I have a Windows 7 PC. I have looked through all the possible Troubleshoots on the Apple website and on the iTunes site and none of them helped. My iTunes works perfectly fine and does everything it is supposed to except when I attempt to install iTunes. I have tried every way possible and still nothing works.

(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and now I cannot play the songs in order. It will skip around or just stop playing the song currently playing when it is finished. I just want to play an album from start to finish. The shuffle feature is turned off.
It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

Also, the "burn playlist to disc" command has disappeared from the File options. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes but that only restored tracks I'd bought from the iTunes store. I also tried setting up another logon.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be copied & renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to an earlier state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

rigght after i got the ios 7 update i noticed everything from my icloud was on my phone i dont want all that stuff on here so i plugged it into my computer and its saying that i need the latest version of itunes i have downloaded it twice and i am still getting the same error message. So my question is how am i supposed to download the latest version of itunes if its not working. it says for a Windows computer the update is 11.0.5 but i need 11.1 what am i supposed to do ?
you dont need computer. go to settings > icloud and turn off what you dont want like photostream/calendars/contacts. for itunes 11.1 you need to go to itunes.com and download it then install it.

I have downloaded the latest version of itunes to my computer and when I sync my new iphone, it says it is syncing but doe not pull the music in my library. Is it just me that finds the latest version of iTunes a bit rubbish? I'm used being able to open a playlist in a separate window in order to browse through my music and easily drag and drop tracks into the playlist (in a separate window). It also meant that I could search and play the contents of my main library and just drag and drop into a large space AND easily hit the stop button and instantly hit the pay button to just start a new tune from a new playlist. Now you can only press pause / play / pause and so on. If I want to view the contents of a playlist while listening to another I need to navigate to it which takes me away from what I'm doing in the other. It just makes for a lot of clicking and navigating around the houses when I used to be able to have multiple windows.
I'm an avid music fan and just love organising my music to make finding / listening to my favourites eaiser.
Maybe I'm just a bit thick and not using the software correctly, but it seems that a lot of handy features have been either removed or replaced with inferior ones (at least for me anyway). I appreciate that probably for most generic general music goers this isn't an issue, but for me it is.

The latest version of iTunes has completely changed the format and also why will it not allow me to burn a CD compatible with other devices?
I'm using iTunes 11.1.1 on a Mac mini running OS 10.7.5 and I burn CDs which play in this machine's external optical drive, my car, and the Pioneer audio CD players downstairs. I typically use Verbatim recordble CDs. After selecting the playlist I want to burn, I make sure that "Audio CD" is selected - this has always been the default for me. If this isn't working for you, I don't know what to say - but I'd suspect the drive you're using to burn CDs is getting wonky.

I have always been able to create playlists on itunes, then drag them to my ipod when it is plugged into the mac. I recently downloaded the latest version of itunes, and now am unable to do that. I can drag songs and albums to the ipod, but not my playlists. It used to be so easy, am I missing something here?
Plug your iPod into your computer, it will begin to sync. Now check to see if the playlists have been added.
If not, go to the songs tab under your iPod when it is connected to iTunes, Unless you have checked "Sync all songs (or something to those words)" you should have an option on what you can put on your iPod. Make sure to check the playlists that you want on your iPod. -
I just installed the latest version of iTunes to my pc w/Windows 8. Seemed to install fine. Purchased a bunch of songs from the iTunes store. Nothing will play. I click the song, the speaker icon comes on next t the song, but it doesn't begin to play. Cannot figure out what is wrong. Any suggestions?
