Hi,
I have isntalled NWDS CE 7.1 in my system. Now i want to install SAP GUI to practice webdynpro for java. Can anyone tell me where i can download sap gui?
which version is suitable for NWDS 7.1 (Compatible)

Hi Matthias,
it is not possible to connect to a CE system via SAP GUI. For administration and configuration use the NetWeaver Administrator http://host:port/nwa. For web application development use the NetWeaver Developer Studio which you need to install on your client machine, for Visual Composer application development you can use the web front end http://host:port/VC.

Hello. What you mean under SAP 5.0 application ?? Download latest SAPGUI is used for all old sap releases ( Except for absolutely old) .
Download from : ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/compilation2/
and last patch from: ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/patches/

Impossible to download SAP Gui for Java (7.20)

Hello,
I have been trying for more than an hour to download SAP GUI for Java (7.20), but without luck.
I'm on Linux, and have tried chrome, Firefox and download manager. I'm on a plain internet connection without proxy.
On Firefox and chrome:
1) Went to the market place and chose "SAP GUI FOR JAVA 7.20 -> Linux on IA32 32bit"
On the download tab, I see a list of files, amongst which is "PlatinGUILNX_3-10006060.JAR"
Clicking it brings up a new window, but no download is started, i.e. nothing happens. The link in the new window is

(i.e. nothing more after current token.)
Any ideas? TIA
(I must say I'm a little disappointed through how many hoops I have to go for a simple download. The registration was already a bit more complicated than is usual, but I could understand security and administrative reasons. But why is it not possible to provide a simple download link for logged in users which only works for logged in users?)

Method 2) is the one which should work for you.
Please have a look at [notes|http://service.sap.com/notes] of component XX-SER-SAPSMP-SDM, in particular [note 401195|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/401195] regarding Download Manager. Did you enter the address of the SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com) correctly?
In case you do not find the information to make it work, please create a [support message|https://service.sap.com/message] on the component already mentioned, and someone responsible for Download Manager should contact you.

With all respect to customers (they already invested in WinClient) and latest SAP's silver bullet (Web Dynpro) I'd appreciate decent information about pros and cons of different UI creation technologies.
Here are some of requirements:
- UI should work on WinClient (mandatory) and on WebClient (desired)
- UI components works with non SAP world
- UI could be customized by customers
- UI provides screen pops activated by the system (aka agent's desktop)

Recently i was migrated to MAC Os from Windows.now i want to install SAP GUI on my Mac can any one please describe the installation process.
i am able to download SAPGUI720.jar and SAPGUI730.zip files when click on them it will popping a message that please look at the console for detailed errors.

Hello Sathish,
SAP GUI for Java 7.30 is out of support from 31st of March 2015. SAP recommends to always use the latest available version of SAP GUI when installing new clients. Refer below link for more info.
So, I would suggest you to download 7.40. You could get that from the same link.

Export SAP GUI Logon system properites to another laptop

Hi, SDN Fellows.
I want to run SAP GUI logon systems in another laptop. After installing a new SAP GUI client. Instead of re-add the logon system properties, is that a way I can export and import from another laptop? Say I have 10 logon system properties (some with application server and some with logon groups), how do I pick the 8 of 10, and export to another SAP GUI in another laptop?

SAP GUI 7.40/Blue Crystal Theme/NWBC 5.0

Hi All,
I recently upgraded my SAP GUI to 7.40 (which includes NWBC 5.0). I initially downloaded SAP GUI 7.40 and had many issues (Which it seems like everyone else had as well, but almost all of the issues that I experienced were fixed with the first patch.) I also updated NWBC 5.0 to patch level 3 which fixed an issue I saw with systems with router strings.
I love the tabbed browsing with NWBC 5.0 as well as the favorites area for quick navigation.
What are your thoughts on the new Blue Crystal Theme? Is anyone seeing any issues with this new theme? I saw an issue with theme originally with missing buttons, but those all seem to have been resolved. What are some of the other issues anyone is seeing?
I have also read about being able to open NWBC within the GUI itself, but unfortunately due to my setup being linked to a sandbox which does not have Single Sign On (SSO) setup, this piece did not work for me. Has anyone else been able to setup this functionality? I would love to hear additional feedback on it.
Feel free to comment with other functionality that you like with the upgrade to SAP GUI 7.40/NWBC 5.0.

I just downloaded SAP GUI 7.40 Patch Level 2 this morning. Looks like SAP changed up the look of the Blue Crystal Theme even more to match up with the Fiori theme. Here is a screenshot of the new look in transaction PA30 and you can compare to my original message above to see the changes.

SAP GUI Package

Hi Folks,
I want to deploy SAP GUI 7.30 in our standard Windows 7 image. We use Microsoft's SCCM tool to build PCs over the network so don't wish to use the SAP deployment server.
The full SAP GUI 7.30 media when copied to my hard drive takes up about 2GB of space. I have been looking at ways to reduce the size of this in our build.
I followed the instructions to create an installation package using NwSapSetupAdmin.exe. The package comes to 181MB but the only way I can get the package to run is if it is accompanied by the all set-up files and folders.
In attempting to reduced the size of the installation I tried installing the package and only including the contents of SAP GUI 7.30\NW_7.0_Presentation_\PRES1\BI_PreCalServer\Setup folder but this fails.
Has anyone any advice on how to do this? I can't find any information on it anywhere.

I realised what I was doing wrong shortly after I posted.
I had created a Single File Installer which I referenced above - this is 181MB.
I was trying to call this with NwSAPSetup.exe /package=singlefileinstallername.exe
But all I need is to call singlefileinstallername.exe by itself.

Go to transaction SE93 . This is the transaction for maintaining various T-codes used in SAP. Fill any T-code and press enter. A window will appear carrying the details of that transaction . On that window there are 3 checkboxes at the bottom under the title " GUI SUPPORT " .Select all the checkboxes and GUI support would be enabled for java and windows.

Hello Harish,
SAP GUI for Java 7.00 and 7.10 are no longer supported and as a result, are not available from SAPs download locations.
You can use SAP GUI for Java 7.20 on Mac OS X 10.5 in case JSE 6 can be installed (requires 64-bit Intel CPU, see [note 1400273|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1400273]).
