Want to embed mp4

Someone gave me m4v movie from a Mac and I am trying to find out the best format to use with Flash CS4 to display it on a website. Looks great when I change the extension to mp4 but it only opens in Quicktime player on my PC but I prefer to embed it in the page and prefer swf or whatever someone can recommend. My goal is to keep the quality as close as possbile to the original.
I am working with a PC not Mac.

Try renaming the file to .flv and use it directly. In most cases it should work that way. It's the same format.

    If you use Java-plugin, you can embed Java3D in a web page.

    If you want to show Form1, you can use form.show() method

    Is there an extension to embed mp4 files?

    Because there is no one standard for embedding video files in your html page. Firefox will not play mp4. Safari will only play mp4. And so on!
    This code generator will create the base code that works in all browsers:

    There are other plugins (like http://www.videojs.com/), but this is really the simplest cross-browser approach. But you will still have to convert your mp4 video to all the requires formats (Ogg, WebM, mp4) and upload those to your server.     I have an mp4 that is wrapped (or published) by an swf. I have successfully embedded the swf in a web page but when I play the video from the web page the quaility is significantly degraded. Unfortunately I have no control over the internals of the swf so what I would prefer to do is to embed the mp4 rather than the swf. I understand Adobe Flash Player supports mp4 since version 9, but I haven't been able to figure out the html to make this happen. Here is the code I am currently using with the swf. Can anyone suggest how to modify this for embedding the mp4?

    I didn't mean to imply the HTML code affects quality (although the qualtiy tag technically does that) . The internal settings in the swf are affecting quality. If I play the mp4 directly the quality is fine. If I play it through the swf wrapper the quality is degraded. I want to take the swf wrapper out of the picture.

  • Failure to embed Mp4 video [From hard disk and host]

    Im Terra - new here and learning DW even more everyday...
    But I've come stuck the last few hours, so I could do with a little assitance, thanks in advance...
    I've been trying to insert an mp4 file into a div; which is successful. But when I try to preview play it in DW, I get the error code: "Unable to find the plugin that handles this media type. DW looks both in the "Config/plugins" folder, and the plugins folder of each of your browsers." ...When I also try and preview in FF, inside the div, it says "need additional plugins to play" so I continue and let FF look for plugins, FF finds none.
    What I ideally like to do, is host the video file from photobucket. Now, I can do this with a simple embed code, but when played from a browser it's played in the default photobucket player which is bundled with a watermark and offering up relative videos at the end, which I would prefer not to see.

  • Cannot insert a page to a pdf form because it is in xml format.  do not want to embed as an attachment. Is there a way to resolve?

    I have a pdf fillable form I have created, but when I wanted to add a cover page I received a message that could not add to a xml form.  Suggestion was to attach (embed).  Is there any other option?

    Thank you for your quick response.  I am using Live Cycle Designer 2.  How do I change the form in Live Cycle Designer to be compatible with a pdf file so I can combine the pages?  Or how can I manually add the cover page (as the first page) to the current form created in Live Cycle Designer.

    i have a pdf which deals about the description of the product. i want to start with an interface image and a link on the next line say 'Expand'. this link will open the  interface image with larger resolution. i cant find a way to embed another image... i am not looking for rollover.. when i click the link, only then the image should appear as a popup...i have Adobe Acrobat Professional... but cnt find any relevant option for this task..
    is there any javascript to call out this particular image when the link is clicked.
    i just want the image to appear as a pop up and not another file.
    Any help in this issue is highly appreciated.

    As Dave said, you can create a button to show/hide a layer.
    You can also have a button that shows/hides another button.
    First create a button with the image you want to make appear as its icon, and then hide it (Button properties > General > hidden)
    Then create another button that shows/hides the first button when clicked (Button properties > Actions > show/hide a field action)

  • Itunes does not work when I want to play Mp4 videos with most recent versions

    When I want to play videos with mp4 format on itunes, it does not do anything and I have to close itunes with the windows system manager. Does any one know how to solve this problem? I did not have this isue with 10.5 and previous versions of itunes.

    I found the solution, the problem was the encoding of the configuration files.
    I put:
    => Encoding: UTF8 without signature
    => line endings: UNIX(LF)
    And now it works :)

  • Wanting to Embed gothicCentury into our Flex based web app

    First,  please excuse my ignorance as I don't have a lot of expereience with Emedding fonts into a web application.
    I am looking to embed a Gothic Century font into our Flex based application that will be used by our customers via web.   We also my possible use it as a Air application. 
    If I want to do this,  how do I go about it in the flex world.   The font is available in our Designer's tools but we need to be able to have it accessiable in Flex legally. 
    Any guidance here would be very much appreciated.

    It is understood that SWF and its content is intended to be rendered client-side. However, we were wondering if anyone has had any success with wrapping flash-player (such as Adobe AIR) around a SWF in such a way that the player could be called by a script server-side to generate graphs/images, which are then saved to disk and returned via a regular web service.
    I gave embedding the image on the HTML page, but the specific use we are most interested in is embedding the static thematic map into a report in the Word document format.  Since much of our content can already be accessed interactively using a browser and a flash-plugin, we are investigating methods of leveraging our SWFs to generate images server-side for the purposes of automated report generation.
