Want to erase all music on my iPad2 because of sync issue.
How do I erase all music on my iPad2? I want to replace it with what's in my library, but the sync function tells me there's not enough room. This might be related: when I go to "music on this iPad" in iTunes, only my purchases are showing up, while the majority of my music has been ripped from CD. It's like iTunes doesn't realise that I have other music.
I didn't reply for a long time because the synchronisation randomly worked the next day. But now I'm trying to sync again and I'm having the same issue.
So... iTunes tells me there's not enough space to synchronise. I have 25GB of music in my library, 20GB of which is on the device from my last sync. I want the 5GB of new music to be transferred onto the device. There's 18GB free space.
As you suggested, I tried to unsync all music. When I unchecked 'sync music', the blue audio portion of the storage bar dropped to zero, but when I clicked 'Apply', it went through a syncing process in which the original blue audio section just reappeared.
Now the 'sync music' box is unchecked, with 25GB of music still showing up on the usage bar and when I click 'sync', it tells me there's not enough free space (despite the grey portion of the usage bar reading 18GB). It says I need another 7GB, which would be about right if it was trying to add my full library to what's already on the device rather than just syncing the new stuff.

any suggestions????? please!!
If you haven't backed up /imported the photos, it's most likely you can't access that data. Passwords/code are made for security, remember them in the future.
You could try importing photos using
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
You can use
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
to restore the device, but everything that hasn't been backed up(purchases excluded) will be lost.
After restoring, you can redownload your purchases using this:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Good luck

Got new ipad 4 now can't erase all data from old ipad2
Want to erase all data on old ipad2 because I bought a new ipad4 but it asks for Apple ID password and won't let me use password.
If "it won't let you use" your password, try resetting the password.

Follow these instructions. When you restore the iPod from backup as the article says your iPod will also be updated.

Can I access my husband's iTunes acct. from my iPad? i have his permission & pass code. We want to keep all music in one place & family accessible.
If you log into his account and download some of his past purchases on your iPad then you risk tying your iPad to his account for 90 days : iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
But it looks like that might change when iOS 8 is released in the Autumn (no date has been announced yet) : http://www.apple.com/ios/ios8/family-sharing/
If you have his content in your computer's iTunes library then you could sync it from there instead of risking the 90 days association on your iPad. If you don't then you could copy it from his computer and then sync it to your iPad e.g. copy his music to a flash drive and then add it to your library via File > Add To Library -
can no longer find my music and apps on itunes and when i try to sync it tells me its going to erase all that is in my phone and sync the new itunes which has nothing in it
See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash or

I have an iPhone 4s, but wifi the option is greyed out. The wifi stopped working on it months ago. Now I wanted to erase all content and setting from my old 4s and it will not connect to the internet, because the cellular data is no longer connected, since I bought a new iPhone 5c. I can't erase my phone by pluggin it into my Macbook Pro, since I can't disable the "Find my iPhone" App without internet. How do I erase all the data and setting on my 4s without connecting to the internet? It is running ios 7

I just did it. To enter DFU mode, I had to use "method 3" on this post

Too bad my 4S is 2 years old. Wifi is dead. I had to upgrade to 5S, but 5S is soooooo much faster than 4S so it's kind of good outcome. Without the 4S breaking down, a stingy person like me would have never upgraded the phone. -
I just purchased a new macbookpro and I would like to put the music from my iphone to my macbook. I have downloaded from iTunes, however it want to add ALL music to my macbook.
When you plug in the iPhone, go to the menu bar and select "Transfer all purchases" to move them to your MacBook Pro.
If that doesn't work. Go here for a whole list of Apps that can help you.
I personally like Music Rescue the most. You can get it here and use the License Key that they give out for FREE now. -
I have a 3GS. The iPod on the phone has made duplicates of some songs. I’ve tried using the “get info” dialog box to set all the information the same but the dups are still there. Even after erasing all music with iTunes, iTunes is empty but they are still on the phone.

I want to delete all music not Syncing, iTune want to delete everything
I want to delete all music in my iPhone to gain space as I do not use it for listening music anyway.
My old computer was stolen and now when I plug my iPhone in itune and try syncing ZERO music it say it will erease everything.
I fear it will remove my Apps, apps data, photo and most importantly I fear it will change the order of my icons.
I do not have ticked anything but "Sync music" will it delete all music or EVERYTHING ?
Someone told me I should use WinSCP to delete the file manually,
Any help would be greatly apreciated.I believe MediMonkey will do that. It requires iTunes to be installed, but you don't need to open iTunes or anything.
http://www.mediamonkey.com/information/free/
It is free but only available for PC and not for mac.
I used to use it when I had a PC, and I think you can just select all the iPhone music on it and delete it. -

How to I delete all contact on my iPhone at once? These are contacts ABOVE the contact folder that says, "From My Mac."
Someone said create a new empty folder on the computer and sync to that -- didn't work .
Another person said, "Reset information in settings to restore to the default." That would erase ALL of the conetent I have on the phone and I do not want to erase all of the other settings and content from my iPhone -- just the contacts.
There has to be a better way than gong through and deleting one-by-one.Go into Settings...Mail, Calendar and Contacts and siwtch off the Contacts section from the account in question.
The phone should ask you if you want to keep or erase the contacts stored on you phone.
However, if they aren't synched to anything and only exist on your iPhone, you'll have to delete them all one by one -
I want to delete all music on my i-Phone and reload what I want...have tried to do it manually on i-Tunes and by just selecting specific songs, but nothing comes off my phone.
You might want a more Mac-centric version of that post which is directed more at Windows users.
iTunes will only give you the option to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here (you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well):

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide -
I have a G5 to sell and want to erase all my data from it, but the cd drive won't work so I can't use the OS10 start up disk. Any way to do it?
Do you have another Mac? If so, you can startup this one in "Target Disk Mode" (instructions here) and connect it to another Mac to delete the home folders (or the entire drive, if that's what you want).
One piece of advise, though: after deleting the data, and of course emptying the Trash, it wouldn't hurt to also securely erase the "free space" of the drive (instructions here) before disconnecting the old Mac from the new one. This can be helpful, since "deleted" data is often retrievable with ease unles it's written over after the deletion. -
