Want to extract my text messages on N97 to normal ...

Hey guys,
do any of you knows about it ?
I want to convert my text ( inbox, sent, draft) to some normal regular file format which I could be able to read them very easily.
I want it to be on normal windows notepad format (txt) or Microsoft word format

The only way to do so is by restoring from a backup that contains the deleted messages. Note, this will remove any data on your phone not contained in the backup you restore from. No backup, no way to recover anything.

Try this...
have a text convo with the person you want to delete. Go to the top contact in the text convo, hit edit contact, and delete that contact.
That resolution came from another thread on this issue, and this did solve to poster's issue.

Have your brother create a contact in his phone for himself. Inside his own contact, have him add his phone number and his iCloud address.
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive Have your brother select both his phone number and email addresses where he would like to receive iMessages.

click your phone app, tap on contacts, choose the contact you want to block, scroll down and click "block this caller"

I want to download my text messages to my computer

I want to download some text messages (in and out) to my computer so I can make a hard print copy of them. I want them to show the date they were sent and received also. Can someone help me with this? I'm competent on the computer and have no problems but the Iphone is a little tricky for me for some reason.

Messages are only downloaded by iTunes as part of the iPhone backup, and are only there for the purposes of restoring the phone (they can't be read separately). You would have to use 3rd party software such as PhoneView (mac) or Touch Copy (pc or mac) to accomplish this.

Text messages are included in your iPhone backup. Before switching over to the new phone, back up the old one, then restore this backup to your new phone. Well, I was typing up a solution for ya and decided to test it to see if it still worked, but apparently it doesnt, at least not with cingular/at&t. You used to be able to send text messages to people via e-mail by using their [email protected] The syntax might have changed. I would check into this and see if it's available for AT&T still and for the networks the other people you want to text at the same time are using. Add that as the person's e-mail address in your contact list and just e-mail them all at the same time on the iphone.

I have experienced the exact thing. restore from itunes OR iCloud has successfully restored all my settings, EXCEPT EVERY-SINGLE-MSG. lol. Nothing. Even repeated it., no luck .
It seems to be a hit or miss.
I've read people from 3GS-i5, 4s-i5, not having the issue....meanwhile, you and I are lucky enough to have experienced it. Oh and also it's not across the board. Some people only lost certain SMS which weren't in their contacts...how odd?

If they are still stored on your phone, with the BB you may be able to print them; if not natively, you may be able to download an app that will do that. Offhand, I'm not familiar with one, but google may help. -The iPhone may have an app that will allow this as well. Two to three YEARS? That' s a lot of texting!!

HELP!!! I need to update to 2.0 but I dont want to lose my text messages...

I need to update my iPhone original 16 gb to the 2.0 software version but I cannot lose the text messages that are on the phone now. I have a few vital text messages that I cannot lose because I need them for court. The problem is, I need to do a screen print of them so I can email them to myself & then print them out. I need to update the iPhone in order to do the screen print, so i'm at a loss of what to do.
Does anyone know anything about if I will lose the text messages for sure or not? I have read a few posts about people who have lost their info, but it sounds like they are just a select few. If it's not a definite, i'll just go ahead, cross my fingers, & update the phone.

2.0 is a couple of updates ago. We are on 2.1 now. You shouldn't lose anything. I never have.

With an iPhone having iMessage enabled on the iPhone with the same Apple ID as is enabled with iMessage on your iPad, the iMessages received and sent with the iPhone would be available in the Messages app on your iPad, but not with text messages - SMS/MMS, and there would be nothing preventing your child from turning iMessage off on the iPhone exchanging SMS/MMS only.
