getInitParameter("SRDemo.FILE_UPLOADS_DIR");
if (fileUploadLoc == null) {

Htmlb:get the values from bean n display it in textView
Hi,
I am doing one PDK application using jspdyn page. In jsp page I am using htmlb to display the table. In that I am using one text view element. There I need to get the values from bean class.And display it in a table.
Can anyone help me how can use the textView inside htmlb to retrieve the values from bean.
Thanks & Regards
Vineelahi vineela,
For the textView, in the text value write the code <%=myBean.getStr()%>
where myBean will be your bean class and getStr() is the method in the bean class whcih returns value which needs to be displayed on the screen.
Thanks

How to get string value from xml in JSF??
In JSF How to get string value from xml, .ini and properties file. I want to get string value from xml or text to JSF
Just use the appropriate API's for that. There are enough API's out which can read/parse/write XML, ini and properties files. E.g. JAXP or DOM4J for xml files, INI4J for ini files and Sun's own java.util.Properties for propertiesfiles.
JSF supports properties files as message bundle and resource bundle so that you can use them for error messages and/or localization. -
How to get old value from IWDCustomEvent
Hello All,
I have applied a Listener on a field value. I want to get old value from the IWDCustomEvent as well new value when event will get fire. Is it possible in Web Dynpro.Hi
Probably you need to get the record from backend base on the date of insertion. and then store it into the WD context, and simple java to compare the old and new record based on date of insertion and again put back to WD Context then finally you can use WDCustomEvent to get the data.
Hope it will help you.

otherwise returns NULL valuee.
already i set the checkbox properties alsoo
Checked :Y

try
OAMessageCheckBoxBean cbb=(OAMessageCheckBoxBean)webBEan.findChildRecurssive("item240")
String test = cbb.getvalue(pageContext).toString();
catch(Exception e)
String test = "";
this way you can handle null pointer exception.

Inserting sequence value from JDBC and getting the same value back
Hi: Gurus I have a table whose primary key is a sequence. I wonder how to make sure I get the same sequence value back for current transaction so I update the other table whose foreign key is the sequence value from first table.
E.g lets say I do this
String query_insert = INSERT INTO table1 (column1, ....) VALUES (HIGHLIGHT_ID_SEQ.nextval, ...);
pstmt = con.prepareStatement(query_insert);
pstmt.executeUpdate();
How I make sure no other transaction update the sequence value so I can read the last inserted sequence value and update the second table with this value
String query_select = "SELECT HIGHLIGHT_ID_SEQ.currval FROM DUAL";
pstmt = con.prepareStatement(query_select);
Regards,
Rashid.<rant>No version again. I wonder why people requiring help want to stay anonymous and never want to type their version, only 4 digits. In this case, jdbc, not only the version of the driver is important, but also it's type. Waving a magic wand again? </rant>
Look up the returning into clause of the insert statement in the sql reference manual for your version.

Get properties value from a bean
Hello
I just began with JSF and have a problem. I konw how to save and get properties value into/from a bean from/into a jsf page. But how can I get the values from a other java class? I would like to get the properties from the bean A and use them in the class B and write them at the end back into the bean. What would be the easiest way for this?
Thank you for the help!
Best regards, mikeDepending on the scope of your bean (request/session), have a look to the related method (getSessionMap or getRequestMap ) from ExternalContext class (accesible from FacesContext.getCurrentInstance)

NullPointerException - Cannot get the value from variable f_cashGiven
In SubCheckout.java (a POS), what I want is when Payment button (f_cashPayment) is pressed, the action "Cash" is performed, get the value from Cash Given (f_cashGiven), do the subtraction and post the value as Cash Return (f_cashReturn). The code is filled in actionPerformed. But I cannot get the value by using f_cashGiven.getValue() from VNumber class. It returns NULL. This should be quite straight forward, but I do not know what is wrong. Please help!

How to get selected value from selectOneRadio ???
Hi...i want to how to get selected value from selectOneRadio and use it in another page and in backing bean.
Note i have about 10 selectOneRadio group in one page i want to know value of each one of them.
Plzzzzzzzz i need helpYou have a datatable in which each row is a question, correct?
Also in each row you have 5 possible answers that are in a radio, correct?
So,
You need to put in your datatable model, a question, and a list of answers (5 in yor case) and the selected one.
So you will have a get to the question, an SelectItem[] list to populate the radios and another get/set to the selected question.
ex:
<h:selectOneRadio value="#{notas.selectedString}" id="rb">
<f:selectItem itemValue="#{notas.valuesList}"/>
</h:selectOneRadio>

How to get selected value from SelectOneChoice
Hi,
I'm facing a problem to get selected value from SelectOneChoice. I have valueChangeListener event on a (SelectOneChoice)item. After user makes a choice I want to store selected value in a bean property to pass it to a method.
For example List item shows dname from dept table after user makes a choice I want to get deptno and populate into bean which I use to pass into my method.
If I use valueChangeEvent.getNewValue() I always get negative value instead I want deptno selected. Sample code pasted below.
public void setDeptno(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
BindingContainer b = getBindings();
OperationBinding oB = b.getOperationBinding("setDeptno");
//Checking instance of because same method is called from another text inputText item.
if (valueChangeEvent.getSource() instanceof CoreSelectOneChoice){
CoreSelectOneChoice cN = (CoreSelectOneChoice)valueChangeEvent.getSource();
if (columnName.getId().toString().equals("deptDname")){
JSFUtils.setManagedBeanValue("dept.deptDeptno",valueChangeEvent.getNewValue());
}if your selectOneChoice has value equal to #{bindings.deptno} bound to the iterator Dept1Iterator,
then the backing code will look more like
public void setDeptno(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
BindingContainer b = getBindings();
OperationBinding oB = b.getOperationBinding("setDeptno");
//Checking instance of because same method is called from another text inputText item.
if (valueChangeEvent.getSource() instanceof CoreSelectOneChoice){
CoreSelectOneChoice cN = (CoreSelectOneChoice)valueChangeEvent.getSource();
if (columnName.getId().toString().equals("deptDname")){
FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
Application app = ctx.getApplication();
ValueBinding bind = app.createValueBinding("#{bindings.Dept1Iterator.currentRow}");
Row row = (Row)bind.getValue(ctx);
JSFUtils.setManagedBeanValue("dept.deptDeptno", row.getAttribute("deptno"));
} I haven't tested it, so it could perfectly not work at all -

I can anybody explain me clearly.
Thanks&Regards
kranthiHi Kranthi,
Every webdynpro component has a global controller called the component controller which is visible to all other controllers within the component.So whenever you want to share some data in between 2 different views you can just make it a point to use the component controller's context for the same. For your requirement (within your popups view context) you will have have to copy the component controllers context to your view. You then will have to (programmatically) fill this context with your desired data in this popup view. You can then be able to read this context from whichever view you want. I hope that this would have made it clear for you. Am also giving you an [example|http://****************/Tutorials/WebDynproABAP/Modalbox/page1.htm] which you can go through which would give you a perfect understanding of all this. In this example the user has an input field in the main view. The user enters a customer number & presses on a pushbutton. The corresponding sales orders are then displayed in a popup window for the user. The user can then select any sales order & press on a button in the popup. These values would then get copied to the table in the main view.
Regards,
Uday
