Want to go wireless, what do i need?

I currently have an imac g4 that is hooked thru cable modem.
I want to go wirless on my tivo and go wireless w/ a mac laptop (don't have the laptop yet, getting one for xmas, it will have wirelss capabilities)
what all do i need and do i need to have airport or can i use linksys instead?
essentially, i want to keep the imac g4 "wired" and the rest wireless.

I have an old airport base station that worked really well when I was connected to the internet through dial-up, but when I got the cable connection (through comcast) it just always dropped and I had a lot of problems, hence the move towards using the G$ as the base station.
However, I would like to make the G4 part of a wireless network so it doesn't have to be near a cable outlet. I tried the airport base station a couple of nights ago, but to no avail. I am not sure I was configuring it properly.
Would airport express connected to a cable modem work? Or do I need to go with one of the wireless routers you spoke of?

You are unfortunately out of luck with an Intel Mac and OS X 10.4.11<br />
Best would be to update to OS X 10.5 or later if you want to use Firefox 4 and later versions (current is 8.0).<br />
There is a Firefox 8 compatible third-party version TenFourFox from www.floodgap.com for a PowerPC Mac, but no alternative for an Intel Mac with Mac OS X 10.4.<br />

All iPads (except the first gen which doesn't have a camera) are capable of taking videos. What version of iOS do you have on your iPad ? With iOS 7 you slide the Video / Photo / Square options up/down so that the one that you want lines up with the yellow dot to their left - is that how you are trying to select Video ?

Modeum to internert with out airport is working, airport goes amber when pluged in. have used before ok as bridge w/prosafeVPN. Do not want to use VPN what do i need to change?

I took out the pro safe that was after the modum and before the airport extreme, the internet works fine direct to the modeum, but when I plug the modeum diecrt to the airport extreme i get an amber light. I would think Airport Express would do the job (this is UK store site but it should be available wherever you are):

It has an audio output socket and air play will stream music from your mac to the device wirelessly. If you want to listen to the radio will need to do so via iTunes or use a program such as Airfoil (free):

Wireless internet--what do i need?

I just bought a 14 inch iBook g4. It says it has built in AirPort extreme. But I have no idea how to use it, really, and can't find an explanation anywhere. Do I need to buy a base station? All I have is the computer. What do I need in order to connect to the internet at a local coffee shop, which has free Wi-Fi? Do I need any extra equipment? Do I have to fill in information about service providers and things? Also, what if I want wireless in my home, which obviously does not have free WiFi? What do I need to do then? Maybe this has already been asked, but I have searched and there is no clear how-to about how I get this set up. Please help!

Here are your options:
1)Go to a coffee shop (Starbucks) and pay for internet service from there.
2)You can buy an Airport Base Station (Airport Express/ http://www.apple.com/airportextremeAirport Extreme). They will both work with your card
a. You will need a service provider. Comcast, MSN, Earth Link, etc. EarthLink and Apple have a pretty good package. You should get your local phonebook and look for service providers.
b. Follow directions on Airport Base Station/Service provider and your done

sharepoint could definitely be acessed from a browser on an iOS device....you might want to start with the enterprise deployment guide..the question you have is a big one and there are a lot of operational issues.....the deployment guide will start with how to implement iOS devices in an enterprise environment...

You need 10.7.5 or later for iCloud.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.

Do you connect to the internet via an Ethernet broadband connection? If so you simply need any 802.11b or 802.11g compliant wireless base station.
You would connect your base station to your Ethernet broadband connection and then wirelessly connect with your iBook.

You can only buy content from your own country's store i.e. the Egyptian store if you are in Egypt - you need to be in a country to use its store, so to use the US store you will need to be in the US and have a US billing address on your account. If there is an app or any other item that you would like to be buy that isn't currently available in the Egyptian store then you can try requesting that it be added, but unless the app's developer or rights-holder agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

Thanks Community! I solved the problem. In fact it was not a problem but lack of understanding. These guys at Apple are way ahead in thir thinking. I will try to explain as short as I can.
In Lion, ihe Prefferences/Display show only two choices: 6-7 steps of resolution and some color tab. No two screens, no two display to overlap, nothing for us to do. "That was the problem"! Everything is automatic.
When I connected the HDMI cable to the Miniport into a T-bolt slot, the TV screen showed the "spiral galaxy" how Zyriab is calling it. In fact he gave me the best clue. That shows the connection is good. But where is the Mac Book image?
You have to drag it to the right out of the Mac Book display area, and "voila!" it will continue on the TV screen. The same with the mouse pointer, push it out ofthe Mac Book display area and you see it on the TV sreen. Good image, you can keep the max resolution, etc. The sound is still on the Book's speakers. I have to figure that out.
