Want to know largest Single Monitor I can attach to my 17'' macbook pro

Hello,
I have a Macbook Pro, 17'' with 2 GB Ram and 2.16 ghz dual core processor. I day trade the currency market and want to add the single largest monitor I can to my mac. If there is a possibility of running some type of splitter and have two monitors, that would be ideal. I have a laptop stand with some fans built in to help keep things cool as well. If I can't get larger than a 20" screen, I may have to get an entirely new computer and really don't want to.
Thank you,
Jason

Will the 30" work simply by plugging it into my macbook pro?? Here is the details I have on my macbook pro, hopefully you can tell from this if I need any upgrades or not:

• Hello MacBook Pro Musicians- I cannot read sheet music from the ipad. It is too small. I want to connect a large monitor, hopefully wirelessly to my 13 inch macbook pro. what would I need to connect ? Any suggestions on how to keep monitor from falling?

Hello Macbook Pro Musicians--I cannot read sheet music from my 13" macbook or from an IPad. The print is too small for these aging eyes! So I need to get a large monitor to attach to the Macbook. I want the monitor to be connected wirelessly or using a blue tooth. This will eliminate alot of potential mishaps
when playing out. Also I am having a time figuring out how I am going to safely keep the monitor on somekind of music stand without falling!!! Can anyone help me with this?

Hi Julius,
As you can see in my profile section, my MBP is older by 5 years, 2GB RAM and with regards to question 1 (Q1), has no problems with having all those programs open at the same time with the possible exception of Photoshop since I use Gimp instead. With twice the RAM and much overall much better specs, Photoshop shouldn't be an issue. But you listed some other activities that might need that additional RAM. But the advise most give is to not get it from Apple but from a third party.
Q5 - I always get Apple Care. Only had to use it once but it paid for itself that one time.
Sorry, can't help you much with the questions you really want answered since I won't have a new MBP until (hopefully) next week but for Q4, I believe it depends on the peripheral. My current monitors are too old to allow them to be hooked up in a chain. Supposedly, if the monitors do have the ports, you could via the MBP Thunderbolt port. The speeds are also dependent upon the peripheral. If the external hard drive is using a USB 2 port, you are limited by that speed (480 Mb/s). If it has a Thunderbolt port, then from what I understand, we, my friend, are in for some great times because I believe your RAM will have the ability to access data as fast as it can take it at 10Gb/s (and if will need those kinds of speeds, the 8GB of RAM may be the way to go). The Thunderbolt demos on YouTube where they are accessing four video files from a Raid drive, then sending them back out via Final Cut Pro to a monitor are amazing. I'll probably never push this machine to anywhere near it's limits but I can't wait to see what others do.
Peace,
Jeremiah

• I want to know why a middle or high schooler should get a macbook pro.

A Mac is a very expensive for someone your age, not only that you will have to learn Windows to educate yourself and get a job as nearly everyone used Windows at work.
Installing Windows on a Mac is no easy process and it costs money as you have to buy a Windows license, then Apple upgrades the Mac operating system annually which you will have to replace and all your software with newer versions.
Ideally unless your rich, you should get a regular Windows 7 laptop for about $400 or so, because there are some things about computers and how to handle them that having a $3000 Mac is going to be a costly lesson if it's lost, broken or stolen.
Also Mac's last about 3-5 years, so locking all your files into a Mac only will cost you another $2000-$3000 the next time around, instead of a mere $400 with a Windows machine.
Most Mac users also have to run Windows to remain current or work with others, only a small portion of us use OS X exclusively.
If you want to 3D game, a Windows 7 tower is your machine, as you can replace the video card for newer, faster ones as newer/better games come out.
See the chart here, Mac's get blown away when it comes to 3D gaming, also there are more software choices on Windows.

• What is the largest hard drive that can be put in a Macbook Pro 17 MA897

I am looking to upgrade an existing Macbook Pro 17 model MA897 and am looking for the specifications as to the largest hard drive that can be installed and where is the best place to purchase drives.

The HDD makers have yet to breach the 1TB limit in the 2.5" formfactor. But there is hope, as one of the makers (Toshiba, IIRC) announced the discovery of a radical new way of magnetic encoding which will permit much denser packing of the magnetic domains in the rotating disk, and much higher capacities. Promised to come out with 3-4TB 2.5" devices before the year is out and maybe 10TB+ in the coming years. We'll have to wait and see.
BTW and since The Age of the Lion (and probably Mountain Lion too) has forsaken the need of an optical drive for system recovery, some users have decided to remove the no longer critical device and planting another HDD in its place. Might be looking into if you really need the capacity and don't care to lug even more weight above of what the 17" entails.

From the iTunes Store, yes, all your iOS devices running on the same account will qualify.

• I want to know if AirDrop and AirPlay can work on an iPhone 4S

I want to know if AirDrop and AirPlay can work on an iPhone 4S

I have had the same issue with VERY rapid battery drain, measured to the point of losing 2-3% post-calibration charge every 5 minutes at idle (no apps running, and screen off), plus the extreme heat generated. I was even losing about 1% charge every 15 mins while plugged into an Apple iPad USB charger.
I have been one-by-one disabling groups of services, and enabling parts of them in order to correct this. I have after days of trial and error found that (at least in my case), that nothing really made a significant difference until I turned off contact sync for iCloud, with all other iCloud services are on using the defaults.
I have left on Siri, all push (email and otherwise), notification, and location services, WiFi, bluetooth, and have brightness set to a comfortable 50% with auto-brightness on. (FYI: My other 5 emails are all set up as Active Sync)
In working through this process of elimination, I have now reduced my battery consumption to less than 1% battery charge loss every 30 minutes, and hope that it may help you as well.
Now I understand that everyone's setup and experience will be different, but this has been 3 days of initially freaking out and then finally getting down to methodical testing in order to avoid possibly having to return a faulty phone with extreme overheating and battery problems. I'm not sure what the issue may be, but hope that it's just a bug, but until it's all fixed, I can live without iCloud contact sync.

• Can you WIRELESSLY connect a macbook pro to a monitor to have extra work space on a separate screen from your macbook? (not mirror, extra monitor/workspace)

Can you WIRELESSLY connect a macbook pro to a monitor to have extra work space on a separate screen from your macbook? (not mirror, extra monitor/workspace)
It needs to be wireless.
I am not asking about mirroring, but as a second screen.
Apple tv communties said the Apple tv cannot do this, but maybe another type device can?

My thunderbolt port stopped working on my late 2011 MacBook Pro rendering my external monitor useless--or so I thought.
Mac Genius suggested using the Apple TV via AirPlay Display as a $100 solution. Took me all of 6 minutes to figure this out as there are no directions in the Apple TV box supporting this. But, it does work and I am now back in business.
PS. Don't set up with bluetooth--seems logical but you want to use AirPlay Display under Settings > Displays.
Also, I originally thought my external monitor stopped working because I upgraded the OS. This time, it was definitely a hardware issue and not software. It also fixed a known sound issue my monitor had with Macs. First time in my 15 years I've ever had a ViewSonic have issues with an Apple product, too. Thanfully, it is now fixed.
Hope this helps.

No. but you can sell it privately and use the proceeds towards a newer used model.

Good luck and you are welcome.
Like I said, I bought one of their inexpensive enclosures and now can use the hard drive just as a source for the files that are on it...my external drives are much larger and faster so I just plug that drive in when I need something from it.
This one is on sale for $16 http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/ES2.5BPU2S/

I think the best you can do is use the System Information application (Utilities Folder), looking in the wireless section.

• How many single role we can attach to single user?

Dear Friends,
How many single role we can attach to single user?
Sachin

Hi Sachin,
The below parameter can be checked for this topic. Infact the limit is about 9000 for this parameter and typically i have seen ID's in 4.7 environment with around 150 roles or more...
Auth/auth_number_in_userbuffer
When a user logs onto SAP, the authorizations contained in the user’s profiles are copied to a user buffer in memory. The maximum number of authorizations copied is set by this parameter. The size of the buffer must always exceed the maximum number of authorizations as authorization checks are made only against those in the buffer.
Refer to OSS notes 84209 and 75908 for more detailed information regarding changes to the size of the user buffer.
Transaction SU56 shows the contents of the user’s user buffer and a total for all the authorizations in a user master record.
Hope this info helps

• How can I connect an old macbook pro...

How can I connect an old macbook pro with that does NOT have a Thunderbolt connection to a new 27 inch iMac? I only need to do this for one specific purpose, to be able to see the work I'm doing on the laptop in InDesign on the iMac's larger screen (at a larger size as it were, so I can see a double page spread (or even a whole page would be an improvement) in one go)? I gather it might be possible to get an adaptor but note that Apple don't seem to sell one. I know I could do this with the cinema screen but would rather do it with a new imac as that will have more use to me overall. It's a work laptop which I don't own so I don't own the Indesign to just be able to use that on an iMac. I have tried to connect monitors to the laptop in the past, but with no success at all. I hope someone can help . Thank you.

Im pretty sure you are talking about the M8536 which has an ADC Adapter.
you will have to daisy chain a thunderbolt to DVI adapter with an DVI to ADC Adapter.
the first adapter:

The second adapter is old so you may find used ones on ebay like this:

• Can I use my old Macbook Pro as an external disc drive while installing Windows 7 through boot camp?

I want to install the Windows 7 CD on the newest version of the 2013 Macbook pro 10.9.2 running OSX Mavericks, through Boot Camp. It does not have a disc port, nor do I have an external disc drive....but I do have an older macbook that does have a disc drive and I know you can supplement it for an external disc drive.
My question is can I use my old Macbook pro's as an external disc drive for the installation of Windows 7 in Boot camp? Will this be a problem? Or do I have to buy an external disc drive separately.

• What can I delete on my Macbook pro and how?

what prorams can I delete on my macbook pro and how? I heard could delete some preloaded programs on my macbook pro and I would like to know how? I know that I can move app from to the trash to uninstall them but what all preloaded apps can I delete. I tried to delete photo booth, sticky notes, address book and could not so what can I delete and how?

I wasn't aware that you couldn't delete those programs, what happens when you try? Is there some reason that you want to delete them? They don't take up hardly any hard drive space or RAM to use them and they are useful programs, I think. If you're trying to gain more hard drive space, that's not going to do it. If you don't want them in your dock, just drag them out to the desktop and they poof away.
