Hi,
Does anyone can help us out with Oracle User Licensing.
We have most of the users as iExpense user or requisition users, means they use oracle only for entering their expense report or creating requisition. Does anybody have clarity that whether we still need oracle license for them?
Or is their any mini/small kind of license for these group of employees?
Say in a company of 5000 employees, only 200 uses oracle but do we need to buy lincese for all 5000, since we have to provide them iexpense responsibility for their expense report?
Any clarification on this matter is highly appreciated.

Before we go to Sales rep, we wanted to see if some companies have negotiated for iExpense user or temp user rates.
It will not make sense to buy the licence for 5000 users when only 200 are active users and 4800 are only iexpense or requisition users.
If we ask this question to oracle rep, they are bound to try to sell the full license to us.
Have you heard of situation like us anytime?

Hi Nanda,
Welcome to SDN,
Userxits allow us to add our own functionality to SAP standard program
without modifying it . These are implemented in the form of subroutines and hence are also known as FORM EXITs. The userexits are generally collected in includes and attached to the standard program by the SAP.
User exits are used when the flow for a particular transaction has to take some other route other then the normal flow. this can be the case when you have to attach some additional functionality lik u need a customised screen, or new functionality (using a functional module). based on these things user exits can be classified as screen exits, function module exits, field exits( not used anymore). hope this gives some help on userexits.
The naming standard of function modules for functionmodule exits is:
EXIT_<program name><3 digit suffix>
The call to a functionmodule exit is implemented as:
CALL CUSTOMER.-FUNCTION <3 digit suffix>
To find a Exit.
Goto Transaction -- Find The Package
SMOD >f4>Use the Package here to Find the Exits In the Package.
Else if you Want to search by Application Area wise ,
There is one more tab to find the Exits in the Respective Application Area.
Implementing the Exit-- CMOD Create ProjectsAssgn your Component .
Now Run ur Transaction to Check if it Triggers.

I feel your pain Robert. I do believe VZW and Apple knew all along the I6 Plus would not be available on 19 Sep and that it was a way to bolster new contracts, renewed contracts and apple sales stats. I want to know who did it, which TCode and when time of excute of the particular transcation run by user. Do sap as any report or TCode which will give me the details of who(user),when(start time),which ( TCode) the user excuted the TCode, And which are the tables stores this sensitive information in sap.

BBP_OM_STRUC_GET_USER_FROM_POS
Pass the position ID and you should get the SAP USER ID assigned to that position.

I want to know original user name insted of RFC_USER

I have two systems (like CRM& FI) , I have changed one FI table field value through CRM by using some RFC call. finally i able to find in CDHDR & CHPOS tables in FI server with User name RFC_USER. but I need original user name from the CRM , who was changed these field value.

Hi Siva,
with Transaction Code SM59 you maintain your RFC Destinations.
WIthin these settings you have technical settings, security, description and login properties.
In the login properties, check "Use current user" (RFCDISPLAY-RFCSAMEUSR), for that this user is used when calling the server.

We have the following Oracle Licenses for our project. Could you please explain us in detail about each of the following license type?
We have 4 different environment set up namely: Development, Testing, Pre-Production & Production (not live yet) and for each of them Oracle 11.2.0.3 was installed via Oracle Update website (https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/QuickLinks/process_form?type=nonapps). Is it fine to have software installed from this link or we need to Install using the Media pack received from Oracle having the OLSA?
Also, we plan to use AIX VIO (LPARs) on IBM P-Series Machines having 6 virtual processors. We want to know how much licenses would Oracle Enterprise Edition count as per CPU.

Oracle's XMLSchema Processor

Given Oracle's below release note dated April 13, 2001 -- Does Oracle's XMLSchema processor support the May 02, 2001 W3C XMLSchema Recommendations? Since the below statement refers to the "candidate" recommendation? Information about this question isn't clear on the Website.
This is the production release of 9.0.1.0.0.
The schema processor complies with the W3C XMLSchema Candidate Recommendation.
Finally, does Oracle's XMLParser run on 8i? Since my current project now runs on 8i and is in the works to upgrade to 9i(~4 months from now). I really don't want to do this all over again when it upgrades.
