Want to learn Oracle SOA

Hi guys,
I am interested in learning SOA. i don't know where i have to start? Can you please provide the materials and tutorials? I have one more question how much time it will take to learn Oracle SOA?
Thank you,
Ravi

Hi
Oracle documentation is the best resource to learn SOA.
If you are a beginner and now aware of the concepts of SOA, you may take a look at various blogs like www.soatutor.com.
And regd. time to learn SOA, it completely depends on how much time you spend. If you have your basics right, it is not very tough to learn. It probably might take around 2 months to have a good understanding on SOA Suite(most of the components) spending around 2 hrs a day :)

  • I want to learn oracle

Dears i want to learn oracle DBA i m already good in PL/SQL tell me from where i can get daily lesson. plz help me.

    Hello,
For Oracle Applications there is another forum:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=11
For Learning Oracle Application Server, I'd start with the Oracle Documentation:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/index.htm
Look at the "Getting Started" Tab with all of the Quick Installation Guides for your platform. Learn what the different types of installations are and figure out what you need to do what you want.
Once you have an installation and have the basics, there is a certification track for Oracle Application Server that may be a good way to organize your learning.
See Oracle Certifications for more details: Exam#1Z0-311 Oracle Application Server 10g: Administration - http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=60#1
You may also want to check out the following from Oracle Press:

  • Want to learn oracle hrms/payroll

    hi there,
i want to learn oracle apps hrms modules.
please give me some tips guide lines etc
i have strong background of oracle 8i and 10g. now i want to switch to oracle apps

Hi, i think the best approach is the documentation library for the R12 of 11i form the OTN.
I think these are the documents are what you probably already have, the use of the e-TRM's is always helpful if you doing any development / extension / technical work with applications. Such as data migration routines, custom reporting or user defined function etc for payroll.
If you look at the software downloads section, at the botton of the page that lists all oracle downloads there is an option to download apps via the e-delivery method :-

    Good luck

  • Want to learn oracle financials

    Hi folks,
My background is in accounting. I have been working in oralce environment (pl/sql) for the past 1.5 yrs. I would like to learn oracle financials but do have the resources to pay for the class. However, if there is a way to learn by buying and learning from books or if I can download (for a minimal fee) can anyone let me know.
    Regards,
    Sri

    Sri,
I recommend the book "Special Edition: Using Oracle Applications" from QUE Books, available from Amazon.com or other web-book sites. It will cost approximately US $50 +/-. It is a very good overview of each of the applications (Release 10.7 and 11), as well as lots of other information about projects, consulting and consultants, technical issues, etc. Good luck! - Pat

  • Oracle SOA with ADF library

    Hi,
I am learning Oracle SOA with ADF as mentioned in the below URL:-
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-095536.html
I want to know what is .jws,.jpr,.jpx files? Whether these are autogenerated files from JDeveloper? What is the purpose of these files? which is not clearly mentioned in the site.
    1) What I found is like, i have "n" number of composite services in "CompositeService" folder with a common .jws file which will hold the configuration (.jpr) of the other composie services, by doing so it does integrate all the services into a single cohesive unit?
    2) There is a "infrastructure" folder which does have .jws with the DB Schema which is commonly used by the composite services? This infrastructure will be referenced in the individual composite services to communicate with the DB?
    3) While deploying it in Oracle WL server, we will create a single .WAR for these composite services and will be deplyed?
    4) The packages javax.xml.ws (for webservices) all these are part of ADF library?
    5) I found that BPEL is the one which orchestrate the services, which is a XML file which will be similalr to common .jws which holds the config for all the composite services? Where exactly it comes to the picture?
    6) Simarly where exactly the SCA and SDO comes to the picture?
Please clarify in respect to the application, which will be of great help.
    Thanks in advance.

Guys, no replies. Please respond. Thanks in advance.

  • Required archive file to do purchase order processing project in oracle soa

    hi,
im learning oracle soa 11g.i want to do purchase order processing project.but i cant find the pre-required archive files in net.can any one suggest where can i find this file

    Hi,
Are you using Jdeveloper on a windows machine? If you are then this might be a useful tip.
Click Tools -> External Tools. It will prompt you to setup common tools. Let it do this. Now when you right click on your project you will get an Explore Directory option. I use this a lot when copying XSD’s between projects.
Once you have done this you need to click the refresh button in the Application Navigator to ensure the new files appear.

  • I want to Learn webcenter

I want to Learn Oracle WebCenter.
    Please guide me.
    I have jdeveloper 11g(11.1.2.3.0) installed.
    Thanks,
    Dilip

What steps have you taken so far?
There are Oracle University classes that are quite good.
There are many blogs out there that are quite good.
There is the Oracle.com WebCenter homepage that contains the documentation, software, and community links. It is also quite good.
There are many resources available to start learning, but you must take the first step and read. Read the blogs, read the forums, but most of all, read the documentation. At least the summaries and table of contents to see where information is. When you need to answer a question, to to the manual. Chances are, there's a walkthrough just waiting to be followed.

  • Need Best way to start learning Oracle 11g  DBA

    Hi.This is Tejaswi.
I want to learn Oracle 11g DBA.I've downloaded all software's and Documentation for Orcl 11g R2. Now. i want to start Learning DBA. Can any one suggest me the best way to Start learning DBA?
Please suggest me the good books For Oracle Architecture and SQL.......

    Hello Tejaswi,
The advice you got about reading the Oracle Concepts and 2 Day DBA documentation is very good advice.
I found that knowing some SQL*Plus and SQL Developer was also very helpful as, they both provide a way to interface with the database and try the things you read about. For SQL Plus, I used the book:
Oracle SQL*Plus: The Definitive Guide, 2nd Edition
    By Jonathan Gennick
    Publisher : O'Reilly
ISBN : 0-596-00746-9 I openly recommend it. It is easy to read, the book is very well thought out, it covers what you really need to know (and more too). The author explains the subjects very well. I would definitely learn some SQL Plus and SQL developer before getting into the 2 Day DBA document (make those 2 days about 7 days each if not more).
To learn SQL, I "sort of" used (I say "sort of" because I only read some parts of it available online and at the local bookstore):
    Oracle SQL by Example
    By Alice Rischert
Publisher: Prentice Hallit probably has more SQL than you'd need as a DBA but, it is an excellent book you may want to consider.
If you are starting from scratch, as I did, you'll find that you need to learn multiple things at the same time. I believe SQL Plus is the best place to start, along with possibly the Concepts document. That will give you a base to build upon.

    John.
