Want to make microsoft front page my editor

Is it possible on Firefox to make a program such as Microsoft FrontPage , web publishing software, my editor so that after I publish a new web page I can edit it in Firefox

Hi,
Based on the error message, this issue might be caused by the ODBC drive version does not match the Excel version. To resolve this error, use the 32-bit odbcad32.exe to configure or remove the DSN.

  • Can iWeb make changes (update) to Web site made with Microsoft Front Page

    Hello,
Our local historical society hired a web master to create a web site for us. He made it with Microsoft Front Page. I was able to make changes until my husband upgraded to Microsoft Office integral 2007. My question is: Would I be able to continue making changes or upgrades to this site but using iWeb '08 instead? I would much rather use my Mac than his IBM.
    Thanks,
    S Craig

No. iWeb can only create and edit sites that have been created from scratch in iWeb. What you might be able to do is download the files in the current site and use the image and graphic files to make a duplicate site in iWeb.

  • Compatibility of Microsoft Front page 2003 files with Adobe Dreamweaver 8

Compatibility of MS Front page files with Adobe Dreamweaver 8
We have developed quite few HTML and Gef files in Front Page
and wondering how much work is involved if we want to use
    dreamweaver now.
This will be great if you could sned us a document about the
compatibility of Microsoft Front Page with Adobe Dreamweaver 8.
    We appreciate your immediate reply.
    Thanks

Sure there was. It was central to all of FP's enhanced
    capabilities.
    > won't be editable.
It's much more than not being editable. They will be broken
    if you FTP
    files to the FP site.
    > Pretty much all you have to do is set up a site
    definition and point it to

    Technically correct, but woefully understated.

    (watch the wrap!)
Before doing anything else, take a couple of weeks to
    gothrough the DW
tutorials, and also to study HTML and CSS. The more you know
    about those,
the easier your transition will be. DW expects alot more from
    you than FP
did, and as a result, you may find it much more frustrating
    to have the raw
reality of web development staring you in the face rather
    than the wizards
    of FP.
    > Is there a way to convert a Frontpage site into a
    > Dreamweaver site
    1. I'd define a Dreamweaver site that points to a location on
    your hard
drive for the local site's root, and to the current FP site
    on the web as
    the remote site
    2. I'd use Dreamweaver (if your host supports FTP
    connections) to download
the remote site to the root of the site you just defined on
    the hard drive.
This will pick up all the pages *after* webbot action so that
    shared borders
and all are already present in the page HTML. This will also
    pick up all of
the server scripting. Note - in the event that you are not
    able to connect
using FTP since some FP hosts block that protocol, you will
    have to use a
third party 'site copier' like Black Widow, QuadSucker, or
    WebCopier, (or
even the DW extension called SiteAssist from WebAssist) to
    connect and
download using http protocols. Doing it this way will *not*
    retrieve any of
your server-script code, if any (unless you have used the
    WebAssist
    extension).
    3. I'd create a DW template for the pages, that captures the
    "shared
    border"
    effect you had in FP.
    4. I'd copy and paste content from each FP pages to a new
    template child
page and then save the new child page with an easily
    identifiable
nomenclature that is distinct from what was used on the FP
    site (since you
are saving the new child pages into the same local site as
    the FP pages).
    5. When the basic site is completed, I'd upload the new DW
    pages to some
staging area/webspace, and by using the browser, I'd verify
    that the site
(as it now exists remotely) is complete.
    6. Then I'd create a *new* DW site in a new location on the
    hard drive, and
connect to and download all the files from the staging site.
    7. You can now delete the original FP site from your local
    system if you
    want.
You now have a complete site (minus any of the FP extension
    server-side
code) that has no FP footprint.
If you have used any FP server extension functions on the
    original FP site
(form processing, guestbooks, tables of contents, etc.), you
    will have to
recreate those functions in DW using 3rd party scripts, or
    scripts that you
    write yourself.

  • I want to make a web page using labview.

I want to make a web page using labview. I have the internet tool kit. Where do I start. Till now all I have used labview is for industrial I/O and mmi. I have used various TCP UDP comms for network purposes, but I haven't ever done anything with Web page design.

The internet toolkit has some functions for generating and manipulating HTML, but it isn't really intended as a Web page authoring tool. I personally wouldn't use it for such a purpose, and I've done a good bit of Web programming in various different environments, including LabVIEW.
The true power of the internet toolkit lies in its ability to create LabVIEW VIs to handle CGI requests, the way that perl or PHP might be used in more traditional Web development. In the old days, this was really the only way to provide Web interactivity with LabVIEW on the back end. Here is a document that outlines how to start up the toolkit's Web server and check out the CGI examples that ship with LabVIEW. This is the best jumping-off point for creating your own pages, if you are planning to use the CGI functionality in the internet toolkit. Just examine how the HTML pages and the CGI VIs in the examples work together and begin to try out your own VIs.
Since LabVIEW 6i, LabVIEW has shipped with Remote Panel functionality that allows you to publish any LabVIEW VI in a Web browser without the burden of creating special CGI functionality. Furthermore, users can fully interact with the VI--buttons, graphs, string controls, etc. That's really a better solution if you want to make VIs available via the Web and aren't so much interested in CGI/transactional behavior. Check this out by choosing Tools >> Web Publishing Tool from LabVIEW.
I hope this info gives you some ideas about starting points for Web functionality in LabVIEW. Please follow up if you have more specific questions.

    John

  • I want a 'date', on front page, to be reflected on all my headers automatically.

I have a document which has a date which is changed manually with every revision. Now I want that date to be reflected on headers automatically without manually editing header every time.

You have a number of options. If you use a:
    • DATE field, that will display the current date.
    • CREATEDATE field, that will display the date on which the file was created, or last saved via Save As.
    • SAVEDATE field, that will display the date on which the file was last saved.
    • PRINTDATE field, that will display the date on which the file was last printed.
These fields can all be inserted via Insert|Quick Parts|Field. Of the above, I'd be inclined to use the CREATEDATE field, saving the document via Save As whenever a revision is ready for release, then releasing it. For publication purposes, though, I'd recommend
the PDF format, as that ensures the users won't inadvertently change the date via their own Save As.
Note: If you prefer to type the date on the front page, you can apply a unique Style to it, then reference that Style via a STYLEREF field in the header. This field, too, can be inserted via Insert|Quick Parts|Field.

  • I need a slideshow to display my comic pages. I tried the one that comes with muse, but what if the user wants to make the comic page bigger?  How could that be done please?

also I like the look of the lightbox but don't want the thumbnails.  why, in this mode, is the thumbnail box uncheckable to make it go off?

    1. Use menu "File/AddFiles for Upload" to upload an image of whatever size.
    2. Place a smaller version of this Image or an icon of your choice on your page.
    3. Use the hyperlink command in the upper command strip to link the small image to the uploaded file ("Link to file …")
    4. If someone clicks onto the places image, the big version is loaded into an extra browser window and allows scaling..
Your second question: How should one trigger a lightbox, it there is no thumbnail to do it?
Alternative: Use the lightbox display composition and delete all triggers but one. Place into the lightbox a basic slideshow without any thumbnail. This way you have one trigger to start a slideshow within a lightbox

  • Front Page Object Editor

    Hi,
I have added frontpage add-in and under tools it is showing three options SAP xMII Object...,SAP xMII Configuration Menu....., SAP Script Assistant.....
SAP Script assistant is working fine but SAP Object is opening but couldn't show any templets in the windows. When I clicked Login and entered username and password it could not connect to server all.
I was wondering some where it is not getting which server it has to connect.
Can some please tell me where to specify the server name in Object editor.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas.

The standalone version does not use FrontPage server extensions, in fact only the FrontPage software itself uses the extensions to communicate to/from the IIS box.
The fundamental difference between the standalone and embedded version is how they communicate with xMII for namespace browsing query and display objects.  The standalone prompts the user for machine name and port, whereas the embedded one uses the application title bar string from FrontPage itself to parse the server path, which is why
server\c$ doesn't work, nor does F:\server\path - it needs http://servername:port or http://servername.  This only happens within FrontPage when you do either File...Open Site or File...Open Web (depending upon version) and physically type http://servername in the input box that shows up at the bottom of the dialog box.
Once FrontPage connects to the webserver the application title bar will read something like "Microsoft FrontPage - http://servername:port" and the Folder List tree header will say "http://servername:port".  Then and only then will the embedded one work like you want it to.

  • I want to make changes to pages document then have it update in iCloud, i want to make changes to pages document then have it update in iCloud

Keynote and Pages work just fine on my phone and ipad and sync with iCloud with no ploblems. My proble is when I access Keynote and Pages in iCloud from my Mac, it requires me to download the presentation or document in one of three choices. I down download it and make changes in Keynote or Pages; but I can not get it to update back in iCloud. If anyone could provide me with this secret step by step process I would be eternally greatful. Thank you

I just purchased Pages for my Mac assuming that it would sync with my iPad and iPhone ...
Boy, am I an idiot, thinking that Apple would design something to make my life easier, rather than try to extract more and more revenue from me and control each and everything I do in their "ecosystem."
I hope you get the fact that I'm being sarcastic here, I'm just a little upset that Pages does nothing of the sort: It ONLY syncs between mobile devices, not to your Mac desktop.
And so I look up from my lowly position and ask the great Apple: What is the point?  Why can't I seamlessly sync from my desktop to my mobile device?  Without this kind of functionality, iCloud is a joke ...

  • PDF does not open. Opens in Microsoft Front Page

My Adobe Reader was working fine until suddenly every time I try and open up a PDF it goes to a Microsoft program and asks to download a file I do not have. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Adobe Reader and it still does not work. Help!

Hi CLaudio and thanks for your speedy response.
FYI, I was able to resolve the issue by saving a PDF document on my desk top, and then going to "open with" Adobe 9.2 "these kinds of files all the time"
You wonder how these things happen out of the blue.
    Thanks again, Charlie

  • Can I adjust size of the photos on front page of the photo album template?

When I am working on a Photo Album page, how can I make the "front page" photos larger? I am talking about the photos arranged in rows, not the photos that show in the slide show carousel. Is it a set size in the Photo Album template or is it a consequence of how large a photo I set into the page?
Also, how is "large" defined? Is it about inches, or is it about resolution?
    — Lorna in Southern California

I found the large too large and the small too large.
How large do you want them Lorna?
    .......... Lorna says ................................................
Michael, where did you go to check to see that the large was indeed too large and the small too large? What method of adjusting the size are you using?
If you want them really large, why don't you just
plonk the real photo on the page sized as large as
you wish, and you can always link it to its own page
    with an even larger version!!
    .......... Lorna says ................................................
Michael, actually I misstated in my first post. Actually I would not like the photos in the Photo page to be too large, because then no one will be motivated to click onto the See Slideshow button.
My mind is getting so crammed with input and other people's websites that I now cannot even recall with certainty which pictures I wanted larger. 8-( Oh, this is giving me a cramped-in-the-chest feeling. I had best take a break now and finally eat a legitimate meal.

  • How do I make a multiple page pdf?

    Hi
I need to put about eight screenshots into one single PDF file.  In other words I want to make an eight page PDF from eight .PNGs.
How can I do this?  Is this possible with normal OSX tools like Preview or "Print as PDF"?   Or do I have to drag them into MS Word or Powerpoint or something?
    Thanks
    Marcus

Thanks Stefan.  That did the trick.
Although in my case it wasn't the OP on that MacWorld link, but one of the user comments further down the page that gave the answer.  I couldn't make documents by dragging icons onto eachother as the OP described - didn't work. Instead - it was almost easier:
    1. Open all docs in one Preview window.
    2. Select all those documents in the Sidebar  (Cmd A).
    3. Use File Print Selected Images (Op Cmd P)
    4. Print as PDF

  • How do I make a splash page?

Well I am wanting to make a splash page  so would like  a lot of information about them so I can make a good one or good starter one and thank you in advance.

To make sure we're on the same page, do you mean a "splash page" as in a "graphic/whizbang rich, look what I can do style, first thing the visitor sees" page?
The best advice I can offer if that's what you mean is: Don't do it.
The days of the "splash page" are far behind us now. If you want the best possible rankings in the search engines, don't use up your most valuable website real estate on something the search engines can't see or ignore intentionally. Don't force your visitors to have to "go through all of that again" just to get to your actual content when they come back to your site.
Your home page should be filled with keyword rich AND relevant html text (not blocks of spammy keywords) so search engines have something to sink their teeth into. If you want to show off, make a portfolio section on your site and put all your "look what I can do" info and ideas there.

  • How can I make two half page documents?

I have a full page flyer.  I want to make it half page with two flyers.  I tried making two columns and cutting the page in half, but the borders are wrong.  How can I make two half page documents?

You can do it with columns, just make the gutter twice the width of the outside margins.
However being a Flyer why not just create one on the left using Textbooks and Shapes then group that and option shift drag it sideways to the right to make a copy on the right?
