Want to Migrate SL Mail Accounts to G4 eMac Tiger?

I have just started using my old G4 eMac (Tiger) again.
The Mail accounts are all obsolete as I changed my ISP last year.
I would like to transfer my Intel iMac's new accounts onto the G4 eMac but don't wish to move all the old emails over.
Can it be done and how?
Regarding the obsolete accounts on the G4, I wish to keep the emails for reference purposes but don't want all the old accounts cluttering the Mail sidebar. Any suggestions?

If the eMac is stuck at Tiger, I suppose you might try moving a few new e-mails from the new machine, since they're separate emlx files and see if Tiger's Mail can read them. If so, that might be all you'd have to do. Alternatively, move the old ones over to the new machine and import them (appears that you might have to use entire Mailboxes). So collect the old ones into uniquely named mailboxes, copy them over to the new machine, and use the Mail->File->Import Mailboxes… option. Another WAG on my part since I rely on Eudora.

I want to move my mail account (exactly how it is on my laptop now) to my new mail account on mavericks (which is on a new SSD drive) then i am going to format the old hard drive so i can use it as an extra hard drive.

Export makes a mailbox package whihc I thinkis what's need to properly restore on import.

I also think if you copy everything in ~/Library/Mail you may be all-right.

You can setup Mail for iCloud on the eMac.
Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.

You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:

Give it time. Yahoo has had persistent issues the past few weeks. wait 24 hours or so and then try again.

Recently Migrated Files - Mail Accounts Grey out Randomly

I recently migrated files from an older Macbook running Tiger to a newer Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard. Now some of my email accounts grey out when I check email and the accounts that are grey are different each time! I can still retrieve email on the old computer so the problem is not my ISP or email provider. I have checked all the accounts and they appear to be the same as on the old computer. I did, however, re-enter all the info by hand just in case. I have run Connection Doctor and get different results every time even if I change nothing. Any clues?

Update: I tried taking all my accounts offline and retrieving mail from only one account at a time. This DID seem to work but it's unacceptable to have to retrieve email this way. I have 8 accounts. But maybe the additional info will help someone troubleshoot.

I want a BT e-mail account but can't set one up

Arrrrrgh...I am in a chicken and egg scenario.
My main e-mail account is a Hotmail one so I have never set up/used a BT e-mail account. However Mirosoft in their wisdom have now decided to introduce a further security passcode which they will only e-mail it to another e-mail account other than one which is my main Hotmail account Unfortunately the one that I have registered with them is a now defunct fsnet account.
Simple methinks, I will get them to e-mail it to my BT e-mail account instead which I have never used. However because my BT is set up to send e-mail notifications to my currently inaccessible Hotmail account I can't seem to set up a BT e-mail either.
Any help would be most appreciated...

Migrating MobileMe Mail account to iCloud?

Strange....
I have two MobileMe mail accounts. Only one of them moved to iCloud when I downloaded Lion 7.2 and the other stayed a "MobileMe" account. I can't figure out how to convert the remaining MobileMe account to an iCloud account.
I've tried setting it up in the Mail program by manually adding it as a iCloud account, but it doesn't work.
Any suggestions?
Note: It IS a separte e-mail account--not an alias account.

Are you using an @mac.com Apple ID, e.g., [email protected]? Try [email protected]; my daughter had the same issue with a recently created account & I found the following somewhere:

Apple mail migration from user account

Is it possible to migrate entire mail accounts from one user to another? I had to create a new user account to get some of my Adobe applications to work. In doing so, my mail data all resides in the old user account.

Nokia N8 program update + mail accounts

Hi,
I today had the software update in the update manager. After installation the Mail widgets say: Account <account>[11] not found. Delete account and add it again :-/
I really don't want to delete my mail account and create it again, because it was enough work to create it since nokia dosn't allow mail servers which are in different domains because of ther stupid automatic mail server lookup -.- Thats a shame.
Can anyone help?

I want to abandon my MobileMe account, but iCloud Setup insists on using it

I just installed the Lion update for iCloud support. I have a MobileMe account, mainly used for syncing between Mac and iPhone. I use a different account for iTunes and developer, and want to use that one as my single Apple ID. When I go into System Preferences for iCloud, it wants to migrate my MobileMe account, and there is no option to start with a different id.
- Can I get iCloud to setup with my other Apple ID?
- If I start with the MobileMe migration, can I then ditch it and use the other ID instead?

I have the FirstClass Client on my Mac for School email. Now I want to configure a Mail account using IMAP to connect to the firstclass server at my school so all of my mail accounts can be viewed through the Mail app.

I had POP3/SMTP working to our FirstClass 8.3 server (OS X) and just tried IMAP4 - seems to work (now).
I'm the administrator of both FirstClass ("inherited" it - not very knowledgeable I'm afraid) and our main mailsystem CommuniGate too.
We don't really use FirstClass for "regular" mail.
In Apple MAIL I log in using the User ID/pw and the IMAP setting seems to default to MD5 Challenge respons for the pw.
What's your problem?
Are IMAP4/SMTP enabled in the server? Can you portscan your server for open TCP ports 143 IMAP and 25 SMTP (those could be useing some other portnumber depending on server setting).

Sincro mail account in mavericks to iOS

I have several Mail Accounts in my Mail app on the iMac with osx Mavericks.
I need to make available all my Accounts on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) but in iTunes there is no more the Info tab to sincronyse the email Accounts.
I understand that all other contents (contacs, note, calendars) will sincronyse trough iCloud, but the mail Accounts?
I don't want re-input 24 mail Accounts set up info (account nome, password, pop, smtp, etc.) in each iOS devices...
Can someone help me?

How do I remove iCloud mail accounts from my iPad.

Hello. I want to remove 2 mail accounts from my iPad.
The accounts are located on the following path.
Settings- iCloud- Account- Advanced- Mail
The mail account appears here and I want to delete it.

sign out of icloud at setting>icloud>delete account and it will be gone

Removing an e-mail account in Mail

I want to remove my mail account from a secondary computer in the house and just have it on my main computer. I have gone to "account" in Mail and clicked the little minus button at the bottom, which does indeed remove the account. However, when Mail is relaunched, there is shows up again! It's as though it cannot be removed from this computer. Any ideas?? Thank you!

What version of OSX are you using? Is the subject account a .mac account? If it is a .mac account, open System Preferences/.Mac and remove the info there under Account (may depend of the version of OSX you are using).
