Want to move the mouse arrow without physical mouse

Hi There
I have my Mac Book connected to the TV almost 24x7 and I have a wireless keyboard and an apple remote but not the mighty mouse.
the issue is that I would like to be able to move the mouse arrow over the screen and click or doble click without having to buy a mouse. how can I do it? is that a combination like someting plus the arrow keys? is that possible to use the apple remote as a mouse? i mean it would be great too. is got the 4 directions and a button in the center for clicking.
any other solution?
many thanks in advance

Turn on keyboard navigation in the Keyboard shortcuts of Keyboard and Mouse prefs and you can use the keyboard to navigate through the menus, folders, etc. However, there is no way to drag.
Set full keyboard access to "All Controls" and you can tab through all the buttons in the dialog boxes. Use spacebar to "click" the selected button.
In the Finder, Cmd+down arrow opens a file/folder. Cmd+Up arrow goes up in the hierarchy.
Combine this with the previous tip and you can have it all, mostly.
Also, without any of that, esc or cmd+. cancels, and cmd+first letter of button usually selects the button. That last one is application specific.

  • I want to move the location of my iTunes Library db file but keep the media in it's existing location. Is this possible?

I want to move the location of my iTunes Library db files to a new location without moving the whole lot, including my Media file [Music, Films etc etc files]... in this case I want to move the Library db files to my iCloud Folder so I have a backup of the Library db File [ good idea huh :-) ]  and I should be able to open iTunes whether the media can be seen at that point or not.  is it possible to just move the Library files and then tell iTunes where they are so it can launch iTunes?
Is this just a case of cut and paste the Library files to the new location, then updating config in iTunes?
This may be a silly question but in my book, no question is silly if it needs to be asked.
    Any ideas, advise welcomed.

Thanks Chris but I think I have not explained it well enough.
    This...
I am using an iCloud Folder on my local Mac hard drive. iCloud Folder syncs with iCloud and works like a backup. It is a subscription service that Apple offer.
You should be adding them to iCloud, not your local drive.
Yes I understand how it works.
The iCloud folder on the local drive is (and should be) managed by the iCloud drive/OS, not you.
You are simply trying to work around iCloud drive.
I just want to know if I can move the iTunes Library cb files to a new folder/location on my macs local hard drive
... and tell iTunes where to look for the Library so that it can launch / startup
The iTunes library.itl file is part of the iTunes library.
I already back up my actual media files (music etch) by other methods.
You should back up the entire iTunes folder, not just the media.
If you wna to backup the iTune slibrary.itl, just copy it to the iCloud drive on the left side of aFinder window.
You don't need to go (and shouldn't) into the iCloud folder in your user library.
This is what the "guru" will tell you.

  • I want to move the location of my iTunes library music files. At present they are all on my time machine . I want to move them all to my imac. Can I do that and keep all my playlists and play counts? Thanks in advance

I want to move the location of my iTunes library music files. At present they are all on my time machine . I want to move them all to my imac. Can I do that and keep all my playlists and play counts? Thanks in advance
its 1000s of songs . Originally I used the time machine as a networked drive but it can cause the songs to pause so I'm thinking it would be better to have the songs on the internal imac drive
how can I move the songs so I can re-open iTunes and the playlists (with plays in the 100s) find the song in the new place?

Do you mean on your Time Machine backup drive? Or are you actually accessing the backup? In either case you shouldn't be doing that. If you haven't space on your HDD to store the iTunes Library, then at least put it on another external drive.
Since you did not provide any information about what's actually "on my time machine," here's what you would do. The entire iTunes folder should be stored in the /Home/Music/ folder. Within that folder you would have three folders: imm Media, iTunes, and iTunes Playlists.

I use iPhone 4S 8GB device. Want to move the back up from mobile device to computer. Can anyone help me on this?

It's not clear what you're asking. What mobile device are you talking about. iPhone back ups are ordinarily in one of two places: iCloud or a computer. The are not stored on the phone. If you're currently backing up your phone to iCloud and you want to back it up to your computer, you can do that using iTunes. You don't move a back up from iCloud to your computer.

  • Is is possible to use the iMac g3 without a mouse

Have a iMac g3 and wanted to know if I can access anything without a mouse, until I can find an original one.
    Thank you

Or you can use the up and down and sideways arrows to navigate through windows.  If you go to System Preferences>Keyboard>keyboard shortcuts, you'll find a long list of actions you can perform without a mouse.

  • I want to move the data from oracle 8.0.5 to oracle 10g

Dear Gurus i want to move my data exist in oracle 8.0.5 to oracle 10g, what is the simplest way to do that without loss of data and time.
    thanx and regard

Since you are on 8.0.5, there is no direct path upgrade for you.
You need to first upgrade to 8.1.7.4.1 at least before you can directly migrate to 10gR2.
You can refer Metalink note 316889.1 for this purpose.
Another option would be to simply export the data from 8.0.5 version and import into 10g database.
Simply stated, there is no method which will not take time for this purpose but there would be no data loss (assuming you are not going to change the character set of the database).

  • I want to print the front panel without all the header stuff while the vi is running

I want to print the vi front panel without all the header information that Labview puts at the top. I want to do all this while the vi is running by pushing a button.

One option is to use the the 'Print VI to Printer' method. Beware that invoking this method repeatedly with complex front panels has caused me graphics problems in my VI's display that persist until the development environment or the built .exe app is exited and re-entered.
    See: http://exchange.ni.com/servlet/ProcessRequest?RHIVEID=101&RPAGEID=135&HOID=5065000000080000005F5A0000&UCATEGORY_0=_49_%24_6_&UCATEGORY_S=0&USEARCHCONTEXT_QUESTION_0=spaz+print&USEARCHCONTEXT_QUESTION_S=0
NI has confirmed this to be a bug in 6.0x and 6.1 and has indicated that it will be fixed in the next version.
I was forced to fall back on the Append Front Panel Image to Report.vi in the report toolkit. Which does not produce printed graphs of as high as quality as the Print VI to
    printer method.

  • My old computer crashed. I want to move the music files from my iphone to my new computer. Have tried many things which dont work.

My old computer crashed.  I have the data on a flash drive but some of the music was purchased under an old appleID so it won't sync. I am trying to move the music from my iphone to the new computer but I am not having any luck.  Suggestions?

iTunes includes an option to transfer all iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iOS device, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes Store only.
To transfer the music from the flash drive that was purchased from the old Apple ID will require authorizing your new computer with that Apple ID with iTunes. The same for music or any other iTunes content on your iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes Store with that Apple ID.
With the iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
You will need to authorize your new computer with iTunes with each Apple ID that was used to purchase/download any iTunes content purchased from the iTunes Store on the iPhone with the Apple ID.

  • I moved itunes file to external hard drive and want to move the file on my pc to recycle bin. When I move i get an error message that it cannot delete ituneshelper.dll access is denied. Can I move that file to the recycle bin?

I am trying to free up space on my pc and moving itunes files to external hard drive. I have followed instructions and believe I have file copied to new drive, but I am having trouble moving file to recycle bin as the instructions say. I am getting the following error message: cannot delete ituneshelper.dll:access denied, make sure disk is not full or write protected and file not in use. I know the file is not in use when trying to move. Any help would be most appreciated. I am on Windows XP.

Yes. And you should not have moved that folder. Put it back. To move your iTunes library move the folder from User's Music.

    Menu>File>Vault
Creating what Ap[erture calls a 'Vault' seems like the easiest way to do it.
Here is the complete Help section on backing up your library.
    QUOTE:
As you begin working with Aperture, it’s important to perform regular backups of your photos. Using the Aperture backup system, you can create backups and update them whenever you wish. Aperture tracks your backups and indicates how up to date your most recent backup is. In the rare event of equipment failure or an unforeseen catastrophe such as a fire or weather-related damage, you can easily restore the entire Aperture library onto your computer or a new computer.
You set Aperture to back up a copy of the library to a designated storage area called a vault. For safety and redundancy, use external hard disks to hold your vaults. You can create as many vaults as you deem necessary.
When you back up your photos, Aperture makes a complete copy of the library in its current state. If you remove items from the library, those items are removed from the backup when it is next updated.
All originals for managed images, all versions, and all metadata, previews, and adjustment information associated with your photos are backed up. The versions, previews, and metadata associated with referenced images are also backed up in the vault.
Important:  Referenced images’ originals are not backed up in the vault with the library. Because the originals for referenced images are stored outside of the library, you must manage the backup and archiving of them yourself.
A typical backup system used with Aperture might look like the following:
This system backs up the Aperture library to two vaults stored on external hard disks. You routinely back up the library on one external hard disk. You use the second hard disk as a backup that you keep offsite. You can then rotate your onsite external hard disk with the offsite hard disk to keep all your vaults updated.
To set up your Aperture backup system, you need to do the following:
Determine the number of vaults you need. For example, do you need one for routine backups, one for weekly backups, and one for offsite storage?
Determine the number of hard disks you need for routine backups.
Determine the number of hard disks you’ll use for storing backups offsite.
Connect your hard disk drives to your computer.
Open Aperture and create the vaults you need, assigning a hard disk to each vault.
Update the new, empty vaults with copies of the Aperture library.
Disconnect one of the vault hard disks and take it to an offsite location for safekeeping.
When planning the amount of storage space you’ll need, estimate the amount of disk space needed to hold your existing digital images (photos you plan to import into Aperture) and the amount of space you might need for new projects. For example, RAW images typically require 8 to 25 or more megabytes (MB) of disk space per file. Estimating the number of photos in a typical project and the number of projects you usually create in a year, you can make a rough estimate of what might represent a year’s storage space.

  • How to generate 2 breakpoints on an encoder using the NI-7344 without physically connecting the encoder to a second axis?

    I'm using the NI-7344 motion-controller (for the control of 2 servo-motors) in combination with an E-series DAQ-card.
I need to acquire data at two different scanrates using breakpoints over RTSI, one channel for example every 10 encoderpulses, the second channel for example every 200 encoderpulses.
I'm using on onboard program that uses the modulo breakpoint for generating a pulsetrain over RTSI, but I also need a breakpoint (from an unused axis) to generate the other pulsetrain.
Is there perhaps a way to tell an axis to use the encoder from another axis so the breakpoint can be generated at this axis without having to connect o
ne encoder to two different axis?
    thanx

    Hello,
I am alittle confused about your application, but maybe this will answer your questions. In the "Configure Breakpoint VI" you can set the Axis or Encoder input as the following: Axis or Encoder is the axis or encoder to be controlled. You can enable Breakpoint Position on encoders mapped to axes 1 through 6 or directly on encoders 0x21 through 0x24.
So you can use an encoder that is not mapped to that axis.
Please let me know if this was not your question.
