Want to re-submit a Podcast

I'm very new to podcasting and tried to submit a podcast via podomatic.com. I used the following feed http://djnicoboy.podomatic.com/rss2.xml and have submitted thru Itunes.
A week later I got a response saying it was rejected. I then investigate what went wrong and thru the feed validator I notice the mail address was missing into my podomatic account.
Now when I try to re-submitt and I get the duplication error.
What should I now do?
Is changing the name of my podcasts in podomatic going to help?

I did a change in the podcast title and also a change in the podcast description but the RSS feed is still the same ( http://djnicoboy.podomatic.com/rss2.xml ).
If I resubmit again Itune is going to recognize it as a duplicate?

  • 5002 Error when trying to submit my Podcast

Everytime I try and submit my podcasts feed url(http://feeds.feedburner.com/controller1gaming) and after I type in and try to log in with my login info right after it always gives me an error which reads:
"We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occured (5002).
There was an error in the iTunes store please try again later."
I have since installed iTunes on 2 of my other computers and got the same problem on all 3 computers, as well as on 3 different log in accounts (all registered to the same billing info).
I have no idea what to do to fix this, I searched and found that many people have had this same error however none of them related it to submitting a podcast, almost all of them dealt with downloading itunes music and getting this error (I never buy/download anything but podcasts on iTunes).
So if anyone has any idea how to fix this, or can please give me a link to where I would contact itunes about this, or better yet a telephone number to call in the US it would be grealty appreciated.

I tried something else just now, in an attempt to see if the problem was perhaps having something to do with me registering and burning my podcast on my computer using feed burner I had a friend make his own feedburner account, and burn my podcast feed from wordpress. He still got the error (and we are talking about someone else on the other side of the united states).
    So some new conclusions:
-I have tried using multiple feedburner accounts, one even not even registered by me myself, error occurs.
-I have tried using wordpress and blogger as two different sites to take the feed url from when burning to feedburner, still got error.
-I have used ourmedia as well as archive.org as my mp3 hosts and still got the error.
My conclusion? I seem to be running out of ideas really, the onlything I have not tried but would like to would be having someone register their own ourmedia account, upload my mp3, register their own wordpress blog and put my mp3 on there, and then burn that wordpress feed on feedburner and try submitting the feedburner link to itunes, that is really the only idea I have left (by doing that it basicaly voids out any interuption I might be causing on my home computers somewhere along the lines).
If someone where who is successfuly able to submit podcasts to itunes and wants to help me out in my idea vplease respond here with your email adress, (best option as I dont check my mail often) or if you use AIM my screen name is ReverieGamer.
I am truly beginning to believe that this is a problem with itunes now however I cannot be sure (I have even installed a slightly older version of itunes on my pc and tried and still a no go)

  • Can I have two podcast URL's? ie submit two podcast sites?

Hi, I have a podcast page on Podomatic.com and a page on Podbean.com, I want to submit both podcast URL's into itunes, can and how do I do this?
    Thank you. Mark.
    [email protected]

Just submit each one in the usual way as a separate podcast. You will need to be logged in to the iTunes Store. Enter this URL in your browser:https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast. (There have been cases of people getting error messages doing this: if so, try https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast.)This will open iTunes to a pane where you can submit the podcast: enter the feed URL, not the URL of the media file or the web page. iTunes does not store your media, it just uses the contents of the feed file to provide the details and access on the iTunes Store. (None of this will cost you anything). Then repeat with the other podcast.

  • Can Not Find "Submit a Podcast" link

I have a podcast which is available through iTunes but it not listed in the iTunes store. I have reviewed the instructions on how to this but can not find the "submit a podcast" link which is supposed to be on the "podcasts" page of the iTunes store.
Can someone help me please. Thanks!

You will need to be logged in to the iTunes Store. Enter this URL in your browser: https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast.
This will open iTunes to a pane where you can submit the podcast: again, enter the feed URL, not the URL of the media file. iTunes does not store your media, it just uses the contents of the feed file to provide the details and access on the iTunes Store. (None of this will cost you anything).
It may take some days before the podcast is accepted, since each new podcast has to be checked. You may be rejected for unauthorized use of copyright material, bad language and sexual content, libel, or racist comments - but of course you would never do any of those things, so you should be OK.
When your podcast is accepted, iTunes will give you a URL which will open iTunes to your podcast. You will also eventually be able to search on its title, though this can take some time to become available. However searching just on the category in the iTunes Store is most unlikely to throw up your podcast. There are thousands of podcasts out there, and it would be quite impossible to display on one page the entire list for any category. What you see are 'featured' podcasts, chosen by Apple as being special; please see this Tech Note: note that there is no way you can influence the selection other than making your podcast really special (bribery won't work).
When you want to add an episode, upload it and amend and reupload the feed file as described above (new episodes above the old ones). It usually takes at least 48 hours for the new episode to appear, though subscribers see the changes immediately (since they are accessing the feed directly, not through the Store). Regrettably the iTunes Store provides no way of monitoring the number of people who visit your podcast.

  • Technical Issues Message When Trying To Submit My Podcast Feed

I have been trying to submit my podcast feed to the itunes store since monday and every time I get a message saying there is a technical issue and please try again later.
I sent an email off to apple to find out about this and options offered in the reply haven't worked either! I have had the podcast on itunes before but the site I was hosting it at back in the day (Mevio) decided to remove everything on its site, hence my original feed sat doing nothing and was then removed from the iTunes store, I have recently found a site that offered everything I was looking for (Podcasts.com) and signed up.
I posted my first show on Monday but now I have the issue of iTunes constantly telling me there is a Technical Issue and to try again later which I have repeatedly.
I even tried running my feed through feedburner and still nothing, I have changed the title of both the podcast and the show name like was suggested in the email from apple and still it wouldn't take. Its starting to get on my nerves now since I want to get my podcast back on iTunes.
Can anyone offer up any advice or suggestions on how I can sort this out!?

The feed can be successfully subscribed to manually in iTunes. There are a few minor issues with the feed which I wouldn't have expected to cause a problem, but the Store can be more touchy than the application.
You should have this as the first line in your feed:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
You have far too many words in the 'keywords' tag in your episode - the maximum is twelve.
    Your 'itunes:duration' tag reads
    <itunes:duration>81</itunes:duration>
which is meaningless, though the Store might read it as 81 seconds and play only that amount of your episode. It should have the duration in the format hh:mm:ss, e.g. 0:26:42
I wouldn't have expected any of these to be fatal, though you should address them. It may be that you've hit a glitch in the Store - it's been known - so when you've corrected the errors try again.

  • Do you have to have a .mac account to submit a podcast from iweb?

Is this true, do I have to have a .mac site in order to submit my podcast to itunes? If that is the case is there another way to get my podcast submitted to itunes and leave my iweb site as is without having to make any changes other than putting the itunes URL on the link section?
I still want the podcast to play from my site as it does now, but I also want it to be listed on itunes ... I am desperate for a solution!!
    Thank you
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)

No, a .Mac membership is not required to submit a podcast to the iTunes Music Store.
In iWeb, when you do a "Publish to Folder" there is a URL field where you need to enter your domain name. iWeb will use this domain name to generate your podcast and RSS feed URLs. Once you publish your site, you will be able to see what your podcast or RSS feed URL is and confirm that it works. Then just submit this for inclusion to the ITMS.

  • Creating an itunes account without a credit card to submit a podcast

Maybe this is plain dumb, but...
I'd like to submit a podcast that we're begining to produce. So, I have to create an iTunes account to do so, and it asks for credit card informations. I'm submitting this podcast on behalf of the compnay I work for, and I don't have a credit card, and, anyway, I wouldn't want to create a full account.
The question is, how can I submit a podcast if I don't have a credit card? Is that possible? How?

  • I don't want to listen to EVERY podcast in my library

It seems that to download new podcast episodes. I have to listen to the oldest one on my computer/ipod so it can download the latest episode. Sometimes I go weeks without listening to podcasts on my itunes or ipod because I listen to them straight from their website. So when I do want to listen to a podcast on my ipod, its from a month ago. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem? A really difficult way to solve it that i found was play every podcast that i haven't listened to and move the timer to the right so that i can get the newest episode.
    Thank You,
    Will

  • Second try at getting info on how to submit a podcast feed. Please?

Can anybody point me to a page besides the outdated one here on Apple's page PODCASTING AND ITUNES: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION ? Where it says under TESTING YOUR FEED to select "Subscribe to Podcast" in the Advanced menu. There is no option in the new 7.0 iTunes matching this. Later, under SUBMITTING YOUR PODCAST TO ITUNES it says under the "Music Store" category to click on podcasts, but once again there is no option for podcasts there. If somebody can explain how to submit a podcast to iTunes, it would be so much appreciated. Our podcast is new, but our radio show has been around for a long time. The link to our rss feed has been tested and it works. It is and http://www.rnnradio.com/rss2.aspx
All I need is somebody to explain how this is done! Please help!

The feed looks fine and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes (from the 'Advanced' menu).
Just to check that you are logged into the iTunes Store and are submitting this at
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast
If that's the case, you may have hit a server glitch: I should leave it for a few hours and try again.

  • How to submit a podcast with an RSS feed to iTunes

According to this page -- http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#submitting -- "In the left column of the Podcasts page, in the Learn More box at the bottom, click on the Submit a Podcast link." I'm not able to find the Learn More box. How do I submit a podcast to iTunes?

You have to create one with a hosting provider, or create one yourself: see this apple article: http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html#_Toc526931673
You can also use an app like Feeder (http:/reinventedsoftware.com/feeder/) for Mac.

  • Can't submit feedburner podcast to itunes

    Hello,
I have created a feedburner podcast to submit to Apple.
The podcast can be subscribed and downloaded manually in iTunes. However, there is a time out issue when trying to submit the podcast to iTunes. I have trie to submit this podcast to Apple from mid December 2013 with no success.
    The podcast URL is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/MHPN
Our developer claims there is no issue with the server and all functions normally when accessing the podcast in a browser.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?
Attached is a screen grab of the error message in iTunes.
    Thanks

Some of your URLs - for example for 2 October - have spaces in them:
    <enclosure url="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/MHPN/~5/kiQgeVJzvZ0/MHPN_2_OCT_1800 - audio.mp3" length="86234627" type="application/octet-stream" />
Spaces are not allowed in the URL and iTunes cannot see any files which have them in the URL. You top episode is OK, but that episode and any others with spaces won't download.
The feed itself is OK (though a bit of a mess) and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes. I don't know whether it's the spaces which are causing the problem - there isn't usually any difficulty with Feedburner feeds themselves - but it's your first thing to fix. Once fixed, post here if you still have any problems.

  • How do you submit a podcast to iTunes? The instruction page is outdated

I spent 8 hours today trying to figure out how to submit my podcast to iTunes. The PODCASTING AND ITUNES: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION page has outdated information. For instance where it says under TESTING YOUR FEED to select "Subscribe to Podcast" in the Advanced menu. There is no option in the new 7.0 iTunes matching this. Later, under SUBMITTING YOUR PODCAST TO ITUNES it says under the "Music Store" category to click on podcasts, but once again there is no option for podcasts there. The link to our rss feed has been tested and it works. It is and http://www.rnnradio.com/rss2.aspx
    Please help!

The following short cuts shoul help you make iTunes more like it used to.
ALT shows the menu bar temporarily
    CTRL+B show/hide menu bar
    CTRL+S show/hide side bar
    CTRL+/ show/hide status bar
To make search more like it was, click on magnifying glass in search bar and uncheck "search entire library"

  • Why is there no podcast playlist option? I want to control the order podcasts are played.

Yes, you can go over to the Music Playlist and add podcast to it, but the Music Playlist features are not best suited for podcasts. I want to list to news podcasts in date time sequence. Typically, I only want to listen to them once. I'm trying to use the Music Smart Playlists, but they don't work well. For example, one of my playlists:
    New Audio Podcasts < 10m
    1. Plays is 0 and
    2. Kind contains audio and
    3. Time is less than 10:00 and
    4. Media Kind is Podcast
When I sync that playlist to my iPod, then listen to say half of the podcasts on the list, then re-sync my iPod: I would expect they play count to be incremented for podcast I listened to so that their play count would not be zero anymore and therefore removed from the playlist. Does not happen. However, if I listen to every podcast on every Smart Playlist, then their play count is increamented, and they will all be removed from the playlists. I find this behavior very annoying. I'm looking for a better solution to listen to podcasts.

Look, many of us long time users of Firefox ''(12 years for me)'' feel pretty much the same as you do about Australis on the Desktop. I have tested and used the Australis UX Nightly builds from the days right after Firefox 4.0 was released; so Firefox 29 holds no surprises for me.
The best that anyone here in the Firefox Support forum can do is to offer advice on how to modify Firefox 29 or to mention which extensions you can install to to fix what you don't like about the changes. Beyond that, I suggest that you use the Feedback page to let Mozilla know how you feel. <br />https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback
"Bad design" ''(in your opinion)'' or not - use it as is, fix what you don't like, or switch to a different browser. Mozilla isn't going to dump Australis over user complaints, even if it would drag Firefox to its' grave.

  • Can't submit my podcast

I've tried several times and read through tons of itunes help files and still I can't submit my podcast: http://www.brendawamsley.net/index.php?option=com_podcast&view=feed&format=raw
Every time I get a Error parsing feed: Invalid XML. Now I've done the step where I can go to advance and subscribe to podcast and using the same link can get the files just fine. What am I doing wrong! I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

I just waited for a couple of weeks and everything seemed to work out... Patience is a virtue.
