Want to record from LP turntable to my laptop PC

I have a HP g50126NR Notebook PC and want to copy my old LP's. My turntable plugs into an amplifier currently. I also have a Conexant high definition smart audio 221 as an audio card.  I'm a real newbie at this and want to know if I plug my RCA cables from the amplifer from the tape record (line out) to the notebook what would I use as a "line in"?
Do I need to buy something else?

Hi,
Based on its specs, you can use microphone-in but the quality is NOT good because I believe the  microphone-in is only 1 channel and few other technical barriers. To get better sound, you need something like this. Please read more info from the following links.

I dont believe you can do that directly. You would need to record the audio separately and then import

  • A.A. 3.0./ Want to Record from Soundcard1 and listen from another Soundcard

    Hiho,
I Got 2 Soundcards which are installed. a Terratec Phase 22 Recording Soundcard (1) and a Creative Soundblaster Xtreme Music (2).
It would be nice if Adobe Audition 3.0 would give me the Sound of the Creative Soundcard but Record from the Terratec Soundcard. The problem is that if i choose the Terratec ASIO driver Adobe takes away any option to use the Creative Soundcard. If i use the Creative driver, the Terratec Soundcard isnt displayed anymore.

help would be great. please excuse my bad english, like you see at the Screenshots im from Germany.

ASIO can only use one sound device - that's an ASIO system limitation, not an Adobe one. The only way around this is to use an ASIO to WDM converter, and the only one that's usable in this context is ASIO4ALL, which fortunately for you, is free. At least this way, you will see both cards as being available, but there is a limitation in that you will only get whatever inputs and outputs are available via WDM, and this is often limited to a stereo pair per device.

  • Delete record from the form and from the database

    hi,
i want delete record from the form and the database ,but the record is only delete from the from !!!
    this is my code :
    if //condition then
    delete_record;
    commit;
    end if ;
    Any solutions ??
    thnx

You have unique key field(s) on the table you are trying to insert which actually restricts you from inserting the same value again.
When you are deleting the record and issue commit there is a record to be inserted in the table which is a duplicate that's why you are getting this unique error.
As oracle is not able to insert your commit fails and stops your deletion of record from table

  • Recording from a turnta

I would like to record from a turntable. What hardware and software do I need?

I record from tape and turntable regularily but have not used the input of my SoundBlaster since I got my JB and then replaced it with JB3. Using the JB3 is simple and very convenient! with options to record to mp3 at various CBR bit rates or to wav at various sampling frequencies. I choose 44.kHz wav and usually add +dB of gain in the JB3. Once the wavs are completed, I move them to my PC which is fast via firewire, then use Audacity http://audacity.soungforge.net to split up the individual tracks. I name each Artist - Album - # - track, 2, 3 etc encode to mp3, and then use the SuperTagging feature of Music Match Juke Box to fill in the tags, providing track titles, year of release and the cddb genre, which I edit later.
I am one of the lucky ones with most of my LP's still in pristine condition so do not worry too much about pops and ticks (from that pizza in 973) etc.

  • Recording from mic

how do i record from a microphone.
I want to record from a microphone and play it later how do I go about it

    windroid wrote:
Seems to work so I'm happy. Maybe its specific to my recording setup?Ummmm, the "one second" is probably specific to your recording setup... but I would imagine there is a delta_t associated with starting a recording and the recording starting.
I'd imagine the TDL drain should handle that, but if there's like a hardware buffer on the soundcard that Java just doesn't have permission to flush... then you'd have to handle that yourself as you have. If the soundcare or the OS is doing some real-time transcoding to give JavaSound data in the format it wants, for instance, there could be a hidden unflushable buffer...

  • Recording from outside source

Tring to record from my line in off of a dvd player, can here the music coming through, but when I goto record it and play it back I get no sound. I've tried musicmatch and Neromix, both set up to record from line in. Any ideas? Thanks

    Hi,
Did you set the input "V" to the line you want to record from?
As you need to select the source for recording....
To get there, click the little-speaker-right-below 2 times, then you get the mixer.....
Now goto options->properties, select the recording and press ok (make sure you have selected all the lines you need to see in the mixer)
Then you have the recording mixer, now select the input you want to use....
I hope this works for you....

  • Recording from a video to DVD on my Qosmio

I have a qosmio G10. does anyone know how you can transfer your old videos onto dvd. i am confused about how to connect the video player to the notebook and which programme i should attempt to record in. thanks!

Extremely easy. INstall "WinDVD Creator 2 Platinum for Toshiba" that is on the "Additional Tools & Program" CDs that was provided with your Qosmio.
After installation, reboot. Once you take control again, apply this patch (double click the .ref files)
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/updates/windvd-creator-reg/regpatch-xp-na.zip
Now open winDVD Creator 2 and from then on you will figure all out by yourself. (you can select if you want to record from tv, composite or svhs). It will record in .mpg (MPEG2) format, ready to burn on DVD.
    Later,

  • Can't record from Line-In because the signal is too strong

This is happening with a just bought h9-1150 desktop system.
    Intel Core i5-3550 CPU
    IDT High Def audio codec
    NVIDIA High Def Audio
I've been trying to record from a turntable into Line-In. No matter how low I set the recording levels, the signal is too hot, resulting in overdriven, distorted audio.
Doesn't seem to matter whether Beats is turned on or off.
    Any help would be appreciated.

You will need to attenuate the signal or you will damage the audio input of your motherboard. You can either find a circuit online to make a converter or buy one. Here is a web document with more information on the subject.
    Best regards,
    erico

  • Problem recording from external l

I'm new here, I have a SB Audigy 2ZS, and I want to record from external line to my PC.
I use a external mixer to connect cassette, mics, long plays to the PC, and I connect them to SB Audigy from "Input line". And I use the mixer to amplify the PC. When I want to record the "surround Mixer" software thas not permit select a simple record input, it mixer all lines (wave, CD, CD digital, input line).
That produce a terrible feedback. Are there some way to record only from input line, without switch line by line?
    Thanks
    Mduque

Just click on the speaker icon under the volume controls in the mixer. Having said that it is not really necessary as I am unable to detect any hum by leaving them open. I suspect you may need to reinstall the card.

  • Recording from muted Line-

    Hello,
I'm using Audigy 4. I want to record from Line-In [using eg. Sound Recorder]. I don't want to hear what's on Line-In and I mute it.
Is there any way to do it's When line-in is not muted it works when I record from Analog Mix. When it's muted it doesn't work.
    Thanks for help in advance,
    Michal

The "record without monitor" option was created for compatibility with TV-card recording, and it depends whether you want Line-In to come back on when you stop recording or that's not a problem for you. If you want to record Analog Mix with Line-In but effecti'vely have it muted for playback for the duration, there's a less direct way to do that with the EAX control panel:
. Launch the EAX control panel.
    2. Select an effect preset to base this on, perhaps "(No Effects)".
    3. Click on the "Source" tab.
    4. Select the "Analog Mix (Line/CD/Aux/TAD/PC)" source.
    5. Select each effect in turn, and lower the amount to 0 (<i>including</i> "Original Sound" ).
    6. If desired, type a new name for this setting in the box at the top, like "Mute Analog In". Use the button with the floppy disk icon to save this preset for future use.

  • Can i select Records from two tables into an itab.

    Hi,
Suppose that i have two tables spfli and sflight.
Now i want the records from both the tables into a single internal table.
If so please let me know how this can be done.
itab should consist of all the columns in sflight and spfli.
    Regards,
    Sai

    Sai,
Yes u can do it using JOINs.
    Use this link for ref
    http://www.sap-img.com/abap/inner-joins.htm
INNER JOIN results are an intersection of the tables being joined where in only if both the tables havethe data the result is pused onto the result set.
WHERE as in LEFT OUTR JOIN you can push the data of the LEF T table on the resultset even when the join condition is not met.
The use is that you wantto have all the data that is there in left table and also the right table if the join condition is a success then right table fileds will have data else they are initial.
OUTJOIN's are used in MAINTENANNCE VIEWS, HELP VIEWS .
INNER JOINS are used DATABSE VIEWS.
    Inner Join:-
    SELECT pcarrid pconnid ffldate bbookid
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE itab
    FROM ( ( spfli AS p
INNER JOIN sflight AS f ON pcarrid = fcarrid AND
    pconnid = fconnid )
INNER JOIN sbook AS b ON bcarrid = fcarrid AND
    bconnid = fconnid AND
    bfldate = ffldate )
    WHERE p~cityfrom = 'FRANKFURT' AND
    p~cityto = 'NEW YORK' AND
    fseatsmax > fseatsocc.
    Left Outer Join
    SELECT scarrid scarrname p~connid
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE itab
    FROM scarr AS s
LEFT OUTER JOIN spfli AS p ON scarrid = pcarrid AND
    p~cityfrom = 'FRANKFURT'.

  • Downloading Voice Recording from Samsung Stratosphere

Hello.  I have used the voice recorder app on my Stratosphere and want to download the recording from the phone to my laptop and play them via Windows Media Player.  Does anyone know how to make this possible?  How do I convert the .amr to a mp3 or wma?

I haven't done this myself, but I'm sure you can find a conversion program to use one the sound files are on your computer.

  • Is it possible to record from 2 different mics in adobe audition?

I have a blue snowball mic and a blue yeti mic and I want to record from both on the same computer (co-hosting a podcast). Is that possible in adobe audition without a mixer board?
    Thanks!

Whilst it's possible to record as many ordinary mics as you want at once in Audition using a sound device capable of supporting them, it's not possible to use more than one USB mic at a time very easily, if at all. And even if you could get something like ASIO4ALL to recognise both at once, you'd still need to have the OS resample them, because they wouldn't have synchronised clocks, and this will inevitably lead to loud clicks at inappropriate places. And in Windows at least, I don't think that's possible at all, and even if it was I'm not sure that it would have them on seperate channels. In short, I'm pretty sure that it won't work. People seem to have a lot of problems with just using a single USB mic, never mind two of them...
Apparently on a Mac it's easier to aggregate USB mics, but you'd still run into the problem of synchronising them, because each does its own digitising, with no external clock reference.
If you want to use two mics at once, then absolutely the best way to do this is to use either a sound device that supports two mics, and use ordinary mics with it, or get a small mixer with a USB output, and mix a pair of ordinary mics in that. If you want to keep the channels separate, then all you have to do is pan one mic to the left channel, and the other to the right - you can arrange a better mix during editing.

  • With imovie can I record from camcorder

In Quick time I can choose any mic I have hocked up to my computer. It will also allow me to to pick which camera I want to record from. I have a mic in my web cam, stand alone mic, my stereo as inputs and mic in my Sony camcorder. I can record from any one of these. Can I do this in imovie? If so How.

iMovie is a video editing app, not a recorder. first record your video however you want, then import it into iMovie.
