Want to remove some AutoComplete entries in Numbers

I have the latest version of Numbers running on Yosemite 10.10.2. I would like certain autocomplete entries to vanish. Other posts say that you have to fix the cell with the entry, but it seems that as soon as you exit the cell, it is retained forever.
Seems like there should be a way.

Menu > Numbers > Preferences > General > Editing:
Turn off 'Show suggestions when editing table cells'.
I find Autocomplete is annoying (and error-prone) when entering data. I would rather make my own data entries .

I want to remove a few photos from my iPad, but not from my Mac (from-to which I sync). Is this possible? I can get the "delete" button to show on the iPad, but it is not fully lit--i.e. pressing it does no good.

You can delete photos that you took on the pad, and photos that you imported from the camera connection kit right on the pad. That delete button will work on those.
Photos that you synced from the mac get deleted by resyncing. When you connect the pad, push the photos tab, uncheck sync all, and then select only the photos you want on the pad. The mac acts like the master storage unit, and all the photos will stay there (unless you delete them in i photo) and copies are placed onto the pad.
Photos you take on the pad, by the way, dont get moved to the mac during a sync, you need to import them to iphoto. While the pad is connected, open up i photo, and the pad will show up as a device on the left side. You can select which pad photos you want to import. Those photos are now part of the master copy on the mac, and can be synced back to the pad, or not, as you decide.

Remove old autocomplete entries in Messages (iOS 6)

I have a friend who changed her phone number recently. When I start to send her a text/iMessage, her old number still shows up in the autocomplete list when I start typing her name, even though I've removed it from her contact in the Contacts app. How can I get rid of the old entry?
Note this is in the iPhone messages app (the behavior does not duplicate on the iPad messages app, nor in Mail...just in Messages on the iPhone).
My iPhone is a 4S running iOS 6.0.2.

Only those messages are not being displayed which you ONLY received. That means any concerstaion between you & your friends are readable after upgrading to iOS 6. But if you just received any message & did not reply , those messages you are not able to view after upgrading to iOS 6.

Editing autocomplete entries in Numbers '09

Numbers autocompletes cells' text when I start typing in them. . . which is great, but I have a few misspellings in the list of autocomplete fields it brings up. . . most of which, of course, are at the top of my selections popup for that cell. What I'd like like to do is find the word list Numbers is using and edit it. I can't find such an option in Numbers itself, and I can't find it in Numbers help.
Ideas? TIA.

The autocompletion list is built from the other cells in your table. The list will be different in different tables and in different columns of the same table. The order the entries appear in the list is the order they appear in your table and it is dynamic. For instance, if I type Bag in B2 and Bad in B3, the autocompletion list will start with Bag. If I change B2 to Ball, Ball is now the top of the list (and Bag is no longer on the list).
So, to correct/eliminate the misspellings, you have to correct the misspelled entries in your table. To change the order, you have to change the order in which they appear in your table.

When you have your iPhone connected to iTunes you can click on the iPhone in the source window at the left of the screen. In the main part of your iTunes screen you will see a set of tabs for configuring the various elements: Email, Contacts, Photos, Music, Video, Applications, etc. Click on the Music tab. Then click the box to only sync selected songs and playlists. Uncheck the songs/playlists that you wish to delete -only items will a check will remain on your phone. Hit the Apply button. You can use this system to control everything on your iPhone. Unchecking an item removes it from your phone, but it does not delete it from iTunes or from your computer.

Is there any way I can find out if the image is linked to an any InDesign file? I have a thousand .indd files on my hard drive, if I open one by one and see the links panel it would take me ages...

Maybe I misunderstand the post, or I've missed something along the way, but I've been using InDesign since it was introduced, and I've never heard this before. I output packages using pre-CC versions all the time, and I've never experienced any link or editability breakage with .ai files, or any others for that matter. Can you clarify Willi? Cannot remove autocomplete entry from address bar; have already cleared history, and entry is not in the drop-down menu of the address bar either.

I am having problems removing an autocomplete entry from my address bar; I have tried clearing my history, so it's no longer in that, and I do not have it bookmarked either, so it's not getting the URL from that location either. The autocomplete entry isn't even showing up in the drop down menu, so I can't even scroll through that to delete it.
Basically, I want to be able to type "st" and go to "store.steampowered.com"; however, despite numerous times of typing in "st" and then going down into the drop-down menu to choose "store.steampowered.com", the bar continues to autocomplete "steamtrades.com", which is exceptionally annoying because I do not have that website bookmarked, or in my history, yet it continues to autocomplete to that address, which I do not want it to autocomplete to, and cannot figure out how to remove because I've already cleared my history multiple times, do not have it bookmarked, and it is not showing up in the drop down of the address bar for me to go down and force delete it.

Did you try to remove some letters from steamtrades.com to see if that bring this entry up in the drop-down list?
If it is not in the history then it might be present with a typed=1 flag indicating that you have typed or pasted it in the location bar.
You can use the SQLite Manager extension in Firefox to inspect the places.sqlite file to see if this entry comes up in the moz_places table.

Can you remove some of the Default applications

I want to give an iPod Touch to my mother who is technically challenged and doesn't have WiFi.
I only want the iPod functionality, not the browsers, email, maps, or any other feature.
Is there a way to disable or remove default apps that you don't want?
ps: I do not want an iPod classic., it''s interface is harder to learn than the touch.

I too would like to remove some of the default apps. Personally, I find the YouTube, Stocks, and Maps, useless to me and its just a waste of icon space. And whats with the "The touch may not be for you". Seriously, if someone wants a touch but doesn't want some of the default apps, that doesn't mean the touch is not for someone. I think it would be a smart move for Apple to revise the iPod (and iPhone, if people can't remove default apps on there) so that we may remove the default apps that we don't use. It makes absolutely no sense to just "move" the app to the back if we don't even use the app. That's like saying "you may not have any use for this app, but its here because we want to force you to keep the junk we give you". And it sounds a lot like a Microsoft move for the all the Windows operating systems they have released (up to Vista, so far) forcing Internet Explorer on all its users and not allowing us to remove it because it was integrated into the Operating System. Supposedly, Microsoft is growing up and letting the user to actually disable (maybe even remove) Internet Explorer in the upcoming Windows 7. What about Mac OS X, does it force Safari on its users, like its forcing some of these unnecessary apps onto the iPod Touch? I wouldn't don't know, I don't earn quite enough money to buy myself an iMac or MacBook (and I've even heard from several people that its more expensive to get a gaming Mac than a gaming PC with similar hardware configuration). Only Apple product I own so far is an iPod Touch.

The question was "Can you remove some of the default applications" and a response saying "What is your mother going to use it for? Maybe the Touch is not the right device for her." by "D'Fish'N'Seas" does not answer the question at all. The question has nothing to do with what the mother is going to use the iPod for, so don't post a response like that, its one of the reasons that causes short tempered people to flame other people.
Ok, so since Anna answered the question that Ron asked. I have a question related to this topic, and if Ron is still wanting to remove some default apps, I'm sure he would like an answer to the question too. So, here is my question: Has anyone developed an app that would allow us to remove the default apps, or a tool that will guide us in removing some default apps?
And preferably the app or tool be in the most legal possible way. Wouldn't want to ask for something that is illegal.

i want to remove some portion of the string like artist2, title2, 2 so my updated string should be like

its deleting whole data in a string, can any one please help me how to delete particular part of the string. Here artist and title are unique and no are reapeated.

Hey I had the same problem like you yesterday.
I tried using regEx with positiv lookahead but noticed that there was a problem when the String went over multiple lines. There is probably some solution to it that i havent found yet.
So what I did was get the Index of the first text I wanted deleted(in your case I guess "artist2"). Then got the Index of the end of the deletion point(In your case the "2"?) and then formed a new String with the substring from the orginal one and the indexes of the two deletion points.
Sounds kinda dirty but it did work out. Anyway I'll dig myself into regular expressions more today because if you get them to work, they're a charm :)

I was able to do that in IOS 5 but not in IOS 6.
I cannot find the EDIT button on the FAVORITE videos screen. I need that to delete the videos.

It used to work and I would see the thumbnails wiggle with an X on each,
which, when touched, would make that thumbnail disappear and the video
removed. I just can't make it work any more.
