Well, it should be obvious that you cannot remove apps from the App Store, so I'll assume that not what you actually mean. In addition you cannot remove apps or any iTunes purchased content from your AppleID. You can hide purchases, but that can only be done from iTunes on a computer.

Follow the instructions on the HT1918 page that you posted from. On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on your iPhone then you could try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.
If you aren't getting the 'none' option then see if anything on this thread helps :https://discussions.apple.com/message/19231438#19231438

If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

  • I want to download a free app. But iTunes wants my credit card information everytime and I get declined. Why and how do I fix it.

I want to download a free app. When I sign in then I have to sign in again to iTunes. Then it wants my credit card information as it always does. When I fill it out it says I'm decline and try a different card. Why it do that when the app is free. When first started iTunes I had no problem downloading apps. Why now since I used a card a few times does it ask me for my card information everytime now. Can't download any free apps without being declined.

    Hello Snoweagle57,
It sounds like you are trying to download a free app, and when prompted to enter a credit card it is declined. I would use this article to go into iTunes and change your payment method to None:
Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1918
If you are unable to select None, the following article may help you determine why:

  • Want to get a free app but keep getting this response ' we could not complete your itune store request an unknown error occured (-9808)'

Want to get a free app but keep getting this response ' we could not complete your itune store request an unknown error occured (-9808)'?

I've done a search on here and haven't found any solutions posted for it for windows computers. You could try posting in the iTunes For Windows forum and see if you get any suggestions in there (are you able to download other items from the store e.g. a free app ?) - I use a Mac, the only things that I could think of to suggest trying is see if you get the same error on a different iTunes library :
    creating and/or opening a different iTunes library : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589
or using a different user account on your computer in case it's a problem with that user account.
But you may want to try the iTunes For Windows forum first, apart from anything else you are likely to get better help for the above

Because you have not entered billing information and it is required to confirm you are in the country which you are attempting to acquire content from.

My itunes want let me download free apps its talking about my billing information why?

    Hello Deangelo,
Thank you for the question.  It sounds like you do not want to add a credit card to your Apple ID.
I suggest updating your billing information to "None" using the steps in the section titled "Change your payment information on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch" in the following article:
iTunes Store: Changing your payment information
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1918
If you are not seeing the "None" option when updating your billing information, I recommend the following article:

I want to install a free app but it is asking for credit card details.  I don't understand.  Can someone please help thanks

You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
    1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
    2. Go to App Store and select a free app
    3. Tap INSTALL APP
    4. Create New Apple ID
    5. Confirm Your Country
    6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
    7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
    8. Create and answer your secret question
    9. Select NONE for Payment Method
    10. Fill in Billing Address
    11. Submit application for new Apple ID
    12. Wait for verification email
    13. When email arrive, verify your account
    14. Start downloading your free apps

  • Completely disable or remove the Mac App Store

    Hello,
I have several Macintosh computers which are on an unmanaged network, however I need to control what applications are installed on these machines without having to dig through Parental Controls on each machine. My question is simple: *how do I go about disabling or removing the Mac App Store from these machines after updating to 10.6.6 properly ?* -- avoiding the update itself isn't a solution as all future updates are likely to have it bundled in as well.
Here's what I've tried so far:
    1. Restricting access to App Store.app via CHMOD in the Terminal - messy and would prefer not to have to go this route.
    2. Trashing App Store.app entirely - seems to reset the "App Store" link in the Apple menu back to "Mac OS X Downloads..." and does almost what I want except when opening unknown file types, the dialog asks you if you want to search the App Store at which point you hit the button and it does nothing. Seems a bit hacky/messy.
I was hoping there would be some sort of toggle for this via a PLIST or something of the sort instead of resorting to deleting system files etc.
    Cheers,
    John

If you have a computer lab or some similar environment where this app is inappropriate, just delete it. That's all you have to do. Yes, that means that the Search App Store button won't work when opening an unknown file type, but that's a minor issue that can be explained away easily by just telling people who encounter that issue that the App Store is disabled.
As to everyone else (not John S.A.) who does not have a good reason to disable it and has some kind of aesthetic or ethical gripe about it... quit the baby-whining! Geez, if you don't like it, you don't have to use it! Delete it or don't, but quit crying about it! You can still purchase and install applications the same way you did before the App Store. Apple is not forcing you to use it, they are not forcing you to enter any personal information.
I really don't get the whole "you get what the manufacturer wants you to have" nonsense. It is an option. Let's keep some perspective here, folks.
