Want to run both FF 3.6 and FF 4

I just installed FF 4 beta & found that it won't run most of my extensions. I absolutely must have these to do my work (esp. Web Developer Toolbar.)
The install also replaced my existing FF (3.6), so I don't have that available.
I would like to be able to run both 3x & 4, otherwise I have no choice but to uninstall. :(
Can anyone tell me how to do this?
I thought it would install as a second app rather than replacing, or better yet give me the option. Seems like this was the way it has been done before.

The 4.0 beta version should have installed in a separate program folder.<br />
You may have only lost the desktop shortcut.<br />
Make sure that you create a separate profile for each version to prevent the 4.0 version from corrupting 3.6 files that are updated to newer versions and are no longer compatible with Firefox 3.6.

It would depend on how old your IMac is, how mush memory you have, it it can be upgraded by OWC, etc. I have a 2006 Macbook Pro and would NOT put Mavericks on it or espeacially FCP 10.1.1 on it because the most memory it can have is 4 GB. You need at least 8 GB to work with Final Cut Pro 10.1.1. IMHO.
I would try to find a copy of Final Cut Express perhaps.

There shouldn't be any interaction between the two GPIB drivers. The NI interfaces will use NI-488.2, wil the Keithley interfaces will use their low-level device driver. Each driver will manage the their own hardware.
In LabVIEW, you will use the NI-488.2 Vis to communicate with the NI interface. The Keithley driver has to install their own driver interface VIs.
The only problem is you want to use VISA for both interfaces. I don't know if there is a Keithley implementation of VISA, but there can nly be one installed in the system. The NI_VISA driver will allow you to control the NI interface, but not the Keithley interface. You can still use the Keithley interface using the low-level driver.

way back when i built the window 7 editing rig i tried to get a quadro 4000 and a geforce 9800 GT (older version) to work together to get 4 displays going
but i had stability issues so i got another quadro and never had a problem
however, reading this recent thread

it sounds like users are able to mix quadro 4000 with geforce cards
using the geforce for the cuda processing and the quadro for the output
i still want to run 4 monitors (2 from the quadro 4000 and then 2 from the geforce card (open to suggestions here)
if i can mix cards now i'd like to get a geforce gpu to help out with 4k editing of a feature (probably red scarlet)
and use the quadro for 10bit output

no i am still sticking with cs6 for now
and i found where i had read the instructions before
(an answer to one of my own previously asked questions):
Install Quadro Driver full installation via Wizard.
Decompress Geforce Driver latest version but do not run Wizard install.
Manually update Geforce Card driver via Device manager by pointing to Nvidia/Geforce folder
Launch Nvidia Control Panel and set the GPU Acceleration to Geforce card only.

Hi, I'm about to upgrade my Powerbook to Tiger, but I have some applications that will only run properly under Jaguar - and so I wondered if it's possible to run both on the same system. (e.g. my old iMac was able to run both OS9 and 10)

Another solution is to format two partitions on your hard drive: one for Jaguar, the other for Tiger,
but yes,
make sure first about updated versions of your programs...
(My two-systems partitioned iMac works perfectly, but it is Panther-formatted/partitioned. I don't know about Jaguar.
Be careful also to choose same users longnames and shortnames (and passwords), so that you can freely share files and use the whole "twin-system" just as simply and straight as a "one-systemed" PowerBook.)

No, you only pay once, but both Macs must be running 10.6.8. Buy, download and install using the App Store on the first Mac.
On the second Mac, log into the App Store using the same AppleID, and go to the Purchased tab. You should see Lion. Download again and install from there.

Problems running both the *stock* 6600 and 7800GT card. Help needed!

I recently picked up a 6600 gfx card to use as a s-video output for a TV monitor or beamer. I have a 7800GT (ordered with the G5) previous to the 6600 installation i was able to send a DVI or VGA signal from the 7800's second output. Now this no longer works.
In my configuration I've hooked a projector (HP620) up using a DVI cable. Alternately a VGA cable. In both cases the HP620 shows up in the display prefs complete with the correctly set resolution but no signal appears on the projector. the mouse disappears off the screen *as if* the second screen is there. but that is all.
I would like to get these cards working together. does anyone know of any known problem with compatibity?
the only hookup that works is an s-video output via adapter cable from the 6600 to a TV. but this is not without problems. it seems to crash one specific pgm i use to generate visuals that bases it's render engine on core image units.
i know both cards are Core Image compatible. what else could it be?

here's a status update: in a nutshell
benQ (siemens) MP620 projectors DO NOT work with G5 PCI Express desktops Macs.
if you've followed this thread i'm sorry for all the reading to get to this point. i just took beamer and G5 to the store i bought them at and we tested all connections. in the end we discovered the benQ MP 620 (sorry not "HP" - that was a typo in the first post) will not work with the current G5 desktop models.
i guess PCI express must have something to do with it. unfortunately i had to buy the darn projector to learn this. the company states (only after we called them up) they do not support the mac platform, and that it "may or may not work". if it works they can't explain why and vice versa... until now i never knew there was a difference! thought beamer is a beamer....
anyhow, for what its worth. maybe it'll help someone. i spent several hours tracing this to find the answer....
and it appears the issue of incompatibility between the two cards is a misnomer.

Hello, I need to run bookkeepting/ bill writing/ store management software on my imac and would like to use Lexware's German product (equivalent of Quickbooks), which can directly link to the German tax autorities. I was told I can do this from my imac via Bootcamp (they dont do a mac version).
Is this advisable and are there any downsides? Is it simple enough? Do I need to be online to use the Lexware software (I live in the deepest countryside with a wobbly connection!).

There shouldn't be any issues as Boot Camp allows installation of Windows which runs natively just as if you were on a PC. The only downside is that you have to buy a Windows full install disk. Be sure it is the right version for your software.

Yes. I have done something similar, except I kept a small partition to boot Leopard instead of Snow Leopard, for best compatibility with old software. In fact, I have had that small Leopard partition for a while now since I have a few old titles that will not run in Snow Leopard but run fine in Leopard.
If you already have a second partition, and it's large enough to accept a clone of your current Snow Leopard boot partition, then just clone it over.
If you already have a second partition but it's a little on the small side, install Snow Leopard onto it fresh. You don't have to move any of your personal media and data to the smaller partition. You don't even have to move the old PPC-only applications - they can continue to reside on your main/large partition that you'll be upgrading to Lion.
If you don't have a second partition, be sure to perform a full backup to an external device before repartitioning. If all goes well nothing will happen to the data on your drive, but you shouldn't take any chances when rewriting volume allocations. If it were me, I'd do a full bootable backup to an external drive, then wipe and repartition the drive, and finally restore back to the first/larger partition just created.

Make sure that you dont have same port numbers on both servers.
If it then try to avoid them.
Secondly also check nodemanager log server log to verify why it went to shutdown mode.

No. Bootcamp, as you've described, requires rebooting into your chosen operating system. If you want to run both OS X and Windows at the same time from your hardware, look at virtualization tools like Parrallels or VMWare.

It would harm the PC industry because you wouldn't have to buy one since the Mac can do both. But with only a 128 GB SSD in your rMBP, you may have trouble fitting both on it.

Running both ARM core and Microblaze Together

I want to use both arm core processor_0 and a Microblaze core.. At the moment I am running a timer interrupt on Zqnc arm and Microblaze is printing somthing using JTAG UART.
When i first run the Mircoblaze first and then ZYNQ arm core, everything works fine.
But when i run ARM core first and then Microclaze, then the ARM interupts stop. It seems like ARM core get stuck.
Can anyone help me with this?

Hello,
You have a few options with regards to passing arguments between VIs running on your host and Luminary Micro board. You would be able to use serial communication or ethernet to transfer data between your board and your PC. You could alternatively use digital pins themselves, but this is more intensive as a custom protocol would have to be written.
As for getting the VIs to start at the same time, here are some options that you can look at ( you are not limited to these):
- get your ARM target to wait for a tcp packet from the host machine before it starts executing its main code. That way manually starting your host VI will activate the ARM code
- Try using VI Server functions on the ARM target while you are developing your code, perhaps it will send the necessary commands to the host PC to open a particular VI (it doesn't stop you from placing this function to your target)
