I want to see dates below the photos when I'm looking at them in the browser in grid layout.
Is this possible?

You need to enable Metadata Overlays for the Browser View (in 3.3.2 Grid View) and add the Date to the View. You can do that from the "Edit" option, when clicking the little badge icon. Depending on your choice of "Expanded View" or "Basic View" for the selected overlay add the date tag to either of these views.

Well, the obvious advice is to restore your mac's backup to the new drive - I assume you've been using Time Machine.
If you haven't been backing up the mac, then ...
For photos, sync the iphone to the mac vis iTunes/USB and get the photos back into iPhone on the mac. Getting back the itunes is another problem. You can look for mac apps that read an iOS device and copy songs to the mac. But that won't get back all the other information that iTunes used to have. Again, only a backup would restore all that data. As for purchased items from the iTunes store, use the mac and connect to the store via itunes and check the purchased tab or link. There you can redownload all purchased music and other items.

I haven't gone to the Dry Creek site to view their wire frame gamuts in quite a while, but when I did a month or so ago, I couldn't view them because my old Cortona viewer wasn't compatible with Mac anymore, so I did a search and found several Mac 3D viewers. OpenVRML is a tar, which would expand but never showed up on the desktop to install. I then installed InstantPlayer and went to the Dry Creek site, which still told me that VRML was not loaded, but I selected a wireframe of Pro Photo, aRGB, and sRGB anyway and clicked build model. A wrl file downloaded to my desktop, so I double clicked it and zut, alors, there was a beautiful wire frame. Apparently the Dry Creek site wants to see a browser plugin in order to see the wf directly, but the standalone InstantPlayer works well on the file. I am running OS 10.8.2. Caveat: After doing a screenshot of the wf twice because I used the Instant Player Nav to rotate it, InstantPlayer crashed and a crash report appeared. I used the Reopen button and it came back with its logo screen. I won't use it often enough to worry about, but it's in ver 2.2.0 so maybe they'll update soon. Made in Germany.

Assuming you have something newer than a 3G:
Many users have lost photos while preforming a restore from backup or upgrading the iOS. Recall, only photos in the camera roll are backed up to iCloud. There is a way to turn backups for camera roll on/off, perhaps these users had camera roll turned off.
See:
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage, tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
You can turn on Notes on the mac to get to notes, or use a browser an log into icloud.com and go to the notes page.
IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream. If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered. I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure".

i am unable to see data in R/3. i don't have authorization of RSA3,RSO2,RSA5,RSA6.In my case data is coming through R/3 in BW and there is some problem with data in R/3 so i want to see data in R/3 to findout the problem. I have name of the datasource '2LIS_02_SCL' so is there anyway by which i can see data in R/3.

If you dont have authorization for RSA3, then contact your administrator to get the authorizations or else if you have authorizations for either SE11 or SE16 then just check out the tables of that datasource and then you can find whether the data is available or not.

How to see data in hierarchy

I was searching on the forums, but could not find an appropriate thread on this. I want to see data
1. In PSA tables or equivalent for the hierachy data after succesful infopackage load. I can see the number of records in the monitor for infopack, but how to see the actual data for that run some where like 'ALE Inbox'.
2. When I click on 'display' of the hierarchy, I can see the infoobjects under the hierarchy, but how to see the actual data inside those infoobjects?
Please list the tcodes if possible.

Whenever you create a hierarchy and activate it, an internal ID called Hierarchy ID will be generated and this information is stored in the table RSHIEDIR. In SE12 go to this table and in place of HIENM give the name of your Hierarchy and IOBJNM as the name of the infoobject for which you created this hierarchy(0costelmnt in this case). With this you will get a HIEID.
Pass this HIEID to the Hierarchy (H) table of the costelement infoobject(/BI0/HCOSTELMNT) and here you will find all the 9 records that you loaded for your hierarchy. Hope this helps solve your issue.

Before I buy, will I see the date on photos in sorter?

I'm looking for the right App to make movie / video files from a photoshow. I'm interested in iMovie but am concerned that I won't see the date stamp on my photo files like in the iPad photo albums. I find this very annoying in the Photo app. You can't sort or anything. Will I see the date stamp of when the photo was taken if I download a photo to my iPad? So I can sequence my pictures for a video?
When I say date stamp, I don't mean a the date and time right on the photo. I just want to know when the photo was taken and be able to sort a group of photos based on date taken.

Photos are sorted by date and time, but the date and time is not shown in the app.

We just updated to a new mac from a 7 year old Mac because the logic board died. =The Apple reseller did a data transfer and now we cannot see full size photos on our new screen. We see the thumb nails but when we try to open a photo in the photo section of the library we get a black screen with an exclaimation mark. How do we fix this?

When you first boot your new Mac, it will boot into Setup Assistant. It will walk you through registration and then ask you if you want to migrate. Choose the disk you want to migrate from and choose all settings. No newer apps will be overwritten with older ones. No third party software will be lost. Although you should check compatiblity of apps with ML.

No, the camera connection kit only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, it doesn't support copying content off the iPad. For your second camera instead of the SD reader part of the kit, does the iPad to camera cable not work with it for direct transfer to the iPad ?
For Lightroom and Nikon software again no - you can only install apps that are available in the iTunes app store on your computer and the App Store app on the iPad, 'normal' PC and Mac (OS X) software are not compatible with the iPad (iOS). There are some apps that perform fairly basic editing functions that are available in the store, but nothing as sophisticated as, for example, Lightroom.

i Have signed up for 1 month 50M EE data plan but I want to see the other options. iPad just says I already have a plan and won't show other options. The EE site is no help either

I Am from the U.S. I just tried a search for EE data plans and was able to see their web site that had information on all of their plans. If you can't find what you need there, then you may need to go to their office / store and talk with someone directly. There isn't much we can do for you here. This is a user to user forum.

Hello!!!I need to read some data from the serial port and processing these, at the same time I want to see the process that I am doing.

I read the data without problems, and I see them using Waveform graph, the problem is that I want to see the real time stamps, but in the graph appears 2:00:00,000 and 01/01/04, so the date and the time is wrong !!
Can I change this?
I am thinking that the problem is that I have to adquire the data and the time stamps ( using Get date/time) and after, I have to represent both!!!

As you probably know a waveform is made of a beginning time (t0), a time difference between each value (dt) and an array of values (Y). Your problem is probably that you don't initialize t0. Use the Vi 'Waveform->Build a waveform' to initialize the time of the waveform.

There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export.
However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.
