Want to use camcorder not built-in

Anyone know how to view on my computer screen what my Aiptek camcorder "sees" (it's LCD screen won't work) or get my mackbook to use it for capture instead of the built-in? When I hook it up through the USB the computer can pull files off it, but seems to see it just as a storage drive.

It seems like some of the features that I want to use are not available in MUSE like in browser editing?

I decide to use Business Catalyst for hosting because it came with my CC membership, However it seems that some of the main things I wanted to do might not be available or can only be used for additional membership fees. I wish that this was more clear beforehand! I am happy with the built in things but I am a little disappointed in finding out some of the features that I wanted to use, such as in browser editing might not even be available at all as long as I use MUSE. Managing customers using secure zones, and some other page level sign in forms seem to be not available also

People do fumble their way through going into the BC developer code editor online to do layouts etc and then to Muse and back but Muse only covers basic modules and templates. Not all the tag's, layouts, tag features and the guts of what being a web developer/designer is.
So you can go so far, but then you will hit a wall like everyone does with Muse.
Muse is not designed to do everything out there to make a site, it Cant, those sorts of tools from frontpage to Muse can only take you so far.
I can not just go build a house with the tools from the big depot. They may all do the job, but I do not have the knowledge or the plans to do so.

I tried to join ALECKS. I received a Java warning that Google has not fixed a problem that makes Firefox running on Windows unstable when using a Java version = or > 7.0. I don't want to follow the Alex recommendation to use Chrome or Explorer; using the ALECKS path to install a 6.x version of Java didn't work for me. I want to use Firefox as my only browser. If that is not possible re: ALECKS, I will use the Khan Academy in lieu of ALECKS.

SQ00: Variant-change permission missing,but user wants to use and not to ch

i've created a InfoSet and a Query and my users want to use the Query. The Query has a default Variant and the Default-Variant also has a Default Layout. When the user wants to run my query, he gets an error:

Sie möchen eine Variante bearbeiten oder löschen. Es fehlt ihnen die hierzu erforderliche berechtigung. Es handelt sich um das Berechntigungsobjekt S_PROGRAM und das Feld P_ACTION = VARIANT. Der Inhalt dieses Feldes Berechtigungsgruppe in den Report-Attributen wird gegen die Werte in Ihrem Benutzerstammstatz im Feld P_GROUP geprüft."
Short Version in English:
There is a permission for a Variant-change necessary ....
I do not know why he gets this message, because he does not want to change the Variant, he only wants to use the Variant. Or should i give him the permission? But i don't that he is able to change the variant i've created...
Any ideas ?! Any help will be appreciated.

maybe you solved it inbetween. If not, you might entered something in the authorization-group of the the infoset:
Infoset --> GoTo --> Global Properties --> Authorization Group
If there is something entered the user get the DB626 message while chosing a variant in SQ01 (if he does not have authorization for S_PROGRAM / P_ACTION = VARIANT / P_GROUP --> Authorization Group)

Want to use Logitech, not iSight camera, but can't.

I want to make a simple video with my iMac, using a new Logitech USB camera, instead of the iSight camera inside of the monitor frame. The computer recognizes the Logitech camera just fine, and other applications (e.g. iChat) have no problem using the Logitech camera. I just can't figure out how to get the iMovie program to use it instead of the iSight camera. The Logitech camera also works perfectly with other Macs in the house. I can click the little "camcorder" icon in iMovie, and a window opens, showing the video feed from the iSight camera. There is a little drop-down box in that window that SHOULD allow me to choose another camera, but there is nothing but the iSight camera available for selection.
The Logitech camera is plugged directly into the back of the iMac, so there should be no power problems. Also, it is fully recognized in the "about this Mac menu, when I click 'USB').
I know that this is probably a stupid little thing, but I've tried and tried and can't figure out how to use the Logitech camera.

Want to use .mac NOT .me

Been researching and I see information about using .me instead of .mac for email. However I've used .mac for long time on both iPad and iPhone and want to keep using .mac. Since re-configuring my two iCloud accounts a week ago (I use a main iCloud for personal and family iCloud account for calendars etc) the outgoing mail ONLY uses the .me outgoing address. The iCloud accounts are showing .mac as account but the advanced tab shows .me and I don't see anyway to change the outgoing address name. My macbook still has .mac as outgoing. I went to icloud.com and made sure .mac was preferred.
So, is there a way to ONLY use .mac? Or is that dead due to the .mac changover to .me in June 2012?

where in my settings can i change this for Mail on my iPhone,iPad? i have the same issue as noted above. have .mac shown in mail sent from my imac as i have set it in system preferences. in the settings from my devices although i have it set as .mac it shows as .me being the sender. in the advanced section on my ipad, settings>icloud>account>advanced>mail i can see it is set as .me and am unable to edit it.

Built in ftp server, I want to use it, but do not think I can

I enabled the ftp server, I want to use it, I am not sure it is up to the task.
With it on, users can ftp in just fine, I set the ftp settings to log ftp users into their home directory. I plan on having 1000's of ftp users, and they do not all need to get home directories.
I created a sharing only account, and changed their home path to /Library/WebServer/Documents/them
I also changed their shell to /sbin/nologin
This did not work, they were not allowed to login, nothing at all in the logs either.
So I move to a standard user, and then they can login, as long as I do not change the shell they use. I do not want them to have ssh access.
I ended up just hand configuring the ftp server, which means I am not going to be able to use Server Admin, or it will mess up my settings. I really do not want to create system users for ftp accounts anyway. Ideally, I could create ftp users with TLS, but I do not see that as an option, and OS X does not seem to be simple to set up ssh chroot, so that is not an option either.
Suggestions on a shared hosting machine?

Apple's implementation of lukemftp isn't very robust for hosting needs. They have spent little effort on crafting the GUI to support multiple accounts (via WGM) pointing to the same domain space, or paths within a sandbox (say you want to craft a second account to point to a subdirectory of a site --not with Apple's exceptionally primitive GUI in this regard). Apple also hasn't spent any effort to update their website for OS components: http://www.apple.com/opensource/, so this isn't really on their radar. Many hosting companies have begged Apple to address these issues ... going back many years. The results of their attentiveness is the product you now have.
You should take a few minutes to post your wishes, and your disappointments, via the feedback tool within the Server Admin menu.
Then follow Alex's suggestion to consider pureftpd.

Your question(s) is/are a little hard to understand. So your husband has an iPod as well as a netbook and he wants to be able to sync iPod with this netbook is that correct? If so, he'll need to first download and install iTunes assuming the netbook is running some version of Windows such as 7, Vista, or XP.

As for importing or ripping music, he'll have to either use an external CD/DVD drive that is attached via USB or rip the songs to another PC you have with a built in CD/DVD drive. Once you have imported them to the other computer, you can transfer the songs to an external hard drive or to his iTunes library via Home Sharing.

I can not get Firefox to reset to normal size. I have tried everything including reinstalling it. Only some webpages like Facebook are large & it will not reset but in IE it is normal. Please help because I hate IE & really do not want to use it!

I have even zoomed out and the missing info still does not appear. But if I log into IE it is just fine and all the info is there and is useable. CTRL+0 (<--that is a zero) will reset your zoom level on affected pages. Firefox remembers the zoom level you last used on a page.

You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)
