Want to use dell printer on imac

I have an A920 all in one Dell printer which I love and now have switched to mac. I just bought a new imac and am trying to add the printer but Dell is not listed as a printer and of course their website only has drivers for windows. What can I do? I dont want to get a new printer and I am not comfortable enough yet to get the boot camp or other software to run windows to use it.

Very questionable, most of them only have drivers for Windows. I'd suggest looking at Printer and scanner software 10.6.x and see if your Dell is on the list. If yes then you're OK, if not time to replace it.

Not with Aperture. You have to use the new Photos for Mac, if you want to print a square book with Apple's Print services.
You could collect the images you want in the book in an album, export the albums a s a new Aperture library, open the album Photos, and create your book.
Or create a custom book in aperture, print the pages of the book to JPEG, import the jpegs to Photos and use them as full page photos to create a photo book in Photos.

Remove it from the Macbook first. BT devices may only be connected to one thing at a time.

Want to use shared printer - driver question

Unfortunately I don't have my Macbook Pro with me to try this. My wife is using it for her business trip.
But I would like to install a shared Windows printer on the MBP. Will Leopard ask me for a driver?? If so, which driver is it asking me about? The Windows Imf file? The mac driver for the printer?

You must use a printer driver for the Mac and a printer driver for the Windows machine. The driver must be for the printer that will be used. Printer sharing must be activated on the computer to which the printer is connected unless it is a network printer connected to a router.

Want to use Dell Laptop/Dock with iMac Display

Hello, i currently have a MBP and a Work Laptop (Dell with Dock) and i would like to change my MBP to a iMac but i would like to use the same display on the iMac for the laptop dock too.
Is this possible?
I have read a couple of posts and am i right in thinking that there is no way of doing this with the new iMacs or the very new iMacs getting released in Nov/Dec?
Do i need to buy a 2009/2010 iMac and if so, is this easy to hook up?

As far as I know, your computer is not going to run SimplePass -- it wants to run the HP Client Security Manager.
There are some prerequisites as listed on the System Requirements page. Amongst these: the File Sanitizer Software, both .NET framework 3.5 and 4.5, and others. It is likely that your system has all the necessary software, although you may not have installed the File Sanitizer yet. It is available from your computer's driver page.
If you do not yet have .NET Framework 4.5, you can download install .NET Framework 4.5.1: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1
It is of vital importance that you have all your Windows Updates in place. Make sure they are indeed complete. If you are one of the people in the world that do not believe in Windows Updates, turn them off later -- this is not the time.

You need to remove and banish that SimplePass software from the system.
Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features > find and remove the SimplePass software
Next:
Create a Restore Point Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR Create a restore point Win8
Close all your programs and Shut down the computer
Disconnect everything (little Unifier for the keyboard / external mouse can stay)
Perform the Hard Reset for your notebook
Boot the computer and log in
Reminder: Hard Reset is just a device Reset. The Hard Reset procedure does not wipe out your files nor does it destroy your Windows setup in any way. It just "clears the cobwebs". Depending on the cause of the problem, this kind of "reset" can fix a variety of computer glitches.

Hello Owais Farooq,
The Windows Fax and Scan allow faxing with a Fax modem card installed on your PC, it does not allow using a such with the HP Device.
The HP M1217 allow sending and recieving faxes from the computer through the HP Software , not through the operating system software.
Regardless, the M1217 is compatible with Windows Server 2003 or 2008, it is incompatible with Windows Server 2012, as well any digital fax capabilities as faxing from / to the computer are only supported on a client operating system, not on a server.
For a server only basic print and scan drivers are available as you may find in the user guide of the printer:

All templates are not created the same way. How one populates a template depends on the template document. Some are stored as PSD file some as a PNG file. So some are layer and other not. Image are added as layers using features like place, paste, duplicate layer from one document to an other. Image layers are re-sized using a layer transform and are often masked to the area being populated. Mask are also used to blend in images to create interesting composites.

As I have said before, AppleHFS.sys for one thing can interfere.
MacDrive or Paragon HFS help.

So yes if you can then use Paragon or something, though only one person has come here and really said they used Disk Utility. Not enough to endorse.
Windows 8 CP is what I use and it is more stable reliable etc etc than Windows 7 was on Mac Pro 1,1.

You can't write to it because it's formatted as NTFS which OS X will read but not write to. If you want to continue using the drive with both a PC and OS X you will need to download and install NTFS-3G so you can then write to it from your Mac. You can get NTFS-3G at:

If you want to use the drive exclusively with your Mac then move the data off it and reformat it in Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) as Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)

I need to print a project for one of my classes and I would like to print at home but we only have a dell printer for my mom's dell laptop and I want to find if the software is mac compatible so I dont have to pay money at school to print it. Simply check developer site, search for that specific printer, and see what they say about compatibility. If you use Lion, connecting printer normally goes to download center, download driver, and you are there.
