Want to use windows 7

i just bought HP Pavilion 14-V025TX...
can i use reformat my laptop using windows 7.
is there driver for w7 for this model?
tq

Hello @kaz_0105,
Welcome back to the HP support Forums.  So from what i am understanding you have a new HP Pavilion 14-V025TX. Now at the moment if you can let me know what Operating System it is currently running.
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Here is the thing.  You have a notebook that has a software licence for windows 8 or 8.1 I am assuming.
Now there is nothing saying you can not reformat your HD to install windows 7.  Where places you are going to run into issues by doing this is.
You may damage your recovery partition on the harddrive.  This would allow you to restore you system to factory out of the box condition as far as the Operating System goes.  That includes all your drivers and software.
With installing Windows 7 You may be on your own as far as drivers are concerned.
Here is a link for your notebooks support page.  See what you can find there.
Product Specifications.
Below is the link for the HP Pavilion 14-v025tx Notebook PC support.
HP Pavilion 14-v025tx Notebook PC support.
That being said however. When you do install windows 7 make sure it is a full licensed copy.  there may not be drivers available and this would cause some issues with support on the notebook.
Please check the links I have provided you and make sure you have access to the drivers and software you would need for this before doing a complete removal of the original equipment installation of Windows 8 or 8.1 that came with your notebook.
Thanks you and i hope this helps.
Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!
Also be sure to mark my post as “Accept as Solution" if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others who face the same challenge find the same solution.

  • Satellite A200-PSAE6E: I want to use Windows 7 - What drivers should I use?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200-PSAE6E, and now i want to use Windows 7.
Only i have a question if the drivers are supported, and which BIOS i need to use

    Hello
As Jeffrey said you should use the BIOS for Vista.
Vista is more similar to Windows 7 as XP so I think this would be the better choice.
First you can try to install the drivers for Vista. Maybe it works and all Vista drivers you can download on the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
If the drivers dont work you must search on external websites. Maybe there you can find another Vista driver or already a driver for Windows 7 but I believe these drivers are beta versions too.
I hope you will be successful and post your result. It could be interesting for other Toshiba users. :)

  • I want to use Windows on my Mac, but Boot Camp doesn't work (Mac OS X 10.7.3)

Everyone knows that w/ Boot Camp you can use Windows on Mac, but I can't.

    common issues:
downloading the drivers with Boot Camp Assistant
Not reading the guide from in Boot Camp Assistant
Wanting to use XP (not supported)
    Not enough disk space
Space is too fragmented - and people don't know or understand the error or how to even backup and then erase and restore (very basic part of prevention and use of computers).

There is another less expensive option:
Windows 7 System Builder $99 and full install is limited to one computer (can't be installed later if you get a new computer, but for what you save, so what, and Windows 7 SP2 or even whatever "8" is will be out by then (2013 time frame).
Amazon and Newegg are good places to find Home Premium, and unless using only in a VM and not native Boot Camp, get 64-bit version.
NO need for retail higher price that comes with 32 and 64-bit and ability to reinstall on new hardware some point.

I have two Macs and one windows but I left the disk along with the key code in Dubai. If I want to use windows 7 on bootcamp on my other mac, and do a migrate, will I have to use the key code at some point?
if do do I have to buy a new windows 7?

There is no system like Acronis for the Mac platform. You can try using the buiilt in Disk Utility to create an Image of the complete Mac drive but I have found that this does not work very well as on tryiing to restore it gives errors sometimes.
You can use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable Clone of your system partition. But that is only for the System partition and not the complete drive.
If you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac neither of those two programs will clone the Windows side.
Neither will Disk utility as Mac's can not create or write to a NTFS partition. So some other program is need for that.

  • New to Apple, questions about using Windows, and other things

    Hello all,
Today is my first day as an Apple owner. It's funny because I'm also a MCSE, MCSA, and MCP.
    I purchased a 24" iMac, 2.8GHz, 4GB RAM, and 1TB Hard Drive.
I want to use Windows on my Mac so that I don't have to keep switching over to my PC. My main reason for using Windows is so that I can continue to enjoy my PC Games... mostly racing and D&D games.
So my question is... how does Windows run on bootcamp? Can I still use all of my USB controllers (like my steering wheels, joysticks, etc?)
I really havent even turned on my iMac... been too amazed at just looking at it for the first day (and also rearranging my home office).
I really just want to know from those of you who have PCs AND Macs, if you still find yourself having to go back to your PC because of incompatibilities or performance issues on the iMac?

Using BootCamp, your Windows experience is no different than if running it on a similarly configured PC. If you went with a VM running under Mac OS X (like VMWare or Parallels), there are a number of differences. However, using BootCamp you have a Mac-branded PC.
I'd point out that people have been dual-booting operating systems in this fashion for decades. Windows has no obvious in-built support for doing so, but other operating systems (like Linux, FreeBSD, etc.) have always very clearly and explicitly supported dual-booting (on Macs and regular PCs) from the get go.

  • Single server solution for RDS / TS / RDP using Windows Server 2012 R2

Planning on setting up a small single server and  need this functionality:
    * 3 local users runnnig Windows 7 Home Premium needs to access files on the server
    * The same 3 users should also be able to connect from home (PC, Mac, iPhone) and run an application on the server. (Session-Based Remote Desktop).
We want to use Windows Server 2012, and found out that Essentials does not support RDP, so that leaves Foundation and Standard versions.
However, I also found out that in WS 2012 the RDP can not be on the same server as the Domain Controller, and we therefor needs to run 2 server instances on our hardware. I think this starts to look way to complicated for what we want to do, but found out
that WS 2012 R2 allows a single server to run RDP (See TechNet article 2833839).
So we will go for Windows Server 2012 R2, either Foundation or Standard to set up our RDP.
So now the question: Will that solution work with our local machines running Windows 7 Home Premium, as they cannot connect to a domain? Can we set up some kind of simple file share or Workgroup to acces files locally while still keeping the RDP
    functionality on the server?
And, will WS 2012 Foundation R2 do this as well as WS 2012 Standard R2?
(I have been asking several locat MS representatives to find a solution to our needs, but no one seems to know how this works....of cause we could just get 2 WS 2012 Standard server instances, run one as DC and on as RDCB and upgrade all our clients to Win
7 Pro, but we would like a solution with minimal investment in time and money)
    Rgds
    Petter

    Hi Ryan,
and thanks for the answer! I do not know how to do "multiple quote" in this forum so I do it this way:
"have you considered virtualisation, as you can run multiple virtual machines under one licence. I think this would be the cheapest and most efficient use of your money. Upgrading your clients to Windows 7 pro would allow you to have domain control
    Single Sign On SSO. "
This is the "official" solution I think: Upgrade all clients to Win 7 Pro and run two instances of Win Server 2012 Standard on the server.
However, I was hoping to get away with something a bit more Quick & Dirty.....;-) We do not have big security issues and will have a good backup system, and I think for 3 users only, it will be more work trying to centralise administration like updating,
backups etc, than to just go to each machine and do what is needed.
We are good with computers/Windows but have no Server experience. A server guy will help us get started, but I dont want him around after that, so it must be a very simple solution.
Also, installing 2 instances of WS 2012 and upgrading all 3 clients to Win Pro, and then installing all software and settings on the clients into the new domain user accounts on these clients is quite a lot of work. So I was hoping to keep only existing local
users on the client machines and only have some kind of file share thing going on with the server disks that we need to access. So perhaps use a Workgroup instead of a domain, if that works with the RDS setup?
    "Option 1
2 virtual machines 1x DC and 1x RDS server."
So, if we set up RDS this way (so we can log in remote and run our application session-based on the server), can we keep the local clients running Windows Home Premium using our current local user logins (ie no domain user accounts created on the client machines,
as this is impossible in Home versions) and still access the server disks somehow, or is it impossible?
Another question is if it is stupid/a really bad solution...but I still want to know if it is possible....;-)
    "Option 2
2 virtual machines 1x DC and 1x RDS server.
You can configure your RDS solution as a domain joined platform and will still be able to access resources from the local device as you can map local drives to the session host. http://www.serverintellect.com/support/techfaq/drive-rdp/
Your users would have two sets of credentials, one for the local client and one for the domain."
I do not want to access files over VPN or RDP, we only want to run an application on the server from remote (Session-Based Remote Desktop). However when we use the local clients we want to access files on the server, and then we access huge image and film files
on fast RAID drives, so local network speed must be top speed. Also if possible we would like to not upgrade to Win Pro, and then joining a domain is not possible.
    "Option 3
    1x Server
The second option would be to manually deploy the session host role and licencing role to a work group server. This would limit access to RDP only and you would loose web access functionality."
I think this is what I was hoping for. It seems that the new R2 release of WS 2012 allows you to rund RDP and Domain Controller roles on the SAME instance of the server. That sounds nice, it limits what we need to keep track on and minimises the load on the
server that needs to act as a very fast file server locally.
However, can we do this and still keep file acces with only Windows Home (no domain) in the local clients (same question as above under "Option 1")?

  • Enterprise DNS servers are not responding when using Windows NLB with Direct Access 2012

    Hi
We have installed Direct Access 2012 as one server installation:
    - Two network cards. First one in DMZ and second one in internal network
    - Two consecutive IP addresses configured in DMZ because of Teredo
    - PKI because of Win7 Clients IPSec
    - Our corporate network is native IPv4 so we use DNS64/NAT64 and DA-server is configured as DNS
    - DA-servers are VMWare virtual machines
One server installation works fine and now we want to use Windows NLB as load balancing. NLB installation goes fine too,
but problem is DNS. If we still try to use DA-server as DNS there comes error message below
None of the enterprise DNS servers 2002:xxxx:xxxx:3333::1 used by DirectAccess clients for name resolution are responding. This might affect DirectAccess client connectivity to corporate resources.
When trying to configure DNS using Infrastructure access setup, DNS cannot be validated when using DA-servers DIP or cluster VIP. Only domain local DNS looks to be ok but those have no IPv6 addressess. So how DNS should be configured when using multicast
    NLB?
Tried to remove name suffix then adding again => Detect DNS server => DA-server IPv6 address found => validate => The specified DNS server is not responding...
Then tried to ping detected address => General failure
NLB clusters are configured as multicast and static ARPs are configured too. Both clusters can be connected from those subnets as they should be.
Any clues how to fix this?

    Hi,
RDS 2012 CALs can license 2008 R2 and 2008 session hosts. However, RDS 2012 CALs only can be installed on the 2012 Licensing server.

Install Windows, leaving the flash or hard drive attached to the USB port of your Mac.
Installation of the drivers can take a few minutes. Don't interrupt the installation process. A completion dialog box will appear when everything is installed. Click Finish when the dialog appears.
When your system restarts your Windows 8 installation is done.
Note: If the flash drive or hard drive was not attached when you installed Windows and was inserted after restarting into Windows 8, double-click the Boot Camp folder, then locate and double click the "setup.exe" file to start the installation of the Boot Camp 5 Support Software.  How do I format USB media to the FAT file system?
Use Disk Utility to format a disk to use with a Windows computer. Here's how:
Important: Formatting a disk erases all the files on it. Copy any files you want to save to another disk before formatting the disk.
    Open Disk Utility.
Select the disk you want to format for use with Windows computers.
Click Erase, and choose one of the following from the Format pop-up menu:
If the size of the disk is 32 GB or less, choose MS-DOS (FAT).
If the size of the disk is over 32 GB, choose ExFAT.
Type a name for the disk. The maximum length is 11 characters.
Click the Erase button and then click Erase again.
Which versions of Windows are supported with Boot Camp 5?
64-bit versions of Windows 8 and Windows 7 are supported using the Boot Camp 5 Support Software. If you need to use a 32-bit version, you need to use Boot Camp 4 Support Software, and you must use Windows 7. 32-bit versions of Windows 8 are not supported via Boot Camp. For a complete list of Windows OS support, click here.
    Model-specific Questions
I receive a "Free up space on Drive C" message when I try to do an upgrade install from Windows 7 to Windows 8 on my MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012).  Why am I seeing this?
There is not enough free space available to do an upgrade install with the 64 GB SSD configuration. Delete the Boot Camp partition and do a full install instead. See this article for more information.
I see a black screen or distortion when I install Windows 8 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012). How do I fix this?
The Windows 8 installer does not contain the correct graphics driver for your computer. You'll need to attach the USB media that contains the Boot Camp drivers during installation to address this issue. See this article for more information.
The volume controls keys (F1 and F2) won't work on my iMac (Mid 2011). How do I control the volume?
Use the Settings Charm to control screen brightness. See this article.
My MacBook Air (Mid 2012) will not start Windows 8, or displays VGA graphics when it stats up. How can I fix this?
Your MacBook Air (Mid 2012) needs an EFI Firmware update to address this issue. Download and install the MacBook Air EFI Firmware Update 2.6.
I see a "Windows 8 is not supported on this Mac" message on my Mac. Can my Mac run Windows 8?
For a complete list of Mac computers and the Windows operating systems they support, click here.
    Additional Information
For more information about using Boot Camp, please visit www.apple.com/support/bootcamp.
You want to use apps directly for games, excel maybe and don't have enough RAM and processing, run Windows natively. Want to run light weight, use a VM like VirtualBox (free).
Want to do both, dual boot and run Windows as a guest OS, then Parallels or VMware Fusion.
Most do so to run games. Macs and the MacBook Pro line do tend to run hotter under Windows. Fan control is sorely weak to almost not well implemented so use something like AIDA64 and/or other temp sensor monitoring.
