Want to view Webi report in interactive mode in EP

Hi,
I am currently doing BO Integration with SAP 7.0. I have done the Integration successfully & have imported roles. Our requirement is that the reports needs to be viewed in EP. I have done the EP portal integration as per the installation document. I can view my CR & webi reports from portal. But my client wants to view the webi reports in Interactive mode as he views in BO Infoview 3.1. I can't find any work around for this.. can anyone help me in viewing the webi report in interactive mode inside EP.
Right now am viewing the report in html format, which is the default, (report viewer.do). Is there any functionality or other viewer name to make my requirement possible
I have installed SAP BO 3.1 & BO Integration Kit 3.

Hi,
you can integrate the viewing of Web Intelligence using OpenDocument or using the KM Integration. The type of the viewer then depends on the user preferences configured in InfoView.

Hi All,
I checked with the BO authorization team who grant access to different user groups to access BO reports. It means that I was not having the access rights to view my report in "Rich Internet Application" mode. Once the access permissions were granted to my user group. I see the option as highlighted in red below. To view the report in reading mode in BO 4.0 BI Launchpad, you should set the preferences as below:

you can use the standard web based application called OpenDocument. You can find the details as part of the documentation for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise available on help.sap.com
Each report can be opened using simply the browser URL - which you can integrate into NWBC.

Launch Interactive Viewer Webi Reports - JSP

We are trying to build a Report Dashboard which shows the reports similar to how you see in the InfoView. We have achieved most of the functionality. We have an issue where we want to open the Interactive Viewer for any Webi Reports so that the users can modify the reports... Essentially when we open these Webi Reports in InfoView, we are seeing the option to Edit, but we do not see the same option in our App... Does anybody know a way to launch the Webi Reports in the Interactive Viewer?Thanks, Rajiv 

Rajiv,Â 2 questions for you:
[1] Is this a security issue?Â The user account logging into your report viewer application - is this the same user account that you logged into InfoView with?Â The Settings for WEBI in the CMC may be different for these users - hence you see different report viewer options.
[2] Are you using openDocument.jsp in your report viewer application?

Unable to open Webi report in edit mode

Hi All,
While i am trying to open a web intelligence report in "Modify" mode, its throwing an error "The document cannot be created or opened. The error code is: FILE NOT FOUND."
Please let me know how to retrieve the report as i am not having a back up of the reports.
Version: BO XI 3.1 SP3

Hi Akhil,
Generally if the "Preferences" you have set in InfoView for Creating/Modifying webi documents is Desktop, then this error is thrown.
You have 2 choices:
01. Change the preferences to "Web" and try the workflow.
02. Do this workflow where WebI Rich Client is installed.

Want to schedule WebI report for End date of Prior Month

Hello Experts,
We have WebI report created on top of Bex Query, We have key date as prompt for the report. Can we schedule the webi report for key date as last date of prior month, so if current month is February, my key date should be Jan 30 2011. I am not sure if this is possible?

You need to apply two FM to get the end day of the month.
First you need to apply FM MONTHS_PLUS_DETERMINE. This will give you the date after 3 months.
 CALL FUNCTION 'MONTH_PLUS_DETERMINE'
 EXPORTING
 MONTHS = 3 " << for 3 months
 OLDDATE = l_start_Date " << 12/01/2007
 IMPORTING
 NEWDATE = l_3_Date. " << 02/01/2008
Then call the FM RP_LAST_DAY_OF_MONTHS . this will give you the end date of the month
CALL FUNCTION 'RP_LAST_DAY_OF_MONTHS'
 EXPORTING
 day_in = l_3_Date " << 02/01/2008
 IMPORTING
 last_day_of_month = l_3_Date " < 02/29/2008
 EXCEPTIONS
 day_in_no_date = 1
 OTHERS = 2.
Call both FMs again to get your another date(after 4 months).

REP-1352 when running web reports in character mode on linux server

Hi
After migration from 6i to 10g we have problems when we run reports in character mode on a linux (Red Hat Enterprise 4) application server (10.1.2.0.2).
The error REP-1352 occurs with any NLS_LANG or report's font setup. Original report's font is Courier New (Occidental) and NLS_LANG=FRENCH_FRANCE.WE8ISO8859P1.
I created a new simple report in character mode with font Courier New and it is generated successfully.
Witch migration step could I apply to avoid this error ?

I didn't precise that reports failed to be executed with desformat=delimited but succeded with desformat=pdf.

Crystal Reports XI R2 Javascript error when viewing web report

I have an ASP web application that was working fine with XI but when I upgraded to XI R2 I received the following error when displaying a report in the report viewer.
Line: 461
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: my report URL
When I debug with a javascript debugger the line in question reads as
addOnloadFunction(reportViewerNamebobjInit);
I need to get the reports to run without this error.

The only personal folders visible from under Admin panel are for users Administrator and Guest. I've tried to query CMS tables but these store entries not in plain text so I cannot identify entries connected to personal folders. I have also tried to do this via Query Repository tool but all returned entries were ok.
I have also noticed that when trying to load group from LDAP after it returns error "LDAP: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder." entry for this group is created in CMS table. Also this group is then visible in admin Groups panel. No users are created with the group and when I'm trying to list users belonging to added group it returns "internal secLDAP security plug-in error" but without any other suggestion what went wrong.

I had an issue when view a web intelligence report on InforViewApp as below:

The problem seems to be due to the language (Italian)!
If the user sets on client preferences the English language is able to properly access to the report, but if accessed by user configured for the Italian language reports WebI don't work (error messasge 30270).
Any ideas?

I want to view web sites in more than one open window instead of tabs. How do I change the settings to do that?

I want to have more than one window open with firefox at the same time instead of having multiple web sites up using tabs. but every time I try to do this a tab opens instead. I am using windows 7.

You can copy a bookmark from one folder and paste it in another folder to have a copy in more than one folder.

View CR in Interactive mode

Can anyone tell me if we can view a Crystal Report in infoview in interactive mode just like viewing a webi report in interactive mode. I have changed the mode to interactive under webi in InfoView preferences, but there is nothing like that for CR. Can any one help me in having this feature for a CR. My client wants to view CR in a interactive manner.

Hi Ash,
Basically no. Only options you would be able to give them would be Parameters to alter the results and then refreshing.
If you have a Developer available you could write your own interactive Report Viewer using the Report Application Server ( RAS ) in either .NET or Java. There is nothing SAP BOE ships for CR.

Open Webi reports via xcelsius

Hi Gurus,
I want to open webi report using URL BUTTON via xcelsius dashboard.
I genereted webi report url. and I tested it on borwser(explorer and firefox). ther was no problem, I can see webi report.
But When I used url button on xcelsius dashboard; first came bobje login page, After I İnput my logon info. ooops
seem below eror message.
An error has occurred: An error occured while trying to view the document
What is the problem? Anybody can help me, please.

Server Side Trust and Webi Report Scheduling via Portal

Hello,
I have opened a similar thread about Server Side Trust and webintelligence reporting through the portal a few months ago.
At the time, we had some complaints about users that were getting SSO errors after 8 hours when scheduling WeBi Report through the SAP Portal.
Basically, the users connect to the Portal and then FROM the Portal, to a BOI view pointing to the Infoview.
Then, after investigatinon, it was my understanding that the WebI Reports should be scheduled through an Infoview token and not a portal token. In concrete terms Server Side Trust had to be implemented between the SAP BW Backend and the BOE 3.1 Server.
And after that the users who wanted to schedule WebI reports should connect to the Infoview directly (using their SAP BW credentials) to generate an Infoview Token.
Scheduling Webi reports from the Portal will not be solved by implementing Server Side Trust, since it is only a matter of time before the the Portal token expires ( 8 hour by default).
Now, I have configured the server side Trust between our BOE 3.1 SP2 and our BW 701 system, SNC configuration, PSE generation, exchange of certificats , etc ...
I did some scheduling tests connecting directly to the BO Infoview and it works.
But of course, now I am being told by the users that this solution is not acceptable.
The Portal being the entry point of our Infrastructure, they don't want to connect to the Infoview to schedule their reports.
So I opened a SAP customer call to try to have an official and clear statement from SAP but I never obtained it.
I had a look at my SAP BO courses but I am still confused
For example according to SAP BO100 , server side trust should be implemented when ;
"BOE client session authenticated using Single sign on using SAP token
(Enterprise Portal) and SAP reports are being scheduled at a future point in
time (after token expiry date)."
Anyone can help me to clear my mind ?

first of all lets separate the UI portion from the technical portion.
on the technical side:
yes for scheduling the Web Intelligence document you will need Server side trust
on the UI side:
- scheduling is part of InfoView
- scheduling is part of the KM integration with the portal
if that is not accepted from a UI point of view from the user you can create your own application to schedule documents using the SDK.
