Want to buy new phone for wife's birthday

My wife and I are on Verizon and she has had her current phone for over 3 years. We have recently began synchronizing our calendars which has been extremely helpful to us. She logs into Google Mail on her Macbook and goes to the calendar to put in events. Her current phone does not synchronize - it is completely standalone. I have a Treo 650p that I synchronize at work with my work calendar (MS Outlook). I have also installed Google Calendar Sync with her credentials and do a one way sync: from Google to Outlook. This way, I have both my work calendar and home calendar saved on both Outlook and my Treo 650p. This is a great solution for us.
She says she would like a phone similar to mine - one that has a qwerty keyboard. It could be the style where the keyboard slides out and you rotate the phone 90 degrees to do the typing. Or it could be like the Treo 650p. Neither one of us use text messaging. We would use the keyboard to input calendar events or notes. I guess a virtual keyboard would be OK as long as it actually works well.
So her requirements are:
Has to work with her MacBook (running Leopard)
Has to play MP3s (this will replace her dying iPod Shuffle, too)
Qwerty Keyboard
weigh less than my Treo 650p (she thinks this is slightly too heavy)
Has to sync to/from google calendar (or another desktop calendar (for the MacBook) as a go-between would be sufficient)
I'd like to try to stay in the $150-$200 range and do not mind renewing the 2 year contract.
I would prefer a phone that takes the stamp sized SD card, but would settle for mirco SD.
Speaker phone would be nice, but is optional.
Must work on verizon.
I would be really appreciate anyone who could help me narrow down my choices. I don't keep up with cell phones so I am not sure which vendors / models are really good and which ones are not so good.

Looks like the only phone guarantied to work is the iPhone, which unfortunately is locked into AT&T.
I say this based on my regular observation of post's in the iSync forum for various phones & PDA's . I have 2 very popular Motorola phones , RAZR & KRZR that worked flawlessly in Tiger with iSync but won't do squat in Leopard . Now i'm stuck between Apple & Motorola pointing fingers .

Purchasing a battery from a third party vendor is a high risk proposition. Many such batteries have been found to be substandard.
I suggest that you try and contact Apple and see if you can have one shipped to you.

When you sell your iMac, please remember that if you bought Mountain Lion upgrade at the app store, the license is not transferable and you need to erase the drive and reinstall the original system (which was most likely Snow Leopard?). If you don't do that, the buyer can never reinstall Mountain Lion because the license is tied to your Apple ID forever.

Your phone needs more storage, buying storage on iCloud.com doesn't change that.
Delete some of the stuff off of your phone, it's full.

You buy one download and one download only, it is your responsibility to backup your music.
it has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

I have a credit card on file in my I tunes account, but I have been using gift cards for years. iTunes has never hit my credit card if I had enough money on my account with the gift cards.
The money should be taken from your account, if you have sufficient funds in the account. If your purchase goes over the amount that you have in the account, the entire purchase will be put on your credit card, even if you are only pennies over the account balance.

Yes, they can play games - there are hundreds if not thousands of games available in the iTunes Store. Beware of the "free" games; many are free for the base game but charge for things like additional levels, "coins" etc. and those paid add-ons can add up quickly, to dozens or even in some cases hundreds of dollars. I'd strongly suggest you set up restrictions on the iPad to prevent your children from making unauthorized purchases. See:

You will need an Internet provider of some sort; Apple is not a provider and so the iPad does not include a data service. You can either use a home Internet connection with a WiFi access point (aka "router") or you can get an iPad with WiFi+Cellular and sign up for a data plan with a cell carrier. WiFi through a home Internet service will probably be cheaper.

sales at AppStore are based upon 'users'= accounts; if the other Mac is running under your account, you can download and install a copy of iMovie 'for free' (the ToU of Appstore allow to install purchases on as many computers you own = running under your account)
If the other Mac is running under a different account, you have to log-in at AppStore under those account, and purchase it it.

This one is very old, i already changed this battery one time, i think Apple store of town won't be ok to make the work cause i have made it myself one time before (it has fallen several times, almost broken, means impossible to shut the battery place but still working on). So i bought a battery to a third provider, wich doesn't work of course, try to ask to online assistance but i have to pay 30 € just to ask my question and i doesn't want...
