Wanted: an installer disk for os x 10.4.11 macbook pro please!!!, Wanted: an installer disk for os x 10.4.11 macbook pro please!!!

Hi, I have an old macbook pro 2006, intel. My hard drive recently broke and I bought a new one which can't be formatted by the installer (10.4.6). It's a question of 4kb or 512kb sectors as I understand. The installer sees the 500gb drive as a 3.6tb drive. Anyway I heard that 10.4.11 can recognise this hard drive, so I'd really like to get my hands on an installer for 10.4.11. Apple store can't help me and I can't find one to download (that would be really useful actually). 10.5 and later installers don't work on the MBP also, so I think it has to be a 10.4 version.
Thanks Ben

Hi, yep I called them. They don't support installers that far back and the newer installers won't work. It's only 10.4.11 that I can use.

    2) How to SMI Label/Format a disk while OS Installation in Solaris 11.1?
As we know that ZFS is the default filesystem in Solaris 11.
We have seen in the Oracle documentation that for rpool below are recommended:
    - A disk that is intended for a ZFS root pool must be created with an SMI label, not an EFI label.
    - Create root pools with slices by using the s* identifier.
    - ZFS applies an EFI label when you create a storage pool with whole disks.
    - In general, you should create a disk slice with the bulk of disk space in slice 0.
I have seen the solution that using format -e, we change the labelling but all the data will be lost, whats the way to apply a SMI Label/Format on a rpool disks while OS Installation itself.
Please provide me the steps to SMI Label a disk while installaing Solaris 11.1 OS.

Oracle recommends below things on rpool: (thats reason wanted to apply SMI Label)

  • I want to cache all files in my web server for JRE auto installation

    Hi,
I have written an application for my customer. When they access my web server, they will auto-install jre 6.12 and then load my application using jnlp. All that is done, but i want to improve in the following ways:
    1. I want to have more quiet installation of java. It should only show progress bar or just run in background. In the jre installation file (cab file), there is a file jinstall-6u12.inf, the last line is "run=%EXTRACT_DIR%\jinstall.exe /installurl=http://localhost/1.6.0_12-b04.xml /installmethod=plugin". What should I add to this line to make the installation more quiet?
    2. When my client install jre, i want them to fetch all necessary files from my web server, so when java web site is down, i can still provide files they need to install java. I am aiming jre 6.12 only.
    Thank you in advance.

Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilitiies > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon
In AirPort Utility 6.x.....click Edit to the right of the Time Capsule
In AirPort Utility 5.x.....click Manual Setup
Click the Disks icon/tab at the top of the next window
    Click Erase
The "Quick Erase" option will only take a few minutes, but it is not a secure Erase.
The "Zero Out" option will replace everything on the disk with zeros, and will likely take 4-6 hours for the process to complete, depending on the size of the drive.
The erase procedure will only affect the disk. It will not affect any of the network settings, passwords, etc that you have stored on the Time Capsule.

Hi ,i bought a MacBookPro which came with Lion installed on it (i have registered my mac book pro right after i bought it), i also wanted to have a copy of the installation disc in case of a crash, so i used mac app store to get it.Normally if an app is already bought (for iphone app store) there is a warning or a sign that informs the buyer, than the app store lets the buyer to re-download/re-install the app.I've charged for this download afterwards, because i was using virtual credit card, there was not enough money transferred to that card during that download but the app store let me download it anyway. I haven't charged before the download, the app store first let me to download it then it requested that amount of money for next download wich it was a free app. Can anybody enlight me? thanks

    Hi ...
i also wanted to have a copy of the installation disc in case of a crash
If you have problems with your Mac you use Lion Recovery
However, you can create your own installation disc >  How to create an OS X Lion installation disc | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews
Since Lion came pre installed on your Mac, the App Store doesn't not recognize that as a purchase so you if you want to re download Lion to create a boot disk you will have to pay for it. You can then re download Lion on all your authorized Macs for free.

    Hello,
I wanted to clarify that when the installer was hanging and asking you to insert CD disk 2.  It was actually looking for a second folder title NIDAQ8502, which has document and product information.
This folder is downloaded to the above location when running the self extracting executable NIDAQ850.exe from the installer page link “NI-DAQmx8.5 (810 MB)”.   Please check to see if the folder is in the appropriate location or if it was deleted.

I wanted to install windows for Mac and I had vista so I put I the disk and installed  followed the steps it then it  closed my  computer wen I turned it on it went straight to windows and it asked me to install it and put in the windows box code I found out I didn't have it so I wanted to go back to Mac I shut it off and it just goes back to windows and asks me to put the box code how do I get rid of it and go back to Mac because no buttons work at the start and i can't take out the disk !! Help

The two other posts are correct... so I'll just clarify.  What's happening right now is your system is trying to boot into Windows in order to finish the installation.  What you want to do is make it boot into OS X.  As mende1 indicated, with your system off, hold down the Option key and continue to hold it while you turn the system on.  You will eventually be presented with an option to select which partition you would like to boot from.  Choose OS X.  After you get into OS X, again, as mende1 indicated, change the Startup Disk to OS X.  What this will do is cause your system to automatically boot into OS X when you restart it instead of you having to use the Option key when booting each time.
Relaunching BootCamp Assistant will allow you to remove your Windows installation and partition.

  • Creating a Windows 7 installation disk for S12-ION (and similar)...

In a recent (now dissapeard) thread the subject of creating a backup Windows 7 Installation disk that will work with the Win7 Home Premuim OA key on the sticker on the bottom of S12-IONs.
Unfortunately that thread got stomped on because it strayed off path.
So, I've started this thread to discuss the afore mentioned subject and request that we do not discuss anything outside that that we are legally allowed to do (and I suggest it might be sensible to avoid making any kind of comment that could be deemed to be outside the acceptable usage policy for these forums).
OK, so, does anyone have any further information on this process?
I know we need to start with a (legally obtained) Win7 install disk.
This can then be altered to operate as any given (or optionally all) version of Windows 7 install disk.
However, does the disk that one alters need to be a specific version?
My guess would be that a Windows 7 Ultimate disk is most likely to work, but I suspect all Windows 7 install disks are essentially identical, bar a configuration that one needs to modify.
Now, one could also, at this point, 'slip-stream' the disk to contain specific drivers, or required other software, for the target hardware (in my case, an S12-ION).
    Would this be necessary?
What S12-ION drivers/software need to/can be slipstreamed in this way?
I'm sure there are other questions too...
Anyway, I plan to do some research, and will post what I find, but if anyone else knows anything about either of these processes, please feel free to contribute...
    Scott

'Sweet', as I believe 'the kids' say these days.
Though, I'm still going to look into slipstreaming stuff into a disk - essentially I want what I wish Lenovo provided - one disk with all the base-level drivers and Lenovo management software pre-installed - so I can manage my HDD my way.
@omgmog: it's exactly those *ways* (or, rather, those that are legal) that this thread is here to discuss...
Now, an update on my research: I need to stand corrected on one point - Microsoft haven't made it all that easy...
But, unless Lenovo come up with, I dunno, maybe an iso I can just download and burn to disk, I'm going to keep going and see if I can figure out what the best, most hassle free, way of achieving our legal right is.

  • What is "Disk 2" for in the packaging for Premiere Elements 9? Content or installation need?

I just got the Premiere Elements 9 yesterday and used "Disk 1" for the installation.  There is NOTHING that I found in the packaging materials to explain what "Disk 2" is used for.  Is it needed for further installation?  Content?  I hesitate to just put it in the DVD tray without knowing what it is to be used for.  I did download the full templates content last night (4 1/2 hours for nearly 5GB of a file).  Thanks for any information anyone can provide me.

    Bill,
Thank you for your comments!  I figured that maybe, possibly someone in the
Adobe higher up level might monitor the forums, see my posting(s) and see my
point.  A few years ago I had gotten the second or third generation of
Premiere and Photoshop Elements and have had them on my main computer.
    Still do.
I just got a laptop and earlier this spring I got a Flip HD Slide camcorder,
but trying to convert those videos to burn on DVD has proven to be a pain.
I only found one or two software packages that could convert the MPG4
formats, and they take forever to format.  So I thought that I'd get PE9
since I'd read that it had Flip video compatibility.  It did a good job
yesterday doing what I wanted it to do in burning a DVD.
I'm old school on labeling the installation disks.  Like you said, years ago
Adobe (and other software companies, for that matter) had pretty good
installation and reference cards for use.  I just wasn't quite sure what to
do with Disk 2.  I got on the Live Chat yesterday morning with a ViJay Kanna
and all he could come up with was to contact tech support.  So I called that
800 number and got the message that it would be $39.95 for them to answer
    questions.
I decided that I'd better find a better way, so I hung up and found the PE9
forum.  Posted my question and had a response in just a matter of minutes.
I'll certainly be checking in on the forums!  It is nice when other
contributors actually provide good, solid information, advice, and support
    for each other!
I just got back from our town square, using my Flip camcorder to get some
shots of Santa arriving with his police escort to visit with some Fairfield
children before heading off on his rounds.  I'm looking forward now to see
what I can put together on PE9!
Have a great holiday and thank you for your support and thoughts.  They are
much appreciated.  Maybe someone at Adobe will change their disk labels
after all! That is one of my 'wishes' for Santa!
    Sincerely,

  • I want to create an "up to date" installation disk from my own one. So after installing the system shouldn't need to download any update. Is that possible? If so, how? Thanks.

I know how to make an installation disk without things that I won't use and that can be burnt in a single layer DVD. But I want to make one that would be up to date with all the updates that have been released until now included.
Is that possible? How do I download the updates? How do y include them in the DVD? I would be great if I don't have to isntall them manually after installing the macosx.
I think there should be two ways of doing so:
1.- Include the updates in the DVD and execute them after the system installation.
2.- That the installation itself were up to date.
Can anyone help me? Thak you.

I don't believe it is. TimeCapsule restore would be limited to the same platform it was backed up from?
I think what the OP is after is the idea of slipstreamed DVD including Snow Leopard *&* the latest combo updates. In the Windows world this is referred to as a slipstreamed install.
For example you could have the latest build of SL plus the latest combo update slipstreamed in and this should work flexibly across a number of platforms.
Unfortunately though I don't know if it's possible with OSX. It's a real time-saver in the Windows world though if you have a number of machines to deploy or if you're constantly building/assembling VMs for example.

I lost my disk for cs5 creative suite 5.5 design premium but I have product code and a new computer I want to reinstall. What can I do?

You can download the software from the website and then type in your old serial number to activate it... that is, IF the installer database will work with your operating system. I am having problems reinstalling CS4 with a new computer running on Win 8.1. When I called customer support, they told me a whole lot of nothing for 45 minutes and then directed me to a chat session. After about 30 minutes on chat, I was basically told they don't offer support for older products. The website says "no known issues" for installation... but that very well may be because they are unwilling to record the issues when someone calls to report them! Good luck with your install. I wish I had CS5 at this point, as it appears there is still support available for it... but you are on the bubble timewise for that to continue. Other downloads

  • Disk space for OS X 10.4.8 installation

    Hi,
I erased the mac installation and reinstalled the 10.4.8 OS x, It simply installs all the applications with out users intervension. Mac installation occupied a disc space of 16GB.
    I used the disc1 and disc2 of OS X 10.4.8.
My intention is to load windows and use 99% of my hard disc space for windows.
can i install OS X 10.4.8 with minimal boot options and load it in 2GB to 5GB?
if yes what are the options that i need to check while installing OS X 10.4.8.

You can do a customize install to install only the operating system and not the iLife applications, not the foreign languages, and not the printers you don't want, but I agree, you really want at least 15 GB free of hard disk space once Mac OS X is installed.
I would also strongly consider that installing Windows on your Mac, you still subject the Windows side of the machine to possible viruses and adware. It is better to get Mac compatible equivalent software than rely on Windows software titles when you have a Mac. My FAQs*: http://www.macmaps.com/crossplatform.html and http://www.macmaps.com/macosxnative.html should help in that endeavor of finding the right software.

  • Installer 2011DS1: hand crafted disk labels for compatibility checks?

I have a problem with the installer of Labview 2011 DS1in combination with Vision. I want to create an installer for an application that uses vision and therefore selected the additional installers "NI Vision Common Resources 2010 SP1" and "NI Vision Run-Time Engine 2010 SP1". The assistant then asks for the disk "NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 - DVD 2". When I insert that disk the assistant complains
"The disk you have provided is a different version of the requested disk.
Disk Requested: NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 - DVD 2
Disk Provided: NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 DVD 2
It seems, a litte missing hyphen in the disk name prevents me from deploying my application. You could argue to simply choose another DVD containing the run time engine. This leads to an overwhelming list of disk alternatives one has to manually click through in order to find another variant of the installer. The assistant knows what installer is missing and obviously knows whether the selected disks contain this installer but it is unable to filter the list to show applicable alternatives only.
After a lot of clicks, I found another disk containing the vision runtime. It is "NI Vision Developer Module 2010 SP 1" and when I insert a DVD that is labelled exacly the same, the assistant complains:
"The disk you have provided is a valid installer, but it does not match the disk requested.
Disk Requested: NI Vision Developer Module 2010 SP 1
    Disk Provided: VDM2010SP1DVD
There is an alternative Disk that seems to have the same label as my DVD and so I selected "VDM2010SP1DVD", click "Yes" and of course get the error message I have attached. After that message, nothing else happens. At least no installer for my application is created.
Is there any way to create an installer with Labview 2011 SP1? Could you please refrain from using obviously hand crafted disk labels for compatibility checks?
    With best regards
