Why do you want to disable F1? What computer model do you have? What happens when you press F1 on your machine? Open up BIOS or boot menu?
BTW, no F function is possible to be disable, that I am aware of, meaning you can have F2 for BIOS or F10, then F11, etc...those will function according to its design.

Hey guys, I currently have windows 7 on my pavilion laptop. I'm trying to install ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS on it from the cd-rom drive. Unfortunately, the ubuntu installer does not detect my hard drive's windows 7 partition while booting in UEFI mode as Windows 7 was installed in legacy/bios mode.
I want to either disable UEFI booting or to make the bios prioritize BIOS/legacy boot ahead of UEFI so I can correctly install a second OS. Unfortunately, the bios options I see do not seem to allow me to switch to a legacy boot, they only allow me to change the boot priority within each of those modes. Is there any way for me to boot with legacy?

The blue items are the only things that are selectable; the gray/black items cannot be navigated to.

This is actually rediculous and i've seen so many people become infuriated over this same issue that SHOULDN'T be an issue at all. I've been trying for FOUR hours to install ubuntu and get rid of shi**y windows 8.1. That's right FOUR hours. Not only have I had to redo the USB write to make it bootable multiple times i've had to sit through countless slow reboots because 8.1 is just a piece of malware that i've had to deal with for about a year due to the fact that I have no choice in what operating system I use on my laptop. Oh, and before someone says try burning it to a CD heres something funny, My Toshiba Satellite C55T-B5109 came with a fake optical drive so.... I've changed boot order i've switched to CSM boot, I only have two boot options and when I switched it booted a black screen with white text talking about how I need to insert a usb or cd(sorry i cant) and try again which I did, so i just switched back to the original boot option. I've already disabled fast boot and I updated my BIOS to v1.4 (the latest version) but that of course didnt do anything because toshiba is probably getting paid to make it almost (if not) impossible to use anything but the virus that is windows 8.1. Nobody speak a word if you dont know how to directly solve the problem. I don't want to see "Thats happening to me too! plz help" or "that sucks" be constructive or dont bother. The only solution or "you should try" should directly correlate to secure boot. Not the load order. The boot options. This needs to be solved immediately because the fact that the choice of a different OS should be available to everyone its my computer. I bought it.

That would be great but when I try CSM Boot it just says insert a valid USB or something of that nature. To which I keep unplugging and re-plugging the USB but it still doesnt get detected as a bootable drive. So I practically HAVE to use UEFI boot and no matter what I do it kicks windows back into my face. I can try selecting the boot from USB option but that doesn't work. I but USB at the top of my load order and my HDD at the bottom, but that doesn't work. I also opened BIOS at startup and clicked the USB but all it does is kick me into windows once again. I disabled fast boot, I finally forced secure boot off, but I still can't install Ubuntu. I've re-written the USB multiple times and I would try to burn it to a CD but I don't have an optical drive. I opened msconfig and had a look at the boot tab but it only lists the C: drive with windows 8 as the default OS. I've looked up everything and I have tried it. It seriously should not be this hard to install the OS of your choice because Windows decides that you have to use their OS. I must be doing something wrong so please tell me i'm out of ideas.

The simple way would be to uncheck 'Mail' in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud, but as you would need access to the devices in question to do that you will have to change your password, at http://appleid.apple.com. You will then need to sign out and back on all the devices you want to be able to receive mail, and it's important that you follow this procedure and note the warning:
Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Password & Security' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new password and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.
The devices on which you have not changed the password will throw up continual error messages as they attempt to contact iCloud and fail.

The Game Center app is pre installed and cannot be removed from the device.
Best thing to do is move it to the last available screen.
Hold down the Game Center app until all the apps jiggle then sliide the Game Center app to the right from one screen to the next. This requires a bit of finesse, but it's doable.
Press the Home button one time to stop the apps from jiggling.
For the Apple ID issue, try resetting.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then try your Apple ID and password for the Game Center app.

Windows 8 installer doesn't want to format the boot camp partition

I followed this instructions : http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/45898/how-to-install-windows-8-on-a-mac
All works but the installer doesn't want to format the boot camp partition, i click on "option" > "format", i wait like 3-4 seconds (so not enought to format 100Go) and then same error "Windows can't be installed on this partition".
Any idea ?

Macbook Pro 15'' 2,4 GHz Intel Core i5
Mac OS X v10.7.5
1 Drive : 320Go
1 USB KEY that i used to install osx lion, so i think it's not the problem.
1 Windows8 64 downloaded from my university, and it works on a PC.

I have the same issue. Dec. 2013 13" macbook pro with 1tb ssd. Windows 8 Pro (have the box/cd).
Why is it that I can find every computer problem I ever have in a thread somewhere where someone else had the same problem too....but the threads never have solutions. There should be a name for this phenomenon.

Want to disable/"grey out" dial-up connection "settings" button in the "connections" tab of Internet Options

Hi, I'm looking to "grey out" a dial-up connection for some users in workplace, so that they are forced to use our VPN client in order to access the web. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I know you can disable all settings on that tab using local group policy, (e.g. Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer) but I only want to disable a specific dial-up connection (for usb 3G modems).
I've read of various IE settings being locked down in the registry here, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions, but havent seen the settings I want.
The actual connection is visible here, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections, I just cant figure out how to grey it out. Any ideas? Thanks!

Isn't that just exactly what transaction CO02 does? CO01 is for creating production orders so what sense does it make to have it display mode only?
Maybe your goal is to stop then end user changing the component assignment that is automatically detected by the system. If so, personally I think a better starting point would be PP configuration or user authorizations rather than looking to change the screen by whatever method. As we don't know what you are trying to achieve it's hard to offer much more advice maybe all you need is to change transaction to CO02

iTunes will continue making encrypted backups until you deselect the Encrypt backup checkbox in the iTunes Device Summary screen. You need the backup password to disable backup encryption or to restore from an encrypted backup.

Hi Martin Voros,
What you are saying is wrong i guess. Because in our company some times users complaining that they can't save reports as a local file since the "List > Save > Local File" link is disable (ash color). Once i give the autherization for object S_GUI field name ACTVT = 61, they can go ahead with that and save it as a local file.
Like wise if some one tell me the obect for "Goto > Cost > Analysis" that is enough i beleive.
