Wanted to install KB2981965 But It's Not Applicable?
A new hotfix that may improve file system performance has been released: KB2981965.
I would love to try it but...
My version of Ntoskrnl is not the version the article claims is required. I'm not sure if this is because I have Win 8.1 Pro Media Center Edition, or because of a Windows Update more recent than this hotfix which updated Ntoskrnl.
Note that the article claims it will only update version 6.3.9600.17237, while I have a slightly newer one...
Any ideas?

Thanks for your insight, Robert. I'm still not clear on whether the things done for hotfixes (limited distribution) are destined for inclusion into the main line code (and in particular, whether this particular file system performance improvement
will become available in time).
Well, because I recently experimented with the following command:
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase
My favorite Windows 8.1 VM cannot offer me the Uninstall option (no context menu at all pops up), so I would have to try the uninstall/hotfix/reinstall on my main workstation in order to test this, and I'm not sure I'm willing to do that.
So I need to drop back to an old snapshot and bring the VM up to date again without doing the /ResetBase command (exactly the reason I don't test things on the workstation itself).
More as I learn it!

That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.

There should not be any reason you cannot download it, unless you are referring to not having a link in your account for it.

You need 10.7.5 or later for iCloud.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.

To upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion or Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. B. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Are you not seeing the icon of the app you just downloaded (it happens sometimes, and the quick fix is to reset your iPad)? Or are you running out of space on your iPad?

No it will not as it will create a new partition (GUID) which will have nothing at the start and then it will the windows os but till then it will not erase anything

OK The licensing.adobe.com won't let me login, I can't get it to do anything. I downloaded new install file from the download cs3 site. Deleted old file installed the new ones and got the same error 194:12 thanks -

FInd the original installer discs you have iPhoto on. By the way, your signature makes no sense for the forum you are in, nor the knowledgebase article you posted the question from.
HT1338 discusses the Mac App Store, not available till mac OS X 10.6.6 or later.
Mavericks is Mac OS X 10.9 and later.
Your signature says you have 10.2.x.
Lacking further info, we can't give you concrete information. Where did you get iPhoto from? The App Store or an installer CD of iLife, or the installer disc that came with your iMac?
What operating system do you really have installed?
Did you backup your data before attempting to install? If not, that was very bad judgement on your call, as anything can fail at anytime once you begin an install. -

1. If you just want to run one application, control-click it and choose Open instead of changing the setting. This only needs to be done once per application.

Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
