WANTED: Universal X-Tunes

For those who have a PowerPC-based Mac, you should give X-Tunes a try, it's free.
Not after long will you learn that it is the best small app of its kind. It gives you a quick, unintrusive way to launch iTunes and control it while in the background.
What can I say? give its features a read, download it an try it and you'll learn to love it in no time.
And again, if Pierre happened to read this post, I kindly request him to release an updated universal version to it. One that added a new rating feature, that's all I'd like it to include. Otherwise it's perfect.
To my fellow co-users: If you like the app (and I'm sure you will) please leave a note here so it's more and more evident how much we request the app updated.

If you mean that you want to update your device to iOS 7.1.1, then if it supports iOS 7 and you already have iOS 5+ on it then you should have a Settings > General > Software Update option on it for direct update. If it's on iOS 4or below then you can only update by connecting the device to your computer's iTunes (you will need an up-to-date version of iTunes on your computer). Whichever way you do the update first copy any purchases over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, take a backup, and preferably take your own copy of any important documents/photos (they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have your own copy as well)

If you want to update your computer's iTunes (the current version is 11.2.2) then :

Want to fine tune database

Hi all,
I noticed some slowness for my oracle database during few time not as before. i want to fine tune that database could you help please what is the way i have to follow to fine tune my database in general.
The database is on unix system and 10g version.
I herad statspack or tkproof but i've never used them and i don't know how to interpret output, please help.

Oracle provides a Performance and Tuning manual which contains a great deal of information including coverage for the statistics reported by the AWR / Statspack and use of the SQL trace facility.

HT1918 My account was set up in the United States. I now live in Turkey and I want to update my I Tunes account information but when I update my country it changes my I Tunes to Turkish which I do not speak. I want my I Tunes to remain in English.

back to the United States in order to get my I Tunes back to English. There must be some to Live in a different country and still
be able to have I Tunes in English but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Restore the device and set it up as new.
Either plug it into itunes and select restore under the summary tab, or (post ios5) go into settings, general, reset, erase all content and data. When either asks to save a backup, you dont have to....hit No etc..
This will bring the ipad to the start screen like you just bought it and erase everything.

I want to edit tunes from my violin lessons so I can play along without constantly having to stop the playing and re-set back to the beginning. How do I do that? Am I asking the correct group? Thanks for your help!

My violin teacher records tunes for me to practice at home. I download the recording onto iTunes. I want to replay the same tune over and over again without having to stop every single time to manually re-set and re-start the same tune. It would be better if I could edit out some of the verbal instructions if possible.
I can't even figure out how to replay any single tune over and over again. I apologize if I chose the wrong group. If so maybe someone could steer me in the right direction.

I want uk I tunes not american

Please help , I searched for a song in I tunes & it was only available in the American one not the uk, so I changed, but now I keep getting a error saying cannot connect to I tunes. I have checked in settings & it has uk in as the country / region.i have also logged out & back in again & this hasn't worked.

I managed to sort it somehow, not sure if it was just a fluke , but I tried to buy the song again & when I was asked if I wanted to change to American I tunes I pressed no this time & had a look in I tunes & it had reverted back . :)

No, that doesn't do it. I just tried to import an opera aria album, all tracks by the same tenor, and he is listed on each. iTunes split it into four albums. On earlier versions I could join tracks, but I don't see any way of doing that in the latest version of iTunes. The help section says to mark all the tracks and then click on the options button and a menu allowing join tracks will appear. It doesn't.
Here's another problem: iTunes consistently truncates the first two tracks, i.e. it eliminates them altogether. Help.

Want to download tunes from Music Store without upgrading to iTunes 7

I'd like to continue purchasing music from Music Store WITHOUT upgrading to iTunes 7, which my current version of iTunes instructs me to do before I can continue purchasing music.
Is there a way around this? In my view, if I want to purchase music from Music Store, I should be able to do so regardless of my current version of iTunes.

you may use the feedback forms on the support page
you HAVE to update because the itunes music store is no longer compatible with old versions they are now obsolite
either upgrade to 6.05 using the link i posted above or upgrade to version 7 from the itunes download page
either that or stop using itunes to buy music

DNP student - who want university mail on Mac mail

I am a DNP student at Walden university and am having difficulty setting up Mac Mail with my Walden U account. Can anyone help, the university support is unable to assist.

I'm assuming you are new to Mail. The SMTP settings are a bit different. You most likely will have to edit after you have setup the account.
If you let us know at what step you are having problems, we can better assist you in the setup.

Easy, turn off syncing in your iPod Preferences Photo tab.

Want to crop tunes for iPhoto slide show

I created a play list of 3 songs for wedding slide show, would like to crop out pauses and use just short snip of one, any way to do this? I cropped as directed for iTunes, but when I chose that playlist in iPhoto, the entire songs played. Any suggestions? Entire songs won't fit the photos.

You'll need to edit those mp3 files with an audio editor - Audacity is a open-source one - or GarageBand.
