Wanting to buy ipod touch need help on somethings

hi am looking to buy the i pod touch and was told that u can download from the tv on to it is this correct? how would i go about doing this? so i can transfer things i have recorded off the telly , please help am a complete novice as this will b the 1st i pod i have ever owned

Not heard of any direct tv to Touch download facility but who knows, in the future.
As of now you download everything through iTunes on your PC with the Touch connected. In addition to what iTunes offers you can import stuff from your pc eg. music, video, etc. Obviously, you'd need to get it from your tv to your PC first! Video has to be in a compatible mpeg-4 or H.264 format.
If it's not it can be converted using applications you can get off the web,
some are free, others you pay for. There's also a convert option in iTunes.
I don't pretend that this is all simple but, if you get stuck, there are many postings on here that will offer more help and advice but you'll need to look for them!

I would opt for the 32 GB one. Many users have been disappointed when they purchased the 8 GB since they quickly filled it.

Larger screen for video playback
Safari Web Browser and WiFi for web access at any WiFi hotspot/home.
Flash memory is faster
Beautiful interface
Add, edit and remove Calendar and Contacts
Add, Edit and Email Notes buy they don't sync to Mac/PC
Add 3rd party apps (from Feb 08 - cost???)
Flash Memory is much less prone to damage.
Email access in WiFi hotspots, offline composing and read of email
Google Maps and Directions (one prepared set of directions isavailable offline)
Weather and Stocks widgets
Disadvantages
No disk mode
Reduced battery life
No offline Games (until Feb anyhow)
No To Do function
Unable to view Podcast notes.
Much smaller storage
In the end it depends on your needs. Go to the shop and try the touch. If you don't get the "wow" then perhaps go for the classic this time.

IPod Touch Need Help asap...

Hi all, I just restored my iPod Touch successfully but how come
there's ONLY my iPod Touch logo under Device without the playlists
etc...And when I highlight my Touch, it just shows the iPod Touch
January Software Upgrade, not like before whereby there's settings
etc.
Please HELP me...am so worried right now...

Just dismiss the January update page and the Summary page will appear. You can then reconfigure your playlists and the January update (if you have it) will be copied across on your first sync.

So it's my understanding that Apple will replace your iPod for a fee of $100 (I have an 8GB 4th gen iPod Touch). Is there any way for me to transfer files from one iPod to another? Also, would this transfer basically make the new iPod identicaly to the other?

All of your "files" should be on your computer. You can sync them to any ipod touch you like.

tTry uninstalling and reinstalling the Apple sofware using the following.
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

thanks for letting me know. But now Apple store have an offer for Black Friday so is much more cheaper than buying in Singapore.
Now the price for 32G - $268(US)-(convert to S$353) Apple store is Singapore sell S$428 have sum different....

Hi, I've never had an iPod. I am planning to buy iPod Touch. I use Windows XP (Desktop PC) and MAC OS X Tiger (MacBook). I would like to know if is possible to use iPod with both OS or I'll have any problem every time I want to sync songs.

The easiest way to use an iPod on both Mac and Windows computers is to format the iPod (using iPod Updater) using the PC. This will force your iPod to use the Windows file system (FAT32) which both the Mac and PC can read from and write to without the help of additional software.
Of course then all your software updates for the iPod will have to be done on Windows.  
If you need to use a Mac (HFS+) formatted iPod on a Windows PC, you'll need to install some 3rd party software such as XPlay 2.0 or MacDrive (which you can get from MediaFour Software). This will enable your Windows PC to read a Mac-formatted iPod.

No one knows when or if another iPod Touch will be produced. If anyone claims to know they're lying. Besides, speculating about future or unreleased products is against this support site's terms of use.
For what it's worth the iPod Touch is amazing, and I'm sure you will enjoy many years of use. Every day that goes by waiting for a new one is a day you could have been enjoying yours.

If you iPod is defective, in warranty and not abused Apple will replace it with a refurbished one. They may or may not replace it with the white one. You will have to ask.
Other users have asked the same question but I hav never heard them come back with whether or not they go the color changed.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

You can't back up to iCloud until you update to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to back up your iPod on your computer using iTunes. Update iTunes on your computer to the latest version, then connect your iPod to your computer, open iTunes, if iTunes give you a pop-up asking if you want to update your iPod, decline. Then click on the name of your iPod in iTunes, go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer any purchased media to your iTunes library. Next, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click on Back Up Now to back up your iPod on your computer.
When it's done backing up, click on Check for Update (or Update) on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings. Allow your iPod to update, and leave it connected to your computer. At the end, it will restart and give you the option to restore to the iTunes backup you made earlier. Choose this option to restore your backup and sync your apps and other iTuens media to your phone.
