Wanting to Embed gothicCentury into our Flex based web app

First, please excuse my ignorance as I don't have a lot of expereience with Emedding fonts into a web application.
I am looking to embed a Gothic Century font into our Flex based application that will be used by our customers via web. We also my possible use it as a Air application.
If I want to do this, how do I go about it in the flex world. The font is available in our Designer's tools but we need to be able to have it accessiable in Flex legally.
Any guidance here would be very much appreciated.

It is understood that SWF and its content is intended to be rendered client-side. However, we were wondering if anyone has had any success with wrapping flash-player (such as Adobe AIR) around a SWF in such a way that the player could be called by a script server-side to generate graphs/images, which are then saved to disk and returned via a regular web service.
I gave embedding the image on the HTML page, but the specific use we are most interested in is embedding the static thematic map into a report in the Word document format. Since much of our content can already be accessed interactively using a browser and a flash-plugin, we are investigating methods of leveraging our SWFs to generate images server-side for the purposes of automated report generation.

Hi,
There's no simple way to convert an HTML AIR app to flex.
But it is possible to create HTML Root windows from a Flex
AIR App. By root window, I mean the same kind of window that is
launched when you launch an HTML AIR App.
For more info, look at the HTMLLoader.createRootWindow()
call. (This will be available from a Flex AIR app as well)

StageWebView in Flex Browser/web app instead of Air/mobile?

Just heard about stageWebView. Before I dig deeper, does stageWebView work in a Web/Browser Flex app in addition to an Air desktop/mobile apps?
I still have a need to display PDFs embedded inside my Flex web apps. None of the iFrame-based solutions out there support it. They all download the PDF doc instead of embedding it within Flex. I need to behave like the HTML component does in Air desktop apps, since it embeds PDF very nicely.
So, I just heard about Air 2.5 stageWebView and I'm wondering if it might solve this issue for me. My guess is that is only works with Air/mobile, not Flex web apps, but I thought I'd ask.

No, StageWebView is an AIR-only feature, it's not available in Flash Player.

Programmatically Embed Arbitrary SkyDrive Workbook with Excel Web App

My use case is that I would like to have a web app which allows users to load an Excel file, whose format I do not control, and have the user select a range of cells from that file to send to a web service. I would like to embed an Excel Web App in
my web app for this purpose but in order to do this I need to programmatically embed an arbitrary workbook from SkyDrive that I don't know ahead of time. This means that I can't just use the manual Javascript Embed menu option in SkyDrive which provides
the fileToken. Can I pull an Excel Web App fileToken from SkyDrive programmatically? Is this the right way to approach the problem?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no straight-forward way to accomplish what you are looking for. You will need to transfer the file into your farm before Excel Services can load/render it.

New Deployment Error when deploying Jersey-based web app to 11gR1

Since all of the Jersey jars are now in WEB-INF/lib, I am assuming this might have something to do with either missing information in the web.xml or the weblogic.xml, but not sure..
Has anyone here ever created and deployed a JAX-RS web app to weblogic? I am not sure what to try next to fix this. Thanks for any assistance.

I was able to fix this part of my deployment problem by including the Jersey jars in the WEB-INF/lib directory.
Although I have gotten further, now I have a second deployment problem that I will attempt to fix before creating a new post!

I have imported a PDF form (created in adobe acrobat XI pro) into FormsCentral. I now want to convert this document into a web form so I can embed it into my website. HOW DO I DO THIS?

I took a word document I had created and added fields to it in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. I then imported the PDF in Forms Central and now I am stuck. All I am able to do with it in FormsCentral is add a submit button. It will not allow me to edit the document in FormsCentral. What I ultimately need to do is get this converted to a web form so that I can embed it into our company website. Additionally, once it's converted, I need to add an option for the user to attach their resume with the file before submitting. I have looked all over the web and I cannot find an answer as to whether or not I can convert PDFs to web forms in FormsCentral. This will ultimately determine whether or not the company decides to purchase these programs after the trial version has ended in a few days.

I tried that first, but FormsCentral does not have the capability to create tables. The form I need to create is more advanced than what FormsCentral allows. Do you know if there is a way to create or somehow import a table when creating a web based form on FormsCentral?

Integrate payflow pro into a Flex cart system.

I was wondering if anyone had integrated payflow pro into their flex based cart system and if so, if you could point me to any examples or tutorials you used. The rest of the cart is essentially designed and I have just started on the paypal integration and haven't been able to find and examples on the HTTPS implementation specifically for actionscript.

Steps:
1 - Download payflowpro SDK from the Verisign Manager website
2 - Extract Zip file to temp location on Web server
3 - Locate the certificate file, probably in the certs directory
4 - copy this file to C:\Windows\Certs
5 - Enter the above information in web tools admin
The error you are getting is because it is missing a field on the cc gateway page in the web tools admin

youtube delivers in flash video format, .flv, which is not supported by ppt.
in the Help files of ppt, I do read swf is supported, but unfortunately, the swf I've created with VisualHub does NOT work in my version of PPT..
for Windows Systems, you get some flash-player-add-ons for PPT (first google hit..........)
so, I guess, you have to ask the experts at the PPT forum at microsoft.com ..
imho, PPT only supports .avi containers with Cinepac codec..

Amazon Android Appstore refusing Air based Droid apps

I recently submitted a few apps to the Amazon Android Appstore and am just now recieving refusal emails due to the apps looking for Adobe Air updates on the Android Marketplace. I use FlashBuilder to compile to mobile with no code added to otherwise violate the Amazon terms of service so I dont see how developers can control this problem. I have to assume that they have no idea what Flash/Flex based Android apps are comprised of and I'm hoping Adobe can have some of its leverage applied to the Amazon execs to remedy this situation in their Droid marketplace because it boxes out large numbers.
The email I recieved is as follows so you can see their stance on the submission:

Can ARD 3 be used for users who want to remote into a windows based server?

I have a couple users at the company I work at who will need to be able to remote into our Windows Server. These users all have Macs and will have to go about remoting in differently. I have done some research on Apple Remote Desktop but i am unsure if it fits my users needs. If I have someone download and install this software on a mac, will they then be able to remote into a windows based server using an IP address? that is my goal in mind could get some help on this one I'd appreciate it.

I'm referring to what windows can do via Remote Desktop connection.
You open up the RDC dialog box, enter an external IP address (if working remotely) or a server name if working internally and connect right to the machine. Ideally i want my users to be able to log into our terminal server and be able to use a program remotely. they will have to log on to this server with company credentials. Basically from a mac, connecting up to a Windows Server and remotely logging into it to perform tasks.
I'm really just trying to find an easy way to do this for my user's with MAC's since it is not as straightforward as in windows. I cannot test anything out at home since i do not own a mac so i come to the community to see if you guys have had the same kind of situation before.
ARD was the first peice of software that looked like it might fit my needs but if it doesn't is there anything out there? is it for free or for a cost? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How to embed a Youtube video into a Flex application

Youtube provides an url and a section of html div code for embedded in html. But they do not work within Flex.
I may be able to use ExternalInterface to call a HTML iFrame that embed the URL. But any better ways?
Youtube uses Flash Player. Can we access the FLV file directly? Any suggestions?

If you use Java-plugin, you can embed Java3D in a web page.

You can get user details by name using DirectoryService namespace. Then you can create a DataTable to restore the information and then bind to the SharePoint GridView.
