    thanks again

You can sync iOS apps from your compute's iTunes library to your iPod. An iPod will only run iOS apps/games. It will not run or even sync computer apps/games.

    No.
Serial numbers are Mac only or Windows only. There is a platform swap process (from Mac to PC etc) but only for CS6.
As a CS5 owner, your choices are to either pay to upgrade to CS6 for Mac or join the Cloud.

  • I'm hiring a Macbook Pro, using Aperture and want to know how to export too another Mac?

    Hi.
I'm hiring a macbook pro for the day, and will be using Aperture. I am going to be shooting  four to five projects in RAW format and would like to know the following sequences of how to save all the images and re install the images onto my own personal mac at the end of the day? So the hired laptop has none of my images on and the images processed and edited to go back on my imac at home!
How do i save the images? Whats the best using a mobile hard drive?
Do I open a new vault and save, then drag the vault over to the mobile Hard drive?
Or is there a simpler way? As i'm very new to all this backing up etc!
    Answers always appreicaited!

Hi Jettone.  As I see, you have three things (at least) to address.
How to bring your days work into your existing Aperture Library is the easiest of them.  Import your "day" Library into your current Library using "File→Import→Library/Project" and then select "Add" from the dialog box.  Full instructions -- and information you'll want to know for your project -- are on this page of the User Manual:
    Working with Library Files
The second-easiest thing you face is how to connect the two machines to make the transfer.  There are many good ways to do this (wired, wireless, ad hoc, etc.).
The only difficulty you face (other than making good captures ), is deciding how much data-security you need, and how to implement it.  If you have a spare external FW drive around, I'd take it and periodically copy the new Aperture Library (your "day" Library) to it.  Then make one final copy, and use it to transfer the day's work to your current Library before you turn in the rented laptop.
If you don't have a spare FW drive hanging around -- buy one.  Get a quad-interface with FW800 and/or eSATA.  Think of it as a thumb drive for photographers.
(Forget about Vaults.  They serve no purpose for you in this regard.)

With Mac's, there are less software and hardware choices, Apple almost demands you upgrade the operating system (paid) annually now, then inflicts all sorts of unexpected UI changes etc., and breaks your third party software/hardware.
With Windows you might have malware, but on Mac's the pain comes with constant OS X upgrades and bricking of third party software, it's like Apple has no stability.
DRM is becoming standard issue, you can't install OS X on your own via the disks, it has to be downloaded from Apple now.
OS X is turning into iOS that's all controlling, all Apps are copy protected, open source software is not allowed.
Hardware quality is mixed now, 13" and below have cheap low res glossy screens like any other $400 Walmart PC, the 15" and up high res anti-glare are very nice models.
OS X is just a paint job on hardware with Apple "oh a new OS!", it's not a stable long term operating system in the sense that Windows versions are which you can set it up, make a backup and go on nearly forever.
At least with Windows one can reinstall the OS and get updates for 10+ years, all one has to do is buy quality long lasting hardware from a huge choice of vendors.
So value wise, hardware and software choice, 3D gaming, business world, standardization etc., Windows 7 is pretty sweet now. Vista and XP of course were terrible.
Apple's OS X Lion is terrible, it's the beginning of the end, a transition to locked down iOS X on Mac's and Apple's exit from the "computing" market into something only for consumers only really based on the closed iOS concept. They are really going overboard on this, pushing the App Store in your face when you do searches and everything.
The "candy like" OS X interface gets kind of tiring, it used to be we could avoid a lot of it, but now Apple is pressing it more into one's faces.  So forget having a professional or mature look about OS X anymore.
The App Store is like something made and to appeal to children and Toy Story cartoon watchers, not appealing to mature serious people.
OS X is pretty and all, the high quality screens of Mac's make OS X look nice and attractive, but I also run Windows 7 on my Mac and it looks just as great, Windows also has a more mature looking UI.
All in all there is really no advantage to getting a Mac over a PC anymore, since with Win 7 Microsoft provides the free Security Essentials and System Restore to make disks and images to restore one's own machine themselves easy as pie.
I'm a long time Mac user, from day one, because Mac's were innovative and more secure than Windows, however Apple has tarnished that image when I found out they were not issuing security updates for older OS X versions and not fast enough for Java, (they control) which resulted in a 600,000 botnet of Mac's called Flashflake.
Sure finally Apple issued a security update for 10.5 users, but on Intel processors only, not the zillions still on PowerPC processor Mac's.
Apple is so much about change to sell hardware that they burn bridges behind them, hopefully that will change now under Tim Cook's rule, (Steve Jobs died) I suspect it will.
Apple's OS X market share has been decreasing, not because Apple isn't selling things, but rather a larger portion of it's users are now using iOS devices instead of Mac's.
Before iOS arrived, it was 10% of users on OS X/Macs, now it's 4% iOS and 6% on OS X/Macs as recorded outside of China's Great Firewall.
I guess the positive thing is, I've only got one piece of malware on my Mac's in 24 years, however I've spent about 10x more for my computers over the years than my PC using friends have because of all the Apple hardware and OS X changes draining my wallet.
For instance they changed video out from DVI to Dual DVI, to Displayport to something else and now Thunderbolt, it's just insane you can't go back into a Apple store and pickup a piece of hardware anymore or older OS X, they start pumping you to change this or that and don't tell you what's it's really going to cost in the end to upgrade everything.
I swear they want us to turn over our machines every two years now like a iPhone or something.
If your a smart PC user, you know then what hardware to buy and how to reinstall Windows yourself, I don't see why you would give up so much hardware and software choice to use a locked down, DRMed Mac that's designed for newbies and children mostly and exiting the "pro" type market more and more every year.
If you think my compaints about Apple above pale in comparison to your experience with Windows 7, then by all means get a Mac, bring a fat wallet and they will be all over you like any high end fashion or Gucci store would.

  • Hi all, i want to know that how can i install mac os on my intel based Acer laptop?

    hello all,
i have a acer laptop of intel processor,
now i want to install Mac Os on that acer laptop,
so tell me ,how can it be possible.
    regards
    zahid

But you can install any version of Windows or Linux legally on an Apple notebook.  That has to do with license agreements.   You can read all the license agreements for Apple's operating systems here:
    http://www.apple.com/legal/
    This tip explains how:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2741
It may be time to sell your Acer, and get an Apple instead.

  • How to make my Spore game run on Mac OS v10.7.2?

I got a new MacBook Pro this year(2011) and tried to install my game(Spore). When I tried to launch it, the game crashed on the splash screen(presentation).
Is there something I can do? I see a lot of people with the same problem...
    Thanks
    Víctor Suhett

Hi, saw this elsewhere on the Apple Forums, so here you go:
    What finally worked was this:
Delete All The Things - Drag the Spore program to the bin. Also delete Spore's preferences folder which is hard to find in the new OS.
    Zap the PRAM
Do a clean install - do NOT update. Click NO when ask to update!!!
    Restart, zap the PRAM.
Open the game, it will ask you to update. Let it load the first update, then quit.
    Restart, zap the PRAM.
Repeat the single update - restart - zap PRAM process until you've done all five
    Done!

  • I have both TimeCapsule and Airport, and run two mac computers in the house on the one network. The airport often can not be found, and the signal is incredibly weak unless in the same room as the modem. Previously our signal was strong and effective.

The signal has been strong and effective previously and as far as i'm aware that nothing else in the house has changed. We have two apple computers, appletv, an ipad, 2 iphones, time capsule, and airport all running off the same network. If there is product, a configuration or program we can get to help diagnose and or solve any connectivity issue that would be awesome

The  Powerline adapters mentioned by edex67 are your only hope if you cannot run an Ethernet cable.
Even if the home and office are on the same electrical circuit, you won't really know how well the Powerline adapters might work until you actually try them out at your location.
For that reason, it would be a good idea to understand the store's return policy before you buy.

  • How to know whether a material run heuristic in apo?

    Hi Expert
I want to know whethere a material run heuristic in a heuristic job. We do not need to run heuristic manually.
Just like  a material run mrp in R/3 system in mrp job. Which  master data field in  need to maintain in product in apo?
    Thank you  : )

    Dear Liting,
The First part of your question is already answered by Datta.
If you want to know the fields than there are some on which the heuristics are run.
Product master -> Lot Size Tab.
Reorder point  --If the stock comes below the given level than the Planning will triggered.
    or
    Product Master -> PP/DS tab
    Planning Procedure.
    PP planning procedure.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop download utility running on Mac 10.8 fails to show apps/install apps

After purchasing subscription, downloading and installing the Creative Cloud Desktop Version (2.0.0.183) utility, I am unable to install a single app. When on the 'App' screen a spinning circle appears. I have tried reinstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop Utility many times, spoken with chat member who suggested deleting a database file in the OOBE folder, then restarting computer—none of these have worked. I have been struggling with this for over 5 hours, trawling forums with little success. I also have older versions of Adobe software (ie CS4. CS5, CS5.5 and CS6 which I do not want to delete).
I am running a Mac system 10.8, have 50 Gb drive space available and 32 Gb of ram.
Welcome any help as I purchased software subscription I cannot use.
    Thanks

KlippyKlein it sounds like you have archived the Opm.db file located in /Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE is this correct?
If so can you also try renaming the Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE to OOBE_Old.  Once this is done please reinstall the Creative Cloud application from https://creative.adobe.com/.

  • How do I know if I can run a game?

Hi, I know a Mac isn't ideal for gaming. I dont want answers back saying im an idiot for buying a mac for gaming, because that isnt the case. I just want to know what I am compatible of running though. I know there is the Can I Run it site, but I am not sure if that is always reliable.  ALSO I WILL BE RUNNING WINDOWS 8 VIA BOOTCAMP.
So, by looking at my cpu and gpu, and looking at the requirements for a game, how do i know if i can run it? I would appreciate it if you can tell me if this example will work, but how does the average person know if it will work, by comparing the specs?
    My specs:
    MacBook Pro (Mid-2012)
    RAM: 8GB
CPU:2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz) with 6MB L3 cache
    GPU:Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB & NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB
    Here is the game:
    Batman Arkham Origins (recommended settings)
    RAM: 4GB
    CPU: Core i5-750 Quad 2.66GHz
    GPU:GeForce GTX 560
Also, if I meet the minimum requirements for the gpu, but far exceed with the cpu and ram, what does that mean?
And... If one of my graphics cards is 1024MB, does that mean I can run games that require that much memory on the gpu? Even though i know the geforce I have is better.
I am just very confused, someone please clarify, I would really appreciate it.

Once your site is published, you can tell if it is text or graphics by trying to select the text when the site is pulled up in your web browser. If you can select it, it is text. If not, it is a graphic.
See this page for a summary of the forum discussions on text to graphic issues.

  • I want to know how to delete game apps from my macbook pro also can i trust any macbook cleaners or keepers?

I want to know how to delete game apps from my macbook pro also can i trust any macbook cleaners or keepers? My mac seems to be running a bit off.

To delete any type of app you need to open the Finder window and highlight the app you want to delete by moving it to the trash. Empty the trash and it's gone. There are some Apple provided apps that cannot be deleted but you should not have any issue with the games.
As for cleaners, I personally don't use them but the 911 and Mackeeper are very popular and I hear work pretty well with Macs.

There probably is, but it requires that you be able to use punctuation and write in sentences so that we can understand exactly what you want.
You can block others from using your Apple ID by changing your password.  There is no way to erase what was already downloaded on to someone else's device, for obvious reasons,
