WAP-200 OR WAP-4410N

I have to make a decision to buy WAP-200 or WAP-4410N, the use of WAP-200 for G is good enough but i am thinking WAP-4410N have better speed and download rate i should get it for future. The devices are use to setup a wireless environment for a big warehouse. I need to know what is the advantage WAP-200 over WAP-4410N, in term of its rangeboost? but i check both datasheet WAP-4410N have whatever WAP-200 has. So should stick to WAP-200 as per my consultant recommended? Could anyone tell me what WAP-200 has that WAP-4410N do not have?? Thanking in Advance!

  • What is better than WAP 200

    HI,
I have a small business, i use to have an Access Point from another brand, I had a lot of problems using it like every time it looks like it freeze, I can see the wireless but I don’t get internet access from it, and I need to reboot it to fix this issue, this issue might happen 3 days per week or more.
I removed it and installed the WAP200 and since that time the issue has been gone, i faced it on the WAP200 few times but its ok so far my wireless is good and everything is ok,
The problem that I am facing now is the signal range, the WAP as you know has 2 antennas, and 1 send and 2nd receive,
I used an 8dbi indoor antenna to make the signal go more in range but it still didn’t reach the range I need.
My question is: is there something better then the WAP200 in range and it might have 4 antennas (2 send - 2 receive)
Or is there any other solution to cover all my office using 1 AC only?
i don’t want to go on with repeaters as my office is not that big it’s a normal apartment from 6 rooms with a corridor between them.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks for reading this

I used an 8dbi indoor antenna to make the signal go more in range but it still didn’t reach the range I need.
Good gosh.  That's a very, very strong antenna.
I'm no expert with Small Business range, but with the enterprise range, I personally won't recommend this strong antenna.  The reason is because the client can hear the strong signal from the WAP, HOWEVER, the WAP will NOT be able to hear the weak signal from the client.
My question is: is there something better then the WAP200 in range and it might have 4 antennas (2 send - 2 receive)

How big is this office?  I mean can you see your neighbor's wireless?  What are the walls made of?  What's above and below your office.  These questions matters alot.

  • Problems upgrading 1131 WAPs to 2602 WAPs

We are trying to upgrade our 1131 WAPs to the newer 2602 WAPs and with the older 1131 WAPs we used the NetGear WNCE2001 wireless controller for our old DOS PCs and they work pretty good. But now with the newer 2602 WAPs the NetGear WNCE2001 WLC device will authenticate and it looks good but when we try to get the DOS PC up and running it fails. We use 3c509 NICs in the DOS PCs.
The error mesage in our syslog is:
#DTL-4-ARP_ORPHANPKT_DETECTED: dtl_net.c:2662 STA(Target MAC Address) [e0:46:9a:2e:9e:3a, 10.68.6.131] ARP (op ARP REQUEST) received with invalid SPA(Source IP Address) 10.68.6.152/TPA(Destination IP Address) 10.68.6.152
The MAC address e0:46:9a:2e:9e:3a is the NetGear WNCE2001 WLC along with the IP address 10.68.6.131
And the IP address 10.68.6.152 is the DOS PC that is connected to the NetGear WLC.
I'm sure there are a lot of differences between the Cisco 1131 WAPs and the newer 2602 WAPs but why won't the newer 2602 WAPs pass the traffic of the device connected to the NetGear WLC?
Oh, and yes we use the Cisco 2504 WLC for these 2602 WAPs, and we have set up a SSID just for the DOS PC and we are using WPA2-PSK. On the older 1131 WAPs we were only using WEP.
    Thanks
    Steven

I'm having the exact same problem, but with 3602s.  In my case, I've set the security to none and use MAC filtering via ISE.  I can see the netgear wnce2001 authenticate with no problems and get an IP address from DHCP.  I can also see it associated to the WLC and I can ping it for about 30 seconds.  The WLAN light never comes on and eventually, the LAN light will go off and then come back on and at this point, it's no longer associated to the WLC and I can't ping it.

  • What does "PAYG WAP" etc mean when the SIM card is...

I am on Vodafone contract, but under "WAP services" (a term which itself doesn't make any sense because "WAP" is no longer used for anything AFAIK, and used to run on 9.6k GSM dial-up) I see
    Contract WAP
    PAYG WAP
    WAP APN
I can delete these but they keep coming back.
Then there is Contract Internet which is what I would expect to see; that is under the "Internet" heading.
If I start up Joikuspot, I see these
    WAP APN
    PAYG WAP
    PAYG MMS
    Contract Internet
    Contract WAP
    Contract MMS
as options for what to connect to, of which all except "Contract Internet" doesn't mean anything.

sounds a little strange, you need to ask your network carrier exactly which access point is for which function, as this is a user to user forum only for Nokia products and services.

  • WAP on iphone??

    Hi all,
I've got an iphone 1.1.2, using safari to surf with EDGE.
Safari displays html with no problems and some mobile sites fine as well,
however, when i try to get to a wap address, eg,
    wap.xxx.html,
what i get is a written script/properties of the wap page and not the page itself.
Does anyone know how i might be able to view wap pages on e iphone?
    thanks!

The main reason is, that safari can not handle content or doctype of WAP WML... and even not the extension of WML.
Next, I think, that few WAP portals are aware of an iPhone useragent...
So you will have to contact the Portal-Provider, to fix this two issues...
Or install a local proxy (is there any?) where you can mofify the above values appropriatly.

  • WAP-321, Captive Portal and Wi-FI repeaters

    Hi,
So I am currently deploying a Wi-Fi Network based around Cisco WAP-321. I use the CP function with a Radius server to authentify my users. So far so good, when a user connect to one of the AP and uses his credentials, he can login and access Internet without any trouble. But I also use some Wi-Fi repeaters (Netgear WN-1000RP) to extend the range of my wireless network in places I can't install an AP. The repeaters effectively extends the range of my network, and I can connect on them without any trouble when the CP is turned off. However, when I turn on the CP, I access the login web page and enter my credentials, but no matter what, I can't login while connected on the repeater. After some research, it looks like I have to manually enter the MAC address in the MAC trough list of the AP. Except such a feature doesn't seem to exist on the WAP-321. I have tried using WDS bridge and Workgroup bridge, but without success, since I think it's only compatible with WAP-321 and WAP-121 devices.
So I am kind of running out of ideas to make this work, and I would be very grateful if someone could help me out.
Thanks in advance, do not hesitate to ask me for more informations if needed.

My name Eric Moyers. I am an Engineer in the Small Business Support Center.
I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue.
While what I am fixing to share is not in any way a great solution, It can be utilized as a workaround.
With the WAP321, after trying a few different scenarios that didn’t work. I simply created two vlans, leave the Untagged vlan as main vlan and changed the Management vlan to the second. I then attached the guest SSID to the Management VLAN. This allowed me to authenticate to my guest captive portal and get an IP and get out to the internet. The Main SSID still worked normally.
    Now for some caveats:
Problem: If a wireless client knows the IP of the WAP and the username and password they could get into the WAP.
Solution: Setup Management Access Control to an IP outside the DHCP scope for that VLAN and have a Strong Password.
Problem: Management of the WAP321 can only be from an IP on the Management VLAN. (In my case 2)
Solution: Setup Management Access Control to an IP outside the DHCP scope for that VLAN and have a Strong Password.
Not the very best solution, but the only workaround I can come up with for now.

  • WAPs connected ports are becoming err-disabled.

    Hi All,
I'm facing a strange issue. WAPs connected ports are becomming err-disabled with an attached error message. Not only a single WAP, All the WAPs connected to the 3750 are having the same issue. I have tried to identify which WAP is sending the BPDU and that inturn causing other WAP connected ports to be down.
I have 5 WAPs in that site; if I enable any WAPs connected port below logs messages are coming and that port is becomming err-disable.

  • Diff in regulars WAPs vs. LWAPs...

What is the difference in WAPs and lightweight WAPs? I installed the 1100 (I believe 1121's) series about two years ago (relatively small deployments <15 WAPs per site) and I dont recall hearing about lightweights then. I am getting back into the field and now I hear about lightweights and WCS's (did they even have those 2 years ago)? Thank you.

    Hi Jimmy,
    The time when you installed these, 2 years ago was just when Cisco was purchasing Airespace (I think it was) which were running with the new "Lightweight" protocol. So you probably would have not seen anything. Have a look at this info to see what has changed;

  • Playbook Bridge browser

I'm an happy user of the PlayBook since 3 weeks but since the begining, the Bridge Browser is not available.  The bridge is working well but the Bridge Browser is not visible.  I've a BES activated on my Blackberry 9800 (Torch).  I'm convinced that this is probably a setting issue on my mobile (Torch) but i'm unable to fix it.  It already tried to resend the service books, to wipe the mobile+tablet.  I also tried with the BIS (after the wipe) without restoring the settings.  I tried a lot of things, but the icon is not visible.  Do you know if it can be solved easily?

  • Linksys WAP200 DHCP issues (acces point)

    Hello,
during installation of Linksys WAP200 we noticed the following two issues:
    a) The main problem consist of that AP (wifi access point) do not process DHCP request. Any DHCP request is not received when we had to used only one SSID and AP is in VLAN1 (the same problem is registered if are allowed VLANs to AP). Additionaly were created additional SSID - all is working properly.
    b) The second and more important problem if is required to make restart of AP or due to outage of electricity, again is not allowed to receive IP address from AP. When is second SSID deleted and again reconfigured is whole communication and functionality restored.
    Technical specification of AP:
    Model: Linksys WAP 200
    Firmware: 1.0.22-ETSI
    SN: MO200J500700, MO200J300921, MO200J300922, MO200J300923,MO200J300924, MO200J300925, MO200J300926, MO200J300927, MO200J300928
These enclosed network devices are used in LAN topology:
    RV082-EU, Linksys 10/100 8-Port VPN Router SRW224G4P-EU,
    Linksys SRW224G4P 24-port 10/100+4Port Gigabit Switch, PoE
    SRW248G4P-EU, Linksys SRW248G4P 48-Port 10/100+4-Port Gigabit Switch, Po
Do you have any idea where should by problem or we have to wait on new firmware ? :(
    Thanks for help and suggest.
    Pavol

    Hi Pavol,
As with the SRW series switches, the default VLAN (vlan1) is untagged.
VLAN2, VLAN3 and VLAN4 will  obviouslybe  tagged, so the WAP200 supports trunked VLANs.
I have been using WAP200's for both bridging in some applications and just in AP mode for other applications for a number of years, in conjunction with my SRW2008P switch.
But I have seen issues, where after a software upgrade.   I had to reset the AP back to factory defaults and create the configuration again.
    Firstly reset the WAP200 back to factory defaults and it still fails, I would suggest you call the wonderful folks at the Small Business Support Center (SBSC) in your country via the following URL;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html
I must admit I am using the US software 1.0.22 and not the European software :D but it may just be a configuration issue you may have.
I did see software version firmware_wap200v1.0.22.2-ETSI for European countries, i am not sure if that is the software you are using.
    regards David

  • WAP200 Cannot access

First: I am no communications expert!
I am using a Netgear Wireless-N Dual Band USB on my windows 7 ultimate PC, Cisco WAP200, Netgear N600 ADSL2+ modem router. All is well except for the WAP200.
I just installed it and updated the firmware (Using WAP200-FW-2.0.4.0-K9.img). I needed to change the security key for the N600 and needed to update the WAP200 key. I have also tried to access the WAP 200 using three diffetent PC's. XP, Vista, Windows 7. My linux Laptop has a hardware problem and is not working so I coulden't try that way.
No matter what I do, I cannot access it using 192.168.1.245. I did a factory reset and the WEP shows up as ciscosb unsecured. I believe this is normal.
I have tried access using wireless, Pc network LAN card, and the LAN connection from the N600.
I have tried every suggestion I have found across the net without sucess. Not being an expert... I did notice while using inssider and other utilities, that the WAP200 mac address is listed different than what is printed on the label. The mac shown is the same except for the last two characters. Utilities show :88 when the label shows :8C..... ???? Is this possible?
    I'm lost!

    Hello Wilgert,
The MAC-address on the label correspond with the Etherport (when you connect a cable of the AP).
The 2nd MAC-address, which you saw in Inssider, is related to the wireless radio in the AP itself.
You can find the 2nd MAC-Address under the "AP Mode"-Tab.
This address is used when you configure a repeater and AP's for example.
It seems the radio is still working fine and is reachable.
Regarding your issue with the connection, when you tried to connect to the AP by cable,
did you take care that you were in the same subnet with your PC's/Laptop's as the reset WAP (192.168.1.0/24) ?
When you tried to access it, like 192.168.1.200 as ip-address and 255.255.255.0 as subnet mask, did you try to ping the WAP200?
Was the ping working? but you just couldnt connect to the web interface of the WAP?
When the ping to the device works but you cannot acces the web interface,
I assume the web server of the device got damaged during the firmware upgrade.
If you cannot ping the device either, more troublehsooting is needed.
    Regards,
    Daniel

  • Got 3G coverage yet not connecting to web

My Iphone 4 has stopped connecting to the internet but I have got 3G coverage. The loading cirle moves as normal yet the page doesn't load and a message comes up ; cannot open page - safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet.
I have went through all the setting i.e full reset on my phone with no joy.
Is it because I have not updated my software since I got the phone a month ago for it's still got versio 4.3.3.?

    1) If you have updated OVI Maps application to v3.06 this uses a different set of maps to those preinstalled on mass memory for v3.04. You may need to delete E:\CITIES + .qf file usually at bottom of list if using File Manager in Office folder, re-start OVI Maps application to re-initialise and re-define necessary folder structure to download more maps with OVI Suite > Maps on PC
    3) and 4) probably related as settings sent by Tesco and saved by you end up in wrong destination (Uncategorised). Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Settings > Destinations > Uncategorised - you'll probably find Tesco WAP, Tesco WAP GPRS and Tesco MMS here. If you longpress on any access point a new screen with more choices pops up, for Tesco WAP and Tesco WAP GPRS choose Internet destination. Now go to Internet destnations and probably need your WLAN as Priority 1 and Tesco WAP GPRS as Priority 2 for starters. For this highlight access point > longpress >choose "Change priority" and then highlight say access point in Priority 1 > OK and it jumps up the list.
When you open web browser click "Options > General > Access point > change to "Ask when needed" and next time you can change it to say "Internet" where home WLAN is Priority 1.
Post again when you are a bit more familiar with this as probably then have more questions.

  • How to get my Settings- Phone options back without a restore

Ok folks here's the rub. I am a certified tech for both CPU and iOS, yet this one has me scratching my head.
Equipment: iPhone 3G with firmware 4.2.1 (not going to 4.3.3)
Windows XP SP3, witha crappy processor but 8GB of RAM
Yes it is Jailbroken with Redsn0w so restoring and re-jacking it is just not gonna happen. I don't even wat to think of the man hours.
The major issue was I was messing around with my official iPhone Browser Utility, because I couldn't get my iPhone Configuration Utility to instal the new APN on my phone because I have a Go Phone SIM in the phone and for 9 months it worked just fine and I could get my 3G and move happily on my way. I believe my upgrade to 3.1.3 and the baseband with it caused it to be recognized by the server as such and ::poof:: my 3G was gone and so is my ability to but a prfile in the phone even though even when I could use my APN editor and made it with the wap.cingular and [email protected]. password CIGULAR1 it wouldn't bring back my data, time to probably switch to T-Mobile, but I digress. And if Anyone has any idea on getting my 3G back which I rarely use and no smart remarks about getting regular AT&T account b/c I don't use phone enough to think about paying for that much non-usage, I'd appreciate it.
But when I was messing with the internals and backed up and deleted the files having to do with mobile data and mobile usage .plists. Then I discovered that BLAM, if I go to Settings>Phone it just gives me an error: There was an error loading the preference bundle for Phone. It has the same bloody .plist it had before. I've hard reset it, I've soft reset it, I even restored from a previously known good backup I specifically made. It didn't kill my Jailbreak thank God. But someone out there has got to know I can either use iFile or the iPhone Browser Utility to fixe this. Please Help.
Try [email protected] comments about me jailbreaking it and getting what I deserve will result in me packet sniffing your location and well...just don't do it. I already know my curiosity and desire to get my 3G service back has hosed me. Thanks.
    -Dave

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
use your backup copy to put everythng back.

      Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.
Then when tried to preview an IView (sap transaction type) with the system created above it asked username :passowrd but then gave the following error:
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
Application URL ':///webgui/!' is not valid! Please check the protocol and host entries for system 'ERP3'..
I have set the TCODE for iview to be SE16 with WEBGUI type.
Plz tell me what could be the cause for this and how toresolve this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ankur

  • WEB AS connection failed

    Hi,
i have logon method in User management as SAPLOGON (since we have same userids in Portal as well as in BW systems) and issued the necessary parameters for WEB AS connection as :
    WAS Description BW Development
    WAS Host Name IP address:8000
    WAS Path /sap/bw/bex
    WAS Protocol http
Also gave the all necessary values in connector property.
Now if i go to Display - > Connection Test and select the following :
    SAP Web AS Connection
    Connection Test for Connectors
it is giving the following result:

Even though we dont want to do user mapping (we have similar userids in both ends as mentioned early), i went ahead and did that also, but still WEB AS is failing with above mentioned error.
Is there any specific patch level need to be there for BASIS or J2EE etc... we have BW 3.5(web as 640- ABAP System), EP 6.0 Patch 9.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
I have had this problem before . Even though you still got a failure while the connection test , actually whrn you use the system object it works .Pls chaeck all the your parameter are right before you use this object .
    Thanks
