WAP200 looses wifi connectivity in irregular intervals

We currently have ~15 WAP200 accesspoints distributed over 4 buildings. Random devices seem to go unresponsive at irregular intervals (web interface still works, clients see a signal, but cannot connect). Rebooting the device solves the problem. User authtication is solved via a radius backend (freeradius), although I highly doubt this is causing the problem since the radius server does not recieve any requests from "broken" accesspoints.
Configuration is WPA2 - Enterprise, only 1 SSID, Power is via PoE
Unfortunately it isn't possible to reliably reproduce the problem. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I have only one WAP200E (with PoE) and it pressents the same issue. I have it configured with open security, 1 SSID, I mean with the simpliest configuration and it still looses wifi connectivity. It presents the same sintoms:
web interface still works, clients see a signal, but cannot connect
I even updated FW from 1.2 to 2.0.0.27.
Attached is the actual config

  • HT4628 iMac looses wifi connection

My iMac (OS 10.8.5) looses wifi connection every once in a while. I go to Network Diagnostics, press all those Continue buttons, at some point it sais "Your Internet connection appears to be working correctly" and the Internet connection is being restored right at this moment. It can happen 2 or 3 times a day or may not happen for weeks. I have seen this with three different routers, moreover, I had this problem in a different place with a different iMac (OS 10.6 again with different routers). Its annoing. May be there is some simple thing I just don't know? Thank you.

Perfect it has been working fine ever since you posted the update 3 months ago.  UNTIL to day i am having the same problem my imac randomly disconnected from the internet while i was watching youtube.  when i went to the wifi icon in the top bar it searched and nothing! logging in/out doesnt help the only fix is to restart any advice?

  • Imac keeps loosing WIFI connection

    Hi all,
I loose wifi connection most of the time (but not all the time) at around 18:00 pm !?!, very strange !
I have no neighbors and no houses close enough to interfere with my wifi.
After loosing connection I do: Syst. Pref - Network - unblock modification with password - Help me - Diagnosis then choose my wifi
and it starts working again for 3 minutes.
Then I loose connection again and have to go through all the previous steps.  After 4 or 5 times it's all ok.
What gives ? Can anyone help me please ? Any suggestions ?
I have to use wifi because my ethernet port and firewire ports both stopped working and Apple says I have to take the machine for repair.
    Thanks for any help.
    OSX 10.9.4

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 2
Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. If you find that Wi-Fi works better with Bluetooth disabled, you should use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Your router may not support it; in that case, you need a new router.
    Step 4
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
    Step 5
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 6
    Reset the PRAM.
    Step 7
Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    Step 8
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

  • Does anyone else have an issue with the iPad loosing wifi connectivity?

My 6 month old 64 gig iPad keeps loosing WiFi connectivity.  This is a problem since I need it for work to test live video streams.  I keep having to back out and reconnect from the systems panel.  This happens when I shift posting even an inch while sitting down or moving from room to room at home.  I have strong connectivity both at home and at work.  There isn't an issue on any of my other devices and a co worker of mine has the same exact iPad, and he is having the exact same problem.  Is there a fix?

Go to Settings>General>Reset then select "Reset Network Settings". the device will shut down and reboot. while that is rebooting, unplug the router, count to 10 plug it back in. wait for the network to appear in wifi accounts, and you're good as gold.
but make sure you know your wifi password or you wont be able to access it.

  • 7510 e printer looses wifi connection after each print job;

7510 e printer looses the wifi connection after each print job; only switching wifi off and back on at the printer touch screen makes it reconnect. Tried more or less everything, including downloading updated software for the printer. Wifi router (unfortunately) is provided by internet provider. WPA2.

It sounds like the printer may have an unstable wireless connection.
What brand and model is the router?
Have you tried setting a static IP address?  I recommend setting a static IP address as it can resolve a lot of networking issues with printers in general.
The steps to do this are located in step 6 of this document from HP.

  • TS1398 I updated by ipad to ios 6 today and when I connect to my home network, it brings up the apple page with Log In on the top bar then my ipad looses WIFI connection. How do I resolve this?

I installed IOS 6 today. it cannot connect to my apple account. It keeps loosing the WIFI connection. EVerytime I connect to WIFI, it loads the apple webpage and looses the connection again. How do I resolve this?

This seems to be the best working option (while not 100% success):
    From Demo:
    Try this.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Yes! I just ordered a Wireless USB adapter to try.
We have 33000 sq ft home and in upstairs master is where
It goes to G4 when we try to connect to website.
I'm thinking this might work. We have the wireless router

We will try putting the router on 2nd floor and see if that helps
    After we get the adapter.

  • Apple TV looses wifi connectivity unexpectedly

I bought Apple TV in March 2012. It's conneced to a secured wifi. It looses connectivity unexpectedly. I tried almost everything found on internet to fix it, but no luck. I have to restart the device to get it back or wait until it catches the wifi signal back agian. It's very annoying to do it every 20-30 minutes. I never expeced such things from Apple products.
Help me and prove me wrong.
    Thank you

    could be a range issue
could be a compatability issue in which case updating the firmware of the wifi router
could be the internal antenna of the appletv which is 1/2 broken and lose connection once in awhile

  • Computer looses wifi connection followed be error message.

    Computer looses connection.
I have a MacBokk Pro and both iPad and iPod 3rd Generation on the same network.
The following comes up every so often:
"Another device on the network is using your computer’s IP address (10.0.0.4).
Try connecting again later. If you continue to have problems, change the IP address of this computer or the IP address of the other device. Contact the network administrator if you need more information."
How do I fix this ?
    Regards
    best4x4xfar

The problem isn't solved after all.
    it just did it again.
This started recently, I had the network setup for ages.
I recently added the iPad to the network.
It's only the MacBook Pro that looses connection to the WIFI. Both iPad and iPod are still capable of browsing the internet, etc.

  • Macbook Pro 10.10.2 keeps loosing wifi connection.

How do I fix my connection issues with my wifi.  It disconnects numerous times daily.  I turn off wifi and then back on to try to reconnect...it doesn't even find my network until I turn wifi off and on about 4 or 5 times and eventually my network will pop up and sometimes it doesn't so I am forced to reboot.  I have 2 PCs, 3 ipads and 3 iphones on the network with no issues.  I have also noticed the internet speeds on the mac are horribly slow.  Any suggestions?

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
Be sure to test on more than one Wi-Fi network, if at all possible. A desktop computer can be tested with a mobile hotspot, such as the hotspot created by a cell phone. If the problem only exists on one network, then the access point of that network should be the focus of your attention, not the computer.
    Step 4
Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences and unlock the settings, if necessary. Select the Power Adapter  tab, if there is one. Uncheck the box marked
              Wake for Wi-Fi network access
    if it's checked.
    Step 5
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
    Step 6
    In the Wi-Fi settings, select
              Advanced... ▹ TCP/IP ▹ Configure IPv6: Link-local only
    Click OK and then Apply.
    Step 7
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 8
    Reset the PRAM.
    Step 9
Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. You'll be prompted for the password when you reconnect. Save it in the keychain.
    Step 10
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you also have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.
