WAP321 active clients per cluster

Dear Support,
Please give me deatiled information about the "active clients per cluster" parameter of a WAP321 AP.
Datasheet says  active clients per cluster = 80, but i find a presentation where this number is 160 (attached). ???
Another question is, What if i have only 5 WAP321 (not the maximum 8pcs) in my cluster?
How much clients can connect to the cluster at the same time? (20 pcs/AP and 50/cluster or 20 pcs/AP and 80/cluster?)
Other qestion: The information exchange between APs  on the same cluster happens wired or wirelessly?
(for examlpe automatic channel selection, or when i config a parameter one of the AP, then this is updated on all the other APs)
Best regards,

Hello Sir, Thank you for commenting back. If you would look at the Datasheet again it does confirm what I mentioned here. There are two section: performance mainly deals with the Access Point by itself, Up to 32 connective and 20 recommended. The 80 that you refer to is from the Multi-Access point section from when you have this access point set in a cluster.
Performance
Wireless throughput
Data rate =300 Mbps; actual client throughput will vary.
Recommended user support
Up to 32 connective users, 20 active users
Configuration
Web user interface
Built-in web user interface for easy browser-based configuration (HTTP/HTTPS)
Multi-Access Point Management
Single Point Setup
Yes
Maximum access points per cluster
8
Active clients per cluster
80
As to the the RV router family, if you would like to tell me which problems exactly you are referring to I would be happy to try and address them for you.

  • Active-Passive Failover cluster in Windows Server 2008 R2

    Hi,
As per the client requirements, I build an active-passive Oracle 11g R2 database cluster in Windows Server 2008 R2.
(Used Microsoft cluster as Client don't have Fail Safe licence)
As per the configuration, I follow the below mentioned steps:
a)OS vendor configured Active-Passive Windows Cluster
b)Installed Oracle 11g R2 on both the nodes with same ORACLE_HOME name
c)Create Listener and configured it with cluster IP in Node1
d)Create Database from Node1. Physical files location are all in Storage
e)Create Oracle Service with the same name in the 2nd node and copy all the files like spfile,tnsnames.ora,listener.ora,password file to Node2
f)Configure Listener with the same Oracle SID.
g)Test database failover from Node2 with Listener registration
h)Open the Windows Failover Manager to configure the Oracle Database and Listener Service in the Cluster Group
Now I am facing problem by moving Cluster Group movement. Whenever trying to moving the group, Listerner service is not getting up by Cluster Manager as quorum is not included in the group and that quorum disk is not moving in the failover node with the Oracle Cluster Group. As per my understanding Quorum having information of Cluster IP which has been configured with Listener.
But when I am shutdown one node, then in the other node all the resources successfully moving and cluster able to online all the resources. I guess at that time Quorum is also moving and thus cluster can able to make Listener online.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue. Means how can I make Listener up instead having any dependencies with Quorum in the fail over node?
Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Voice clients per AP

    Hi Experts,
    I would like to know how many voice clients can be supported in a Cisco 3700 AP?  I have seen a document (Document ID:8103);
    Q. How many wireless IP telephony handsets are recommended per AP?
    A. IP telephony network sizing is essential to ensure that adequate bandwidth and resources are available to carry mission-critical voice traffic. In addition to the usual IP telephony design guidelines for sizing components, such as PSTN gateway ports, transcoders, WAN bandwidth, and so forth, also consider these 802.11b issues when sizing your wireless IP telephony network:
Number of 802.11b devices per AP: Cisco recommends that you have no more than 15 to 25
The number of 802.11b phones you can deploy per Layer-2 subnet or VLAN depends on these factors:
Use no more than seven G.711 or eight G.729 active calls per AP.
On 7925G IP phones, I have read in an article not to use WPA2/PSK encryption.  Is this still true?

    No, it is not true.
I think this is the document you referring where Cisco recoomends WPA2/802.1X over PSK, but still you can use WPA2/PSK with 7925G

    Hello cpreasbeck,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.
I was able to find the following transition guide for Xserve that provides some workload guidance to determine performance when planning a server deployment.
    Transition Guide Xserve
    http://images.apple.com/xserve/pdf/L422277A_Xserve_Guide.pdf
On page 9, Performance there is a chart that provides maximum numbers of connected users for various activities such as file sharing, mail, web, calendar, directory services and Time Machine and the CPU used as a server (Xserve, Mac Pro, Mac Mini). This information is a bit dated as the referenced software is Snow Leopard Server (OS X 10.6), and the hardware is older also, but it should give you a general idea of what you might need to look for.

  • How do I Limit the number of Clients Per AP, Per Radio

    I'm have WCS, 2 - WLC4404, 1 - WLC4402 and 1 WISM (6509). All running 7.X OS.
Here is my problem I have 4 3502 AP,s in the hall, but the laptops all connect to one AP. 2 Clients on A and 26 Clients on G.
    How do I control this?
    Mike

If you want to limit the number of clients PER AP then this is a feature that has been identified and will be available in the next few version.
You can, however, limit the number of clients and default is set to 12.

  • Activity Price per TON

    Hi,
Is it possible to maintain the activity price perio TON instead of machine hours or Labour hours or Set up.
if it is possible, kindly adivce me how to Maintain Activity type per TON.
    Thanks
    Sunitha

    Hi, Sunitha,
Of course you can use any unit of measure, and you can use your-self defined unit of measure for the activity measure. e.g. some transportation department use the Kilometre for its activity type.
Usually the activity type is by time is due to the time is reasonable for labor or machine's cost allocation. Each activity type price is independent to products, so the more time processed to a product, the more cost should be charged to the product. And the time is easy for collection both for plan or actual.

  • Monitoring client 000 instead of active client

Issue: Ideally, we would like to monitor the active client but are not given SAP_ALL / SAP_NEW. Hence we end up monitoring client 000 where we get full auth. But does this gives all the info reqd for monitoring and administration?
    1. With Solution Manager as the monitoring system, is it ok if we monitor client 000 of the target systems instead of the active client?
We intend to perform BASIS tasks (Perodic tasks such as servers (SM51), processes (SM50), database (DBxx), O/S (ST06), Dumps (ST22), bkg jobs (SM37) and so on)
    2. Is there any documentation that shows the difference between monitoring client 000 and the active client.
Please note, we intend to configure BPM in the future, and hence we understand that the active client needs to be monitored.
    3. In case we intend to monitor the active client, where can we get the list of auths (roles/profiles) reqd to perform the the above BASIS tasks
It would be great if we could get info on other ways to address this issue.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi.
I will try to shed some light on your questions.
1 For monitoring purposes client 000 is well suited. There are only a handful of activities that must be performed in the specific client. Example, create background job, start client copy, (look at transactional data). Reading background job logs is client independent (consider to put in the client in the name when you operate mulitple clients).
2 I cannot recall any official document stating difference. There are some information on help.sap.com defining the usage of client 000 and 001.
3 This is as hard to answer as it is to say how long a rope is. It really depends on what activities that is going to take place in the active client. simplest way is to list transactions/tasks that basis needs to perform and create the correct authorization from.

  • Active passive UTM cluster

    Hi all,
I got myself a nice problem
I have two ESXi 5.5 host, each server runs a guest Sophos UTM9, these are used as gateway/firewall in active/passive mode. Each server has one physical NIC for this LAN traffic. Connected on a dvSwitch.
They active/passive is working fine, when one goes down the other takes over and vice versa. But, I noticed that one of my ESXi servers had some problems. It has DNS issues and couldn't ping the Gateway. I did check all settings and all turns out to be fine. Strange thing was that after a reboot I can ping the gateway for a minute or two and after these minutes the gateway becomes unavailable on one ESXi server. On the other ESXi server there are no problems and the gateway is responding. Checking for differences between the two ESXi server gave no result, checking the UTM gateway and again nothing to detect.
Then it struck me , after the reboot the second (passive) UTM Gateway comes online in 1 or 2 minutes and on that moment problems start. The problems are on the ESXi server with the passive UTM.
I suspect that the ESXi servers sees the (passive) UTM gateway on the servers internal network card and instead of sending the traffic over the switch to the ESXi server with the active UTM it keeps the traffic local resulting in PING and DNS failures.
It seems to me that this is a active/passive problem and I have to tell the ESXi host with the passive gateway to forward the traffic to the other server, for incoming and outgoing traffic. I been thinking of LACP configuration, getting the dvSwitch ports of the two physical server seen as one. But, untill now I'm not getting the desired result. Can anyone help me on getting this active/passive gateway cluster working?

    Hi,
You talk about windows cluster, is this the correct structure that you want.
If you are looking to a Oracle Database active - passive structure. Lets say Oracle Dataguard than the primary database is operational on server 1 and de standby is in recover mode (passive) on server 2. For more info on Dataguard "http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25608/toc.htm"

  • Cisco 1230 max clients per AP & solutions?

    Hi all
We have approx 15 APs located around site. We have introduced 40+ notebooks recently and noticed slow access with our wireless network.
I understand the recommend amount is roughly 10-20 clients per access point. The less clients connected the better performance per user.
My question is can I change the max associations for each AP to 10 or 20, introduce a few more new AP's and would this mean the client notebook would keep trying until it reaches an AP that will accept associations ? Is this the recommended solution ?
    Thanks

    Hi Jon
    Greetings!
what type ur application ur using in you clients(Laptops).my experiance i am using 25 Laptops per AP .ITS working fine for internet browing.but it doesn'tsupport for Applications like Browser based.i suggest you to put a WLAN Controller and automatic load balancing .it wil solve your problem

I will try your method too, to just add ipv6 nd managed-config-flag in my previous config.
But i am still confused which configuratrion is better and which technique to use ??
My previous config was stateless , is my new config is stateful ??

  • DATA GUARD IN ACTIVE PASSIVE OS CLUSTER WINDOWS

    Hello Gurus
I am setting up data guard in sap on windows with active passive OS clustering.
    Please clear below 3 confusions.
1)I have same database name and sid of standby database as primary. Now to have different service i am just using it in setting parameters and tns_alias like
Listener file for primary and standby same as sid same
    SID_LIST_LISTENER=
    (SID_LIST=
    (SID_DESC=
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME=PROD)
    (ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/product/11.2.0)
    (SID_NAME=PROD)
tNSNAMES adding entry on primary as
    PROD2
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS_LIST=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=dev-db2)
    (port=1521)
    (connect_data=
    (service_name=prod2
    server=dedicated)))
tnsnames added entry on standby of primary
    PROD
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS_LIST=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=dev-db2)
    (port=1521)
    (connect_data=
    (service_name=prod
    server=dedicated)))
---->in parameter i am using service for standby as
    alter system set log_archive_dest_2='service=PROD2 async valid_for=(online_logfile,primary_role) db_unique_name=prod2;
**But i have am not creating any service as such. Will THIS WORK and alright.
as i am having confusion that my SID is same so how service be differentiated.am i doing right way.
2)as my primary database having 2 node in OS cluster so like node1 having ip 192.68.2.22  node 2 ip  192.68.2.23..They are in active passive clusten.the datafiles and other oracle files can be shifted to any node as per requirement. So they are using a virtual ip 192.68.2.20.. Now i need to create standby for this primary....standby ip is 192.68.2.40
So in tnsnames i am giving all ips  the virtual ip 192.68.2.20 and host ips of both nodes on standby tnsnames and on primary adding entry of standby ip 192.68.2.40.Means i am doing entries of virtual ip and host of node1 and node2.
So i am able to ping the virtual ip from standby but not able to ping 192.68.2.22 and 192.68.2.23.
So is it fine .Would i be able to create standby database as only virtual will be needed or i am going on wrong path.
3)Can i just create the standby database by using duplicate command without taking backup in 11g.(means without physical copy of data files etc from primary to standby)
    likewise
On the primary server, connect to Primary database(ORCL) as target and standby database(ORCL_DTGD) as auxiliary.
    $ rman target sys/sys@ORCL auxiliary sys/sys@ORCL_DTGD
RMAN>DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE FOR STANDBY FROM ACTIVE DATABASE DORECOVER
    SPFILE SET DB_UNIQUE_NAME='ORCL_DTGD' SET LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2='service=ORCL LGWR SYNC REGISTER VALID_FOR=(online_logfile,primary_role)' Set STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT='AUTO' SET FAL_SERVER='ORCL' SET FAL_CLIENT='ORCL_DTGD' SET CONTROL_FILES='/data/oracle/app/oracle/oradata/ORCL/control01.ctl’,'/data/oracle/app/oracle/fast_recovery_area/ORCL/control02.ctl’ NOFILENAMECHECK;
    after configuring tns,listener etc
    Regards
thanks for ur time..please reply as i am really looking for ur great ideas and need them.

    For Question 1:
The SERVICE attribute, which is a mandatory attribute for a redo transport
destination, must be the first attribute specified in the attribute list. The SERVICE
attribute is used to specify the Oracle Net service name used to connect to the redo
transport destination. The service name must be resolvable through an Oracle Net
naming method to an Oracle Net connect descriptor that matches the Oracle Net
listener(s) at the redo transport destination.

I would DNS if possible. If you cannot see IP's you can add them the the HOSTs file on most OS's as a work around.
Not sure what you are trying to do exactly.

    Yes.

  • GTS Activation : Client Wise

Landscape  : 1 ECC System (Multiple Clients(10,20,30 and each client corresponds to each business process)
Knowing the fact that Client wise business handling is not recommended.
Case : GTS checks are applicable for Only client 20. Is it possible to restrict the GTS activities for a particular Client.
The document types and and application level configs can be done client wise. What about the GTS BADI activation and other transfer Document activation.
Is there any built in Functionality for client handling or is there any work around.

    Hi Devanand,
My Mistake, if I didn't made it more clearer and simpler.
Basically, what I told is that while making connection between GTS system and Feeder system (client 20 in this case), there is something known as mapping in both the system which is also  further segregated by Logical systems at both the ends. First understand a scenario where a GTS solution and feeder solution are both located on the same physical system but with different clients. In that ase, these clients acts as the distinguishing factor while connecting both system and nothing happens as per your concern. Even If, there is such a scope, why not you remove the mapping at Feeder system end for non required systems and make the response to  follow on with document processing if GTS system  is not found or even if there is a GTS block. In this case, there will be no effect of GTS processing on other clients for which there is no mapping and  for which ,response settings are done.

  • Deployments are in Active state on Cluster but in Prepared state on server

    Hi,
We initially deployed our application (Oracle Identity Manager 11gR2) on standalone managed server and then convert it into cluster using wlst commands.
    readDomain('/app/oracle/Middleware_OAM/user_projects/domains/oim_domain')
    setDistDestType('JRFWSAsyncJmsModule', 'UDD')
    setDistDestType('OIMJMSModule', 'UDD')
    create('oim_cluster','Cluster')
    assign('Server','oim_server1','Cluster','oim_cluster')
    updateDomain()
The cluster is created fine and we can start the application successfully and access it. However the problem is that all the deployments are in 'Active' state only under Cluster but in prepared state under the server oim_server1 (though application access working on managed server port). Please advise where we are missing and what could be the wrong?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    1. What if you are trying to access the application page, does it come up ?
    2. Use the below wlst command to get the actual state of the deployed application:
The deploy command returns a WLSTProgress object that you can access to check the status of the command. The WLSTProgress object is captured in a user-defined variable, in this case, progress.
    wls:/mydomain/serverConfig/Servers> progress= deploy(appName='businessApp',path='c:/myapps/business',createplan='true')
The previous example stores the WLSTProgress object returned in a user-defined variable, in this case, progress. You can then use the progress variable to print the status of the deploy command. For example:
    wls:/mydomain/serverConfig/Servers> progress.printStatus()
    Current Status of your Deployment:
    Deployment command type: deploy
    Deployment State       : completed
    Deployment Message     : null
    wls:/mydomain/serverConfig/Servers>
    3. Restart all the servers, instances, related DB and check if it helps.
    Thanks,
    Sharmela
