WAP371 clients constantly disconnecting/reconnecting

I have a new WAP371 with firmware 1.1.2.3. It's installed on an interior wall on the second floor of my three-floor house. It receives power over Ethernet from an SG200-08P switch. Each radio has a separate SSID. WPA-Personal is used on both. All traffic is in untagged VLAN 1.
Clients are will not stay connected for longer than a minute or two. The log shows an association, then after usually one or two minutes, the log shows a deauth with the message "Disassociated due to inactivity." Then the very next item in the log is another association from the client. This will persist for a minute or two, and then the cycle repeats, continually and forever. This happens even when there is activity, so "Disassociated due to inactivity" seems wrong.
Following various bits of advice here, I've tried:
various fixed frequencies
all bandwidth options
short guard interval yes and no
protection auto and off
frame burst on and off
fixed multicast rate auto and 54
removed 1 and 2 from legacy rate sets on the 2.4 GHz radio
set broadcast key refresh rate to 0
disabled TSPEC, scheduler, bandwidth utilization, client QoS, Green Ethernet
I'm at a loss to figure out how to fix this. It causes activity on the clients to sputter -- I'm seeing a fair number of retransmissions. Occasionally application connections, like streaming video, will reset. Help please?

  • Windows 8.1 New PC USB constantly disconnects reconnect when the pc goes to sleep?

Everything has been working like a charm on my new PC build. The only thing I have been having issues with is more of an annoyance. PC goes to sleep then pc makes the usb disconnecting/reconnecting noise. I cant find out how to stop the noise from happening.
All my usb devices work fine once the pc comes back up. I tried to disconnect one device at a time and it does it with all the usb connections no matter what is connected. Any help?

    Hi,
This issue might be because when suspended, some devices stop charging while plugged into the computer, they might disconnect and then reconnect repeatedly or stop working altogether.
Please follow this article to resolve it:

  • AnyConnect clients randomly disconnect, reconnect

    Hello,
We have been using our current configuration for some time, but recently most of the AnyConnect clients randomly loose connection, then reconnect. I have had the ISP and SonicWall look to see if they find any issue, but they do not. I have checked the event viewer on one XP machine and find numerous log entries regarding connection timeouts, etc. I have listed some below. A search of this comunity resulted in only one response that was incomplete.

I experienced the same problem with my Lumia 800 and the MyWay audio/navi/BT telephone system in my previous and current Citroën C5 (both latest model (PhIII)): http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-with-Windows-Phone/Bluetooth-and-3G/td-p/1288591 .
I first thought it had something to do with switching from G to 3G and back. But in the end I discovered that BT on the Lumia 800 just disabled itself, while connected to my cars BT system. I have started the procedure to send my Lumia tot Nokia Care. Keep You informed.

  • Magic mouse constantly disconnects and can't get it to connect without rebooting the computer.  Anyone else have this issue

How do you solve the problem of the magic mouse constantly disconnecting?  I have changed the batteries and turn it on and off, but the only way to get it to reconnect seems to be re-starting the computer.  Any thoughts?  Thank you.

    Greetings Beth,
Wireless devices are susceptible to interference.  Review this article for common sources: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3048#5
They are also very sensitive to low power.  Make sure you are using VERY fresh batteries.  If they have been sitting on a shelf for months they don't count as fresh IMO.
Troubleshooting steps to try after you read that article at the top:
Remove the following to the trash: Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
Restart the computer and re-pair the mouse and keyboard
If issue persists reset the SMC:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If the issue persists reset the PRAM:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    Hope that helps!

  • Constant home wifi disconnect/reconnect with GS3 and GS4

I've been having terrible trouble with my previous Galaxy S3 and my new Galaxy S4 on my home wifi network.  They CONSTANTLY disconnect and reconnect.  Sometimes it can happen 2 or 3 times in 1 minute, and sometimes it won't happen for 5 or 6 minutes, but then it will happen and it will happen 2 or 3 times in rapid succession.  This is really irritating when I'm viewing a web page and it has to reload EVERY time the disconnect/reconnect happens.
What can I do to keep my GS4 from doing this?
I have the Verizon GT704WGB DSL modem/wireless router.
I have my laptop and my Kindle Fire HD connected via wifi to this router, and they never experience the problem, only my GS3 and GS4.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

        Hi TR_Young,
We're here to help! Have you tried resetting your router? Do you know if your Wi-Fi router needs to be updated? I understand wanting the phones to stay connected to Wi-Fi. Do the phones having problems have trouble on other Wi-Fi networks? We look forward to hearing from you about these details.

  • Message server hogs CPU when clients are disconnected

Hi, I have a problem where java process for the Sun One Message Queue (3.0.1) hogs the cpu when a client is disconnected. I am trying to use the MQ in an environment where clients might crash and try to reconnect in an unpredictable fashion. Most of the time, when I kill the client and restart it, I do not see the problem. Sometimes, however, doing so makes the java process of mq take almsot 100% of Cpu and it does not go down unless i kill the mq process.
I am using asynchrnous message listeners with transactions, on a persisted queue, although i saw this problem when transaction was disabled.
Does anyone have any idea what might be the source of the problem? I hope it's just a matter of configuring MQ correctly, but i could figure it out. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running the enterprise edition and
    using round-robin queues with multiple
    receivers ?
If so, you may be running into a timing related bug
in multiple receivers that has been fixed in service
    pack releases of the software
You should contact sun support to discuss testing with
    the lastest service pack.
If not, can you provide more information (platform,
    # and type of receivers, etc) on how you are using
    the product

  • RDP Session Disconnect/Reconnect when RemoteApp is in Not Responding State (Server 2012)

Some of our applications running in our RDS environment tend to enter the Not Responding state while they're waiting for something in the background to happen (open a window, perform a calculation, etc.). When this happens we notice that the RemoteApp session
will quickly disconnect and then reconnect. This causes an issue with dialog boxes.  For example, printing to PDF.  A lot of time the dialog box for specifying where to save the PDF is in the background because RemoteApp disconnected and reconnected
causing the program your printing from to become the window of focus. This makes user think the program is truly not responding when in reality the dialog box is hidden and waiting for them.  They then need to click the icon on the taskbar to access the
    dialog window.
To my knowledge we never had this issue with Server 2008 R2.  Any help with this is greatly appreciated!
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
    Is the server 2012 R2?
Please confirm in the logs that a disconnect/reconnect is occurring.  On the client you would look at TerminalServices-ActiveXCore and on the server side you would look at TerminalServices-LocalSessionManager.
When this happened you had a continuous ping to the server and it did not lose any pings?
Having solid pings is a good sign, but you can still have a network problem that will cause the connection to drop.  You may want to update the NIC driver and firmware to the latest version recommended by your server manufacturer.
Additionally you should consider any routers/switches/etc. that are between the clients and the server as potentially suspect.  For example, I have seen where a NAT router would drop a connection periodically, then the connection would be re-established
and not have issues (until the next time).  One way to test would be to swap in a different make and model router/switch and see if the problem still exists.
    Thanks.

  • Wireless constantly disconnects

    Hi,
I am running an extremely old laptop (inspiron 4100) with lxde. The card I am using is a linksys PCMCIA the chipset is BCM4306 Rev 3.
The wireless would constantly disconnect and not reconnect using "Network-manager". I am now trying to connect manually from terminal using iwconfig (the internet here only has WEP) and it is not doing any better. Is this a driver issue most likely? Should I try to reinstall the network card?

Do you actually know from using other networks that the problem isn't the signal? Constant disconnects have only ever bugged me when the signal was weak or the connection really strained.

  • AFP inactive/sleeping clients not disconnecting

I have set clients to automatically disconnect after a certain amount of inactivity, or if they sleep, in Tiger server AFP services settings pane. Howerver, it seems nothing is ever being disconnected, as I've regularly got a list of clients that have been inactive or sleeping for hours still holding onto their connections. Every morning I have to manually kill all the inactive connections to allow users to log on again (as it seems the old connection is somehow preventing them from logging on again)...
    help?
    thanks

  • My mac osx 10.7.3 constantly disconnects from airport internet.

my mac osx 10.7.3 constantly disconnects from airport internet. I am able to reconnect every time but do this every 10 mins. i went to try and change channel but no airport base stations were found. i am positive it is not the router as all other devices stay connected. cant find any answers to my problem, just tons of others with the same issue!!!!

You can't discount your router just because the other devices work. The first thing I'd recommend doing is restarting the modem and router, then checking the router has the most up-to-date firmware (need to check that owners manual) and then you can check some other things like DNS settings and router channel conflicts with neighbors.
After restarting the router and double checking the firmware is up-to-date then I'd recommend checking the channel your router is on and what your neighbors use. You can download and use iStumbler, this will scan your area. If you are like most users neither you or your neighbors have changed the router channel from the default 5 or 6 channel. Look to see what channels are not being used and reset the router's channel. If that doesn't work then reset the DNS settings from the defaults your ISP uses. If you get to the point where the DNS does need to be reset here are the instructions:
    1. System preferences
    2. Network
    3. Click Advanced
    4. Click DNS tab
    5. Click + sign
    6. Add 208.67.222.222
    7. Click + sign
    8. Add 208.67.220.220
    9. Click OK.
    10. Exit System Preferences
If you want more info on the DNS please read CNET's DNS Article and MacWorld's DNS Troubleshooting articles. If all that fails then you can simply toggle the wi-fi on and off on the w-fi menu in the upper right of your screen.

  • Windows 7 keeps freezing, disconnecting/reconnecting USB devices

Last week, a lightning strike near where I live caused a power surge and as a result, my ethernet card was fried.  I took my computer (iMac) to a store to have it repaired, and they wound up replacing the entire motherboard (a bit extreme in my opinion, but what do I know).
When I got it back today, sure the ethernet problem was solved, but I noticed that my taskbar was acting weird - specifically the icons in the notification tray.  Lots of them were "blank", meaning there were just empty spaces that would highlight when I hovered the cursor over them, but nothing happened when I clicked them.
Then I discovered that clicking any of the icons in the notification tray almost immediately froze the computer.  Frozen, as in completely unresponsive to the point where my only option was to manually shut off the computer.  That happened twice.
My solution was to reboot in safe mode and run system restore to an earlier point.  That fixed the notification tray problem (no more freezing, and the icons were all back), but the computer still keeps freezing at random intervals.  Again, my only solution is to manually shut it off by holding down the power button, which I hate doing because I know it's bad for the hard drive.  Sometimes it froze as soon as the welcome screen.  I tried running a virus scan, but again it froze in the middle of the process.
On top of the constant freezing, it keeps disconnecting/reconnecting my usb devices.  My mouse and keyboard will suddenly drop out for five seconds and then start working again.  This constantly happens, to the tune of several "disconnect" sounds playing over the speakers.
What the heck is going on?  I tried re-installing the Boot Camp drivers, but that didn't work.  I have my Windows 7 CD and backed up files, so if worse comes to worst I can do a clean install of Windows, but I'd rather not have to spend a day re-building my computer, and I'd REALLY rather not take it back in for another repair, since that took a week and I need this for my work.
Any ideas on what I should do?  I'm out of town on my laptop for the weekend, and I'd like to have a game plan for when I get back.

I'm very excited to finally have a solution for this problem. Thank You Balaji for figuring this out. I've been struggling with this for a number of years, and had only one USB Hard Drive that worked. I too have VMware workstation, and had the missing files
in "c:\windows\inf." I can say with certainty that I did not delete the files from that folder, but something is common in both of our situations. Maybe it has to do with VMware, and some of it's updates over the years. I'm also using nCompute to share out
a networked desktop via the wire.
One more thing worthy of mention is this machine was an update from Windows Vista, and the USB hard drive that worked was configured back than. So although I could never add another HD, at least I had the one.
Now with having copied over the files, I can plugin other USB enclosures with different drives and they too are working.
Like you mentioned, it was always possible to use USB devices within my Virtual Machines, so it was clear that the USB ports were functional. I actually got the files from a clean Windows 7 VM, copying out the \windows\inf folder and doing a compare between
the the real one and the virtual one. I found the two missing files you mentioned, along with 8 others. I went ahead and included them all in your fix.
It worked, Amazing. Thanks again. :O)

  • 5508 WLC on 7.4MR2- Clients getting Disconnected using CWA

We are experiencing an issue with clients getting disconnected/time out from a wlan doing CWA.  The clients are iphones.  A debug client shows the error(Unknown Policy Timeout). This particular WLAN is used for provisioning with ISE. ISE shows the user authenticated the entuire time.  At first, we though it was the user idle timeout setting on the WLAN advanced tab, but after increasing that clients still get disconnected.  The disconnect occurs around 2 minutes.  Sometimes longer around 10 minutes.  Cisco seems to think we are hitting a bug introduced in 7.3.112 and will not be fixed until 8.0.  Below are the bug details and the debug output.  Has anyone seen this?  Any possible work-arounds? Thanks.

  • Itunes hangs on disconnect / reconnect of internet connection

Quite often I do stream internet radio stations using Itunes. I am listening through my BeoCenter2. When I swich of the BeoCenter2, I often forget to
stop the stream in Itunes. This would not a problem, but because my internet provider drops the connection every night for one second.
This disconnect / reconnect is not handled by Itunes correctely. From this moment on Itunes is frozen and hangs. Itunes has to be killed.
Any advice? Or is there a bug fix on the way?

    Hi,
Thanks for that - good advice I'll file a report.
I've just switched to streaming music this way after struggling for many years with a Logitech Duet.  When it worked  it was brilliant, but very flaky at times.  Naively I thought I would switch to something totally reliable and sorted.  To be fair the remote app works brilliantly on iphone and no problem with streaming my music collection - just that, like you, I stream radio feeds too.   I cannot believe others don't have the same problem too.  My internet connection drops out several times a day, which I'm pursuing as well.
    If/when I make progress I'll post it.
