  • New Goods Movement Type for Inventory Manager

    Hi Guys,
I need to change a goods movement code used on Mobile App Inventory Manager 4.0 to a custom (Z) goods movement code, the fileds are the same so I thought changing the constant will work for this as we do a GoodReceipt with no reference to Purchase nor Production order (gmCode = 501) with a custom, copied from standard, Movement type gmCode = 950 (this is a well known practice on ERP). I have changed only the global constant on my copied IM application, for testing purpose and the local GR was created with gmCode = 950 instead of gmCode = 501, but when I was transmiting in order to create goods movement document on SAP, the application throws an error like: "PostReceiptsSteplet - Goods Movement Impossible with good movement type 950 - Server error". So I would like to know first:
If is it possible to include or change the standard gmCode for custom gmCode on mobile app Inventory Manager 4.0?
What would it be the Best Practice to do this? The steps to include a custom movement type, now I know is not only changes on global constants
I have checked the java doc for this method "PostReceiptsSteplet", and it did not say anything about the constructor .... or how is used... what has inside... what is the condition of execution.... nothing ...

If those java source code are so troublesome to request... why should I request them if I won't change the app's base functionality??. Instead of requesting those java source code, the documentation of the java doc should improve, well the documentation in general for this app should improve ... Is only a suggestion ... I'm trying very hard not to ask for those source code, because what Mark Pe  answer me on another post: If I ask for them, a disclamer must be signed because I could change a base functionality... and that's perfectly fine. But if I need to extend a class and add a few field: why do I need to ask for the code instead of checking the documentation and apply the customization needed?
Now I have some trouble extending a SAPOBJECT, because I don't quite understand the design of how you manage MaterialDocument / MaterialDocumentItem on the app. But I will post this question on another thread

  • Quality stock type in Ware House Management

    Dear Experts,
During LT10 - Transfer Order Confirmation stock should post to Quality Stock type, but now it is posting to UnR.Stock.
Please suggest what settings we need to carry out
    Regards

    hi
    check following...
1.IMG: Logistics Execution > Warehouse Management > Activities > Transfers > Define Movement Types
Here please check that Your warehouse and movement type is there and also check the all settings by double clicking on movement type 321 or 311
2.IMG: Logistics Execution > Warehouse Management > Interfaces > Inventory Management > Define Movement Types >> LE-WM Interface to Inventory Management
Here you ensure that your IM movement type 321 or 311 are assigned to WM movement types 321 or 311 and also have Immediate TO creation set to "A" (automatically in the background)
Warehouse Management also has movement types which, similar to their counterparts in Inventory Management, control the process flow in the warehouse. In particular, Warehouse Management movement types influence the interim storage area to be used (the organizational bridge between Inventory Management and Warehouse Management). You link the movement types from Inventory Management to the Warehouse Management movement types in Customizing to ensure a technical connection between WM and IM. For example, if a goods receipt for a purchase order or work order is posted using Inventory Management movement type 101 to a storage location with Warehouse Management, the system determines the corresponding Warehouse Management movement type and, depending on the settings for the WM movement type, generates stock in a "goods receipt" interim storage area. As to key 321 and 322, system needn't two movement type for one stock transfer from QI to unrestricted stock in WM, so you saw only the WM movement type 321 used for IM MVT 321 and 322.so for 331 of IM it will search for corrosponding 331 of WM.

    Group number     01     R
    1.2.2     Defining Storage Type
    Use
A warehouse number is subdivided into a variety of storage types. A storage type is defined by its physical or organizational features (for example, high rack storage area, bulk storage, and goods receipt areas).
A storage type has a short description rather than an address.
Before you can implement Lean WM, you must configure the following settings:
    1.     Assign a (newly defined) storage location to a warehouse number.(This step is defined by step 3.12 Control Plant / Storage Location / Warehouse Number Assignment
    2.     You should set up at least three storage types:
     a storage type (that will be used as a source storage type) with one or several fixed storage bins
     a goods issue area (as destination storage type) for deliveries
     an interim storage area for differences
    Procedure
    1.     Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu     IMG  Logistic Execution  Shipping  Picking  Lean WM   Define Storage type

    1.2.3     Defining Doors
    Use
In a WM-managed warehouse, you can define dock doors (also known as doors or gates). A door is a location where the goods either arrive in the warehouse or leave it.
You can assign different functions to a dock door, for example:
    Goods receipt
    Goods issue
Other transactions such as cross-docking and flow-through
    Procedure
    1.     Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu     IMG  Logistic Execution  Shipping  Picking  Lean WM  Define Doors

    1.2.4     Defining Material Staging Areas
    Use
A staging area is an interim storage area for goods that have been received from goods receipt and afterwards need to be transferred into the warehouse.
It is also an interim storage area for goods that were picked in a warehouse and are to be loaded for goods issue through loading ramps or doors.
You can assign different functions to a staging area:
    •     Goods issue
    •     Goods receipt
    Procedure
    1.     Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

    1.2.7     Defining Movement Types
    Use
The SAP R/3 System uses movement type to process movements in Inventory Management (for example, goods receipt for a purchase order or goods issue to a cost center). When the system recognizes a movement as being relevant for Warehouse Management, it assigns this movement to a WM movement type by means of a table.
The movement type for the Warehouse Management System provides the information required for stock removals or picking:
         Interim storage bin
         Fixed bin coordinate
     Control indicator for processing, confirming, and printing transfer orders
         Confirmation info
    Procedure
    1.     Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

1.2.9.2     Control Plant / Storage Location / Warehouse Number Assignment
    Use
You can control for each combination of plant, storage location, and warehouse number whether Lean WM or standard management of bin inventory is to be selected.
If you are using Lean WM, you can also specify a picking storage type that is used for creating transfer orders.
    Procedure
    1.     Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu     IMG  Logistic Execution  Shipping  Picking  Lean WM   Control Plant / Storage Location / Warehouse Number Assignment

    SC     K1     Storage conditions
    SLoc     0005     Storage location
    1.3     Print Control for Warehouse
    Use
    Print control defines the following:
    •     Which slips are to be printed for the movements (that is, for the transfer orders) within the Warehouse Management System
    •     How these slips are to be printed (that is, which forms are to be used, how many copies are to be printed)
    •     On which printer a slip is to be printed automatically
And print control manages the print operations of the warehouse. This flexibility involves a certain degree of complexity with regard to the parameterization.
    Procedure
    1.     Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu     IMG  Logistic Execution  Shipping  Picking  Lean WM   Define Print control
    Transaction Code     OMLV

1.4.1     Maintaining Number Range Intervals for Transfer Order
    Use
Maintain number range intervals for transfer order
    Procedure
In this step, you define that, the Number range for Transfer order as 01 and Group number as 01, now you should tell the system how the number range would like for 01 as transfer order and 01 for the group number, for both number range, you may define you own number range, the following information just for reference:
Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu     IMG  Logistic Execution  Shipping  Picking  Lean WM  Define control parameters and number ranges for the warehouse number  Maintain number range intervals for transfer orders (double click)
    Transaction Code     LN02
Check if the internal number range 01 (0000000001-1000000000) has been defined
Once you have defined your number ranges, it is extremely difficult to change them afterwards when the objects concerned are filled with data.
Bear in mind that you will be entering data on a long-term basis. Create your number range intervals accordingly.
1.4.2     Maintaining Number Range Intervals for Reference Numbers
    Use
Reference number range has the following meanings:
This number identifies a number range to be used for the assignment of sequential numbers for WM reference numbers. Reference numbers are used to create or print a group of transfer orders at one time.
A sequential number generated by the system for the purpose of multiple processing of transfer requirements and delivery notes.
The reference number can also be used to print the resulting transfer orders at a later time.
    Procedure
In this step, you define that, the Number range for Transfer order as 01 and Group number as 01, now you should tell the system how the number range would like for 01 as transfer order and 01 for the group number, for both number range, you may define you own number range, the following information just for reference:
Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
IMG Menu     IMG  Logistic Execution  Shipping  Picking  Lean WM Define control parameters and number ranges for the warehouse number  Maintain number range intervals for Reference Numbers( double click)
    Transaction Code     LN06
Check if the internal number range 01 (5000000000 - 5999999999) has been defined
Once you have defined your number ranges, it is extremely difficult to change them afterwards when the objects concerned are filled with data.
Bear in mind that you will be entering data on a long-term basis. Create your number range intervals accordingly.

  • Ware house management

    Hello friends,
I have client interview on this "WARE HOUSE MANAGEMENT AND LEAN WARE HOUSE MANAGEMENT" . So please help me out by sending good material. Really waiting for good support.
    Thanks,
    Rams.

from here questions are also asked in the certification exams, so here's a point-wise rant:-
If you have a warehouse with random storage, you need to use the WM System with full functionality. Since a material can be stored in different storage bins or even several storage bins at the same time, precise inventory management at the level of the storage bin is required.
     Lean WM does not have inventory management at the level of the storage bin and is therefore more suitable for fixed bin warehouses. In a fixed bin storage area, the material is always in the same storage bin.
     To print the storage bin in the picking document, you must maintain the respective data in the material master in the view "Storage 1". Maintenance of further warehouse data and the Warehouse Management views is not required.
     Some of the WM functions not included in Lean WM are listed below:
         Storage sections
         Reserve storage bins
     Strategies for putaway and picking
         Replenishment
         Inventory at storage-bin level
    This considerably reduces implementation effort.
     For Lean WM you need at least one warehouse number and at least one storage type from which picking takes place and one storage type in which goods are stored (for example, picking storage type as source storage type, shipping zone as destination storage type).
     In the picking storage area, you can have storage bins grouped together from the stock removal viewpoint (for example, to distribute the workload evenly). Picking areas can be defined for each warehouse number and storage type.
     In addition to the picking area, there are other organizational units in the warehouse. These are the staging areas and the doors. They are defined in the outbound delivery or determined by the system and they can also be printed out on the picking documents.
     You can activate Lean WM in Customizing at the warehouse number level.
     You assign a warehouse number to a combination of plant and storage type. In this way, the organizational units in the warehouse are linked up to MM Inventory Management. Also, through this assignment, a status for WM activities is assigned to the respective items in the outbound delivery.

In Batch management config in Logistic general, Check for the movement type 101 & 321 whether batch creation has been activated to Manual, Automatic, or no creation. In your case it looks like for mvt 321 batch creation is set to manual & for 101 no creation.
if batch creation is set to manual, enter a manual batch no & proceed.
But to cross verify wheter 101 has generated batch or not please check the stocks in MMBE.
    Hope this helps.

  • Goods movement type for PM order

    Dear experts,
In PM order we are using goods movement type 261 for goods issue. This movement type is attached to one package & made it defaulted for PM order. Now I want to have one more movement type 951 for my PM order for issuing the goods.
In brief I want one more option for issuing the goods.
Please note that i am using only MIGO for goods issue. The reservations will be automatically created while saving the order. we do not want to use manual reservation.
    Please do the needful.
    Thanks & best regards,
    Praveen

    Dear Thyagarajan,
    Thanks for the response.
In IMG we are setting the movement type against the package(in my case IW01). where does it get connected to PM orders. There is a option of additional of many other packages too. how can system will come to know that it should pick only the specific package?
    Please elaborate.
    Thanks & best regards,
