Warehouse Builder + Worflow Server

Hello
I have installed Oracle WareHouse Builder 10.1.0.2 in server and client, also installed Oracle Workflow Server 2.6.3 in server .
Each time i try to deploy a process to the workflow repository i have the following error:
"Workflow version is 2.6.4 in server version is 2.6.3"
Server version is 2.6.3 , in client i an using the warehouse builder, wich has a small workflow interface with version 2.6.4 ....
If i go to download pages in technet the lattest version of Worflow server is 2.6.3 ... i am confused ...
any help ?
Best Regards
Rui Madaleno

Hi Rui,
I'm a bit confused too... but then I looked up the drop down list in the product and it has the following options for the OWF versions (this is per location):
2.6.2
2.6.3
2.6.4
What you will need to do is change your workflow location to contain version 2.6.3. Than you should be all set.
Thanks,
Jean-Pierre

  • Oracle warehouse Builder Sql server connectivity

    Hi ...
I want to import tables from sqlserver into my datawarehous
    using warehouse builder 3i.
Is it posiible to connect to sqlserver from warehouse builder.
Do we have any gateways available for connecting sqlserver.
    I wouid appreciate any help.
    Regards
    Gopi

    Hi,
The gateway that Oracle provides for this purpose is Pure
Integrate. In pure integrate define a project(as we do in
warehouse builder). Then configure your ODBC source(it supports
SQl server, MS Access and variuos other Databases).Once defined
and configured take export of the project and import in
    warehouse builder.
In OWB then You can keep on adding various modules and other
object in the imported Projects. The imported project will have
source module as configured in Pure integrate. With this you
don't need to export SQl server objects as flat files.

  • Redefinition of locations when move Warehouse Builder to new server

    Hi
We have 4 DW/OWB environment, but only one design repository (development)
We have defined 4 configurations with 4 "sets" of locations.
The locatiosn are defined as host:port:servicename, because of bug, when defined as tns.
Now we are moving our DW to a new server and must redefine all locations.
After the movement we have to
    1) unregister all locations
    2) change all locations
    3) register all locations
    4) redeploy all mappings, process flows and procedures
This is a huge task, even if it can be automated via a OMBPlus script.
Does any one know about a script (SQL or OMBPlus), that can be used for redefinition of the locations in the design repository and the 4 runtime repositories, so we don't have to perform the above tasks ?

    Hi
Re: NTP... you can have multiple NTP servers assigned, and only the primary NTP server is used for license MAC generation. As such, I would:
    1) set the primary NTP server to be the real NTP address you want to use. This will not be accessible when you build the server with the old servers' IP.
    2) set the secondary NTP server to an accessible NTP server. I do this by setting up NTP on the server you serve the SFTP backup file from. I use Meinberg NTP if this is a Windows box, it's free.
That way you can build the server (primary NTP not accessible, but secondary is so it's fine). Then after the restore, change IP address and it will start using the primary NTP server.
I presume deployment type refers to product and role .e.g. a CUCM Publisher, not a CUC server or CUCMBE publisher.

  • Oracle Warehouse Builder 10.1.0.4

    Hi All,
I am searching for Oracle Warehouse builder 10.1 release which is compatible with Oracle database 10gR2 on solaris x86 server.
I have found softwares for solaris sparc but nothing seems available for oracle 10gR2 on solaris x86.
OWB 10.1.0.3 is compatible with oracle database 10gR1 and owb 10.1.0.4 and owb 10.1.0.5 are only compatible with 10gR2.
Currently we are facing some problem with Owb 10.2.0.1 so we have to relay on owb 10.1 release.
Can any one help me to find link for downloading
OWB 10.1.0.4 or 10.1.0.5 for solaris x86 server...

  • Warehouse Builder - Workflow - How to integrate both?

    Hi All
I have installed Oracle Workflow Server in a SUN machine; and the Oracle
Workflow Client (Builder) in a WIN2000 machine.
In the SUN machine, I already had installed Oracle9i and OMS (Oracle
    Management Server) version 9.2.0.1.0.
In the WINDOWS 2000 machine, I already had installed the Oracle9i
Client and the OWB (Oracle Warehouse Builder) version 9.0.3.35.0. Workflow Builder
was installed together with Oracle Client components.
I have a OWB (Oracle Warehouse Builder) project, and I deploy and schedule JOBS in OEM.
Now I need Oracle Workflow in order to better ordering, manage and schedule that jobs.
    I'm reading the following documentation:
    Oracle Workflow Guide (Release 2.6.2)
    http://www.csis.gvsu.edu/GeneralInfo/Oracle/workflow.920/a95265.pdf
But I think Oracle Workflow is very complex to learn quickly.
My OWB Project has several mappings that load tables in a Data Warehouse.
When I deploy these mappings one by one, in OEM, I can execute them in OEM
    and they work well.
But when I use the Workflow Deployment Wizard, I create a new Workflow
    Project (Item type and Process).
But I can't Launch this process. I go to Launch Process in Workflow page
(http://<my_machine>:<port>/pls/<WorkDAD>/) but when I iniciate the project,
it stops in the OWB Standard Begin Function. It does not go ahead.
Well, when I use the Workflow Deployment Wizard inside OWB, it generates jobs that can
be viewed inside OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) too. But when I submit
these jobs, I can't get success too.
Can somebody help me? May you guide me in order to solve my problem, or send me some
documents or links about workflow, and it's integration with OWB and OEM?

Mark, I've already made the steps you suggested.
As it did not works yet, I will explain step by step what I've made, and the versions of the softwares:
In my Win2000 machine (development) I have installed:
    - OWB version "9.0.3.33.0" and updated it to "9.0.3.35.0". (in a Oracle9iDS ORACLE_HOME).
    - the OEM version "9.2.0.1.0" and Oracle Workflow Builder version "2.6.1.5.2" (in a Oracle9i ORACLE_HOME), both were installed with Oracle9i Client. Here maybe an error is the OWF Builder version, is there an newer version of it?
In a SUN SOLARIS machine (the server) we have installed:
    - OMS version "9.2.0.1.0".
    - OWF Server version "2.6.2" (installed with Oracle "9.0.2.1").
    - Apache HTTP Server version "1.3" (also installed with Oracle "9.0.2.1").
    - The repository for OWB, OEM and OWF (both 3 are different schemas in one database), and the target Warehouse (another database) are installed in this machine (SUN) too.
Well, working in my OWB project I can normaly deploy my tables, views and mappings in the target warehouse.
I can also run these jobs (generated by OWB) and they populate the Warehouse tables. It is exactly what I need, but now I need to schedule and order these jobs in workflow, you know.
When I run the Workflow Deployment Wizard (in OWB), in the "connect information for the Workflow Server" screen, I fill in with the "owf_mgr" username and its password. In the next screen I choose one or more mappings.
Next, suppose I fill in the Workflow Item Type as WIT_DW and the Workflow Process as WP_DW.
And in the last screen, I check the option "Deploy the Workflow Process into OEM".
It generates 4 jobs in OEM:
    - WIT_DW_OWB_STD_BEGIN
    - WIT_DW_OWB_STD_END
    - WIT_DW_OWB_STD_ERROR
    - WIT_DW_WP_DW
Next, I go to the Oracle Workflow Builder, open the project I've created (in the Database), make the flow, and save the project.
Next, I come back to the OEM and Submit the "WIT_DW_WP_DW" job, but it does not work. So, there's something wrong yet.
    About the Workflow Queue Listener:
    - Together with OWB 9.0.33.3.0 installation, there's the directory "extras\wfql_unix". I copied this directory contents inside "$ORACLE_HOME" in SUN.
    - Inside OWB, in the Warehouse Module, in the "Configuration Properties DATA_WAREHOUSE" screen, I filled in the "Run
Time Directories > Queue Listener Directory" field with "/disk1/oracle/owb/bin/solaris". (It's the local where the workflowqlsnr.sh is located). And in the field "Queue Listener Host" I put the name of the SUN machine.
    - But I can't run the workflowqlsnr.sh with success. Some java errors occurs. Is there anything to do or configure yet?
More questions (Please I'd very glad if you could help me):
    - Is there some thing I need to configure in the Workflow Manager page?
E.g., change or add Background Engine / Agent Listener / Queue Propagation / Purge.
    - Is there some thing I need to configure in the Workflow home page?
    - How do I erase the Workflow Items Type in the Workflow Home Page? I runned the "workflowqclr.sh" but it didn't erase.
    Thanks again

    You wrote:
    Adriano,
In order to manage the dependencies between the mappings using Oracle Workflow you have to do the following:
    - Deploy your mappings (PL/SQL into the database; ABAP to the SAP machine; SQL loader on to the target database's file system).
    - Register all mappings in OEM (that is, using the tcl scripts and the OEM register button).
    - Run the Workflow deployment wizard to create the process steps in Oracle Workflow. At the end of the wizard, you can choose to create Workflow jobs to invoke the process flow.
    - Use Workflow Builder to build the actual process flow (so far you have only created the process steps). Save the process.
    - Either use OEM to submit the process or use the workflowqlsnr.sh to invoke the workflow queue listener manually. In order to use OEM, make sure you have set the Workflow Queue listener path correctly in the configuration of the target module.
Then... figgers crossed... it should work.
    Hope this helps,

  • Oracle Warehouse Builder

    Dear buddies,
I need to migrate my tables and data from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10g.
My boss's requirement is I must be able to redo it at any point of time. Meaning, I should be able to use the script at any point to recreate the tables and reload them independently without using SQL Server or the existing configurations.
Does OracleWarehouse Builder provide such scripts after the migration or in the process of migration, which can be reused independently?
There are about 7 SQL Server databases and each has around 270 tables. Some would be totally new and some would involve merging.
    Please advice me.
    Thanks.

    Hi everyone,
I tried to Just started like this
    1 - Start - All programs - Oracle Home - Warehouse Builder - Administration - Repository Assitant - Basic Install -
    2 - User Name=rep_user
    password=rep_user
    sysdba user name = sys
sysdba password = the password i gave during the database creation (using dbca)
    hostname=localhost
    port number = 1521
oracle service name = test6 (the name for the database & instance for which i just created)
When I click Next, this error pops us:

The remaining disk space for that drive is few gigs and I have created the database with the 16384.
Please advice on how I should go about this.
I have been struggling to perform my migration. I really hope someone would be able to guide me through.
    OS: Windows 2003 Enter Edition
    Oracle 10g
And I am not able to access anything from SQL Plus after I installed Oracle Warehouse Builder.
So, is the error I am facing something like to do with a bad installation? Do I need to uninstall my OWB or uninstall my oracle and OWB and reinstall them?
    Please guide me.

  • Is workflow included in 10.2.0.4 warehouse builder?

    Hi there
Is oracle workflow included within 10.2.0.4?
From otherhelpful replies, I have learnt we need to install oracle 10.2.0.1 then the 10.2.04 patch to bring us up to 10.2.0.4.
We need to run process flows so I understand we need oracle workflow.
Is this included within the warehouse builder installs (both client and server or is it just a the server-side we would need to worry about?) or do we need separate installs for these?
Does anyone know which versions of worklfow we would need for 10.2.0.4 in the event that separate installs are needed?
    Many Thanks

    Hi Patrick
    Thanks for the info.
Just finished installing 10.2.0.1 on Windows client and the 10.2.0.4 patch on top of that.
Can I assume I can ignore the bit in the readme below where it talks about the upgrade utility since we have yet to create our repository.
    Many Thanks
    5. Navigate to the appropriate execution directory under the Warehouse Builder home directory and run the upgrade utility. The specific file you should execute depends on the release of the Oracle Database you are running.
For Windows, the .bat files are located under the win32 directory. If your Oracle Database is either 9iR2 or10gR1 run the following:
    owb home/owb/bin/win32/DTupg102to10204_10gR1.bat
Or, if your Oracle Database is 10gR2 run the following:
    owb home/owb/bin/win32/DTupg102to10204_10gR2.bat
For UNIX, the .sh files are located under the unix directory. If your Oracle Database is either 9iR2 or 10gR1, run the following:
    owb home/owb/bin/unix/DTupg102to10204_10gR1.sh
Or, if your Oracle Database is 10gR2 run the following:
    owb home/owb/bin/unix/DTupg102to10204_10gR2.sh
    6. Enter the database connection information, the Warehouse Builder repository owner credentials, and the SYS user credentials.
The upgrade utility proceeds to upgrade the Warehouse Builder objects associated with the selected repository owner.
The upgrade utility logs any errors in the file owb home/owb/reposasst/upg/LOG.TXT. Note that you can ignore any creation errors reported due to objects already existing.

  • Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g installation issues

    Hi All,
I have downloaded the OWB 10g, from the site. I have Oracle 10g (Release 2) database server installed on the machine.
When I start installing Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g, it just does the client installation and I am not able to find out were should I search for the OWB server installation?
Even I have checked by installing the same but I just have Repository Assistant , Design Center and Repository Browser available on the machine. I could not find the Runtime Assistant & Control Center to work on?
Can somebody help me out with these issues?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Anand

    Hi...
There is an explanations..from the FAQ itself :
How do I download and install Warehouse Builder Client versus Warehouse Builder Server?
Warehouse Builder is a single install image that contains both Client and Server components, which are installed at the same time as part of the installation process. If the deployment target database is on the same machine as Warehouse Builder Client UI, there is one single installation process. If the deployment target database is on a separate machine, the install process has to be run twice, repeating the exact same install process on the client machine (to run the Warehouse Builder Design client) and the deployment target machine. Normally when installing the repository, either locally or remotely, the OWB software needs to be already present on the machine. However, it is possible to skip or defer the step of installing on the target deployment machine. This is referred to as a “Remote Target Configuration”. More information on this can be found in the Installation Guide, Chapter 2, “Remote Target”.
    hope this helps...

  • Warehouse Builder Install

I am new to Warehouse Builder and relatively new to Oracle, but not to database/software. I am involved in a study trying to determine if OWB 10g might be useful in my current project. However, I am not having any luck in installing OWB.
I believe I am following the install direction correctly, but I find that I keep running into problems. The documentation says that only the 10g database needs to be installed, but I keep finding that other elements need to be installed in order for the OWB install to continue (e.g HTTP server, portal).
Can anyone provide (or point me to) clear step-by-step instruction on installing OWB 10g on a clean system (or on a system with ONLY the Oracle Database 10g installed).
    Thank you

    Good morning Chuck,
I've performed a clean install of OWB10g on a basic 10g install on my laptop (no HTTP server etc) but no problems there.
Have you checked the Installation and Configuration Guide for basic requirements? Especially Chapter 1 and Appendix A.

  • Connecting Oracle Warehouse Builder to an Informix data source

I am having trouble connecting Oracle Warehouse Builder to my Informix database. I am getting error ORQ-28545. Here is what I did: Under Project Explorer I went to Non-Oracle under Datases. Then right click on Informix and selected New. In the Create Module Window I edit a the Location. Gave it a name, Set Type to HOST:PORT:SERVICE, enter my username, passowrd, my Host IP, left Port as default(1521), enter my Service Name, Enter the Schema. Click on Test Connection and got the above mentioned error.

    Hi,
the first you should configure access to your Informix database at target Oracle DB (OWB works with non-Oracle DB over HS).
So you should perform all steps described in Oracle Database Heterogeneous Connectivity Administrator's Guide (4.1 Setting Up Access to Non-Oracle Systems):

  • Archiving audit trail using data warehouse builder.

How do you archive audit trail using data warehouse builder ?
Can someone please provide any steps in archiving the audit trail table aud$ ?

    Hi.
Sorry 'bout my ignorance, what is a POC?
About OWB Installation cenario, it's all up to you. If your target database is a 9i db and you don't want to have a new database instance, then you can place all OWB repositories in this instance. Remember that DB release must be at least 9iR2. For further information, check OWB Installation Guide.
You'll find all OWB 10g R2 documentation in here:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/nav/portal_booklist.htm
OWB client may reside in any client machine or even in the host machine (if it's a windows server).
If you prefer to have a brand new instance to host OWB Repositories, you must create the runtime rep. in the target database (9i), in order to avoid loading performance issues.
    Hope this helps
