I just installed SCVMM 2012.
I'm getting the following warnings after adding my failover hyperv clusters in SCVMM.
"Agent communication is blocked, Virtualization software or VMM agent is unsupported"
Recommended action is, Update the agent of the virtualization software and try again.
Questions:
1. Where do I find the current version of the agent installed?
2. Where do I get the latest version of agent to update?
3. How do I update the agents on my failover hyperv clusters.
Request help.

This is the problem i think you posted on the upper side.
You can install agent manually from your vmm server ,
C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\Virtual Machine Manager\agents\amd64\3.0.6005.0
copy vmmagent.msi to target cluster.
Run Command prompt with administrative priviledge,
at command prompt c:\VMMAgent.msi (Enter) where the vmmagent.msi is.
But if the account is not in local administrator group and VMM User Roles, your error will go on.

Force/Configure Agent communication network and backup data network

Hi,
I have a simple question but I cannot find an answer to it.
question: How do i force DPM to have all Agent communication flow through the production Network and NOT use the backup Network?
Situation: production Network - this should be used for Agent communication - all Firewalls for this are open here - it works as Long as we do not add the backuplan to the Hosts we want to backup.
backup Network - this is configured in DPM as the backup Network - as stated on TechNet this subnet is also registered in DNS for all Hosts that we want to backup so DPM is able to resolve it
Problem: Agent communication Fails regularly and backups too due to Agent communication errors
Reason that we think is the cause of Agent communication: due to the requirement to resolve both the production net IP and backup net IP of every host we backup there are 2 records in DNS for each host. So what I have seen is that as long as DPM resolves
the host Name to the production IP of the host, everything works fine (Firewalls are open for that network) but as soon as DNS returns the backup net IP, the Agent communication fails as this network is not open for Agent communication in our firewall. To
make things worse I have seen that the DPM host Agent goes out on the production lan and tries to communicate with the Agent on the host using the backuplan. That is never going to work as Firewalls are only opened within the same subnet.
I do not see any solution here. DPM offers powershell command to define a backup lan but how do I force the Agent communication to use only the production Network?

Add IP backup network address to hosts file (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) in DPM servers and protected server with agent DPM.
NOT registered in DNS .

Suppress Powershell Warning in agent job "WARNING: Could not obtain SQL Server Service information"

Hi
I get this warning running through powershell_ise but through sql agent it just errors out.
The code does everything it is supposed to and I tried everything to completely resolve the warning to no avail.
How do I supress it so sql agent wont error out running powershell code?

Warning only present when it connects to remote servers, it doesn't produce it for local server. And it does get all info from the remote servers.

According to your description, when you run powershell scripts about the remote machine
in SQL Server Agent job, the warning error will occur. “The common error message is Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)).” This suggests that your credentials aren't sufficient for accessing the
remote system. If you have an account that has sufficient permissions for the query, there's a simple workaround for this problem in the form of PowerShell's Get-Credential command and the script's Credential parameter. I recommend you check if your account
has permission on remote machine and it can execute the powershell scripts.
In addition, if you want to run query statement on the remote machine , I recommend you create Linked Server, then do some related operations. There is a similar issue about access denied, you can review the following article.

Go to OVZ7, in 01 (Credit limit) , select Confirmation block .
This is used to block the reservation of the TOR from MRP.

OLT Agent Communication Error

Hi,
I have recorded load test script using openscript, ran the script within openscript its working fine.
But not able to run in OLT. (installed OATS 9.1)
Settings:
Java client mode
JVM size: 1024
When I launch the load test it gives me the following error while starting in the Watch VU Grid as follows:
"Error communicating with Oracle Load Testing Agent Manager on oats-am://odtemp-idc.idc.oracle.com:9001: Timed out after 60 seconds."
I have tried everyways, and even tried setting the OLT Agent service logon properties with the local account settings.
still getting the error.
Anyhelp would be highly appreciated.

Communication program blocks interface

Hy,
I am developing an application which consists in a communication between a client and a server.
If no GUI is present, then the application runs perfectly.
Now I put two windows: one for the client and one for the server, both putting information on JTextAreas about the operations the client/server are doing. For the beginning, I have a button that when I click it I want to start the server.
If I press this button, the whole GUI is blocked by the "serverSocket.accept()".
I want to make this application, running without blocking my GUI, (graphic indepent of logic). I suppose it's a problem of threads concurency, but I don't know how to fix it...

PSC Setup - Setting REX Agent Configuration, state blocked at "Ongoing"

I followed the IAC (IAC 4, PSC 10) install guide, but I'm stuck at the "Setting REX Agent Configuration".
I should wait for the task to complete, but the state is blocked at "Ongoing (2 of 3 Completed)" since yesterday. I don't know why it's stuck and what to do.

We get the following error sporadically, and it seems to always deal with an Exchange Server service stealing the DPMRA port. Is there any way to get this to stop. We have to put the mailbox server in 2010 into DAG maintenance and restart services. This
is not optimal. The below error is what we receive. Seems to be the Microsoft Exchange Replication Service:
DPM failed to communicate with servername because of a communication error with the protection agent. (ID 53 Details: Server execution failed (0x80080005))

Run Setagentcfg.exe by using the following command:

In this command, <var><alternative port></var> represents the nondefault port.
By default, this command should be located in the following folder:

Verify that a new entry is created in the following registry subkey:

does not give any warnings. )

I always wonder how people are easily able to find bugs that we miss with our millions of tests.

VDA agent communication

Guys,
I am pulling my hair here. I have SGD 4.41 and VDA 1.0 installed on RHEL 5.1
I have a Virtual Center 2.5. I have installed Agent on Virtual Center.
When I try to connect VDA to Virtual Center, I get:
"Could not establish communication with configured agent"
I can resolve and ping names from both (VC and SGD server).
Any ideas?!

Are you running with the latest patches installed of VDA on both the VC (agent) and the Sunray server ?
What version of VC are you running ?

Is there any facility in IPCC Express ( Enhanced) version for the supervisor to communicate with the agent without hearing the customer ?

SCOM agent Communication Error

Hello All,
I have a SCOM 2007 R2 CU5 environment, I have some clients(15 servers) to be monitored on the same.
All the 15 servers are in same domain as SCOM server, but different VLAN(there is no internal Firewall). we have opened the port 5723 bi-directionally and installed the agent manually, but in event
viewer its giving Error 21006.
Telnet (IPaddress of SCOM MS server) 5723 is working fine, but unable to telnet using FQDN of MS server.
Kindly help me to resolve this issue

collected data and events on the disk of the monitored computer. When the connection is restored, the System Center Management Health service sends collected data and events to the management server.
