Warning! Apostrophes break attachments in 11.1 sp1

In versions prior to sp1 having an apostrophe in a file
name or in a directory path name was not an issue. Now
with version 11.1 sp1 these paths will render an "Access
Denied" when trying to view.
Current resolution
is to wait till CM 12 arrives.

One of my users found that by right-clicking on the
attachment and selecting "Open" the file will open,
even when it has an apostrophe. It's a bit easier than
what I was having them do - Save the file or email it
to themselves.

  • Lots of Warning 1706 logged on VMM 2008 R2 Sp1

    Hi,
I have VMM 2008 R2 Sp1 server with 3 Hyper-V hosts connected. In VM Manager event log I have noticed lots of 1706 warnings:
"Job <Id> (Refresh virtual machine) failed to complete".
Is it anything dangerous for my servers? Should I troubleshoot it?

There are also "Job <Id> (Refresh host) failed to complete" 1706 warnings logged. Could anyone help me with this? How to troubleshoot this problem?

  • Delayed attachments with Exchange 2010 SP1

    Hi folks,
we have a big issue here with Apple Mail in 10.6.8, 10.7.4 and 10.8.0, but particularly in 10.6.8.
When someone receives an e-mail with an attachment, it may be, that the attachment is delayed up to 5 hours. But in the Outlook Web Access, in Outlook 2011 for Mac and on iOS it appears immediately.
    The exchange server is a 2010 SP 1 RU5.
Does any one have an idea on this?
    Thanks a lot,
    yaench

Every time I launch InDesign CC I am presented with the following warning: “Hyphenation breaks may change if you edit the text in this document.  The following hyphenation services are not installed on this system - Proximity (English: USA)”  What is this and what should I do about it?

Simple and sweet.  All fixed.  Thanks.

  • Nokia 500 Review on Symbian Belle

After the update screen went through, I had my fingers crossed, and despite the screen saying “15 minutes remaining,” the update was finished in about 5 minutes.
Upon startup, there was a line of dots (….) which lighted up on after the other sort of like a loading bar and it was. After the loading came the usual language selection and Ovi suite options (“Create an Ovi Account” “I have an account” and of course “Later.”) after going through the Ovi suite options (literally took 10 seconds) my carrier had charged me about 0.45cents (USD cents) for the tips I had signed up on while I still had Symbian Anna on the device. Nokia suite was installing support software after the phone booted up and after 5 more minutes, I set the date, time and location and I was presented with the home screen. The standard home screen as on other Belle devices with the Flip clock, Ovi Social widget and 4 icons (Camera, contacts, Angry birds [oh yea!] and Maps) at the last widget’s position; at the bottom edge of the screen are menu, call and home screen options. The widgets take a few seconds to load but once they load they don’t lag. The second home screen has “Favorite contacts” widgets and 4 more icons (Messaging, Store, Calendar and Web), the third home screen has a Music player widget and the 4th home screen is blank for the user to customize. Unlike other Nokia/Symbian Belle devices, the Nokia 500 only has 4 home screens as opposed to 6.
The lock screen is similar to the Anna screen and is only redesigned. The Belle home screen allows usage of a background unlike Symbian Anna’s.
Now the menu: unlike Symbian Anna, the menu does not have an applications folder so everything is spread out on the home screen creating a mini mess. Luckily, there is an option to create a new folder in which to put your apps in.
In Symbian Anna, the keypad for ‘Call’ was not very user friendly as the ‘*’ and ‘#’ where not where they would be on a physical alphanumerical keypad, but on Belle, the keypad is identical to the physical one and very responsive.
    Apps:
While Symbian Anna lagged on the Nokia 500, Nokia Belle is very smooth. I don’t see any major changes with the camera on the 500 and the quality remains the same. There have been some rumors going around about the Nokia 500 getting HD video with the Belle update but these rumors are not true and the Nokia 500 remains with the usual 640p*313p video. While on Symbian Anna, there was no ‘Gallery’ icon but there is one on Symbian Belle and a separate ‘Videos’ icon is there too for easy access to downloaded videos (yes downloaded videos or those NOT taken with the phone’s camera). The angry birds app is a hugely wanted app for the Nokia 500 and is very identical to the computer version. Actually, it IS the computer version in smaller scale. Symbian Belle still allows the user to kill unwanted applications running in the background by holding down the menu key and clicking the ‘X’ icon. Ovi maps on the device is version 3.06 as predicted and even if not version 3.08, it still gets the job done.
The settings menu is the same and nothing major there too. On Symbian Anna, the Nokia 500 has many themes for different colors but on Symbian/Nokia Belle, the 500 only has one “Nokia Evolve” theme which means the users have to download their own themes for personalization.
Overall, the icons seem a bit smaller especially on the home screen and this makes the phone look abit tiny which it is. The size was not brought out in Symbian Anna but in Belle we can see how small the screen on the phone is compared to devices like the E7, N8 and Nokia 701.
With Symbian Belle, the Nokia 500 is able to really show its 1Ghz processor at work and even if it might not be able to play (fancy) 3D games due to the lack of a OpenGL compatible GPU, it can still allow us to play OpenVG games such as “Asphalt 6: Adrenaline” and “Nuke Defender 3D” available from Ovi store.

Great to see you are a happy user. I have just bought two Nokia 500 phones (another for my wife), upgraded to Belle, and both have the same infuriating problems:
    - system crashes half a dozen times a day without any warning (during calls, browsing, text messaging)
    - if I change the language for text messages, I cannot type anything (SMS) any more
    - when phone goes to sleep, it often won't wake up and I need to remove the battery (after doing this 4-5 times a day one starts to get very frustrated).
I am very disappointed and cannot recommend the phone to anyone. First Nokia that I feel this way with.

  • Creation of delivery when sales order is saved in VA01

    Hi All
We got the requirement in such a way that
we are creating sales order of type (ZOR -standard order ) . Configrration is donde in such a way that when the order is saved one dilvery will be created for that order of deilvery type ZLF .as this is assginned as default delivery type in VOV8 .
Hre we have two delivery types ZLF and  ZF and we have diffrent different item categories for that sales order like ZZTC , ZPU ,
    ZTDP .
    our requirement is  as follows
when we create sales order through va01 (order type - ZOR standard order ) having onlu one item category ZPU  then delivery should be created of type ZLF it is happing correctly .
when we create a sales order through va01 having  non ZPU item categroies like ZZTC and ZTDP dlivey should not be created automatically for that sales oder on saving that order . this is also happeing correctly
    but the problem is
when we create a sales order having diffrene item categories ( one condiotn here one item should be ZPU) and other item is  ZZTC while saving the sales order delivery is getting created partially for one item only not for two items i mean delivery is getting created only for item categroy zpu the item with type ZZTC is not gettting added to that delivey .
    for exmaple
    sales order 1234
    item category ZPU
    item category ZZTC
delivery created with only one item ZPU
May i know any requirments (routines ) are thre to solve this in VOFM .
let me know how to hanlde this issue .
    Regards
    Sunil

    Hi Mohanty,
I think the Immediate Delivery under Shipping for that order type may have value A or X, Clear that value.
    1) Goto VOV8 tansaction.
    2) Select the Sales order type (For eg: OR for standard order) and double click on that
    3) Under Shipping tab, Set Immediate Delivery with Blank value
Plz reward points if it is helpful
    Thanks,

    Error analysis
An SAP System process was terminated by an operating system signal.
    Possible reasons for this are:
    1. Internal SAP System error.
    2. Process was terminated externally (by the system administrator).

    How to correct the error
The SAP System work directory (e.g. /usr/sap/c11/D00/work ) often
    contains a file called 'core'.
Save this file under another name.
If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the
    following documents to SAP:
    1. A hard copy print describing the problem.
To obtain this, select the "Print" function on the current screen.
    2. A suitable hardcopy prinout of the system log.
To obtain this, call the system log with Transaction SM21

  • Lenovo Community Participation Rules

    Objectives of Lenovo Discussion Forums:
These communities have been created to provide a high quality atmosphere in which users of Lenovo products and services may share experiences and expertise. While members from Lenovo may participate at intervals to engage in the discussions and offer advice and suggestions, this forum is not designed as a dedicated and staffed support channel. This is an informal and public forum, and Lenovo does not guarantee the accuracy of information and advice posted here -- see important Warranty information below.
RULES OF CONDUCT -- YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lenovo reserves the right to remove inappropriate language and postings, such as those examples listed below, from the discussion forums. In such instances, the user will be warned and may be banned from future participation
    Prohibitions
No posts, forum IDs or email addresses shall contain profanity (implied or otherwise), or hate language targeting race / ethnicity, religion, gender, nationality, or political beliefs.
Post should avoid these topics. Posts violating these rules will be moderated, and the user warned. Repeat occurrences could result in banning.
No pornography, in the form of written words, expressions, posted images, or links to external material will be tolerated.
No personal threats will be tolerated against forum members, Lenovo employees, or company affiliates.
    No personal attacks.
It is fair to state disagreement with facts or conclusions that another member has posted, but dissent must be expressed in an objective, and reasoned manner. Treat others with the respect you wish to receive. Remember that the community is here to share collective experiences and wisdom, with the goal of all members enjoying greater success with their Lenovo products. Consider whether your comments serve to advance the discussion in a positive direction.
No Trolling or deliberate disruption of discussion . Inflammatory post or thread titles are unacceptable and may be moderated.
Inflammatory, or unnecessarily argumentative postings will be considered trolling. Extended debate with moderators or admins over their decisions with regard to moderation of posts is considered trolling. Do not subvert threads. No vendetta posts, or online campaigning. It is acceptable to state concern for how a particular Lenovo policy, performance, or procedure does or does not meet the expectation of a particular member, but it is not acceptable to use this forum in an attempt to broadly organize or incite members en mass, to cancel orders, return systems, undertake legal action or otherwise disrupt the normal business processes of Lenovo.
    No posting of private information.
Privacy - Lenovo respects the privacy of each member - please find the privacy link in the footer on each page of the forum. As such, we request that participants respect the privacy of all community members and of Lenovo employees that they speak with on the phone, or correspond with via email. Posts revealing items such as full names, email, or direct phone numbers  of others without their express consent is prohibited.
No commercial solicitation, other than advertisements placed by Lenovo.
This is not intended as an online shopping or trading forum. Members may not post inventories of items, or list items for sale on a routine basis. "Wanted" posts (e.g., a member seeking a 701c system) are permitted on a one-off basis. Individuals may also post single Lenovo products, or directly related accessory items as "for sale" in the general discussion area. Posts for non Lenovo related products are not acceptable (so no cars, boats, planes, tennis rackets,MP3 players, for example). Discretion of forum administrators to remove an item is reserved in all instances.
No solicitation for, nor exchange of information that will aid or enable unethical, illegal, immoral or unsafe activities.
For example, no posts concerning exchange of passwords, credit or banking information, warranty entitlement information for purpose of re-entitling out of warranty products. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc, or to subvert safety measures. Nor shall any posts provide descriptions to the location of, nor direct links to content related to these topics.
Members are restricted to a single online persona
Members may not register under multiple IDs, or utilize multiple email addresses within the Lenovo communities. This rule applies to Lenovo blogs and the forum. Posting under multiple IDs can be a deceptive practice and could create false impressions. The consistent use of a single ID / Persona whether posting response comments on Lenovo Blogs, or in active forum participation enhances the reputation and recognition of the individual community member.
Do not embed large photos (above 100K) or cut and paste large areas (use of quote) unnecessarily as these behaviors degrade the performance of the forum and detract from the overall usability and experience of others. Instead, host photos externally and link to them as needed within your posts. If you must post to the forum, post in the photos area, remembering to title the thread  photo thread appropriately when you post them to. Try to limit each photo to 100K or less in size, and provide a warning of "large attachments" if you are posting lots of pictures or if you had to go above 100K.
You can check out this article About Posting Pictures In The Forums for more useful details.
Do not attempt to subvert or corrupt the software of the forum
    - members attempting to do so will be banned.
No posts or signatures with intent to promote or advertise
Any way of personal blogs/ websites/ pages/ affiliated websites/ resources are not allowed.* Links may be removed at Lenovo's discretion. Repeat offenders may face suspensions/ banning of accounts
    a) External Links
External links to other sites are permitted when they are relevant to the discussion and the information included is not available or cannot be found in the Lenovo forums or websites. Users are not permitted to repeatedly link or post threads with intention to link to personal blogs, websites or other personal resources in the web as this will be considered as advertising or board spamming. The links / posts will be removed at Lenovo's discretion. External links may not link to any site containing subjects listed in the Prohibitions section of these guidelines. Repeat offences will result in forum membership being revoked.
    b) Signatures
Members are encouraged to include their system details in their signature as this will inform and assist others who may be offering advice. No pictures are permitted in signatures. A single discreet link to a personal website or other online resource is permitted in the signature line. However, the link must not be directed to any site containing subjects listed in the Prohibitions section of these guidelines. Members are not permitted to refer to the signature link in the body of their post text as this will be considered as advertising or board spamming.
    Guidelines and Recommendations
Before creating a new thread, search the appropriate section of the forum first for any existing and related threads. It may be more constructive to all, to advance the knowledge of an existing thread than to create a possibly redundant one. If you find something similar, but believe your topic is unique enough to create a new thread, then do create the new thread choosing your title carefully (see below). Provide some comments as to the existence of the related thread(s) you found and link to them. This will help other users and the moderators to provide the most valuable responses possible.
Post to the correct area - Post new threads in the sections for the particular family of systems, Thinkpads, Thinkcentres, Lenovo 3000, etc. Choose the proper series of systems - T, X, G, H, etc. Moderators will move threads to appropriate sections.
Title threads appropriately. The title of a thread should accurately reflect the subject of the discussion and be as technically specific as possible.  Avoid inflammatory or emotional statements that do not aid the development of the conversation. Thread titles are indexed not only for search functions within the forum, but often externally in Google, Yahoo, etc. Proper thread titles will aid the active members of the Lenovo community, as well as non-members who may be searching more broadly. Example of a good thread title: T Thinkpad Blue Screens after suspend . Example of a bad thread title: Stupid computer locks up - worthless piece of junk. Moderators may alter thread titles to be more meaningful if less than appropriate titles are chosen.
Use pictures to aid understanding and comprehension when appropriate. Screen captures of settings, pull down menus, or error messages can be very helpful in understanding an issue and helping to resolve it. Digital pictures of systems and their environments can also be helpful from time to time. Host pictures externaly, or post to photos area. Limit size to 100K or less. 10M pixel cameras are cool but the resulting file sizes are not. You can check out this article About Posting Pictures In The Forums for more useful details.
Look for ways to advance the richness of the forum. Share awareness of this forum with other users of Lenovo products that you know. Participate in special interest areas. Look for opportunities to mentor junior members - help them along the path to greater knowledge, share shortcuts. Do link to external resources and documents. Members that distinguish themselves by consistently providing quality answers, that advance the collective understanding, and resolve specific problems will attain higher rankings and privileges.
Please restrict off topic discussions to the general area.
There are thousands of online communities dedicated to a wide variety of topics from automobiles, to astronomy, folk arts to fly fishing. This community is dedicated to the Lenovo family of products, services, and the community members who own, use, and benefit from them.
    Country Location
    - Members should denote their country location in their personal profile.  Location is important when offering advice, as sales, service, and product options may not be consistent country to country. Note that community members from other countries may not all share the same understanding of metaphors, social references, or slang expressions. Posts authored with this in mind may be more easily understood by all.  This field is a requirement during registration.

  • Install SSMS on SQL Server 2008 Express

Hi,I'm trying to install SSMS on my Windows 2008 Server running SQL Server 2008 Express.
I get the following error when I try to install it:
How do I get around this? I thought I had at least SP1 installed but don't know how to check.

    Hello,
The easiest way is to install SSMS with SP3, you can get it here:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express Service Pack 3
Otherwise: It's just a warning, go on with Installation and apply SP1 (or better SP3) afterwards:

Common commercial plug-ins (e.g. Shine-off, Portrait Professional) will not automatically install into this Windows version of Photoshop.
Nik filters will install manually, the installer does not recognize this version of PS, but the program crashes shortly after launch if the plug-ins are installed.
    No plug-ins, program runs.
I also have PS CC 2014 installed in OSX Maverick and the Mac plugins, specifically Nik filters, will install and work.
I do not see any entries for PS CC 2014 in the Program files/x86 directory as there are for every other windows version of PS suggesting a programming change.
I hope this is simply more buggy Adobe programming and not a deliberate attempt to sabotage Windows users and the plug-in market. If PS CC 2014 for Windows is not compatible with existing plug-ins its kind of useless/worthless if your workflow includes those plugins.

I do not agree that obsoleting all on my expensive plug-ins is a plug-in author's issue; some of these authors are no longer around / listed - it's an unannounced and not warned about break in backwards compatibility!
So, how do we restore operation for plug-ins in "legacy mode"?

  • After 2.1 update still getting dropped calls

After 2.1 update I have dropped at least 15 Phone calls , the signal strength is usually on 5 bars 3g , the calls drop without warning (doesnt break up or destort voice), It also seems if I look at email while on a call it drops the call about 20 seconds later, another odd thing is the improved reception at my desk at work , used to get 1 bar on EDGE or no service , after 2.1 update I got 5 bars on 3g and the internet was pretty fast in the same spot but only during the morning time , I went back into the office about an hour later the bars dropped to 1 bar on EDGE/no service and the internet wouldnt even work , and now today when talking with my girlfriend (who has the same phone) the call quality has dropped , the speech sounds like she or I are talking through a voice changer where the words become incomprehensible or the sound totally drops momentarily and then returns to normal , so now im finding myself asking are you there over and over , do you think this phone will ever exhibit excellent voice quality and call reliablity or should I just go back to my old company?

Since updating my phone to the new 2.1 Firmware I have been seeing my phone at full bars which I normally don't see on a regulars bases like I do now but if I am having full bars why am I having connectivity issues like when I am talking on the phone it is constantly breaking up almost to the point it sounds like a blown speaker and when I send a SMS it pauses at the end of the loading box for about a minutes before the messages is completely sent. These 2 issues I have never experienced until right after the install of the new 2.1 Firmware

  • I changed web hosts and can't publish through iWeb SEO Tool or Rage Site Map Automator. Do I need to delete the old site map?

I switched to iPage hosting since Mobile Me is expiring. Also recently upgraded to OS X 10.7.3 and am using iWeb 3.0.4 for my web site design. I published directly to the FTP from iWeb but all title tags, meta tags have disappeared and I'm not showing up in Google or others. I tried publishing from iWeb SEO but it couldn't complete the process.
Should I first publish to a folder as I did before with Mobile Me, then delete all old sitemaps and start over with the Site Map Automator and then try to publish from the SEO tool? Will I lose the key words and meta tags that are already in iWeb SEO?
    Thanks!

The problem is that most tech support people don't understand how iWeb structures a site.
When a visitor types in "domain-name-com" the browser expects to find an index.html in the root folder on the server. In "normal" websites the index.html file is the first page of the site.
The iWeb index.html file is a redirect to the first, or landing, page of the site which is the one at the top of the left column in iWeb just below the site name.
    iWeb produces two index.html files.
One is outside of the folder containing the rest of the files and directs to - folder-name/home-page-name.html
The other one is inside the folder and directs to - home-page-name.html
You have two choices of how you upload the files since you are publishing to a local folder.
You can upload the whole folder plus the external index.html to the root folder on the server and the URL to any page will be...
    http://www.domain-name.com/site-name/page-name.html
If you upload the contents of the site folder, and not the folder or the external index.html, the URL will be...
    http://www.domain-name.com/page-name.html
See this page for more info and the warning about breaking the RSS feed....

    Hi,
In IPD135N031.cir file you attached, there is a line that starts with:
    X1  d1 g s Tj S4_30_h_var
This line is a call command in spice, it's looking for another model called :s4_30_H_H_var.  You did not include the second model and that's why you got the error message.
The attached file is the complete model.  I made one modification to the syntax that you should know about.  In the model, one of the expressions has a log function.  If left that way, Multisim will treat log()expression as ln(), otherwise you have to use log10.  I changed the expresssion to log10.

  • Is SP 2013 Service Pack1 mandatory for my portal

     hi,
Our application is still in UAT env. and NOT deployed in the prod. farm.
But my customer's IT team has created few webapplns on the already provisioned prod.farm.
Currenty there is no SP2013 SP1 installed on the prod.farm.
Now in my dev and UAT env. me and myteam have installed  SP 2013 only and not  sp 2013 SP1 .
now my question is, do i need to tell the my customer to install SP 2013 SP1 on the production farm?
if I develop my portal in SP 2013 and ddint test it in SP1 on dev and UAT env. will my code break on prod.farm where SP1  is installed.
Whats the best practice in this case. Can I tell them to install SP1 on the prod.farm and I will deploy my portal on this  without testing it on the dev and UAT where there doesnt exist SP1.
What are those scenarios where I can recommend installing SP 2013 SP1 on the prod. farm.
my portal is using team site template and custom site permissions, custom doclib permissions and event receivers at present.
Will be implementing community portal , my sites, feeds in the coming months. So would like to know what are those additional stuff added in the SP1, such that i can leverage those.
any pointers /best approaches are highly appreciated!

If your production environment is on RTM then you must roll back your Dev and UAT to match it or bring up production to match.
In theory upgrading the production environment to match Dev and UAT would also be fine but i get the impression that your UAT isn't a fully representative example of the client's environment. As the client will need to be careful during the upgrade process
and ideally test it first. Rolling back your Dev/UAT is the safer option.
If you were to run out of sync environments then you would probably run the code intended for SP1, but it wouldn't be certain to work the same. You wouldn't be able to move sites or databases from Dev/UAT to production.
You'll need to start again or get the client to update to the same level as you.
The advantages in SP1 are mostly around stability/performance and so on. Don't expect any new awesome features.
