  • Security Warning in Adobe Reader beim Öffnen eines pdf-Links

    Hallo zusammen

  • Adobe Reader XI (11.0.07) Installation Failed

When I tried to open PDF files on my mac OSX 10.9.4, I received an error message of FINDER said “The application “Adobe Reader.app” can’t be opened. -1712”. I use Adobe Reader.app all the time and never had this error message before. So I trashed Adobe Reader.app (10.1.10) and downloaded Adobe Reader XI (11.0.07), then the installation was failed, and I got a following warning sign:  Adobe Reader Installation Error installer: Package name is Adobe Reader XI (11.0.07) installer:installing at base path/installer: The install failed (The installer encountered an error that caused the installation of fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance). Please help!

  • Adobe Reader Help

My Adobe Reader was just updated to version 9.1.1. Since the update when I access a website that I have been using for many years WITHOUT any problems  I am now receiving a pop up box stating the following:
                                                     Adobe Reader
Adobe Reader could not open  ' A9R4F1.temp'  because it is either not a supported file type
or because the file type has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment
                                                     and wasn't correctly decoded).
The site that I was accessing is www.njfishing.com. I have never had this problem or warning before Adobe Reader was updated.  I am looking for solutions in how to correct this problem.
    Thanks,
    Jetty37

    Hi,
I visited the site, and haven't any problems yet.
Do you get this error right at the home page?
What link in particular, did you click on, if any?  Was it a PDF?
I couldn't find any PDFs on the website.  The error says Adobe is trying to open a temp file, which I don't think it will be able to do.  It may be a simple problem of the new version of Adobe getting confused with file types on your PC.
Do you use Norton Personal Firewall or Internet Security?  I found a reference to that causing this type of problem.

  • Search Server 2010 Express: Open a PDF document from list of search results invokes adobe reader client application with error

    Hi community,
I set up search server 2010 express on a windows 2008 r2 server.
The Adobe PDF iFilter 9 64 bit is installed and search is correctly configured to find PDF-files.
When doing a search and clicking on a link of the result page, the PDF is not opened in the browser, instead the adobe reader XI client application (11.0.04) is invoked and an error raised like "could not open document .. check syntax of url..."
Right click on a link to open in new tab works fine. And PDF-Files from other arbitrary Internet Sites opens in browser correctly. Moreover when configure Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 as default application on the client it also open in Browser correctly.
I noticed googling the web there are several challenges when dealing with PDF-files in sharepoint. The following settings are made so far:
    1. In IE: Add-On to open PDF in Browser is enabled for all sites.
    2. Client Integration is enabled
    3. The OpenControl attribute in the DOCICON.xml is left empty OpenControl="" for the pdf entry.
    4. The Browser File Handling is set to "Permissive".
Please feel free to ask for more information if needed.
I appreciate any help on this. I don't know what to do further.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply.
Before responding to your points I want to give a little more context:
We have an intranet based on pure html and a little aspx containing many of those pdf- files. By clicking on the links in the intranet the files open correctly in browser handled by the adobe plugin. Now we set up this search server crawling the file system
accessed through a share to the root folder of the intranet. In the search server settings a host mapping rule is applied to replace the file://[share] with http://[intranet host+domain+port] to access files over http.
And now to answer your question. The resulting urls are the same, copying the link from intranet and copying the link from the search result (except some case issues).
The event viewer not seem to show any errors on this, though I'm not very familiar using it.
If any further information are from interest and any ideas come to your mind - please let me know.
    Thanks.

  • Emailing from within Adobe Reader XI to Outlook 2010 32-bit bounces

I have a wierd one going. The problem appears to be with Adobe Reader XI. If I email from withing Adobe Reader up pops Outlook 2010 and away we go but the email bounces. It says the destination address does not exist. If I open Outlook and browse for the attachment and send it without touching Acrobat Reader it works just fine.
The problem sure appears to be sending from Acrobat Reader. Any clues?

I am going to have to ding Adobe. The problem does appear to be on their end. Adobe is detecting the default storage and then using the account associated with that storage.
That is totally incorrect and a very sloppy, inaccurate job on Adobe's part. They need to detect and use the default account. Nicely done Adobe!

  • The "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon, so selecting Adobe Reader as action does not work to display the PDF.

In the Applications tab -- Content Type -- the "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon (not Adobe), so selecting Adobe Reader or preview in Firefox as action does not work to display the PDF. I can see this Applications difference because my other Firefox laptop has the Adobe icon, and I can view PDFs. Essentially, a PDF is coming in as a Word document -- and the computer tries to open it up as a Word file.
How do I get the correct PDF icon in the Applications list -- the same way it displays (and works) on my other laptop.

Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 10.1.7 ?
I think you need to add this to the list of applications and the action to take on the type of content. This can also be managed in the about:permissions page. [[Permissions Manager - Give certain websites the ability to store passwords, set cookies and more]]

  • Outlook 2010, Windows 7, 32 bit can't launch adobe reader

I have a client with the following problem:
In windows, double click of a PDF shows... Adobe Reader X (this is a good thing)
In outlook 2010, double click of a PDF "goes to that dark place" -- actually Windows Media Player.  Which is useless.  There is no setting I can find to change this.  Reinstalling Adobe did not fix this.  Many of the similar problems I've seen are specific to 64 bit -- this one is on 32 bit.
How can I get Outlook 2010 to launch Adobe when a pdf is double-clicked on a 32 bit windows 7 computer?
(Norton 360 is the antivirus, so it's not a McAffee issue).

Hi guys, thanks for your responses.
What is this vboxnetflt for? Which modules are the essential modules for virtualbox? What I mean is: do those nice features like mouse point integration, full screen supportment etc... rely on vboxnetflt and vboxnetadp?
What I have in my configuration file is:
    MOD_AUTOLOAD="yes"
    #MOD_BLACKLIST=() #deprecated
    MODULES=(vboxdrv vboxnetflt vboxnetadp)
I think vboxnetadp is used for networkiing. and vboxnetflt sounds like network filtering stuff. Can someone please confirm me? I think the problem was the sequence of upgrading. Firstly it updated the kernel and then installed the new version of virtualbox. I think if it could install the new version of virtualbox first and then the kernel, it would go without any problem, just my opinion as I said.
Let's keep tracked on this. Maybe someone will find a solution before virtualbox developers :-)

  • Doesn't give a loud warning that an executable is no longer protected (Adobe Reader updated to ver 11)

Running EMET 4.1 on Win XP.
I updated Adobe PDF Reader from version 9 to version 11.   When this happens, Adobe places the program's executable file in a different subdirectory than in the previous version.  The file name is the same, but the location is completely different
(Adobe uses the version number as a subdirectory name).  EMET did not loudly warn me that AcroRd32.exe was no longer protected.
It did mark that executable in italics to show that something was wrong. But I only noticed that because I deliberately went in to the protected apps screen to check.  There's no indication on EMET's home screen that a previously protected program is
now unprotected. And there wasn't an easy right-click menu to modify the executable's path.  I had to delete, search, and re-add the Adobe executable.

Use the Add Wildcard button to replace the version number in the path with *.
The Recommended Software profile in the Deployment folder has an entry which sets the path to
    *\Adobe\Reader*\Reader\AcroRd32.exe
The Memprot mitigation should be disabled for Adobe Reader and Acrobat.

  • Adobe Reader 9 + AutoCAD 2010 student version: no 3-d pdf conversion?

    Hi,
if I try to export my AutoCAD 2010 3-d image as a 3-d pdf to Adobe Reader 9, all that is done is badly spaced 2-d image on white document sheet. I've viewed other 3-d pdf images on the Adobe Reader 9 done on some other AutoCAD's, so I know that it can handle them. Is the problem the AutoCAD student version or am I using wrong method?
I would be grateful of any advice...

    Hi,
I tried to send you a screenshot of the error message of Adobe Acrobat
Pro Extended after an attempt for conversion was made with conversion
settings you sent earlier. Message bounced back every time, regardless
whether the attached file was on *.jpg or packed as a zipped tar-ball.
Is it possible to send the screenshot to some other e-mail address?

Sorry but i did not get the attachement..
BTW, think about using the appropriated conversion settings:

  • Cannot print .pdf attachments in Outlook 2010 on local usb printer using the lastest Adobe Reader

We can't print pdf attachments from Outlook 2010 on a users local printer via usb with the latest Adobe Reader but it can print to a network copier. We can print from the local printer emails, webpages, regular pdf's on the hard drive.
    Please advise and thanks.

What is the behavior that you are seeing? Are you getting some error or is it simply failing to print with Reader 10.1.2.

    Update 2-7-12
When doing a quick print with a right click on the pdf attachment, it will print.
Also, please let me know that if a simple Right Click > Print operation is working, then what exactly is the operation that is failing.

  • When I save a Word 2010 doc as a pdf file, it opens up in Adobe Reader as a blank page, no text, no background etc.

When I save a Word 2010 doc as a pdf file, it opens up in Adobe Reader as a blank page, no text, no background etc.  I am logged on as the Administrator, running Windows 7, using Microsoft Home and Business 2010.

You were right, it was a Microsoft problem.
I got it...I am now able to save a Word 2010 document as a pdf file.  Here is what I did/found:
In Word, go to File, Options, Display and make sure that "Print drawing created in word" is CHECKED.
Mine was unchecked and when I checked it everything came back and is working as it did before.  The only thing I can think of is that a Microsoft Update may have changed this selection...I know I DID NOT make any changes in the options.
One other thing I noticed in my saved documents folders was that a lot of my files showed up as PDF's and would still not open until I selected one and told it to default to open as a word document and then they all changed back and I was able to open them in word again.
I hope this helps others out there.

    Hey @MikeSalsero ,
Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
I understand you are able to print from some programs but not others.
I recommend you download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
