Warning for Flip4Mac uses; conflict with QuickTime7.2

Telestream have confirmed that when encoding WMV files with uncompressed audio sources after installing QT 7.2, you will receive "Inconsistent Audio Sample Rate" error and the encode will fail.
This affects Flip4Mac WMV Studio, Studio Pro, Studio Pro HD versions. They are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

This would be easier to diagnose if there was an explain plan posted for the 'good' and 'bad' queries. Generally speaking using '%' on both sides precludes the use of any indexes.

Tape lables for old used tapes with new barcodes

Hi All,
We are having some old used tapes ,
For those tapes I have giving an new bar codes and ran an inventory form library it is fine and detected with new barcode.
But when I am running in legato then it is detecting as old volume name .
So, I have deleted the old volume and tried to labeled it with the new bar code even then also it is asking overwrite the RAW017 Volume . Like this message it is giving.
Kindly help me in this.......

Just I created a new pool and I tried to label that old tape with replaced bar code into this pool.
Then it has labeled as the bar Code mentioned.
and then I relabeled into the pool in which I require that particular tape to be used .
Now that old tape with required bar code it is working fine in required pool.

Authorization for VAP2 in conflict with VD02 for F_KNA1_GRP

Our sales people need create, change and display access for contact persons (VAP1-2-3) of all customer account groups (F_KNA1_GRP). Meanwhile they also need to be able to create, change and display prospects (account group 0005). For changing prospects, you need access to S_TCODE VD02, but the users should not have access to other customer account groups (eg sold-to or ship-to parties) while using VD02. Can this be done?

You dont need composite roles to achieve that. Combining two "tasks" in single roles into a composite "job" is suboptimal because the "singles" (I prefer the term "real" roles...) will bring in all other access as well...
You end up shooting yourself in the foot because it is not scalable...
If there is a navigation option to the second task, your next best option is to maintain SE97 for the tcode "couples".
Trick is to find the most suitable tcode (if not the original one) which will allow you to do this.
Some tcodes will allow you to access them, but not use them.
But I think the answer to this is using account groups and a carefull choice of transactions which the user can enter with. If the transaction does not check granular authority (such as some "Enjoy" transactions are designed to do) then this requirement cannot be fullfulled by it.
Sometimes you need to forefeight usability... (might also include using older transactions or creating your own for the standard scenario without the tcode context using BAPI's).

EMET GPO Default Protects for Recommended Software conflicting with Application Configuration GPO

Hello,
I am trying to have Excel15 launch with the -EAF mitigation removed, but also have the "Default Protections for Recommended Software" policy Enabled. This is to allow the Microsoft Power Query Ad--In to function using Excel 365 Pro Plus x64.
It seems that the "Default Protections for Recommended Software" is taking precedent over the manually configured "Application Configuration" Enabled policy.
I have the Application Configuration Enabled and looks like:
- C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\excel.exe -EAF
- *\Microsoft Office\OFFICE15\EXCEL.EXE -EAF
- *\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\excel.exe -EAF
Any help would be greatly appreciated to get Excel launching without the -EAF mitigation.

if I understood correctly from talking to EMET feedback team last time, they said App Config settings don't actually override any the default app or popular or IE protection profiles. (it really seems like App config settings override the other profiles
from the manual, hey? I thought so as well)
Sooo, it sounded like we'd need to extract the recommended or popular app list, convert it to the path + mitigation not included format for the app config GPO and then just use app config to manage it.
Needless to say it sounded surprising and laborious and not management by exception at all.
Rinse repeat for new versions of emet and XML policy files .
p.s what would be really helpful in the admin guide is some real world examples of contoso.local where they apply the recommended apps + a few exceptions for all + custom exceptions for a separate class of machines or groups of users. hmeh.

Question for audiophiles using Airplay with Apple TV 2nd Gen

I'm using AirPlay on my iphone to play music to the Apple TV 2nd gen. (running optical out of AppleTV into high quality Rotel receiver) I'm hearing what I believe is best called "pumping" in the audio: the volume is modulating in waves, and the music sounds distant. I can't figure out what would cause this. I've got excellent signal strength so I don't think it's a bandwidth problem where the devices might be over-compressing and thus introducing artifacts.
I've done A/B comparisons with the same song, hardwired to my receiver, and I've heard it on all the tracks I'm streaming, so I know it's not in the recording.
Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? Thanks.

Sorry, I can only offer sympathies and the fact that I also had this issue with wired connections, using XBMC on my Mac Mini to play out to an Audiolab M-DAC. Unfortunately I made lots of changes trying to set up my Media Center, so I don't know what made it go away!
Just saying that it's not neccessarily an Airplay issue.

my question is why would one rather use HTML5 to create and edit animation over flash? I would personally rather have the visual interface than the text editor. Or did I miss something? What are the benefits other than separation of work duties (e.g., designer/developer).

Outlook for Mac and conflict with Mail

I have a mac Pro, have upgraded to Lion and have Outlook for Mac as my default email system. When I choose a file in Finder and go to email it the MAIL system kicks in and takes over. As I have set Outlook as the default nothing happens. Can anyone help please?

The "New Email with Attachment" option in the services menu is an applescript that is configured to point to Apple Mail and does not allow you to change it to Outlook.
As was suggested in other discussion links, you should try dragging the file directly onto the Outlook icon on your dock and it should create a new message with attachment for you:

Mac OSX: Shortcuts with Alt for menu activation conflicts with spec. chars

Hi!
How can I use the Alt+N for writing "}" in my Hungarian keyboard instead of activating the Menu?
This is very annoying since I have searched in the Accelerators, and there are no entry like "AltN".
It is in JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.
In OSX it is not usual that Alt activates the menu. Can I switch this function off completely somehow?

Firefox 25.0.1 Warn when closing multiple tabs (on) conflicts with "show windows und tabs from last time" (on); need both, but only one or the other works.

Using Firefox 25.0.1 on Windows 7 Home Premium
I've poured through support forums for Mozilla Firefox searching for a fix to my initial problem of the "Warn when closing multiple tabs" pop up not popping up when I have it selected.
Went through About:Config, making sure warnings for tabs und closing, und showing on quit, und quitting, etc. were all set to true, which were "possible" fixes for the issue I was having, there are like five or six things set to true for warnings/quitting/etc. No avail. They are all set to true.
Then I stumbled across one that suggested a conflict with the "Warn When Closing Multiple Tabs" und the "Show Windows und Tabs from last time".
I use both features. However, I found if I want the warning pop up for closing multiple tabs, I have to have "show homepage" or "show blank page" selected instead of "Show windows und tabs from last time" selected. (Tools>Options>General>Start Up>When Firefox Starts:) The problem with this is, yes, I get my warning pop up, BUT, I don't get my tabs from my last session.
The warning in settings (Tools>Options>Tabs>Warn Me When Closing Multiple Tabs) is checked.
To have my tabs restored from last session, I simply select it for "when firefox starts". Bam, I have my tabs that were open from the last time I quit. Und again, full circle, I don't have my warning pop up.
There were also suggestions of the warning on close for tabs is conflicting with add-ons.
However, I don't have many. Und I have yet to test them to see if they interfere. These are according to my Add Ons tab when I check it myself.

Flash is notorious for causing Firefox problems. I suggest you start a new thread about that. If at all possible you should try to avoid downgrading to an unsecure & unsupported version of Firefox. it will increase risks to your system and Personal data. (There are methods of mitigating the risks, using a virtual machine or operating within a secure intranet for instance)

Selection-Screen - Warning for similar screens with same info

Hi Gurus!
I have a small question regarding the screens. I have a program which splitting of the UWI's. This program has a selection screen for entry of the company code , plant and date and two radiobuttons to show incomplete ones and all lists. Now the problem is that when this report is used by 3 or 4 people in the department and if they are working on the same plant say 0311, everyone has this screen opened and can make changes without the other person knowing that the other person is also doing changes . I want to make something in the repot that will give a message that this screen is already opened for this particular plant (warning message) which will make the other ppl aware that someone is already working on that plant , not only that evben if a single person has two screens of it opened with similar plant , also it should give message as that its opened for that particular plant. Is it possible please.?

I used the enqueue and dequeue function module in my program to dis-allow two or more people to work on the same screen with similar input of plant ,and I am getting the error message too on the first screen itself that "selected plant si used by another user", but the problem is that its not allowing me to get into it even when I am the first user, I wanted actually it to happen with the second user or if I open up another screen and try inputing same plant and try entering then it should give me the message but its giving me message in the first screen itself and locking , not allowing me to get in.
Kindly suggest what should I be doing to this happen in the second or thisrd ascreen and so on , but not on the frist screen.
I put the logical lock after the plant validation happens , but for teh first user it should allowing him to go through the screen and just give warning for other uses if they enter the same plant and try entering the screen.

Ld relocation warning for polymorphic class declared __symbolic

The SDN article [Reducing Symbol Scope with Sun Studio C/C++|http://developers.sun.com/solaris/articles/symbol_scope.html|By Giri Mandalika, May, 2005 (revised March 22, 2006) ] says that:
The mixed use of -xldscope=hidden and __symbolic will yield the same effect as __declspec(dllexport) in DLLs on Windows (explained in the later part of the article).
However, the Solaris 10 linker (version 5.10-1.482) issues a relocation warning for polymorphic classes declared with the __symbolic specifier, a common practice in DLLs on Windows. The same happens when using the new Sun C++ 5.9 specifier __declspec(dllexport) when building the .so and dllimport when using it as discussed later in the referenced SDN article.
Is the comment in the article incorrect or is the linker buggy?

The __global on the declaration is needed in order for the linker to resolve references to the symbol when using it (i.e., in the executable or another .so). Replacing __global with __symbolic on the declaration prevents the executable from linking. Dropping the __global altogether cause the same warning as with __global.
Btw., the same warning is issued for global data (see below). In the Suggestions on establishing an object interface, the article says:

On Solaris 10 with latest patch level SunOS host1 5.10 Generic_148889-02 i86pc i386 i86pc I have the following Warning in mesd

I looked around in file /etc/driver_aliases and found the following entry
cpqary3 "pci103c,3355""pci103c,3356"
Is this correct or should be better in two separate lines e.g.
cpqary3 "pci103c,3355"
cpqary3 "pci103c,3356"
I did not tried this on so far.
