Warning for update!

WARNING: Updating Nokia PC Suite may be extremely dangerous!
For several days now I am getting a reminder that a new update for Nokia PC Suite is available (I am using version 7.1.18.0). Finally, I got tired of the reminders and accepted installation of the update.
BUT what happened was that the NVIDIA driver for my screen was deleted, together with several other drivers (including the Bluetooth driver), so I had to reinstall all my drivers - and PC Suite was not updated.
And when I now check the website again, it says that version 7.1 is the latest version. So why is Nokia sending me messages that I should update?

Hi and thanks for this reply
In fact, the apps on the iphone are mine, those I istalled and paid for, and I am afraid I loose them if I go on and update, as it says..
I am troubled by "apply this update on the computer where you sync them"  I don't understand how to proceed...and I don't want to do mistakes.

  • When will there be fix for AirPrint in Yosemite? I cannot use my HP printer. I have uninstalled/resinstalled everything you can think of. I have deleted and added my printer more time than I can count. I have checked for updates. Nothing has worked.

    When will there be fix for AirPrint? Since upgrading to Yosemite I cannot print from my MacBook Air which I use mostly. (I can print from the my old 2005 G5 desktop and iPad2 just fine on the same network.) I could print just fine when I had Mavericks. I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun: resetting print system, deleting and adding the printer, checking for updates, uninstalling and reinstalling printer software and folders, turning off modem, router etc. NOTHING works.
    The laptop shows that it is printing but nothing happens. Then it says it cannot locate the printer or there is a broken pipe. But it does tell me that I have a low level in one of the ink cartridges (which is true.)
    Help! I have warned everyone I know not to upgrade. Is there a way to go back to Mavericks?

  • FOR UPDATE cursor is causing Blocking/ Dead Locking issues

    Hi,
    I am facing one of the complex issues regarding blocking / dead locking issues. Please find below the details and help / suggest me the best approach to ahead with that.
    Its core Investment Banking Domain, in Our Day to day Business we are using many transaction table for processing trades and placing the order. In specific there are two main transaction table
    1)     Transaction table 1
    2)     Transaction table 2
    These both the tables are having huge amount of data. In one of our application to maintain data integrity (During this process we do not want other users to change these rows), we have placed SELECT …………….. FOR UPDATE CURSOR on these two table and we have locked all the rows during the process. And we have batch jobs (shell scripts ) , calling this procedure , we will be running 9 times per day 1 hrs each start at 7:15AM in the morn finish it up in the eve 5PM . Let’s say. The reason we run the same procedure multiple times is, our business wants to know the voucher before its finalized. Because there is a possibility that order can be placed and will be updated/cancelled several times in a single day. So at the end of the day , we will be sending the finalized update to our client.

    Current Program will look like:
    App_Prc_1
    BEGIN
    /***** taking the order details (source) and will be populate into the table ****/
    CURSOR Cursor_Upload IS
    SELECT col1, col2 … FROM Transaction table1 t 1, Source table 1 s
    WHERE t1.id_no = t2.id_no
    AND t1.id_flag = ‘N’
    FOR UPDATE OF t1.id_flag;
    /************* used for inserting the another entry , if theres any updates happened on the source table , for the records inserted using 1st cursor. **************/
    CURSOR cursor_update IS
    SELECT col1, col2 … FROM transaction table2 t2 , transaction table t1
    WHERE t1.id_no = t2.id_no
    AND t1.id_flag = ‘Y’
    AND t1.DML_ACTION = ‘U’,’D’ -- will retrieve the records which are updated and deleted recently for the inserted records in transaction table 1 for that particular INSERT..
    FOR UPDATE OF t1.id_no,t1.id_flag;
    BLOCK 1
    BEGIN
    FOR v_upload IN Cursor_Upload;
    LOOP
    INSERT INTO transaction table2 ( id_no , dml_action , …. ) VALUES (v_upload.id_no , ‘I’ , … ) RETURNING v_upload.id_no INTO v_no -- I specify for INSERT
    /********* Updating the Flag in the source table after the population ( N into Y ) N  order is not placed yet , Y  order is processed first time )
    UPDATE transaction table1
    SET id_FLAG = ‘Y’
    WHERE id_no = v_no;
    END LOOP;
    EXCEPTION WHEN OTHER THEN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE( );
    END ;
    BLOCK 2
    BEGIN -- block 2 starts
    FOR v_update IN Cursor_Update;
    LOOP;
    INSERT INTO transaction table2 ( id_no ,id_prev_no, dml_action , …. ) VALUES (v_id_seq_no, v_upload.id_no ,, … ) RETURNING v_upload.id_no INTO v_no
    UPDATE transaction table1
    SET id_FLAG = ‘Y’
    WHERE id_no = v_no;
    END LOOP;
    EXCEPTION WHEN OTHER THEN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE( );
    END; -- block2 end
    END app_proc; -- Main block end
    Sample output in Transaction table1 :
    Id_no | Tax_amt | re_emburse_amt | Activ_DT | Id_Flag | DML_ACTION
    01 1,835 4300 12/JUN/2009 N I ( these DML Action will be triggered when ever if theres in any DML operation occurs in this table )
    02 1,675 3300 12/JUN/2009 Y U
    03 4475 6500 12/JUN/2009 N D
    Sample output in Transaction table2 :
    Id_no | Prev_id_no Tax_amt | re_emburse_amt | Activ_DT
    001 01 1,835 4300 12/JUN/2009 11:34 AM ( 2nd cursor will populate this value , bcoz there s an update happened for the below records , this is 2nd voucher
    01 0 1,235 6300 12/JUN/2009 09:15 AM ( 1st cursor will populate this record when job run first time )
    02 0 1,675 3300 12/JUN/2009 8:15AM
    003 03 4475 6500 12/JUN/2009 11:30 AM
    03 0 1,235 4300 12/JUN/2009 10:30 AM
    Now the issues is :
    When these Process runs, our other application jobs failing, because it also uses these main 2 tranaction table. So dead lock is detecting in these applications.
    Solutin Needed :
    Can anyone suggest me , like how can rectify this blocking /Locking / Dead lock issues. I wants my other application also will use this tables during these process.
    Regards,
    Maran

  • About for update clause

    hi, i want to lock some rows that i've selected in a program. so, i use a for update clause. Here is my query:
    SELECT *
    FROM (
         SELECT name, age, classe, average
         FROM student
         WHERE average >= '15'
         AND warning is NULL
         AND status = '1'
         ORDER BY age
         FOR UPDATE OF average)
    WHERE ROWNUM <= 5
    the problem is that the oracle server always return this message:
    ORA-00907: Parenthèse de droite absente
    May you tell me what's wrong with this query? according to the Oracle message, it seems that i don't close a bracket,but it is not the case.So what it is the problem?
    thanks.

    It seems that you cannot have a FOR UPDATE clause in a inline view and that you cannot use the FOR UPDATE clause for an inlinve view if the inline view has an ORDER BY clause.
    One solution is to create a temporary table to store the rowids of the table your want to select for update.
    Example:
    create global temporary table student5
    ( orowid rowid )
    on commit preserve rows;
    insert into student5
    select rowid
    from (select rowid
    from student
    where average >= 15
    and warning is null
    and status = '1'
    order by age)
    where rownum <= 5;
    select * from student where rowid in (select orowid from student5) for update;Note also that if student.average column is numeric, you should not use quotes for '15'.

  • Intermittent Scan issues for Update Agent

    I am having an issue with SUP/WSUS that I am hoping someone can point me on the right direction on..
    The environment is:
    SCCM 2012 R2 Primary Site Server on Server 2012 R2 Update
    SQL 2012 SP1 on Server 2012 R2 Update (standalone server) that houses the SCCM DB and the WSUS DB.
    Software Update Point is on Server 2012 R2 Update (standalone) with WSUS roll installed. WSUS is configured for SSL (with "requires ssl" checked on the role) and using port 8531.
    No issues with the SUP install.  The SUP is synchronizing just fine with Microsoft and I am able manage update objects in the SCCM Admin console (create update groups, ADR's, etc.)

    The issue comes into play in the fact that what appears to be about 85-90% of the time, the client scan cycle fails with error 0x80244004.  This is both Windows 7 x86/64 Pro and Windows XP SP3.  The error translates to:
    Same as SOAPCLIENT_CONNECT_ERROR - SOAP client failed to connect to the server.
    Source: Windows Update Agent
    The REALLY bizarre thing is that the OS's are inverted on their failure rates.  Win 7 fails 85-90% of the time, where as Win XP succeeds 85-90% of the time.
    We completely rebuilt the SUP Server (including OS and reconfigured it again for SSL) and alas the issue remains.
    Here's some snippets from the logs files from a machine when it fails:

    I have verified there are no proxy settings on any of these devices by running "Netsh winhttp show proxy"
    Current WinHTTP proxy settings:
        Direct access (no proxy server).
    Firewall is OFF on both clients and servers.  There are no WU GPO settings applied.
    Anyone have any clues on where to look next?  I have been scouring the internet for a couple of days now and seems that all roads with this type of error leads back to a proxy issue, but since no proxy's are in play here, hasn't been of much help.  Still
    digging through stuff but if anyone has any pointers on where to look next it would much appreciated!
    Thanks,

    Found this Technet article: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ru-RU/a1c81d16-d5d0-4367-bae6-3338aab0633f/client-updates-failing-windowsupdatelog-0x80244004?forum=configmanagersecurity
    I ran a Wireshark trace and received the exact same error on my client.  I have sent this over to the client to take a closer look.  Fingers crossed that this is the issue as it should be a simple fix.  *fingers crossed*

  • Got an Acer netbook which has linux operating system with Firefox 3.5 installed, the check for updates is greyed out, downloaded firefox 7 but will not install, we are constantly prompted by Firefox to update as 3.5 will no longer be supported

    Basically acer netbook will not allow us to update Firefox from ver 3.5 to 7, check for updates box is greyed out, thanks for your help

    Hi James,
    Many thanks for your reply, the machine was bought from Currys the 3.6 download warns you it will only be supported for a short time, and recommends downloading ver 7, I am unfamiliar with the workings of Linux but the machine has been good, there must be a solution, no problem if we have to pay for the upgrade. Many thanks for your help,
    Cheers, Steve

  • Suppress "Warning: Automatic update is not enabled..." when installing Windows role or feature with Powershell

    I've written a powershell script to prep server for SCCM 2012 and the only annoyting thing I can't seem to get rid of is the yellow warning message that appears as a result of installing new Windows roles/features.  The specific message is: "Warning:
    Automatic updating is not enabled.  To ensure that your newly-installed role or feature is automatically updated, turn on Windows Update."
    Is there an "undocumented" silent switch that I can append to the "Install-WindowsFeature" command-let that suppresses this?
    Thanks for any guidance anyone has found for this.
    jcl

    Hi,
    I'm not completely sure about this, but you could try setting the $WarningPreference variable to SilentlyContinue.

  • ITunes doesn't know how to check for updates?

    So i know that there is a noew version of iTunes, 6.0.4, why when i check for updates in iTunes does it say that 6.0.3 is the current version? it did this also when 6.0.3 was released. i'm kinda confused here, shouldn't iTunes just check the website and if there is a newer version tell me?

    I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
    iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes

  • Error 80072EE6 when checking for updates

    Hi, I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 box that shows an error when Checking for updates.
    When I go to Windows update and push "Check for updates" I get a message saying:
    Error(s) found: Code 80072EE6
    I checked that download.windowsuodate.com is reachable
    Any ideas?

    I tried installing MSXML 4.0 SP1 on the machine. But it didn't solve the issue.
    Below you can find the log from today after I checked for update? I did a check for updates at 13:39. Below that I added a few other log lines before that as well.

    Is this what you meant?

  • [Forms6]Select for update before update and commit

    Hi,
    In the KEY-COMMIT forms trigger
    My code finds the primary keys of the rows to be updated,
    then there is "select ...where "these keys".. for update nowait"
    then there is a commit
    (There also is a pragma exception init -54 "Resource Busy")
    At runtime I get an error:
    "Cannot insert rows here".
    Maybe I should lock these rows before triggering the Key-commit?
    --> message edited
    Oops, I just reproduced the code in Forms 10,
    I select for update from emp where empno=7839 then update King's sal then commit_form;
    and everything works fine.
    So I have to locate where this error message comes from.
    --< End of edit
    Many thanks for your help.
    Edited by: JeanParis on Dec 23, 2009 10:31 PM

    Hi,
    The issue is solved on my Developer 2000 10 installed on Windows XP.
    At work on Forms 6 I have hidden the warning with a :system.message_level.
    What I'm searching now is a script to check the locks in the situation where
    I don't have access to the catblock.sql script because I'm not DBA on the database. (but I can see DBA_LOCKS).
    The problem starts because on the master block there is an item that can ben changed
    from 'CREAT' to 'VALID', and in the When Validate Item trigger on that item I cannot issue a go_block( 'xxx' ).
    I have to go to the 'xxx' block in order to start a first record - next loop to gather values and update a table accordingly.
    Many thanks for your care.
    JBM.

  • OpenSQL DataSource not allowed if select-for-update is used Error?

    Hi,
    I have created an enterprise application, EJB (Session + entity) + WAR, and corresponding ear file deployes with the following warning message, I have done similar apps in the past without erros.
    Warning: DataSource TMP_EMPLOYEES_DATA is OpenSQL. It is used by an abstract schema that uses select-for-update locking. It is now allwed to use OpenSQL DataSource if select-for-updaet is used.
    Any idea?
    Thanks

    Hi Ezatullah, all,
    while I do not propose an alternative solution, I'd like to add some explanation to the error message itself: Open SQL for Java strives to provide portable semantics across the set of supported databases and does not offer features which can not be provided by all the databases.
    Now, a SELECT .. FOR UPDATE in the semantics as used here is not generally available, in particular not regarding the locking semantics.
    Thus, the feature is rejected in combination with a Open SQL/JDBC data source.
    Best Regards, Dietmar

  • Attempting to install update 3.6.9. Norton AV issues warning about "updater.exe" (no knowledge of). Is it OK to proceed?

    A websearch on "updater.exe" lists plenty of entries that suggest this file could be a virus, trojan horse, malware, etc. So I instructed Norton to prevent updater.exe from executing, which of course prevents the 3.6.9 update from being installed. Is it safe to tell Norton to proceed?
    Thank you.

    Firefox does use a file called updater.exe to perform the update. If you get the warning from Norton after selecting "Help > Check for Updates" in Firefox, this will be the Firefox updater and will be safe to proceed.

  • Is it possible that an 'check for updates' button can be added under the update tab instead of waiting for Thunderbird to check in the background please?!

    I'm not always able to 'catch' the update notification popup when it happens, and I do not wish to allow automatic updates without my approval. I have a rather 'sensitive' internet situation. Would it be possible to add a button under the updates tab to allow us to manually check for updates please? This would greatly help my situation.
    Thank you for your time

    Maybe what you called AppMenu is labeled differently as I cannot find that. And yes, the menu bar is visible. And the help menu only lists Help Contents, Troubleshooting Information, What's New, Release Notes, Restart With Add-ons disables, & About Thunderbird.
    If I click Tools, then Options, then Advanced I see the Update tab. In this tab is where one should find a button labeled 'check for updates'. I do not see that. My only options are:
    - Automatically Check For Updates
    ---Thunderbird
    ---Installed Add-ons
    -When Updates To Thunderbird Are Found
    ---Ask Me What I Want To Do
    ---Automatically Download And Install The Update
    -----Warn Me If This Will Disable Any Of My Add-ons
    "Show Update History" button
    -Use Background Service To Install Updates
    I've attached a screen shot of this menu

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
    Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
    There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
    ☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
    ☞ Paste into the window of another application.
    ☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
    ☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
    The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
    and press return. Then paste the script again.
    9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
    If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
    to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
    11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
    At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
    If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    Note: This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • Intune Command to initiate 'Check for update' for intune client.

    Hi ,
    I am working with Microsoft Intune and power shell. My target is to automate the process of "check for update"
    available at Intune client's Microsoft intune center.
    I have found the way to push the command to client using intune but the issue is with the command it’s not working.
    %programfiles%\Microsoft\OnlineManagement\Updates\Bin\omupdclt.exe /detectnow
    %programfiles%\Microsoft\OnlineManagement\Updates\Bin\omupdclt.exe /updatenow
    The reference links are as follows :

    These commands are not getting executed at the client machine. I tried it's execution in administrator mode. Command
    is getting executed without any error but check for update is not getting initiated.
    Can u please provide me with the way to execute this manually at the client machine?

    Thanks for the commands now at least its initiating the Agent.
    /DailyTasks;
    /AgentUpdateNow;
    /RunHandlerComServer
