  • Can you use after market charging accessories on the 5s? My 5s recognizes the item but will not charge. I've tried two after market power cords (they work) and 3 adapters I put on my old 4s power cord. Only the Apple cord works.

    I've tried using my sister's after market power cord and it recognizes that an accessory has been plugged in but it won't charge. The cord does charge my sister's 5. I've also purchased 3 adapters and put them on my 4s power cords and the same thing happens. Only the power cord they came with the phone will charge it. Does anyone know if this is a new thing will all
    5s iPhones or just mine?
    Thanks!

    New to iOS 7. Not just your iPhone 5S. There have been several
    injuries and a few deaths due to 3rd party chargers - use the
    supplied charger and cord.

  • Does any one know if you use the plug-ins yhat you have in the new fcpx?

    does any one know if you use the plug-ins yhat you have in the new fcpx?

    No, its not an "update" its a ground up rewrite.  A new app. It will be distributed by the App Store as a new product and will not have "upgrade" pricing.

  • Can you use the same charging cable for both an iPhone and an IPad or are they different?  When I use the charging cable for my iPhone on my Ipad, it doesn't charge.

    The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
    Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
    How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
    At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • After-market charging cable troubles.

    I recently purchased an  after-market charging cable for an older generation ipod touch. It charges just fine, but iTunes wont seem to recognize the fact that my ipod is linked to the computer...So, my question is does anyone know why this might be happening. I recently reset my ipod touch and need to connect it to itunes to be able to use it. A quick response would be very much appreciated.

    make sure the ipod service is started in

  • If your iPod charger port is broken, can you use a wireless charger?

  • Iphone 4s after market charger cables

    Are after market iPhone 4s charger cables safe to use with Apple chargers

    Hi Again,
    Gosh you are quick with responses.
    The item I am looking at is by a provider who sells both Samsung and Iphone bits.
    As the company is local to Australia I reckon they probably import bits from all over depending on price.
    There is a substantial difference as the Apple item is about $20 AUS and the imported bit is only $5 AUS.
    Reading the Community posts, the overall opinion seems to be to stay away from non Apple items.

  • UK PAC Code... can you use AFTER activation with O2?

    Here's a question for UK iPhone owners after next Friday, 9 Nov 07 (please excuse my ignorance)...
    Does anyone know whether or not you'll be able to port over/in your existing mobile phone number DAYS AFTER you've activated an iPhone in iTunes (using the number "O2" automatically provide on the SIM inside the iPhone at point of purchase) by phoning O2 & requesting a transfer afterwards?
    Let me put it another way... if I activate a UK iPhone on Fri 9 Nov, then get my PAC code (within 5 working days) from my existing network, "Virgin", when my contract expires the following week, THEN ring "O2" and give them my "Virgin" PAC code so I keep my existing number... would this work?
    ... because if you buy a 'normal' mobile phone in the UK, this is quite possible, but I just want to check if I'll be able to do this with the iPhone as I really want to keep my existing number & I don't think I can hold off activating/using my iPhone until I receive the PAC code from "Virgin" 5 days later ... can someone please confirm if I'll be able to do this? Thank you.

    So you are saying that the recovery discs I made do include the copy of windows that was originally installed?
    Absolutely! They will restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents. Follow the instructions in the section Restoring from recovery DVDs/media, which begins on p. 73 of the User's Guide.

    maybe i can make a deal with wd to have them swap this drive out for the BEKT instead...
    That would be a good idea in any case.
    As I said, the 10-fc12-045d error would not be due to the drive's being AFT, but more likely the discs are not being read properly. New discs can be obtained from Toshiba. Scroll down to Get Recovery Media here

  • HT201320 I use my college's email address through outlook and I don't know what you use for the incoming and outgoing host?

    My email is though the college where I work.  We use Outlook, and I am trying to set up my email but I am not sure what to use for my incoming and outgoing host information.

    Ask your college. Most likely the same settings as you have set in Outlook.

  • Are you using After Effects and are looking for plug-ins?

    AV3software.com has all the plug-ing you are looking for, all centralized in one website all available via download at a very attractive price.
    Check it out www.av3software.com

    Hi Michael,
    That's not really the right forum for that, Adobe as an extensive list of those plug-ins on their own web sites, here's the link:

  • Can you use an iPad charger for the iPhone 4S?

    I would like to use the charger for my iPad to connect/charge my iPhone 4S. Will it work?

    I presume you have Power Adapter to USB 12W which comes with iPads and it is compatible with iPhone 4s.
    So yes.

  • Using after market cpu coolers - K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI

    Need suggestions. I just got the K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI with a Zalman copper cpu cooler I ordered. Unfortunately the motherboard came with the brace (backside) for the factory cooler glued on . All motherboards I purchased before included this in the kit for user install. How can I safely remove this brace so I can install the one for the Zalman?

    Hello there,
    Well, there is somewhere in the forum some topics about this but i'll give you 2 solutions from those topics, one is using a hair dryer to heat the back plate and soften the glue, and it will come right off, the second is using a recent idea of dental floss that you can read Safer way to remove backplate from MSI Neo4 Platinum .
    This is my contribution...
    Be well....

  • Use After method in formatted date.

    Hello everyone, does anyone know how to use .after method in date without time included?
    My problem here is that when i use the .after method on dates it includes time, the result is that it is always true.
    import java.util.Date;
    public class CompareDateAfter{
      public static void main(String[] args) {
           Date firstDate = new Date();
           Date secondDate = new Date();
           secondDate = appointmentCheck.getAppointmentDate();
    DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
    dateFormat.format(firstDate);
    dateFormat.format(secondDate);
    if(firstDate.after(secondDate))
    System.out.println("Second Date is initialized before First Date");
    else
    System.out.println("Second Date is initialized after First Date");
    Example:
    Thu Jul 23 00:27:22 CST 2009 (i got this by declaring a new date) is always after Thu Jul 23 00:00:00 CST 2009 (i got this from the database with the original value of 2009-07-23).
    Thanks in advance, hope you can help me.

So you want to know what to do about it? What I would do is to set the hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds of your "new date" to zero. A Calendar object is the most convenient way to do that.

    Can I download IOS 5.1.1 to use for several iPhone's -How...?

    torrak1 wrote:
    So, that you are telling me, is that I should "download only" and not "download and update".
    No I'm not saying that.  For the first iPhone you can "download an update", then the 2nd one would be just "update" since the iOS file has already been downloaded (and "update" would be the only option for #2 since iTunes knows iOS has already been downloaded).  Of course you can also "download only" and then "update" each iPhone at a later time, your choice.
    As far as where the iOS files live, assuming you use a PC take a look here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\(account name)\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
    Look for the .ipsw and .signature files with 5.1.1 in the name.  If you need to copy this to a 2nd PC to save your download time and cost, just copy these files to the same location on the other computer before launching iTunes.
