WARNING message when i start up itunes

although my Itunes is working properly it keeps giving me a WARNING message saying "it was not properly installed. If you wish to import of burn cds you need to reinstall." Is there a way to fix this problem or even get rid of the message i've tried updating cd drivers, the latest itunes, and re installing itunes. so on.... can anyone give me some help?

By chance I read this article, really useful by danny michel:
I quote: "Whew! Now my Apple iTunes version 7.4.1.2 is working again on my Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit (x64) operating system! Ironically, unlike I reported earlier today -- the import, ripping, and CD-burning inside Apple iTunes was still working. However, I kept receiving the pesky Apple iTunes Setup Assistance window with the following message:
"iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CDs, you need to reinstall iTunes."
First, let me say to the Apple iTunes folks that this message was completely mis-leading. The product still functioned correctly, just the error messaging was inappropriate. Not really the best user experience. (Yes, I know 64-bit operating systems are 'technically' not supported by Apple. How long can they continue this though? It is bordering on unreasonable.)
Here is how you can fix the issue: If it works for you, please let me know with a comment below!
1. The problem is with the Gear Software driver for 64-bit operating systems which is integrated into iTunes. What you need to do is visit the Gear Software website and download the right driver for your operating system and processor type. Here is the website: Driver Updates - GEAR Software, Multimedia Made Easy, GEARSEC
2. The right version for me was the middle one: Driver installer for AMD64 and Intel EM64T processors: Windows XP Professional x64, Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition, Windows Vista x64 Edition. I downloaded the file and saved to my desktop.
3. I ran the installation and completed the install for the Gear Software 64-bit drivers. It is just a series of 'next' and then it completes.
4. Fire up iTunes version 7.4.1.2 and it works as it is supposed to again!"

And also by Muldini on a previous topic:
I don't understand why Apple support doesn't react on this, as the solution is ridiculously easy.
You need a 64bit version of the driver, install the one you find here:
http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm
Use "Driver installer for AMD64 and Intel EM64T processors".
Works like a charm.
And also by ccfoodog:
Thanks, this indeed worked for me.
I'm going to leave this set to 'No, my question has not been answered yet.' since as you point out, we shouldn't need a 3rd party driver to make Apple's software work.
Thanks!
And also by poppercorn:
WOW!!! Thanks a billion, Muldini! I have Vista 64bit and ever since I installed iTunes on it, I never got the burner to work on it and that stupid error message would pop up everytime I started the program. But I just installed the driver now and for the first time ever on this computer the program started without a hitch and it was able to detect my burner! Now I can go to sleep in peace tonight.
Apple should address this ASAP. Like you said, I also don't understand why they haven't settled this seemingly simple issue yet. With all of the thousands of Vista 64bit users out there, I'm sure we're not the only ones with this problem.
Go ahead people - if you're having the problem that you've read here and you're using Vista 64 bit, go and download those gearsoft drivers! I'm glad I did.
I think it is enough......

I also found this in another post
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • HT204406 itunes shuts down when I start up itunes match

I've had itunes match on my computer for some time and I'm nearly finsihed the process of matching all my songs, with only about 300 left to be uploaded out of a total of 8000+. In the past few weeks, when I start up itunes on my computer I get the message "Please sign in again". When I sign in again and start up itunes match, I get the message "itunes has stopped working" and the program shuts down. itunes itself works fine, but the match function appears to have gone haywire. Help!

Right, well after another evening of playing I have sort of resolved this issue...
In one of the albums I was trying to upload I found a song with an error icon next to it (like the iTunes cloud icon but with an exclamation mark in the middle) hovering over the icon said there was an error in uploading this song or something to that effect.
I deleted that song from iTunes completely (whilst retaining the original file) and tried to match again. It worked and all the other songs and albums were matched correctly.
I haven't yet gone back to try to re-add it, I will in the near future and hopefully it will work then but for now my music collection (aside from that one song) is all present and correct.
    Hope that helps.
    Best wishes,
    Jon

...iTunes.exe - Bad Image ...iTunes c:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Apple Apple Application Support\CoreADI.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error .....
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP,head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • In iphoto how to get the gold you delete a photo warning message when you check the box not ask

in iphoto how to get the gold you delete a photo warning message when you check the box not ask

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.
